rockband

if only because they still support their game and let me download most of my dlc again for free

Easily Rock Band and Rocksmith

rockband is weird
i'm really good at gh but when i play rock band i miss some notes that i'm not supposed to
like is press it but it doesn't register or something

timing window is shorter than guitar heros.

so if you are even slightly off its far easier to miss

post-split GH > Rock Band > GH
GH2 > GH Metallica > RB2 > GH5 > who cares

rock band because of pic related

Attached: thebeatles.jpg (800x1127, 150K)

I still play GH Metallica, 3 and world tour from time to time

meant pre-split, fuck me

Rock Band Network >>>> GH Music Studio / GHTunes

what the fuck was that shit, you had to ridiculously overchart things to make them sound decent and it was all just garbage Midi sounds through virtual amps

Fucking normie faggot, kill yourself with your bullshit pretend guitars and your cunt for face. Grab a real guitar and stop pretending, cockbreath.

Guitar Hero because of middle school nostalgia

Rock Band 2.

angry boomer

>buying a physical instrument in 2019
LMAO

>Stop playing videogames and do something else
What are you doing here, my man

rock band was much better and clean. Rock band 2 was fucking great.

jokes on you. im top 100 in rockband and can play a real guitar mediocerly now

RB2 was god tier and no other game came close to beating it

Attached: 1554225571908.jpg (615x409, 40K)

Rock band controllers felt like fucking ass to play with.

Guitar hero 3 was the peak of that trend for me. Rock band was probably better but I was over it by then.

Patrician choice is Rock Band with a guitar hero controller

Thoughts on Gitadora?
This probably isn't the right thread to ask

Attached: screenshot_3.jpg (593x436, 48K)

Clone Hero
They perfected it with open notes for guitar
This is the latest april pack
youtube.com/watch?v=n-OUi_xDQSQ

Had the very first guitar hero and was a fanboy for them up until I got rockband 2, that's when I was converted. It's just better all around. Having a full band is much more fun at parties. Guitar hero was always a couple of tryhards trying to beat each other's high scores while the rest of the room watches.

But I like them all. Everyone ITT should check out clone hero for PC. No drum support yet, but it's a nice way to scratch the itch

DJ hero was better than both

stricter timing window.

I was hot shit in GH3 but got my ass kicked playing guitar in RB during almost every solo.

Rock Band 2 was unironically the peak of the genre

It had less of a "Ironic highschool metal" atmosphere though, which was half of the soul, more like radio indie aesthetics

There is NO feeling like playing 5 player mode on that.

Guitar Hero.

Can I play this shit with a Wii controller?

If you have a converter for the connector inside (which is the same as a classic controller's connector), yes. Some people argue they're actually the best guitars to use.

Frets on Fire

>Had the full Rock Band 3 setup when I was 15
>Had this game as well but I didn't like the Beatles at that point
>all the instruments vanished in the divorce
I should find the guitar...
Wiitar is actually the meta controller i've heard. Congrats

i think rockband was technically better but gh was just more fun

ahhh, makes sense thanks
yes, iirc you have 0 input lag, but you need an adapter that it's pricey

>when Clone Hero exists and was designed specifically to support FoF files
No

Rockband

Guitar Hero got fucking stupid after 2

>implying world tour isnt the best one

What's the best place to get a controller that isn't fucked up?

Nowhere. You have to play the Goodwill/eBay lottery like everyone else.

>none available and supported on PC

Rocksmith, nigga.

youtube.com/watch?v=P3uWOFzFqiQ

Attached: 1529669507059.jpg (1280x720, 106K)

guitar hero 3 was the peak. But it actually wasn't because I played guitar hero 2 on ps2 on a crt and guitar hero 3 on a wii with fuckloads of input delay on an early gen flat screen. The calibration kinda worked but it wasn't the same.

>5 player mode
What is there beyond lead guitar, bass, and drums?

Can't believe Rockband has no hardware partner.

You mean the mechanic that came from GH4?

Attached: 1481399425491.gif (245x245, 524K)

Old guitar hero > Rockband > New guitar hero

Rock Band but with GH notes.

Only bass had open notes for some reason

Guitar Hero because I found the UI preferable. The notes in particular, the way they're presented, the legibility of the colors, and the spacing in-between them, and just the graphic design itself, is something I prefer over Rock Band's more streamlined and modern look.

The Beatles Rockband sucked. Guitar hero Aerosmith was better. In fact the Beatles suck as a band anyway.

Bass only got open notes in WT because a large portion of the setlist was country/southern rock songs with the most unituitive basslines imaginable. So they had to throw in open notes as curveball to stop anyone stuck playing bass from topping themselves out of sheer boredom.

>Testament
>Judas Priest
>Megadeth
>Metallica
>Rush
>all in one setlist
It might just be the best official setlist in those games, before going into DLC
What bands would you like to see/see more of in Rockband if you could pick?

This.
>Rockband with a wired explorer gh2 guitar.

Rockband had the Beatles, Greenday and Lego. Guitar hero had Aerosmith and Metallica. Therefore Guitar Hero. Plus Guitar Hero III and Rock the 80s were basically the high point of the rhythm games explosion.

Better question is Rockband 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour.

I dont even know anymore, thanks to mods and pirating all the DLC I feel like I've been set for life.

Sorry, but Warriors of Rock had the full 2112, as well as Burnin' for You.

Rock Band. I prefer drums.

Rock Band is the better game but Guitar Hero had the better instruments. Clicky strum bar so you know damn well you're strumming is much better than the squishy "when the fuck does it register" strum bar of Rock Band guitars. Also having actual cymbals on the drum set is superior, but I don't remember the GH drums being compatible with the RB game like the guitars were. On a side note, it's nice that Rock Band 4 happened and they decided it was better to support one game over a whole gen, but launching with several hundred DLC songs on day one felt like a slap in the face.

2112 was DLC for rockband at least. It was split up in parts but if you bought the parts as a pack you also got the whole song as one track.
Rockband 4 also came close for me setlist wise
>Judas Priest
>Rush
>The fucking Protomen

The lip syncing was way better in gh compared to rb. Rock band was just an ugly game in general

Guitar hero note charts were more fun and made more sense than rock band's

Hi there! I fucking suck!

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 88K)

i started playing this with a keyboard a year and a half ago and i'm too used to it to switch to a guitar

Keys never ever.

youtube.com/watch?v=ltKFv68Zw0A

DJ Hero.
youtube.com/watch?v=ZbZMzK_ZNPc

Attached: 1480226264834.jpg (900x1200, 115K)

Fucking same

What is the hardest song?

Rockband was the better made game. Guitar hero had terrible looking visuals and terrible motion captured drummers. The master recordings sounded way better on rockband too.

Guitar hero 3 had the easiest hammer on, pull off mechanic so anyone decently good at guitar hero could pass any of the songs. (Fire and flames was a different mix because for that song only, the rock meter was rigged that you would lose faster for same amount of notes missed on a regular song)

the worst thing about these games however, was the youtube comments that spawned.

>"UM, hello? Overcharted much?

I don't know, I think you are mental if you were crying about note placements in the solo of "Tornado of souls" (one of like the most requested songs to rockband ever)

>"ERRG, THEY WENT YELLOW RED YELLOW BLUE, DIDN'T THEY SEE THE GUITAR HERO CUSTOM SONG? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YELLOW RED YELLOW GREEN! ERRRG"

Guitar is the most normie instrument there is though.
Besides, I never would have picked up a real guitar without these games.

this is the only reason why I want a gaming pc, I have over 2,000 custom rock band songs but nothing can compare to the GH engine

Jordan

RB usually had more tracks and because of that better songs, but GHs presentation and controllers were all around better

If we're talking DLC, The Duel by Rusty Cooley fucked my hands pretty badly, that song was intense

>what is Clone Hero

Guitar Hero after II was pretty much just an official fangame. Stupid difficulty spikes included.

I find it impressive that not only did Harmonix carry over the music library, both on disc and DLC, from RB1, 2, and 3, but they even did it again on the new consoles. I didn't end up getting RB4 but they have my utmost respect for that.

Can you even find controllers anymore though?

>Guitar hero had terrible looking visuals

No shit. Who the fuck approved this? it worked in GH and GH2, but for some reason in GH3 they tried to slap "realistic" (for their time) textures on these cartoony bodies? What the fuck was activision thinking?

Attached: Male_singer.PNG.png (270x373, 127K)

The charting in III was pretty bad and overcharted, but I remember at least Metallica having all round good charts.

I just wish more of their DLC was better on the whole coming out. More older metal would be neat

>fat and out of shape
>terrible at rhythm games
>just played this for 4 hours straight
>has levels specifically designed to make you flail around and do massive swings
Jesus christ this is exhausting

Attached: beat-saber-9-1021x580.jpg (1021x580, 49K)

Spent so much time playing online bands in the first 2 games. Made a Batman drummer.

I just took my two broken ones and frankensteined them into one that works.
You can look around for 2nd hand ones, and I heard rumblings that someone is trying to custom make some new ones.
Also playable on keyboard but obviously not ideal. I'd take it over never playing again though.

Wish I could dance and have VR and not be poor.

youtu.be/DjnGfIpWrhA?t=41

the beat less

I have a midi keyboard last year I heard they were working a new game that would support keys and drums, any info on that?

I'm still mad how shit the second one ended

Rock Band is the better overall choice because of the DLC model and not needing to buy a million discs like Guitar Hero did at the end. I'd say RB2 was the single best game, but RB3 with the introduction of keys, the mainline DLC, and the RBN songs make it my personal favorite. Fuck Activision for running this genre into the ground, I still think these games are fun.

Attached: 1475361628140.gif (598x450, 16K)

If you could somehow line up the inpus, most of the Rockband keys charts got ported over.
Not sure about drums. I heard they're only planning 4 track which would fucking suck. Seperate cymbals á la GH WT or nothing.

Sorry sweaty, you are probably shit at composing.

Rocksmith now, Rocksmith tomorrow, Rocksmith forever
Five years later they're still pumping out weekly DLC, fucking awesome.

I just wanna say for real guitars, fuck B as a chord and all its derivatives.

I did, faggot. Rockband is still fun to go back to every now and then as a way to combine two good hobbies.

This could have been so good if not for the weak on disc setlist.

No no. Releasing GH On Tour, GH Smash Hits, GH Metallica, GH Van Halen, Band Hero, DJ Hero and GH5 in the same year isn't oversaturation. People just lost interest in the genre is all.

Rockband could have made a PC port but they tried scamming people into funding it via a crowdfund shit and it failed.

I know, they even Remastered it with a bunch of updates, then updated it further, not patching bugs but adding minor features like Mic mode and stuff.

I read about all these controllers falling apart a guitar can last a lifetime.

Rockband's biggest mistake was not releasing a PC version.

At the very least, we have Phase Shift and Clone Hero, and rips of both on disc and dlc charts from both rock band and guitar hero

Yeah were they asking for a million dollars or four? They still made a fucking Rockband VR as an exclusive for oculus rift. It needs the controller to track the guitar, the next oculus wont have the same controllers.

youtube.com/watch?v=kHPxjN3lhO4

Was that the three really long Tool songs back to back and they all sound the same? That shit was awful.
TTFAF. Jordon had a harder solo and a tighter hit window, but you could use that power thing to cheese half of it. TTFAF requires you to just suffer for 7 minutes.

>Rock Band and Guitar Hero tried to make a comeback on the new gen consoles a couple years ago

>Rock Band 4
>Had full backwards compatability with all the precious gen controllers (except the Keyboard and Pro Guita)
> Could import ALL of your previously purchased DLC from the previous games as well as the on disc soundtracks
>Basically everything you’d want and expect from Rock Band

>Guitar Hero Live
>Completely new control scheme
>Fuck you all your previous controllers are worthless
>Fuck any DLC you bought too
>In fact theres no DLC at all you can stream play any song you want for “free”
>Oh whoops we shut down that service now youre stuck with only the 40 songs on the disc forever

wtf was Activision thinking?

Attached: 1BD29525-7F8B-492B-AC32-0CEAD64C1C2F.jpg (650x640, 56K)

People who originally bought Rocksmith on consoles end up double dipping on the game and DLC because of how the game runs on PC and the constant DLC sales on steam. Something similar could've happened with Rockband.

>wtf was Activision thinking?
$

gh5 looked good tho

They wanted two million for it, which is fucking insane. Even with the licensing fees, they did not need that much money for it at all.

Trying something new, they couldn't compete with Rock Bands hype. It was far cheaper to make the game too FMV I bet.

Ubisoft, the makers of Rocksmith bought the developer years ago, I hope something comes out of it.

Aerosmith Guitar Hero was just 3 with the occasional Aerosmith song/model. They didn’t even bother to change the main menu or tutorial from 3

>Rock Band 4
>mfw I noticed that the light bar on the PS4 controller changes colors with the in game stage lights

Attached: F2F12BAA-A8A4-453B-BE81-D3CA7B5BD0ED.jpg (372x372, 28K)

Seriously. I picked up Rocksmith when the 2014 version released on PC and they've been getting a little less than ten bucks out of me every few months for like five years now.

They knew people just wanted it so they could mod custom songs into it.

clone hero

A healthy modding community has worked wonders for Rocksmith, my dude.

Clone Hero

Didn't they launch a crowdfunding campaign for a PC version that failed? Maybe it was a few years too late. Or maybe it's because they chose a literally who site instead of Kickstarter.

lead
rhythm
bass
drums
vocals

the tracks were easy as fuck but ill be damned if it wasnt comfy

Right now it's just called Project Note Hitter, and that's all anyone not involved knows.

Yeah, they don't allow official dlc and delete songs as they are released.

Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, Rock Band, Rock Band 2

Nothing else in either franchise exists.

Rock Band 3 is objectively better than 2.

Am I the only person in the universe who doesn't like Beatles?
They're just boring, like elevator music.

I don't like them either.

Rock Band 3 is shit becuase it got rid of genre personalities in your chacter. You could choose if you wanted to be rock, punk metal, or goth. In 3 they got rid of and just combined all of them together. It looks so fucking stupid when your singer is head banging to a song like wonderwall.

Guitar Hero 1+2+Rockband > Guitar Hero 3 > Activision Shovelware trash that got pumped out until no one liked the IP anymore just like all of their games.

The games were only good under Harmonix, Activision just did what they normally do and pumped out low effort trash until the genre died.

Attached: 1473395584442.png (600x728, 436K)

Bitch please

Attached: Guitar Hero Metallica.jpg (350x450, 56K)

You're a legit fucking retard.

Attached: Dn-OQ5jV4AEyHT9.jpg large.jpg (720x717, 39K)

Didn't like 3's tracklist outside of a few.

plenty of people dont like them but they are undeniably good
classic story of a bunch of nobodies working hard and making it with limited resources
combine that with THE TIMES and you have the beginnings of iconic music

I hate the fucking note track in this game. The cyan color is hideous and makes notes blend in on certain stages. Still enjoyed the game anyway and bought all the DLC before they got pulled.

Any of you guys tried Rock Band on the PSP? It's fucking great. It has a really odd playstyle where you have to play bass, drums, guitar and vocals all at the same time by switching "lanes" during the song. Shit gets crazy difficult.

>2112 was DLC for rockband at least. It was split up in parts but if you bought the parts as a pack you also got the whole song as one track

Unlike Guitar Hero

Forcing you to play shit keyboards so you could unlock good clothes and instruments is objectively shit.

I understand how much they have affected modern music. I just don't find their music enjoyable.

i disagree with you wholeheartedly, but at least you're not one of those "beatles didnt do anything important and everyone who likes it are retards" people so you have some respect from me

>45 Beatles songs
>28 Metallica songs, 21 from another band

Yeah I was so bummed that the "band specific" guitar hero games went in this direction.

DJ Hero

WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THE SHARE BUTTON BEING WHERE THE SELECT BUTTON USED TO BE WAS A GOOD IDEA

Attached: 61ealt-ZwgL._AC_.jpg (1236x795, 50K)

>partner with Mad Catz
>Mad Catz overestimates the popularity of RB4 pre-release and makes too many controllers
>ends up one of the reasons the company dies a few years later
>later partner up with PDP
>they barely do anything and their controllers were worse than Mad Catz

I'm going to be in a world of hurt once my Mad Cat and PDP controllers die as my GH3 and 5 controllers were already dying by the time 3 was out and I lost my converter for 360 guitars anyway.

Hey, kid: you need to stop listening to your ear rape pseudo-music garbage. Just like videogames, music has been absolute garbage for over twenty years now. The sooner you realize this, the better off we'll all be.

Go listen to The Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, etc, etc, etc. Stop listening to your garbage. You'll understand. Same with videogames, if you'd quit playing today's garbage and play 80s and early 90s games, you'd understand.

The Beatles we're hacks that didn't do anything for music.

rockband because the hit detection isn't fucking cocks

Rock band 4 by a mile. Is anyone in this thread playing on ps4 online right now like I am?

How can you not feel anything in a song like In My Life?

Rock Band, simply because they're STILL releasing weekly DLC, even if it's rereleasing old tracks they lost the rights to

RB3 had no songs I really knew or enjoyed playing aside from Free Bird, but even that song was artificially difficult instead of the notes being logical to a real guitar

Holy bad taste Batman. Holy great bait Batman.

t. Dadrocker
The Beatles are important and well respected due to cultural influence. They're nothing too special from a technical perspective but they changed the popular musical norms and trends of the time while continuing to innovate their sound without falling into a rut

I'm in my early 30s so I'm probably older than you and I listen to and enjoy many bands from that era. Beatles have just never done much for me.

>10+ years later and I still can't beat Jordon on Expert
>mfw it's impossible now because my hands are absolute shit now and can't handle tough sessions like that anymore

Just play an actual guitar

>tfw I never got the Bladder of Steel achievement in Rock Band 2

Anybody else buy a real guitar then sell it later when it wasn't as fun?

>They're nothing too special from a technical perspective

Their first three albums have amazing guitar work. Especially on John's rhythm guitar.

I'm Gabe Newell.
youtube.com/watch?v=yyJ48-BYb7s

As a drummer this fucking sucked. Fuck Ringo.

Their song selections for the past half year or so have been pure shit and basically amount to whatever crap they can salvage from RBN. I miss back when they had the money and clout to get music people actually heard of.

>tfw only child but still had beatles rock band

I really enjoyed the rock band network so I've been digging the last few months of dlc.

my nigguh, dj hero was sick

What did Ringo even do? They could have put Yoko behind the set and she could have done the same job.

who /played guitar hero for years but still fucking shit at it/ here?

Attached: 1546088262588.png (600x390, 210K)

Beatles are the most marketed band. They weren't revolutionary, their marketing team was.

I still hate how they dropped keys support in RB4. I freaking loved that stupid little keyboard controller. They couldn't even keep the keyboard tracks in ported over songs to be played on the guitar controller like you could in RB3, noooo.. gotta remove all trace of the keyboard existing period.

I like the Beatles but this game sounds boring as shit

Guitar Hero 1-3 were the peak of the genre, with 2 being the best out of all of them. They're filled with personality and soul, made by passionate people who you can tell really loved this game. The most important part of these games is the track list, and GH2 has everyone beat by miles, with a huge selection of songs across the dozens of subgenres of rock. Meanwhile, Rock band has a mediocre soundtrack of shitty indie rock and alternative and only improved when they got the rights to better songs. Since day 1, rock band felt like and has been nothing but a hollow soulless ripoff of GH, but I'll admit it's fun with friends. Anyone who thinks rock band is a better game can fuck off.

a good chunk of those were either songs that Metallica covered (Stone Cold Crazy, Tuesday's Gone, etc.) or artists that inspired/paralleled Metallica.
if you want a purist band experience, yeah, it sucks, but i can respect the way they went with Metallica. Aerosmith and Van Halen were shite tho

>They weren't revolutionary

Attached: 1541200857240.png (713x611, 26K)

>What did Ringo even do?
Nothing, but he's not a very technical drummer so the hardest song in The Beatles Rock Band would be like a tier 4 at best in the main game.

I can literally download a midi and "clean" it so it only plays the keyboard part. They could've just supported midi keyboard s and not make new rock band keyboards. I guess some animations and models were out of the budget?

singing Bohemian Rhapsody with multiple microphones was peak kino

Wii version because you could use based Wii GH guitars and download the entire DLC catalog for free with modding

Attached: IMG_20190330_065433_20190409010849850.jpg (1536x2048, 1.73M)

Keyboardist characters in RB3 animated pretty shitty anyway and you lost your bass player for some reason. When RB4 was announced I was hoping you could finally have all 5 members on the stage but nope. Didn't matter much anyway since the character creator in 4 managed to be even more limited than the one in 3 and you still couldn't select personalities.

I meant what did he do for the band because there's not much there drumwise.

rockband fret buttons
guitar hero pick button

The faggots in this thread that don’t like the Beatles lmao fags

Clone hero objectively since it’s just all those games in one since you can download all those charts, and then modding support,

Phase shift is same but shittier hit detection, but supports more instruments, fantastic being able to set up huge parties with insane amounts of players like 16 across multiple large tv’s.

For the official games rock band has more variety, but comparing the charting quality late guitar hero is far better than rock band. Nowadays custom charts in the big name setlists that get released are far better. Honestly the old rockband charts are hilariously shit, can’t believe how far charting has come.

I still can’t believe both games didn’t add open notes to lead guitar and had them exclusive to bass for so long, wtf were they thinking.

>Wii shop died.

Rip free downloads. At least I still have fuckload of songs on my SD.

Attached: 1543796926765.png (112x128, 34K)

I miss when Guitar Hero was a fun rhythm arcade game instead of an autistic party game for normies.
It stopped being fun when the song balance went out the fucking window since they had to account for all the instruments and the vocals when determining difficulty.
Guitar Hero 1+2 are peak kino, the rest is casual party shit

I enjoyed the challenge of a solo rhythm game, so Guitar Hero for me. Rock Band just seemed so focused on multiplayer and DLC,

>Rock Band just seemed so focused on multiplayer and DLC,
This is kinda ironic considering Guitar Hero went so deep into being a shallow party game filled to the brim with DLC and monthly spin off releases that Activision basically killed the genre with over saturation and market fatigue

holy hell this is terrible.

Only big boys can post here

Why do rhythm games have to be such cancer? So much DLC and other jewery.

Jesus fucking christ this takes me back to 2007 when GH was hot shit and Expert guitar players were paraded as gods of video games and the angry boomers/musicians/lazy people were shitting on them left and right.

Fuck every single member of Led Zeppelin for refusing even a SINGLE song to GH/RB because "if you want to play one of our songs, learn an instrument". Elitist bullshit because playing RB/GH indirectly gets you interested in learning a new one.

Because getting licenses to put actual songs in your game is expensive

I'm waiting for Project Note Hitter.

rockband had better music, guitar hero was just better gameplay over all.

plus rockband guitars and drums were fucking shit.

legit faggot. DJ Hero was a fucking diamond. Been meaning to dig it out for a while now, Pixies v Prodigy was the shit. u cunt

because they had a crowdfunding for PC version of rock band

surprising no one, it failed because anyone interested in RB was already playing PS/CH for free

pc gamers don't buy games

DJ Hero 2's presentation was so cold and clinical compared to the first game. Wonder why they did that.

me and a friend were doing the coop version of that but didn't know the achievement was a thing and did it twice in the same day so we could get that achievement.

to try and differentiate it from guitar hero probably

unrealistic timing window. gh3 and 6 was where its at. as a guitarist back then those felt most natural.

Rockband.

The drums with cymbal expansions are unbeatable.

GH because it evolved into Clone Hero.

I think I spent more time with the various Guitar Hero games than Rock Band, but I’m not sure I have a major preference. I do know I played the fuck out of World Tour since it had Ozzy in it.

Lately I’ve picked up Rocksmith which is fun despite not being able to really play any songs completely yet.

Remember the Rock Band Pro Guitar?

The button version is still in my closet.

The only hard part of "Through the fire and the flames" on expert is the intro and I'm like 90% certain that was a dude on piano.

Their guitarist recorded it on a guitar and then they sped it up for the album
they play it on real speed live though

For me, its DJ Hero.

Um, he wrote Octopus' Garden and uh...

>what is the red snake of death

Amazing how that's dream theaters only good song
But boy is it good

I tried Clone Hero but I used the no need to strum the notes mod and when it got to a section that spammed a lot of 1 note in a row (like lots of greens) I felt like the game didn't register my keys even if I set two keys for each colour.
old Jam Legend tap player here

The Beatles is great but that game is fucking awful
the hardest song in the game is so fucking boring to play
even as a Beatles fan and all the fan service they did, it's really unfun

Singing three part harmony with your bros is fucking great

yes but you need an adapter for it

technically there's a free program you could use instead but input lag is kind of eh

Rock band pulls ahead only because it has tons of songs and genres and instruments to play, which are crucial for a game like this. Some of my best memories are of getting drunk with my neighbors and playing 4 player lady gaga songs at 3am

But guitar hero had better gameplay and better instruments, the songs overall were composed better and felt better to play on guitar hero and the guitar hero controllers are a million times better than the shitty spongy rock band controllers.

At the end of the day I've still gotta go with Rock Band just because access to so many songs makes it the best party game of all time. If you can get guitar hero controllers working with it then the game becomes way better.

they did and it was fig, the double fine thing
there technically is a rock band for pc but you need an oculus rift to play it and it’s not great

>tfw you got your first fbfc on tom sawyer with online buddies after you did everything in your power to git gud at the solo

You can dislike them, but saying stuff like Tomorrow Never Knows is like elevator music makes you objectively incorrect and deaf.

>Guitar Hero or Rock Band?
Rocksmith

>ctrl+f "Guitar Freaks"
>no results
You are all fucking plebs. The lot of you.

>Now that the dust has settled, Guitar Hero or Rock Band?
Neither, Guitar Freaks is superior.

clone hero

I highly doubt anyone in this thread that doesn't live near a round1 has played Gitadora

My fucking niggas.

I guess i'm just too old. Don't forget you're here forever.

>Seinfeld is unfunny
Basically something comes up that is so good and so different that everything after it is a cheap imitation, to the point that the original good thing just seems like a common thing, even just another imitation to those who are introduced to the imitations first.

Not him but all of the artists you listed are fantastic and I like them, there's just something about The Beatles I can't get into. Still respect what they did for music though

>Why do you play tony hawk? just get a real skateboard and ollie ten feet instantly, poser!
