God yes, Claptastic voyage is one of the best DLCs in the entire series ad a must-play, it is absolutely the best of TPS. The arena mode is pretty standard but good fun as well.

The Destroyer was just another Vault Guardian, same as the Warrior. Angel spun it into being an evil monster to encourage the BL1 Hunters into killing it so that Jack could reap the Eridium it was guarding.

Borderworlds was the original title for Borderlands. It was copyrighted by Gearbox in 2009, long before Destiny came out. The original idea is that vaults were given for the strongest humans to find. The vaults would help us fight the race that made the Eridians. It was a Prometheus (hence Promethea) reference. Anthony Birch was lead writer on BL2 but only a "contributor" on TPS, and he's credited as such. Because the 2K devs used his lore shit and characters from BL2. There were no plans for a new BL game in 2014 as TPS just came out and Randy was up his own ass about how great BL2 was. He wanted to go work on other games and didn't even plan on BL3. I know he said they've been working on it for 5 years, but that's a lie. It's been roughly 3.5-4 years. You're a LARPer.

Gearbox is posturing to make a new trilogy for Borderlands, with BL3 being the first. It's not a reboot but it won't dwell too heavily on the deep lore stuff from the earlier games. It's going to feel like a somewhat fresh start with a continuation of some story elements. Lorefags will be disappointed.

There pretty much isn't any lore to Borderlands anyway. Basically the gist is that governments no longer exist, corporations rule the galaxy, sirens are giften women, of which there can only be six, Eridians are a powerful race that we know little about, Pandora is a border planet colonized by Dahl seeking Eridian tech after Atlas found theirs, the inhabitants are colonists and criminals abandoned there when Dahl left.

Unless they're getting rid of that starting point, lorefags have nothing to worry about.

Man, I would like it if Borderlands came back for a couple games. Didn't know how much I missed it until it was gone. Didn't really play TPS but it was comforting knowing it was a game there I could fall back on.

I was wondering about the rationality for the EGS thing. I thought it was bizarre they would release 1 and 2 remasters on Steam and then say you can only play 3 on the EGS. It is good will indeed to give us the Steam stuff for free still weird. I can understand wanting to capture a new market over there if you're going to be starting a new trilogy. I could see some crossover with Fortnite due to gunplay and art style.

Any idea what the DLC plans are? Borderlands 2 got crazy with the DLC and I was confused why they would do the headhunter DLC so long after release.

Yes. Everything is on a smaller scale.

There are moments like the Underdome, or the Circle of Duty where the action is constant, but otherwise its slower.

However, the weapons and characters are designed for that, with perhaps the exception of a Berserking build Brick.

There's going to be DLC for BL3. It's a no-brainer. There will be story DLC and stuff like Underdome where it's just arenashit.

Here's the surprise though: There's going to be "free" DLC for BL2. You'll have to sign up for the social club stuff to get it. There is a new rarity and new weapons are being added to BL2 to tie people over until BL3. Also new skins. So keep BL2 updated. Unfortunately you'll have to sign up for social club shit and do surveys and watch videos to earn points that you can spend on rewards. But you get "free" shit if that matters to you.

We're still not sure how the "multiple action skills" thing are going to work. In that pic we see Amara doing her phaselock ability, yet we've also seen her do a ground pound and form an astral projection. Could be possible that you pick between the three and only use one at a time which is disappointing. But maybe you unlock the others at different levels.

They fixed that this time around. In BL3 you'll choose to level up. If you don't want to, you'll never have to. You can upgrade your abilities separately from leveling with xp. So you could fill out a skill tree and still be level 20. Spending your xp on leveling is what will increase health/damage/etc of everything. So it'll be about finding your sweet spot. You might find lvl 50 too bullet-spongey. But you might find lvl 20 too easy. So you can stop around 30/40 and then just fill out your character's skills.

Maybe activating your action skill puts you in an "action skill mode", and from there you can execute various different moves. So activating Amara's action skill spawns the astral arms around you for 15 seconds, and from there you can ground pound, phaselock, etc. Activating Moze's action skill spawns the mech and from there you can use various different weapon systems on the mech. Activating Fl4k's puts him in Beastmaster mode where he can cycle through summons and shit. Explains why there there's only one action skill symbol yet we've seen various action skill-esque abilities for each class (as well as confirmation from the leaks that there's multiple skills)

So how does that work with multiplayer?

I got Borderlands handsome collection of Xbox one when it came out and never beat them. Is it okay to play them without playing 1? And if I do decide to play 1 is it okay to get PC version although I have the other two on Xbox?

There was a third party memory patch that fixed it. IDK why Gearbox never patched it. The game was only allowed to use 2GB of Ram by the OS, because of the way the game was coded. So when you got to Opportunity, the water and shiny shit would eat up more memory, and cause an exception. The patch made it so the game was allowed to use 4GB.

the enemies scale to the player, but there is a minimum level. If you start the DLC and are immediately slaughtered, you should come back later.

1 didn't really have a plot beyond 'find vault, get rich' and the only plot twist gets described in detail during the intro scene of 2, so honestly you're not missing out. If you want to play 1, I'd say definitely get the remaster, the original had a lot of stuff just different enough that it's mildly unpleasant to go back to after playing 2 and TPS

I think the idea is that while he did do his fair share of nasty shit before the events of TPS, he still had some humanity and decency left in him, but the events of TPS eroded those, which culminates in Lilith scarring his face which drove him right over the edge.

Judging by the magazine, yeah it could as well be an AR. But it could also be a sniper rifle shooting explosive ammo, hence the big magazine.

That's their lore explanation but gameplay and story do not match. S&S weapons had just the right combination of good overall stats while also having the largest magazines. Their niche would have been more accurately described as "leagues better than most everyone's shit EXCEPT for certain actual niches".

quasar and twister is god tier for mobbing
zero has b0re which creates another bullet and since the twister already has penetraion you can get double the projectiles and ambush will proc if if the pellets hit them again in their back
gaige has many skiils that boost shock damage and also has nth degree which is like b0re but doesnt get a damage bonus but the projectiles will seekout another enemy
maya has chain reaction which is like nth degree but chance based but can proc multiple times per pellet but also is only active when an enemy is phaselocked
hardest part is getting a twister

I thinking first one is laser in beam mode but with wiggly physics, third is railgun but with Eridian corruption. Second I think its just a grenade launcher with very bright trails for whatever reason, though I can surmise that leaving easily visible trails is good for gameplay when enemies start using them against you.

I think that with Hyperion getting the new gun shield mechanic they might steal the usual E-Tech wings or flaps for their visual signature while new E-Tech guns will have that tentacle shit on them.

I'm interested in the design of the new Atlas guns. They seem like they are more like arm attachments rather than weapons you hold with stocks and handles. I wonder if this is a nod at Rhys having a prosthetic arm so he likes making guns that can replace or easily fit onto your arm.

The vault sigil is maybe permanent, and cannot be fixed, "attached to him" or something.
If he could fix it he would probably have fixed it.

Worse level design, the moon is very samey, far less content, poor end game, dialogue is far worse than 2s which at least had high points, loot was handled really poorly with some uniqes being in farmable. Cryo, lasers, vault hunters talking more, and the skill trees were all very well done and an improvement over 2 though. I fucking wish they had patched TPS characters into BL2.

You can reset your playthrough on UVHM. But yeah I do hope BL3 keeps the system BL2 had of each weapon having a select source, but I hope they also blend it with BL1s system of having everything as a world drop with a low drop chance as well.
