Are his games overrated?

Attached: 382718.jpg (550x719, 56K)

I like them.

Yes. Fuck Megaman

Which ones are your favorites?
Fuck you.

Which hand is the best?

Attached: D3jKIsLV4AIlo3M.png (800x800, 238K)

Yeah, original Mega Man isn't even good, at least the X games are half-decent.

Not really, speaks volumes when its indie shitter knockoffs cant replicate what makes the series good.

Attached: 1553417104205.png (510x574, 84K)

his legacy is juuuust right. everyone knows who he is and what his games are about, yet not cancerous enough to warrant 5 threads a day

Which ones?

Tundra
Classic, though if you think a different one is more overrated, that works too.

Attached: 1548874554378.jpg (950x1600, 145K)

They consistently have "decent" to "good" scores rather than "great" or "perfect", so no. They're not overrated.

again, which ones? there's tons of them.

Classic then.

>reading comprehension

Settle down, Inafune.

Attached: 52-NksorNoMore060.png (480x320, 13K)

The only one I think is overrated is Classic 2. The rest of the series is either underrated or rated about where it should be.

>try megaman 1
>how hard could it be

Attached: 1486850147842.jpg (768x1024, 84K)

>Falzar
Worst version.

He's got a lot of different games, user.

it's really not that hard if you know what you're doing.

Please don't bully Shuko.

Shuko a cute.

Did the Guardians even know the real X? They are literally parts of DNA soul given bodies.

Attached: 47569259_p0.png (1158x1307, 1.64M)

*his

Nah.
According to extended material when X sealed the Dark Elf his soul kind of shattered.

So the Cyber Elf X you see in the Zero games is kind of just the fragment that kept his personality and memories.
The other fragments somehow were became the 4 guardians.

Makes me want to see what full power X was like if Cyber Elf X is just a shard of X's original power.

Might have been able to stop Omega when he first crashlanded back on Earth. It took both X and Zero during the Elf Wars to stop him and I assume he would have gotten stronger in the intervening years.

Does that mean X was always gay for Zero?

Okay to roll it back a bit.
It's hard to tell how much the Four Guardian's are part of X.
They could be anything from his clones, to his fragments to his children really.
I like to think of them as fragments that grew into their own people but they didn't elaborate too much on it IIRC.

Still the answer to the original question remains that the Four Guardians never actually met the original X before the Zero series started.

Considering it seems like X is able to adapt or upgrade as times change I figure the century or so of fighting alone should have given him a massive stat boost.
Even had time to give the Z-saber the charge function, suggesting he used it a fair bit in the interim.

Megaman X >>>>>>>> every classic game

It's from a modded LP that added Gregar fights and changed SpoutMan's name back to normal.

Oh come on he liked Megaman.
He liked him so much that he decided to replace him with his OC Donut Steel, Zero! Wait a minute...

X isn't Megaman.

Long time fan. Overated as fuck, but fuck you, its great.

>a robot's soul fragmented and became five different other robots magically
Why is the Zero series's plot so fucking stupid? And before anyone mentions it, X isn't much better.

Attached: It really gets the Negi Joggin'.jpg (665x673, 30K)

Because Inafune and Inticreates are hacks.

stahp

Imagine if Inti knew how to write a prologue that isn't "there was a massive war and everyone fucking died" or an ending that isn't "everyone fucking dies because we need to tie it into the next series chronologically and fuck you"

Attached: 9fdd98d9f236a1b09736f4dfef8f620e.png (623x1100, 892K)

I mean, you could argue that the series just transitions into sufficiently advanced technology being indistinguishable from magic, but I somehow doubt inafking is really that smart or clever.

What is Copy X then? Is he a clone, or just another robot that happens to be perfectly based on his designs?

Attached: 44469683_p0.jpg (1448x2048, 552K)

Copy X was built by Ciel when she was like fuckin 5 and is supposed to be an actual perfect copy of his hardware. He was then told that he was standing in for the real X while he was asleep and left to rule Neo Arcadia unchecked and with none of the memories or experience of the real X, not to mention he didn't spend 100 years in a capsule undergoing morality testing. He ended up developing an inferiority complex because of it, among other things.

Craft was a lucky motherfucker.

Attached: 64571912_p29.png (1200x918, 1.16M)

For some reason the governments in the Zero series were trying to make Super smart genetically enhanced children to be next level scientists.
Somehow Ciel of all people, managed to perfectly duplicate X's systems when she 4 or 8 or something because she was one of those super genius test tube babies.
So he's a perfect copy of X's base systems, but X was put through ethics tests for a over a century (though Light originally planned for 30 years) and had centuries fighting for humanity under his belt. Copy X though was basically a new born robot and had none of that testing so Copy X was naiive as shit.
Said naiive retard was then put int charge of ruling the world because that was X's job before he "died".
I have no fucking clue why they couldn't just give X a new body while his old one sealed the Dark Elf nor why X's cyber elf told literally no one of anything before Zero showed up.

>it takes literal genetic engineering to match the intellect and skill of scientists from two centuries ago
I know the Maverick and Elf Wars took their toll but come the fuck on.

>I have no fucking clue why they couldn't just give X a new body while his old one sealed the Dark Elf nor why X's cyber elf told literally no one of anything before Zero showed up.
I'd like to think that's a remnant of the original story. Remember that Zero 1 had the main antagonist be the real X until right up to the end of development before Capcom slapped their shit and told them to stop it. There's an interview that said they barely had time to change anything in the plot.
It's a huge, dumb plot hole, but it was one caused by time constraints and last minute changes.

Wait, what?

I'm happy that Inafune at least wasn't retarded or spiteful enough to make X himself the bad guy.
Would have made going through the X series feel like shit as I'm powering up the future villain.

The original plot for Zero 1 was that X turned into an evil extremist who basically acted like Copy X.

You say that, but his hands were too big to rub her belly

Attached: 7403072_p0.jpg (800x850, 522K)

I wish capcom had the balls to let X be the bad guy, it could have been great.

That sounds fucking stupid. Thank god Capcom stamped that shit out.

No.

Attached: 1550014256804.png (680x680, 220K)

Yes

It also would have made no sense Aizu, fuck off.

Attached: 13476524278465.png (1000x1000, 471K)

It's would have been quite something to have to kill the past protag of the previous series with Inafune's OC(who was literally made to be evil).

Man I wonder how the series would have gone if someone just told Inafune no during X2 about resurrection Zero.

It would depend on whether or not people would keep playing the games just for X. Zero was popular enough to carry his own series. For the sake of imagination though, I imagine Maverickism might not have been based on a virus but instead would have remained a result of either misfiring circuits or genuine free will.

Attached: 64571912_p32.png (1000x791, 498K)

What is this, 2008?

It was meant to go along with X's ending in X4. X fears that he would eventually become a maverick himself and makes Zero promise to take him out if that happens. Z1 was supposed to be X becoming a maverick and Zero following through on that promise.

X being self aware enough to prepare a plan for that is exactly why he wouldn't though.

Attached: 1426243524536.jpg (285x285, 26K)

Well, I'm not saying it was a good plot, just pointing out the connection.

Well, Zero put himself in hibernation without X knowing about it until it was too late. Zero was his failsafe plan and without him around to stop him, anything could have happened.

Attached: 1547587824966.png (591x515, 252K)

His mac and cheese game was on point. That's why Neige fell for him.

X wouldnt let his creator down like that.

How'd he change through 2 and 3 again?

>actual rockman games that are just level select and all action
Not overrated
>fucking rockman x storygames with shit controls
Overrated as living fuck

Bombman -> Gutsman -> Cutman -> Elecman -> Iceman -> Fireman

I don't think his creator took into account his creation having to fight non-stop for over a century

Attached: 57257105_p0.png (900x1380, 813K)

he had a bit of a fall in 2 but came around, and in 3 he became a chad

Lately I keep hearing that Star Force was good.
It's making me curious. For years and years I heard it was terrible.

Is there a little romhack project or anything where I can play as Quake Woman
I read the archie comic series and just kind of enjoyed it, and I like the twintails and shade of green

Attached: QuakeWoman34.jpg (761x958, 783K)

In 2 he was little bit more open but still reserved. In 3 he became giga chad forming links with everyone

I want Legends 3

i think people mostly remember fondly star force 3, which is great and has nice replay value, nice story and its the ending some megaman series dont get

Not that I'm aware of, sadly. Shame too, she was cute.

Attached: 1515982923411.jpg (494x749, 45K)

He absolutely did though, he was tested for a century on ethical decision making. Further still, he developed X to evolve specifically in case he did have to fight, he saw what had happened to OG Mega Man. Wily's actions made him acutely aware of the dangers ahead.

I have my doubts about Light having X deal with genocide and near extinction scenarios. The Wily Light knew was basically a Saturday morning cartoon villain.

Well, the go to call is 2. As for other series, I do think X4 is overrated

Why does Inti Creates keep trying to make games about blue guys when all they really want to do is make games about red guys?

Attached: 14365742654243.jpg (441x512, 34K)

>Game 1: You play as ElecMan.
>Game 2: You play as ElecMan and MegaMan.

Also MegaMan is a fucking racist.

Gunvolt is based around tagging enemies with your bullets and then activating an electric sphere called Flashfield to damage your enemies. If you use it too much or get hit too many times, though, you'll overheat and be unable to attack for a bit.

It's largely based around building up a large score so that you get powered up by J-Pop.

Structurally it's pretty similar to the Zero games. You get graded on how well you play and your score unlocks stuff and gives you more rewards. You use those rewards to get better equipment.

They should make more games about red girls

Is Rosenkreuzstilette allowed in this thread?

It tries to sell itself as being like Mega Man, but it really isn't. At all. It's not even like MMZ.

I'll play the sequel to it one day.

why does that keeps happening?

The game doesn't think you're on the ground so your falling speed is constantly increasing while you're on the moving platforms because MM1 is X7 levels of jank

X turning maverick would certainly have been a ballsy move. Certainly more impactful than Copy X but with flaws of its own.

Attached: tumblr_n88bweBUGo1tbonq5o1_1280.png (480x640, 82K)

no, I think megaman X is a great game

It's a lot of little things. The parts system they introduce is needlessly complicated and is something that you need to waste a lot of time in an incredibly counter intuitive way in order to get the most benefit from. The bosses themselves slowly become damage sponges through the course of the game, getting to their worst when you need to fight them in the Sigma stages. The plot is absolutely fucking stupid, which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't need to constantly mash through it, especially when you want to get one of the endings when all three are heavily affected by RNG. A lot of the music feels bland, with very few songs having any actual punch or dynamicism. The armors are all garbage too, and the way they're implemented is fucking insulting. You don't slowly obtain new armor parts as you go through the game, gaining new pieces to make yourself more powerful and open up new options. You have to get every piece of an armor before you can even use it, and a lot of the time they're loaded with downsides, like how the falcon armor can't fucking airdash. Sorry if this seems all over the place, but there are so many little things about it that just congeal into this giant clusterfuck.

I love this artist's Atlas.

No they’re bretty gud casual filters

Anymore?

How do I get better at making levels in Mega Man Maker? I really struggle to make levels with similar feel to the games themselves. Should I play through the series again?

Attached: 1525452288508.jpg (500x631, 54K)

Probably wouldn't hurt. You could also look at how some higher-rated levels do their thing and see what they incorporate in their levels. The important thing though is making sure the people that go through your stage have fun.

I guess it would help yeah. As long as the levels themselves don't feel like a chore for people go though I think that's a good enough job.

I want Inti-Creates to stop making games on the selling point of "it's kind of like megaman zero!" and then making games that aren't Megaman Zero.
