2010's when we got the /vp/ board, pokefags had flooded the entire board with Speculation for Black and White as well as the just Released HG/SS. It pretty much set the precedent for /vg/ when people started demanding games be taken off the board if they got too popular and given their own containment area.

Because the entire point of /vg/ isn't to browse, it's to find your particular community and discuss the game there. That doesn't mean there isn't e-celeb shit, it just means it happens in the threads themselves.

I'm not him, I actually browse /vg/ but unlike you I don't have delusions about its posting quality. It has some helpful generals like /hbg/ but game/series generals are rife with circlejerks, tripfags, and the general low quality posts you deride Yea Forums for.

It's funny how even the Mario and Zelda franchises have tried new things and evolved, whereas Pokemon at best introduced team battles as a new gameplay "feature". Pokemon is ridiculously stagnant considering its popularity.

I wish Nintendo could just grapple Game Freak's share of ownership away, and just develop Pokémon titles of their own in-house.
