Is the 2/3DS still worth getting over the switch?

Is the 2/3DS still worth getting over the switch?
Should I wait for new switch versions?
Handheld mode only.
$100 vs $300

3DS right now has more and better games
That said, it's pretty much dead and Nintendo won't be doing anything with it anymore

More, perhaps, not sure about better. Its library was pretty disappointing and it's all over now

3DS is better as a pure handheld device

3DS is awesome if you like to emulate. Nintendo sells refurbished 2DS for 60 bucks
I'd wait on the switch.

Would have a switch if Nintendo didn't participate in the 'Pay to play online' practice

Maybe somewhat disappointing compared to the DS but it's still way ahead of the Switch.

Handheld mode? Definitely.

Get a 3DS, homebrew it, and get access to
>Almost every previous handheld Nintendo game
>Almost every NES and SNES game
>Every eshop game
>custom ROMs, apps, and emulators
>The ability to pirate any 3DS game
>The ability to backup saves and move your physical library to digital

In terms of content, the 3DS homebrewed is alot better than Switch right now. If you get a Switch purely for homebrew in comparison, you'll only have access to Switch games, Switch eshop games, and certain emulators.

Damn that sounds quite epic desu

im actually impressed to see theres actual decently analytical people in this board

For the price of a Switch you could get a 3DS and a Vita, hack both, and have enough games to play for a few years.

the 3DS has a lot of great games

Yes, grab a n3DS or n2DS XL and hack that shit. Well worth $100.

Bought a new 2DS xl a couple weeks ago and it's probably the best console purchase I ever made. Less than $200 for the console, r4i gold card, and 128gb micro sd card and I've got every 3DS/DS/GBA/NES/SNES game I want on one device.

This is the latest chart I could find. It's outdated as fuck so just add anything released from 2017 to now worth noting.

>2/3DS still worth getting
It was never worth getting. Good simplistic graphics games aren't really prevalent on the 3DS. Instead you get games that were designed for 1080p stuck on a screen that isn't even half that. I mean that literally since there are games with 1080p assets on the 3DS. If you want to play any 3DS games, you are best emulating them with the graphics they were designed to be played with. Honestly the system would have been so much better if the games were designed with the screen's limitation in mind instead of going for detailed 3D screens.

Also the 2nd stick on the Switch will keep you from tearing your hair out unlike the shitty nub on the 3DS.

this desu

Don't forget the TG-16/PC-Engine/Super CD. temperPCE works great!

I've googled a little and found various homebrew methods. What's the method of choice?

N2DSXL is a great value, but the build quality and speakers are total garbage.

Windwaker and TP should have been remade for the 3DS and not Wii U.
Imagine being able to play the only 4 "good" zeldashits on one portable system.
