What video games can I play on it?
What video games can I play on it?
>OSX
unless you install boot camp or whatever, nothing
>mac
I thought plenty of games had Mac support?
Plus it has a 580 GPU, that’s gotta be capable.
>applel
Almost all games are Windows-only and iMac is constantly throttled and has horrible graphics drivers, you don't want that.
It costs more than double of a desktop with similar specs and OSX has nogames.
Name a desktop with better specs, a 5K display, and better design/chassis.
jfc that's so expensive for that hardware what the fuck. spend literally a third of that on a pc you absolute retard
>5k display
>can't run games at 1080p at a decent framerate
this is why only artistfags care about macs
What a catastrophe
27 inch 1080p. Completely unusable.
Also it’s called 4K movies
>Name a desktop with better specs,
just look through pcpartspicker
>5K display
>and better design/chassis.
Stop wasting money on dumb shit, the all-in-one form factor means it runs as hot as a laptop meaning that it has to be constantly throttled.
Trust me, my sister had an iMac and it was abysmal for games even with bootcamp and the HDD died twice for no good reason and the whole thing died for good.
Spoiler alert
I won’t actually be getting it for games
It's not good for anything else either, you are overpaying for a mediocre product purely because of brand name.
OP isnt buying this. The demographic for these types of computers do not exist on Yea Forums unless this dude is doing some hardcore video editing or something and needs it for work. Otherwise the people buying this are dumb rich people that don't care about value, they just want an apple and the high price only adds to its appeal.
Just do Hackintosh bro
Why are you asking what games you can play on it then?
Mac isn't better for hardcore video editing or work, it has a mediocre processor.
Because I find it funny it has a 580 in it.
I guess for the 5K screen.
>Buying an iMac when Radeon VII gets official support next Mojave update
Nigger I know vidya is not your priority if you're getting a Mac and you're probably gonna be editing video or something along those lines but don't be a fucking retard and build a Hackintosh.
That iMac is $2300. Here's what you can get with $2300:
>i7 8700K
>Overclock-compatible Gigabyte mobo
>64gb of 3000MHz Ram
>Radeon VII
>A pretty looking liquid cooling AIO from NZXT
>A crystal case with like 8 LED fans inside
And on top of that you can play the vidya by dualbooting Winblows. Hell, go 32gb ram and a regular air cooler and get yourself a nice monitor or some shit.
How is that funny? What the fuck is the point of this thread?
Not him but is it really that easy to build a hackintosh? I thought that you would need to find compatible parts to build with first? Are all of these compatible?
>that easy to build a hackintosh?
Gotta do a lot of research before buying but it's not rocket science.
>I thought that you would need to find compatible parts to build with first?
Yes.
>Are all of these compatible?
The only compatible things you need to do research on is motherboard primarily and the CPU you want. If I'm not mistaken, all top of the line CPUs from Intel work, you just need a good mobo. Sadly the mobos that are easiest to set up are the most expensive ones, but you can get a compatible one for like $130-150.
Ram is not a problem and all current GPUs from AMD are supported out of the box.
>Radeon VII
Might as well just buy an Xbox One or PS4.
It's the most powerful GPU that's compatible with Mac, you absolute retard. Apple doesn't do Nvidia anymore.
Thats pretty good if all the newer intel stuff are compatible. Thanks, at least some good came out of this gay thread.
man my $900 built PC has better specs than this garbage
I stand by my point.
Buying a new GPU for a Mac, you might as well just go console or throw the fucking thing out and build a PC.
>-and build a PC
I see you chose to blatantly not read my post and only read a GPU model name.
Based retard. Never (you) me again.
I built a hackintosh about 6 years ago because I was convinced I needed OSX (I had a MacBook throughout college that was gifted to me).
I dont know if it’s changed much since but upgrading the operating system was a pain in the ass. Setup was easy and it mostly worked great but anytime an update with features that I wanted came out, I knew it was going to be a several hour headache.
