Lets put it this way: the entire main story up until the first credits is a massive slog where every boss fight besides the endgame is mindless besides "don't be here when shit hits". You'll be backtracking and going across the same areas a lot, it's a massive slog. The content for Level 50 and beyond picks up a bit more, though you'll need the DLC to actually really push on in levels or content extensively, I didn't reach the Heavensward expansion before the game drained me entirely.

Basically you use Jolt to proc Dualcast and then use an elemental spell (Veraero or Verthunder), and if that elemental spell procs another one you use it in place of Jolt. So Jolt -> Verspell -> Verfire/Verstone (if applicable), it revolves around using Dualcast to instantly cast your actual heavy-hitters.

To be fair to Gridannia, Uldah used to be the worst to get to the MB in, had to go all the way from the Weaver's Guild and snake around to get to them, the Sapphire Avenue aetheryte was only added in SB and even then it wasn't an immediate thing, want to say that only showed up around 4.2 or 4.3. At least prior to that it was a straight shot from the Leatherworker's Guild to the MB in Gridania.

DRG gets its own because they're special boys, they traditionally equip heavy-armor and have no reason not to in-game (it's not the same deal as SAM not equipping heavy armor anymore since they went with ronin over fully-armored samurai), and they can typically recolor tank gear or add a spike to it instead of doing anything unique for them

I'am assuming it means doing the typical baby pulls. "aka respecting the content". The only nigs that have a problem with this are usually healers who hate being bored or DPS that want to rush through.

Typically when I'am tanking I'am in no rush unless the healer thinks he can handle it. but if I see a "red flag" I'll abstain from rushing.

I notice more people complain about tank pulls at lower levels than higher, it's pretty sad because I can't imagine how shit this game must be for anyone who tries it for the first time.

Send your gathering retainers out on ventures to get crystals and shards. Level 1 ventures for shards, level 30 ventures for crystals. It only takes them about an hour, and they get a lot per run. Considering how damn easy it is to get ventures, there's no reason for you to ever run low on shards or crystals.

Far better jaggies removal, smoother SSAO, better draw distance, liquid detail still shit for both, far better DX11 and 12 API implementations, lighting system was also updates but they didn't implement too much dynamic ones on BFA because the new updates were made mid a expansion, will see the expansion.

Tanks are apparently being split into '2 tanks designed to be off tank, 2 tanks designed to be main tank' in shadowbringers so if you prefer tanking then it's probably best to have at least one of each 'role'

Watch Ishgard housing become not like the other housing areas, but a unique instanced house + garden you need to build up like Doman Enclave, which will solve the whole problem of lack of plots.

With the focus on "2 main tanks, 2 off tanks" it's practically guaranteed that PLD will be made into one of the main tanks, and WAR will be made into one of the off tanks. And given the way the community puts DPS above everything, it's likely we'll see a meta where the two "off tanks" are what everybody wants.

here are some tips if you are new to the game

clean up your UI. Standard settings make the game look needlessly cluttered for a new player. Minimize the interface, hide needless information, minimize name display, things like that

>quests
ignore sidequests. The main quest line is enough to level up your main class. Blue quests open up new features so they are also important. Sidequests are only good if you level secondary classes and want some extra story/interaction instead of just plain grinding, some of them have pretty cute stories

>classes
classes/jobs are the same thing. Classes turn into jobs after the lv30 quest. (like Thaumaturge turns into Black Mage)
you can learn and freely switch between any classes and level them up seperately after doing their lv10 introduction quests. Same with non-combat classes.
Non-combat classes are actually important, fun and complex in xiv.
your classes determine your starting zone; Limsa Lominsa is the comfiest starting zone but starts with the least interesting story. Uldah is what most people would consider the "canon" starting zone storywise.

also remember that the game starts out kinda slow, both story and gameplaywise, but starts to ramp up at around lv30 (free trial lv cap is 35 so it should still give you room to experience it)

WoW will almost certainly be back, it’s powered by pure recognition at this point and will only die after like three back to back godawful expansions, of which they’ve only released the first.
