Pokemon is the highest grossing franchise ever, everyone who grew up in the 90s or 2000s has seen Pokemon S1 & loved it. People buy the games due to wanting to recapture the feeling of the show. The theme song alone for S1 is up there with Star Wars & Spider-Man for sure

He should at least have more cameos in the games, hell only recently has he been mentioned, in both Detective Pikachu and Sun/Moon
