ITT: zoomer repellents in video games
Slow paced, strategy, tactics, realism, good gameplay, choices
No difficulty settings
Turn based in anything but Pokemon
Time limits
Actual gameplay
Graphics that don't use a dozen shitty postprocessing effects. They'll scream it's a PS2 game.
F to crouch
>No location markers/quest markers/objective directions beyond those that the characters themselves communicate to you
>No fully voiced dialogues (characters might have an intro quip when you click on them or have the first couple sentences pronounced voiced to give you an idea of what do they sound like)
>unorthodox control scheme
>game relies on the player understanding that its rules and adapting to them
>no scaled challenge - progression is entirely up to the player
>enemies that try to kill you instead of pretending to
Actually having to use in-game voice chat to get anything done in a team based game.
only good with mods
came here to post this
engineering, shitty graphics, realism, simulators
>you have to read in order to figure out what to do
30 fps
No tutorials
Hidden items/events that are difficult to find and permanent consequences for choices made. Typically produces complaints of "having to use a guide" even though that's quite the opposite intention of these things existing.
This is also journalist repellent judging by the reviews many (but not all) games like this get.
Being an RPG at all
Lives/Mans
Reading
Rogues
For real? Anything that doesnt hold their hand. FF7/FF9 remaster literally have a 'beat the game for me' and a God Mode button added.
you make your own fun
>Crusader Kings 2
>Victoria 2
>Mount and Blade
>Space Engine (not technically a game but still)
>Kerbal Space Program
It doesn't have an NPC that slowly walks in front of you telling you where to go in it
Manual camera
The sight of this logo
just beat Jak X for the first time the other day, after having played the trilogy extensively when they each came out.
solid game.
no on screen indicator telling you what button to press
an extensive tutorial
bonus points: being so unpopular there are no youtube videos to tell zoomers how to win immediately
An RPG with
no cutscenes
No voice acting
No map
No compass
No auto save
Turn based combat
Lack of progression or unlockables. I was showing my cousin some old arcade games the other day on one of those plug-n-play things. He asked why I would play them if there wasn't anything to unlock. Was a very weird old man moment.
that's surprisingly close to pic related
Based on this pic, are you Gen X, Millennial, or Zoomer? I'm a based Zoomer (born 98).
I was baby sitting a 5 year old, she wanted to play some of my old games, she likes Mario so I showed her Mario World.
She couldn't figure out how to walk and jump at the same time, I didn't bother teaching her how to run, it blew my mind that kids these days just don't have the skill to play something as simple as Mario World. They're too used to these automatic running games on their phones and iPads.
Arena Shooters
Essentially bad game design.
Say what you want about modern games, but Apex legends pinging system is based af
Core millennial
Born in 93, I remember our computer lab in school had those macs, that's still my favourite computer to this day. I've considered picking one up
tank controls and fixed camera angles.
Fucking this. Zoomers cannot into Arena shooters (Quake, DOOM). For some reason when the game is actually about who is better than who they got full blown autism. Only when they can meme and REEEEEE on their stream they can mask their shit play
>born in 1998
>nothing in this thread repelled me yet
ultimate cringola bros
Minecraft was definitely transitional earlyzoomer-corezoomer, why is it at the complete bottom right?
what Arena shooters are even active enough today anyhow?
Minecrap is full on zoomer
It came out right around when adventure time did so I consider it at the start of the core zoomer era
