Literally a baby game.
As a grown man I would be embarrassed to be seen playing this.

My neice loves this game, I see no entertainment value in it for a solo adult though

Why is it that the Yoshi noise in Odyssey made me feel really happy, and the noise in this game does not?

All videogames are toys. You should be ashamed to be seen playing any videogame past the age of 16.

I told you all that Wooly World, while not being the best Yoshi game or anything like that, was a really solid title that had a good, coherent artstyle and was pretty fun to play.
You told me to shut up and that it was a shit game that didn't measure up to the original.

So now, this is what you get.
We could've just had a Switch port of this and everything would've been fine, but no, you HAD to ask for something different.
And now here we hare.
Yoshi as a series is probably going to die now.

>yoshi
>she
Anyone playing yoshi games is a gay male.
Or at the very least, bi.
That's where the entire sterotype comes from, if you picked Yoshi in smash back in the day you grow up to be gay or bi.

I agree. Nintendo could easily make a casual mode and a normal mode for all their fans about 12 and arent female. What's funny is they did this with odyssey yet normal mode was still piss fucking easy. Itd be very easy mode for any other platformer.

You'll find her user. Get some respect for yourself first.

Yoshi games are always cute, but never fun, and always control like shit.
Yes, including Yoshi's Island

my only complaint is that the concept is too similar to Epic Yarn, even if the execution is quite different.

Does anyone realise that redpilled zoomers and teenagers only look at people who play this as literal babyretards? Have any of them got any idea of how they look to these kinds of people?
They are perceived as absolutely pathetic.

>We could've just had a Switch port of this and everything would've been fine, but no, you HAD to ask for something different.
Fuck you, new games are always better than ports. Also Crafted World is good, it just has shit music and optional content.

>I told you all that Wooly World, while not being the best Yoshi game or anything like that, was a really solid title that had a good, coherent artstyle and was pretty fun to play.

Reminder that Yea Forums during the Wii U era was the biggest case of Fox and Grapes this site ever seen, see also: DKC Tropical Freeze

>Yoshi as a series is probably going to die now.

I'd be fine with this desu desu

Woolly World and Crafted World do have a casual mode, it's called Mellow Mode and it gives Yoshi permanent wings.

I don't know who yoshi games appeal to

>Fuck you, new games are always better than ports.
No, not when the new games are shit.
>Also Crafted World is good
Fuck you.
Get some taste.

he's right, though

2-Speedrunner fags (they hate anything that isn't yoshi's island tho)
3-Gays

That's it.

Its legitimately a great fucking game.

Thank fuck I'm old enough to just enjoy what I want and not be worried what other tweens think. My gf and I had a fucking great laugh playing YCW together in co-op.

Attached: nintendo-boss-tatsumi.jpg.png (640x347, 410K)

My gf bought it and we played it together, fun as fuck to play in co-op.
This, I fucking loathe yoshi, except for the woolly one and the crafted one. They are the only incarnations I don't dislike.
Every other yoshi, especially after the early 90s and every single smash yoshi, is faggot material.

This.

Woolly World is better

Crafted World is equal to Woolly World in most aspects like level and boss design and even superior in others like the graphical style better realizing its concept rather than being just visual fluff and the world map giving you more freedom to do levels in various orders. It just heavily stumbles in some areas which is something Woolly World managed to avoid.

tendie here, my gf plays manlier games than i do and i don't even play yoshi games

come on man, my gf plays SMT but she can enjoy yoshi too.
I mean, all girls love cute things deep down, unless your gf is a female (male).

I really like it. I'm slowly going through it

Attached: fatty.jpg (787x794, 111K)

Hot truth time

I've beaten every yoshi game and while it's not one of the worst, it still doesn't approach the quality of Island on the Snes.

The music is partiuclarly underwhelming (but thank God it isn't that dog shit kazoo fuckery from their last attempt). The level mechanics are mostly cribbed from earlier games, but the difficulty is far easier. There are some fun gimmick levels (hit x targets, race a solar car, giant crafted robot). The bosses are all simple dogshit, even the basic midbosses from SNES would wipe the floor. There are no cool yoshi transformations and other than the gimmick levels each one plays roughly the same

Now for mega cons. There's a lot of focus on keeping your eyes in the blurry nasty greasy background that's always out of focus. Fucking obonoxious, there's hidden items in there. Then they turn around and have you repeat each level at least two and at most four more times, all to find background objects. Get fucking dunked you imbeciles.

the reverse levels for poochy, fine, I'll tolerate it. Redoing the levels to find the tedious background objects, get completely fucked upon.

Middle ground: you only need to get about half the flowers in the game to access the sekrit final boss level, the only boss that's halfway decent in the game, so good job there?

The reward for 100% is just another costume so please don't even bother doing all the dog shit this game half-expects of you.

Snes era yoshi's island is godly, this is kusoge. Period.

Attached: 2d2d2a9fc78a845a4627cb432ffa3d40.jpg (1200x675, 101K)

Only good thing about Crafted World is the art style which was lifted from a Sony game anyway

Attached: Tearaway_Unfolded-PS4-screenshot-07_1408709528.png (1920x1080, 1.73M)

How would you tier the Yoshi games?

SHUT UP

The problem with Modern Nintendo is that they literally cheapen their games by giving you a god-mode option that makes it effortless to 100% everything with absolutely no punishment and all of the reward. The game doesn't look bad but the Mellow Mode completely ruins it. Games should have gradual challenges and not give you a way to turn your brain off and waste $60.

Too bad Fart Island killed the classic art style. I want more watercolor yossy.

Attached: new island.jpg (570x300, 54K)

literally just don't use it. Yoshi isn' t a game designed to be hard, adding an even easier mode for kids is perfectly fine.

I was fine completely ignoring mellow mode and badges (Woolly World) / costumes (Crafted World) though I get your point.

is your gf 5 years old

>unless your gf is a female (male).

But they literally love cute things the most out of anybody. True women-core games are things like Match 3 and Windows 98 Solitaire.

>yet normal mode was still piss fucking easy.
You're not an unskilled toddler anymore like you were back when you played SM64 or SMS

Then why the play game? Why teach kids skills like problem solving and perseverance? Just fucking hand them everything and wonder why kids today are so fucking incompetent, stupid, and absolutely spoiled.

Fuck you and fuck anybody who supports this shit.

my fucking sides

Most of them have pretty big flaws, it's a matter of ordering them by the least flawed to most.

Snes has the least flaws, it only has the crying obnoxious baby. The difficulty can be a little on the -fucked- side for some of the bonus levels especially poochy aint stupid (he's on the lava) and there's a couple obnoxious slow auto scrollers

Yoshi's Island comes in next, it's biggest offense is a lesser graphical fidelity and cutting itself into quarters. To experience the whole game you essentially have to beat it 4 times, that was a fundamentally fucking retarded decision and shame on the person who thought it up.

the GBA remake comes in, it's essentially the snes classic so see above

Then there's Yoshi's Island DS which is severely hampered by switching babies. If you started with the correct baby and a given level only used that baby's gimmick (or you could switch instantly at any time) then it would be glossed over. There's also a massive dead area between the top and bottom screens, holy shit that felt like I was going blind. This one might be the very worst.

Then you have New Island which would be decent except it has the very worst soundtrack in the game holy fucking shit

Snes Island (+ GBA reissue) > N64 Story > Crafted World Switch > New Island (garbo music and story retcon) > Island DS (fundamentally flawed gameplay with blindspot and baby switching annoyance).

Who did Kirby's Epic Yarn? That was a god tier soundtrack.

Nigga if you think Yoshi is a game designed to teach problem solving I'm laughing.

Also pretty sure you still have to fight bosses and Mellow just helps platforming/some puzzles

Its a nice game
But the music is bad

>Yoshi as a series will die

Good. The vast majority of Yoshi games after SMW2 are fucking shit.

wheres Wooly World?

Sounds like you haven't played Woolly World? I think you'd like it, probably rank it closest to Yoshi's Island.

Also Yoshi's Story is utter dogshit, at least Island DS and New Island aren't extremely short even with forced replayability.

>Then they turn around and have you repeat each level at least two and at most four more times, all to find background objects
>the reverse levels for poochy, fine, I'll tolerate it. Redoing the levels to find the tedious background objects, get completely fucked upon.

This, this so fucking much.
The levels are enjoyable on a first run through, but my god making you repeat a single level multiple times to clear one bonus objective at a time, what the fuck were they thinking?
It's a goddamn scavenger hunt why can't they just give you all of the objectives together and let you do them in one sweep?

They should add some super hard DLC, like a bunch of packages arrive for a party including plastic knives and forks and party hats and party poppers and stuff so levels are all spiky and explode, a party food level with jello you bounce on and bowl of punch you have to avoid falling into, and the final boss can be a giant goomba plushie

Ah shit I forgot I played that one. It was the very last game I played on Wii U before upgrading to switch, as the last exclusive I didn't get.

Wooly World is definitely better than Crafted World. The unique yoshi colors and switching front/back felt great. I don't remember the music rubbing me the wrong way (but I also can't remember it). It's probably the best one aside from Snes YI, and it looks absolutely great.

Looks cute as hell, might get it next month, from what I saw from Jared's LP, it's a really comfy stroll, everyone needs these sometimes.

Tearaway was pretty fucking great. Reminded me of the 90's platformers.

Attached: 769ijuyhgf3445gh8.jpg (1920x1080, 262K)

My gripe with Yoshi's Island SNES has always been that you have to do perfect runs of levels for 100% completion.
Woolly World and Crafted World give you lenience in that once you've found a flower or red coin, you don't have to collect it again on a repeat run, though Woolly World did at least acknowledge if you did a perfect run of a level, it just never required it.

Doing perfect Yoshi's Island SNES level runs just gets frustrating after a while, when you rush and maybe run past one item, fail to grab one red coin, miss something at a point of no return, etc.

Woolly World is good stuff, has one of the most satisfying 100% runs and final levels.

user, how could they have MC sales when MC stopped publishing their sales before the game came out?

The final boss had some funny weapons like sharp pencils and party rockets, they could do more like that.

>The game doesn't look bad but the Mellow Mode completely ruins it.

You're complaining that YOU played the game on EASY mode?! Holy fuck you cunts are so desperate to shit on everything that you're honestly oblivious to how ridiculous you are. Its almost high satire.

Something is off about Crafted World. These two games share a similar aesthetic of arts and crafts, yet Crafted World just feels soulless in comparison.

sold like shit in japan, worst first party selling game pfhahaha

Nigga, what? That was the best part. The only thing I thought was unfair was getting hit on a boss fight and just having to die. There should have been a way to create red eggs and stars on each one.

based

What do we call these "Arts and Crafts" Nintendo games? The "Crafted Nintendo Series"? Cause they share similar designs, soundtracks, gameplay concepts, and most of them are really boring and easy.
Epic Yarn, Paper Mario SS/PS, and Wooly/Crafted world all fit under this umbrella. That's five games with this concept.

You're kidding, right? I'm looking at the screenshots of both games and CW is the one with soul. Tearaway looks so drab and samey. It's like a texture swap of another game.

I already played Kirby's Epic Yarn. Don't really need to play this. I'm sure there's a market for it and people who like that, more power to you. But it's not for me.

I was thinking about getting this to play with my GF, but outside of the artstyle it doesn't look great. Would I be better off getting Captain Toad, that looks like it has more interesting gameplay while still being fairly casual.

You forgot Kirby’s Dreamland 3 and Kirby Canvas Curse and that Clay Kirby Game

Reckon they should called Style Games, as in the emphasis style over substance, except a lot of them have substance the newer ones don’t

Toddlers.

Derivative. Paper Mario is exempt though. Too much style, not enough substance.

Call it "Craft Casual." It's not an insult to have a game that's really easy. Some people just want a relaxing game.

Can I get an example of some of this shitty music I keep hearing about?

>Tearaway looks so drab and samey
play the game, it's not

Tearaway sucks, don't listen to that guy. It's like teletubbies the video game. The platforming isn't even good, either. You're better off playing the LBP games

I disagree, Yoshi looks great too.

Attached: Yoshi's Crafted World_ 'Weighing Acorns' Stage (and its Flip Side) Revealed - IGN Fir (1920x1080, 2.37M)

Why is it so blurry?

First off, I just took a screenshot of a shitty youtube video. Second, the backgrounds are inherently somewhat blurry because you can aim eggs at things in the background, at which point they come into focus. Third, it's generally lower resolution compared to other Switch games due to keeping 60 fps at a high level of detail so it can look blurry. It's better than that screenshot while playing though.

How is it compared to Woolly World? I've tried to enjoy Woolly World but it just couldn't grab my attention very well.

It's similar although I'd say the levels look and feel more unique and interesting. I doubt you'd have a radically different experience though.

That's literally his fault though

>Sony owns the concept of Arts and Crafts

Attached: YabbaDabbaDont.gif (500x303, 674K)

What happened?

Hot take: transformations were never good and always completely killed the pace. I don't miss them.

t.

Attached: skinnywhitekid.jpg (1672x2661, 753K)

Okay legit, can the "X WON!" meme go away already? Not every video game release needs to be a fucking political victory.

The demo was super boring. Why won't they do a game that's as challenging and fun as Yoshi's Island?

I appreciate that Crafted World tried to be different with the foreground background stuff and changes to the level structure. Wooly World, while great, is just Yoshi's Island with unraveling and yarnballs instead of eggs.

He left Good Feel. I don't know if it was in good spirits or not but it makes no sense for him to retweet a bunch of tweets about how bad the music is if he could have done it himself. He was the one that fucking left.

>forgettable game with shitty baby music

new IPs > tired rehashes

This game is €50 and can be completed 100% in 5 hours.

Tell us more about how much you love sony

Yes, but are you going to 100% it in 5 hours the first time you play it?

Didn't want to make a new thread for this.
Is there any off brand pro controller that works well? Or is the Nintendo one good enough?
My joycons are shitting out on me and continue to make inputs even when no one is touching them.

brand loyalty is for faggots
I also praise nintendo when they take risks and make good new IPs like splatoon. but for every fresh idea there's 5 yoshi/kirby/mario rehashes

Both are extremely well made games for toddlers.

>but for every fresh idea there's 5 yoshi/kirby/mario rehashes
BASED SNOY IT'S OKAY WHEN THEY DO IT ON JUST ONE SYSTEM!

Splatoon is a tired rehash now. Sorry user, you aren't allowed to like that series anymore

I wish it could, unfortunately they padded it to hell and back to ensure it would take close to 20 hours to 100%.

you can leave out "for toddlers" next time, we are on the video game board
