I hacked mine so I don't care

They don't feel anything. They just do what daddy Nintendo tells them to. Switch has a cult around it now.

If the new model improves a lot and I feel forced to get it, I don't mind hacking my old Switch and turning it into the perfect emulation machine.

Attached: 1542376146682.png (440x278, 141K)

Okay

This all but confirms that Geralt will be in smash.

>gen 1 switch
>hardware flaw makes it always hackable regardless of firmware updates
>later switch
>better system for playing online and keeping unhacked
Seems like the optimal strategy is buy the first model always, then hack it when the later one comes out.

pretty sure they're fine because their model has an unpatchable hardware exploit

lol im sure this will work

>playing Nintendo's trash online
Holy shit what's wrong with you? Do you literally have zero standards?

inb4 it's cheaper made in every way

Sincerely, if you do not play Splatoon 2 you should not be allowed to talk about video games

This seems like the most likely reason.
The old fat ps3 was hacked and they came out with the slim last Gen.
Same with the 360.
Hardware changes are almost always a situation of trying to put new anti piracy systems in place, because it works, for a while.

I'll probably upgrade if there's a significant performance upgrade. If it's like the new 3ds or ps4 pro, I'm not interested.

Let's see

I still have the original model GBA, DS, and 3DS. The only time I've ever upgraded a Nintendo console was from the DMG01 to the GBC. Why should I start caring now about having the original model?

Sounds fun playing a 6hz paintball shooter populated by kids.

Nah. Hardware revisions happens to keep sales up and novelty fresh. The Switch novelty is wearing off so now is the time for Nintendo to release a new revision with some new gimmick attached so sales are kept strong.

I'm a fucking blank

Unless the new Switch comes with GC emulation, which I doubt. I have mine hacked and I wouldn't consider buying the new model unless it's something groundbreaking.

sorry I don't play dingle digit sever tick shooters with a controller

It’s 20$ for a year cheaper than a bottle of soda so my expectations were low.
Works good enough I can have +600 hours into Splatoon 2

I'm playing psp games on my OG model. So I'm pretty good thanks.

Reminder that the Super Slim PS3 is still unhackable, and the Slim is still only partly jailbroken. I'll keep hold of my fat PS3 with it's fully hackable firmware and PS2 back compatibility no matter how much Sony Jews tell me it'll 'brick'.

This. Just buy a secondhand switch plus tablet only off ebay if you really want the hardware bump and relegate the older machine to being a piracy device.

That's Sony security. Nintendo security is shit. All their systems get hacked eventually.

>unsourced leaktard on twitter thread
Wow, what an original thread

It's Wall Street Journal. They also broke PS4 Pro reveal.

>It’s 20$ for a year cheaper than a bottle of soda
Where the fuck do you live mate?

>another fake twitter leak thread

And of course, the useless trannyjannys won't do a god damn thing about it.

This right here.

kys

It is the Wall Street Journal, although they've been pushing this narrative without much evidence.

Their leak got confirmed by Eurogamer aswell.

I can hack it, also did I mention I played fucking Splatoon 2 Multiplayer on the Shinkansen? Worth every fucking cent.

Sure, that's reputable, but uh evidence? It's very likely to happen but I dunno

As for the actual thing, if it's a more powerful model it's great news, more possibilities for emulation and so on.

So do Sony's. The hacks for other PS3 models are likely done already like the Vita, hackers just don't want to release them so long as Sony keep updating the firmware.

And yes, Sony are still updating the PS3 firmware to keep out hackers. They're obsessed.

It's going to be both a more powerful model and also a more handheld model with (hopefully) a real d-pad and OLED.

has nintendo ever released a handheld that didn't have an updated model? why is anyone surpsied by this?

Not bad actually, get the newer model and then just homebrew the old one to fuck and back.

Stupid tranny, this is more rumor and speculation.

I can literally feel how hard you're seething that you fell for a $300 beta test for the real Switch model powered by X2 chip.

>dude just buy the same console twice
why are nintendo fans like this

Why would I be seething? 300 dollars is nothing. I spend more on stickers.

The great change will come when you realise your Switch™ is worthless

>manly_tears_goes_grocery_shopping.jpg

Let's rock

>Sony
>Secure
The fuck it is.
Nintendo consoles might get hacked to death but they’ve never lost credit card info to hackers because they saved people’s info as txt files
Not even normies trust Sony why do you think PlayStation gift cards sell so much?

I was talking about hardware security you retard. Nintendo can't even program that shit on their own. They left it entirely on Nvidia who left the Switch wide open for hackers.

I played it for more than 2000 hours so I'm pretty fine with it.

>How do early adopters feel
Double dipping and hacking my OG. I'm not poor so this was the ideal scenario

Same like Eh, ok.
I got my money’s worth and then some.
At this point it’s hybrid console or Fuck off.

Its also 20 dollars more then I'd pay for online thats just as shit as Wii U's online.

>trash online
Say what you want about the lack of features, I have just as many issues with latency on my PS4 with battlefield, rocket league, and Apex, as I do with my switch with Kart and smash.

>Sony security
Lol enjoy your stolen identity

Rosterfags, this is your mindset.

>the PS4 Pro will make my original PS4 redundant.
>The Xbone X will make my Xbone S redundant.
I hate you faggots so much

It' not going to be much more powerful, if at all. The main reason they're switching over is that the current Switch uses a chip that NVidia failed with and thus had just sitting around when Nintendo came knocking asking for hardware for their new console. Nvidia's stockpile has since depleted and they want to move on and stop making these chips. The new Switch will use their current chips so they don't have to have a separate manufacturing pipeline just for it

I still use my launch PS4 model regularly and will continue to do so for a long time. Don't see why that'll be any different for the Switch.

I would've done the same with my 3DS as well but I bought a New 2DS since my launch 3DS battery fucked up and a replacement one didn't help.

Attached: 1452124574074.png (800x640, 571K)

>before it gets its first must have game

you need to get better at baiting

The original switch is already downclocked.

So a "pro" version with just be a stock model, with a screen with not bezels and bettery battery life. And maybe even a Ethernet port and proper usb 3.0 dock (sold separately for $70 to boot)

I'm happy. I leave my Switch almost permanently docked so once the new version is out I can bring the basic one out with me and the new one docked.

Switch already has a few must have games.
After 6 years how's your Bloodborne machine?
Quit projecting so(n)yboy

Attached: suikoden-ii-734.png (800x600, 92K)

Ok

It will be a portable switch, they want the 3DS audience of 10yo that play pokemon

>implying bing bing toddler shit can even compare to Bloodborne

Switch already has Dark Souls. Doesn't need edgy souls

Bloodborne isn't good

Do you not have a phone?

Let's see my fate

>w-we have the worst version of this game everyone played in 2011
Absolute state of Switchbabs

Better than kiddy bing bing shit.

Imagine buying a switch.

Attached: Cult of Nintendo.webm (1920x1080, 2.86M)

Nothing, I bought it for MHXX, played MHXX, and put it down after my usual 800 hour burnout. The next time I pick it up will be to replay RF4 and the eventual RF5. There is no game exclusive to the Switch that I care about that will need more processing power, RAM, or whatever.

Attached: RF4.png (1280x720, 2.52M)

rolling for it

I'm neither fat nor a virgin but I am miserable. Let me find out if it gets better.

I still don't know why this system triggers so many people. I'm a idort and due to the convenience of the Switch it's become my most played platform. I have more games for it than my PS4. I'm even considering selling the PS4 as I don't really use it anymore.

>Implying only Nintendo fans do this
I do the same with my Vitas. Easier to have one unhacked console for carts and one hacked for everything else, rather than going through the hassle of constantly linking and unlinking the SD card adapter.

Imagine being more obsessed with Nintendo than a Nintendo fanboy

nice

röll

I have a hacked switch so im kinda pissed that im going to have to buy a switch pro and have it sit in its box for the next four years or so.

We're all gonna make it brah

i mean switch is objectively the worst version since it has absolutely horrible audio. thats not to say every other version of the game is good, in fact theyre all shit.

Its just console wars, Ive yet to see genuine switch owners angry at it

I'm gonna need a second one to trade with myself in Pokemon anyway.

I SAID EXCUSE ME AS I CHEAT THE SYSTEM

I'll actually buy a first generation one so I can hack it and play PriPara. With people dumping their old ones to get new ones surely I will get a good price.

That's better. Gotta squeeze a few arms to get what you want.

And by first must-have-game you mean Metroid Prime 4?

Fine
I got most of my value out of mine from XB2 and Splatoon in the first year.
I wager that the new model will probably be a dock that handles all the graphical processing in docked mode while the Switch tablet creates a super basic run of the same thing to keep parity while playing in docked

Everyone who bought should have expected this, unless it was your first console ever and you just got into gaming

You made sure to crank up the fan right?

rolling (edit: fuck you took moot for calling my post spam)

Like damn nigger.
I brought 4 Switches so far between my own, my niece’s, my girlfriend and my best friend Josiah and I’m not as obsessed about Nintendo as you are.

>He says as his PS4 got downgrade souls
Kek

The original console releases are the worst. Sub hd resolution, and framerate that tops out at 20fps and goes as low as single digits. Followed by the shitty remasters with the terrible new assets. Followed by Switch remaster with compressed audio. And then the best version, PC with DSFix.

Thanks for the beta test losers!

Attached: 1457106117356.jpg (582x741, 88K)

I'm pretty sure Sony set it to be on maximum all the time when issues started happening. It's a hair quieter than a launch model PS4.

Even then, I'm not worried. It's a problem that's fixed with some more durable solder, not the end of the world. More people kept hold of their fat 360 models despite a worse flaw.

Best answer. Having the original model will always be great because you can hack it.

Oh shit he posted the webm 3 times!

If this means bayo 3 and prime will look better then I'm all for it

How do late comers feel about not being able to paperclip their Switch?

Attached: bendy boy.png (259x194, 4K)

don't get your hopes up, even with all the increased power of the Switch (coming from the 3DS) Fire Emblem and Pokémon still look like trash

>2 lazy, complacent devs who are probably tired of working on their series

I dunno, I already bought the 5-10 games I ever buy for Nintendo consoles(Mario/Kart/Smash/Zelda/new console IP/handful of JRPGs) already, so I'm set until the next Nintendo thing.

Ambivalent. I also have a base PS4 and Xbone. Still see no need to upgrade either of those. They do fine for exclusives and my PC will run the more hardware demanding games better than the "pro" consoles anyway. I'll care when the Switch Pro has exclusives.

>get new switch pro
>keep it legit for multiplayer games
>homebrew current switch

Has there been any official word from Nintendo?

if not, still skeptical. Been hearing Switch revision rumors since a month after the switch came out.

I can't believe Nintendo got defeated by a single bendy boy

Wouldn't they have to make new joycon that have analog buttons for that?

Do your worst Maya

what happens if I am not a fat virgin loser as it stands?

Nintendo rarely comments on rumors unless it's to directly deny them.

I don't need to roll. My life is already great.

I've been recently diagnosed with cancer and they have given me six months.

I can’t wait for the new more powerful model so I ditch my defective one that can’t dock because it overheats to death, stuck using it as handheld only.

Good thing this news about the new models leaked when they did because I was really close to buying a new one. But now I’ll wait for the more beefy version.

That sucks...have fun while you still can I guess.

I've got a bit of a trip across the country planned. I'm going to make the best of it.

Awesome, hope you have a great time!

this

damn dude show me what kind of stickers you're buying

lets do it

I hacked mine, and haven't paid for any games, so, I'm okay with it.

My neighbors are having sex loudly again. I think they are doing it on purpose, last time I ran on them on the hallway they said something along the lines of
>I hope we didn't bother you last night
and the girl giggled.

This was the first must-have game.

In fact, this is the best game of this generation (Sonytards need not apply).

>if you change your 1200$ vga every year
What makes you think you can’t replace a 300$ console?

But what are you going to do with the third and definite switch console when it’s released in 2021/22?

Wouldn't hackers want the best model for performance on their games?

why does this game get so much praise?
what makes it so good?
never seen anyone go in detail and i have a hacked switch that collecting dust

>it's a fucking phone

Not sure how I'd feel about that, but it seems to suggest itself.

>being so fat to drink soda

Gz fatso you hit the trifecta of Nintendo cucks

God, I hope not.

so you make enough money to waste on phones and gpus but you don't know that the $ comes before the number? this society is literally rigged by retards

I might get it once you can hack it.

Newer switches are harder to hack, first year models are the easiest.

>Company that has a two generation history of milking portable hardware releases is going to milk a portable system for revisions.

This surprises no one but the dumbest fanboy sheep.

Considering that the current model run ports worst than on the og console or first party games than run worst than bloodborne did on ps4

Obviously it's better than Odyssey. Not a big accomplishment

To my knowledge, there's no way Nintendo can just patch the access to a hack out right?

Why do some online multiplayer games need a Nintendo Switch membership while others don’t? What multiplayer titles are even worth it?

>only bad when Nintendo does it

>Releases a new 3ds almost every year for 5 years like apple does with the iphone.

Nobody else does hardware rehash like this in the industry.

Not first batch Switches. It's a hardware hack, no software can kill it.

Can you mention any other company that has milked their consoles this much before?
>Regular-sized Nintendo 3DS
>Nintendo 3DS XL
>Nintendo 2DS
>New Nintendo 3DS
>New Nintendo 2DS XL
Plus let's not forget the addons such as:
>Circle Pad Pro accessory for the original Nintendo 3DS
>Nintendo 3DS stand
>Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer

So, who else does shit like this in the industry?

How easy it is? I will buy one next week

>tfw hacked Switch, and never paying a dime for games, free save back ups, and emulators
Feels good man.

Their hardware is perfect already on base models. Overclock will achieve the same

If you get an unpatched Switch, all you need is a big micro sd card to fit all your games, and a 2 dollar jig off eBay. It's piss easy to hack a Switch.
switch.hacks.guide/

if i have a hacked switch and wanted to sell it clean to some mother who doesn't want to deal with it, can i just remove the card with the games and factory reset and sell it that way so that it doesn't get banned?

Attached: file.png (1280x720, 756K)

More up to date guide here.
nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/

No. You'd have to restore your nand to before you installed any games. Factory resetting doesn't remove all the logs of the games you installed/played.

thank you, I will try next week. I will look at the firmware version first when I'll buy it

I guess I won't be able to play online, isn't?

same, but with a recently purchased N3dsXL.
Nintendo makes such easy exploitable hardware

Nintendo will ban you the second you go online with your Switch, after installing any pirated games.

Don't really care because this model can be hacked while work on the new one probably has to start from zero.

But I can hack my og switch so it's all good

>implying the new model is anything but some hyperjew update that prevents you from hacking it

It's literally baby's first XCom with wop-wahoo-yippeee graphics

>non hacked Switches get to play NES games for 20 dollars
>hacked Switches just got PSP emulation today, for free!
gbatemp.net/threads/ppsspp-switch-beta-release.535468/

Thanks, no wifi for me then, no online. Just saved 25$ on an adapter and 25$ for a year online
Money is rare, If I can pirate, I will do it
I don't need online to train on SSBU
I will simply buy 2 Switch(es) then

>PSP
No way, bruh!

I bought Splatoon digitally so I wouldn't be able to transfer my save over unless that gets patched but I doubt it.

reminder that the inevitable revision will most likely use the X2 Tegra chip since its literally the only way to increase performance without hampering battery life (overclocking the current switch cuts the battery life to 30 minutes) and will be an actual custom chip with better security sending pirate fags to square one for the next 3 years
>but i can keep pirating everything on my 1st gen switch
yeah you can sure cope with that but nintendo desperately needs better 3rd party support, and this issue will only aggravate when PS5 launches, they need to close the power gap with the next gen before its too late so most probably the new switch will not only get better performance for existing (many switch games makes intense use of adaptive resolution, better hardware would instantly make these games run better out of the box without patches) and upcoming first party titles but also exclusive 3rd party titles that the 1st gen switch cant even dream with running
>inb4 playing multis on the switch
its weird how this can be used as an argument to support the switch because portability but immediately changes as the narratives does

Attached: 1521128395669.jpg (480x480, 45K)

wait a few months till E3 and save your money. Until the rumors of a Switch 2.0 or "Pro" or whatever pan out.

>pirate game
>Nintendo responds by refusing to sell you games
>bans you from paying for their online service
>forced to pirate all future games
>forced to save money
Wow amazing plan

>Overclock will achieve the same
enjoy your 30 minutes battery life

But they can make the life of hackers a hellhole. There will never be a freeshop and they'll made it really easy to brick the system.
It's never going to be as widespread as 3DS or PSP hacking.

Mouse Aiming > Gyro Aiming > dog shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dual stick aiming

>reminder that the inevitable revision will most likely use the X2 Tegra chip
There's no reason to expect this.

It would needlessly complicate soooooo much.

It's not exactly hard to get Switch games. You can already install them over wifi from your PC, or via FTP. It's really hard to brick your console perm, if you backup your nand.

the new 3DS XL is the best revision so far, cope as much as you want with the old 3ds

No need for overclock in portable mode, keep it for docked.

>How do early adopters feel that OG Switch will be made redundant before it even gets its first must-have game?

Your salt is hysterical. Buying a Switch on Day One with Zelda is one of my most cherished gaming experiences. What a great time that was.

Owning a Switch these past two years has been amazing. Its my most played gaming device by a mile. It has changed the way I game.

I cannot wait to slap down hard cash for a new premium edition of the system. Good times.

>Nintendo Switch must-have games

Don't care cause I can sell my OG Swtich for $200 towards the Switcharoo.

how does the switch know it's not a legit copy?
from what i remember, hacking emulates a cartridge and nintendo can't possibly know what games i bought so they can't compare the games i played with what is associated with my account

>Zelda TP on 3DS
I missed it, never heard of it

how exactly? the X2 its just higher clocks for lower power consumption, the architecture is the same, they could even go to Parker or Xavier tegra chips
just overclocking the existing tegra X1 would complicate things much further since now they'd need a 6000Mha battery and better cooling to achieve actual portability

Oh boy I'm so fucking glad I got the lucky box. N3DS is amazing. The blue paint is starting to peel off though, someone's got the same problem?

its fake, this is from when people wanted TP on 3DS instead of TPHD and the later got leaked from the eshop like a month later

It would be unwise of Nintendo to allow exclusive games for different versions of the console this early on.

they already did that in the past user

Does Switch save data save onto the physical carts? Because if that is the case I bet there will be deals to trade in a switch to get the new one and if it is a more powerful one I will def dip. Haven't had my Switch long enough or have enough games to be sentimental to not trade it in.

>but thats just a wii port

Attached: file.png (500x457, 421K)

Mario Odyssey is literally the only must have exclusive that the Switch has on the moment, all the others are either Wii U or PS3/X360 ports.

It saves to internal memory with no way to get it off unless you pay for cloud saving.

I meant do it again.

This. I don't get why people act like Sony's online is immaculate in comparison

>its only bad when Nintendo does it

Luckily all the games for that were kinda shit on the console.

Doesn't save to the SD card?

the savedata does not save into the cart like the 3DS, it saves into the system, you can only do system transfer OR subscribe for nintendo online and back up your saves online
IF you dont play splatoon 2 and you have never subscribed to nintendo online you can simply wait until the revision comes out, susbcribe for the 1 month free trial, back up all your shit, and then sell back you switch, get the new one and just sync you shit

Nope, DLC does though.

Odyssey sucks. SmashU and Splat2 are better

I have a feeling it's going to be a cheaper model in order to target the poorer demographic. At $300, Switch is the most expensive handheld ever even when you adjust for inflation, it's just not what they usually do when it comes to handhelds

I'm also expecting a TV-only unit and I'll probably buy it if they patch all their games to support 4K. That would be pretty cool

acutally SMO is better than SmUsh

Not really
All the revision is gonna do is bring up Handheld-Table top performance to Dock performance.

It’ll only have 1 clock speed instead of 2

you can thanks modders for that, the only reason why the switch does not allow local save backup and internet browser is to prevent exploits, yeah i know the switch is hacked anyway but it would've hacked much earlier if they allowed those features from day 1

Actually it isn't

System transfer to the new one and turn the old one into a pirate/emu machine because I bought a 1.0 switch the minute the unfixable exploit was found. Did the same thing with my 3DS. I'll probably give the old switch to my kid at some point, he's a little fucking butterfingers and the switch has zero nintendium content, maybe in a couple of years his motor skills will improve and he'll stop dropping shit like a mong.

but then you wouldn't be able to run portable games at OC speeds which is the mode that suffers the most in performance hit while owners of the switch revision will get good battery life and better performance

>bought a $120 premium used triforce N3DSXL from gamestop
>mint condition without a single scratch
>dual IPS
Gonna chuck it on ebay when I'm done with it and get at least twice that

they did it with the N64 with the DSi and 3DS, they will do it as many times as they please

I got my switch in September 18, i'm on the latest update ( Like Spla2n too muchas ) if I eventually decide upgrade will I still be able to hack it?

Ive been waiting for an improved version for this exact reason.

you'd have to stop updating the old switch and wait for an exploit, the new switch will take years to pirate tho

>would've hacked much earlier if they allowed those features from day 1
Not necessarily. Save data is encrypted. A bad hash would prevent any save data from being loaded, so it would be very difficult to get illicit code running unless you ALREADY have the system hacked, can decrypt the saves and recompile a save that potentially runs another exploit, which is not easy

It's just Nintendo being stupid and creating a worse experience for everyone to prevent hacking that's going to happen anyway

damota.me/ssnc/checker

So I guess it's just fuck you for the 30mil or so 1st gen switch owners.

Because sonyfags obey their company like dogs. Hell they don't even give a shit about the games they have.

But these don't count lol

You know those play coins you get when you redeem a game?
Nintendo runs a very quick match system when connected online
They find a duplicate, reject the game and ban you instantly

>tfw safe
will get the new revision and hack this one just so see what can be done with it

same as I felt when I bought a base ps4 pro

It's fun. Just a basic Xcom lite, with some intersting combat mechanics, mostly diverse movement commands and a small but solid variety of weapons with a few status effects. It gives the game a lot of different ways to play and the diversity of missions create plenty of opportunities to try differernt stuff.

I also enjoy Xcom 2 a lot, but Raddibs has its charm.

>buy this new memory expansion pack to play DK64, MM, Perfect Dark and more

Are you sure its not 2 new switch bundles with custom switches? Becuase I bet thats what it is. Most likely animal crossing and fire emblem edition switches.

Screencap this to rub it in rumorfags faces approximately 6 months from now

Attached: 1551483076627m.jpg (1024x576, 87K)

Fucking why?
Sony is literally the most soulless company
Even the evil Mega Corp Microsoft is nicer

That's a bit more excusable because its not a whole new system, but a small add on that you just plug into your existing system. It wasn't even that expensive to buy separately and I'm pretty sure it fucking came with DK64.

I don't think you know the difference between a peripheral and a more powerful system.

Is an exploit needed for every new update?
Theres no exploit for the latest update right?
Is there a way to connect online without the system updating itself?

it came with dk64

>Can you mention any other company that has milked their consoles this much before?

but why should you have to pay for it at all?

It's even easier than 3DS nowadays. Most beginners just use Discord, you don't even need to know shit. Join /hbg/ on Discord, all new releases are available on direct download through Google Drive, no ads, no malware, no bullshit. DLCs and updates are available too as well as custom all-in-one XCI (update+DLCs).

I really wouldn't mind if Nintendo pulled this off with the dock of all things.

thats true, it came bundled with DK64 but i'm pretty sure it was 100$ priced back then, games in the 90s were expensive as hell
point is, a hardware upgrade does not stop nintendo from making exclusive software for said hardware, if they can use the new hardware, they will

Literally Sony.

How fun is Snipperclips for local multiplayer? Is it ok with only 2 people? I only play about 6 or so hours a week, mostly with pther people, and it is always nice to have something that can add a few minutes of fun for a session.

Thanks for the laugh and the screencap, buddy.

How did PS4 owners feel
How did PSP owners
How did DS owners
How did 3DS owners
How did Xbox One owners
I don't care about hardware revisions, as long as I get to play everything I want to play it's all good.

Dumbass tweets like this should be prefaced with Report or Rumor

I'm sure they'll hack new model in 6 months or so

Yep, this.

Name 1 sony console that has been milked that hard

Attached: 1446488138738.jpg (1000x1000, 147K)

early adopters? why is that even a thing? I bought it like 1 year after it came out

Zelda
Mario Odyssey
Splatoon 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
those were all out when I bought it

Old news. Super slim is already hacked.

i don't know a lot about it, haven't done it to mine, you can check this user's like and see if your S/N is safe for pirating as for the internet i think you can set a DNS number to avoid updates but i think you get banned on sight if you go to play online

PS3
PSP
PS4
Vita

I dropped mine and the vibrations have been weird since. So mixed, I mainly use it for indies so I probably won’t buy a new one. 2.5 years is a bit early but the switch is underpowered.

all sony consoles have had hardware revisions too you monumental faggot

>The Expansion Pak, which debuted at around $50 in stores during the holiday season of 1998
ign.com/articles/2008/10/29/n64-expansion-pak
Okay so I may have been wrong saying it was cheap but it sure as hell wasn't $100 even when they were new.

It's Xcom if it was a turn based puzzle game instead of a probability simulator.

PS4 (Pro and Slim)
PSP (1000, 2000, 3000 and Go)

>just buy an entirely new PS4 Pro or Xbox 1X for $400-$500 to experience the same benefits

>milked
I will not reply seriously to your posts until you stop asking loaded questions

>b-b-but those weren't milked!

This is exactly why I stopped buying Nintendo consoles. There's always a new iteration a few months later anyways.

I’m just happy not paying 120$ for live and PS+ since I barely use either now

Any revision is milking

Even if you have the weaker product?

>I'm pretty sure

just off the top my head
PS1 fat > PSone
PS2 fat > PS2 Slim
PS3 fat > PS3 fat without PS2 compatibility > PS3 Slim > PS3 ultra slim
PSP > 1000 > 2000 > 3000 > Go > PSP Street
PS4 fat > PS4 without gloosy finish and touch power button > PS4 Pro > PS4 Slim

I mean first-gen switches can be hacked easily. New models, not so much. Seems perfectly fine that if the new model is a lot better, to transfer to the new one and hack my original.

Its already too late, always has been, always will be

So you don't buy any videogame platform?

All of them?

how can I tell? do i have to get 3dsident im an eyelet

>feeding the trolls
as long as you get butthurt they will keep doing so

Problem is when you don't they don't leave.

i honestly will pay anything to see xenoblade 2 run properly, i think the portable resolution can be easily improved with simply higher clocks as it has been proved through homebrew overclocking, they might even release a patch to better use the new switch specs and probably even get 1080p in dock mode

i think the second vita was simply called vita 2000

When did 1st gen switch production end?
Wondering if the one I bought in September 18 can still be hacked

I'm in the latest update, am I still able to hack my switch?

>hurr durr hardware revisions
There is not a single plataform under the sun that doesn't do this.
This is industry standard.
Not even PC is safe from that shit, you wanna play the game with higher specs, then make sure you have the right processor, video card and enough RAM faggot, if not then tough shit, go buy those, your PC won't magically get stronger over time.
Whatever console you bought will get a revision, and whatever parts you got for your PC will become outdated.

its cheaper but is shit too

>multiple consoles

>milked far less

This
Seriously i’ve never seen more dedicated trolls.
Noramlly after like 20-35 minutes they get bored and fuck off

i mean at least with PC if you have a high end machine you can only upgrade the GPU every 5 years or so but then again yeah you still need to upgrade shit and even more if you get mid tier pieces from the beginning

So is there any proof or just rumor? Because I am on the fence to buy a switch but if there is really a revision I will wait for it

Does it really matter what it's called?

nevermind figured it out
>upper: IPS
>lower: TN
no wonder the bottom looks like trash compared to the top screen

More likely just from a country where they postfix the character for currency
You might notice how stiff the writing also is, leads me to believe that user's ESL, reinforcing my belief

So the reason you enjoy giving nintendo for online is because of Sony having a more expensive subscription? user thats fucking stupid

>multiple consoles
Correct, Sony has milked revisions since they entered the industry

So how does one go about hacking a Switch?

nah, im not even against you fag

Ask your girlfriend for a bobby pin.

>original Wii had the backwards compatibility
>Wii U had that one Zelda version. Although it didn’t affect the hardware it was still cool

unironically check reddit

It’s got games I wanna play and it’s not costing me 60$
I’ve had more fun with Tetris 99 than the last PS+ game I got.
I think it was like Portal knights or some shit. Lame game.

No one said you were?

Come to think of it they pretty much pioneered the hardware revision. At best with other companies you would see versions with backlights or bigger screens, then Sony comes along and starts making revisions that have fairly huge changes in comparison.

Who cares I'll buy anthing nintendo puts out, unironically too i can afford it.

I left mine in a plane so I don't care. I'll just wait for this.

It's been two fucking years already. Even if it's true, how is having a revision after all this time a bad thing?

Any specific sub reddits?

>populated by kids.
And there's your error

based retard

i bought the launch switch so i say nintendo cant ever release a new switch until switch 2 comes out

No.... they'd want a hack-able model dummy.

>unironically check reddit

I'll buy a Switch whenever SMT5 releases

>When MS and Sony do it
WOOOOOW FUCKING TRASH COMPANIES JUST WANT YOUR MONEY GRAPHICS DON'T MATTER ENJOY YOUR PS4.5
>When Nintendo does it
WOOOOOW BASED NINTENDO GIVING US ONLINE WITHOUT HACKERS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. PORTABILITY!

>people doubted Wall Street Journal
This goes to show that gamers are brainlet kids that truly believe gamer journalists have more say than actual business analysts.

Its likely going to be a shit ripoff like the current Switch.

i don't see why anyone should doubt WSJ, they've been spot on several times now

if you think about it, nintendo really didn't put a lot of effort into the first switch, they just literally grabbed an off the shelf tegra X1 and shoved it into the tablet, the thing even has the same security flaws as the one inside the nvidia shield TV, this is extremely odd considering nintendo's record with custom chips, i mean even the Wii U had a code name (cafe) i think this revision will be the actual chip they've been working on for a while now and the one we have currently was just a rushed deal with nvidia to see if the switch would even sell shit, if it didn't work they wouldn't loose too much

For a while there hackers did actively ruin Splatoon 2
Shit like flying and insta painting the entire map was horse shit

i personally never encountered any of them, but it was fun to see them hack in to the top 5 class X to tell nintendo to fix the online or simply making fun of them mere days before the NSO went live, also
>reminder that nintendo never fixed the input delay and higher than wii u ping

HMMM I WONDER WHAT ELSE IS COMING OUT IN THE 2ND HALF OF 2019

Attached: Untitled9.png (585x680, 421K)

didnt the 3DS XL came before that?
also when was the 2DS announced

It already has three. BotW, ARMS, and Splatoon 2.

If you don't have all three of those you are missing out big.

i'd replace arms with SMO but yeah

Why are you bringing up the XL? It was the same shit but bigger.
New 3DS came out way later

XL was a revision, that's what this whole thread is all about
also 2DS was the same shit but low cost and no 3D

>the same shit but low cost
that's what this year's Switch revision is
It's meant to be affordable for the Pokemon kids

Only retards are actually expecting a more expensive Switch to come out now

>thinking the switch needs a cheaper revision to sell more when its been selling non stop at 300$ since release
they will release a new better switch and discount the current model

Are you retarded? Why would they give the Switch a price cut when it keeps selling full price?

There's absolutely no reason to release a stronger Switch now. It needs a kid-proof version for Pokemon and Animal Crossing this year

>Are you retarded? Why would they give the Switch a price cut when it keeps selling full price?
exactly, thats why a better switch makes more sense, also you don't need a cheaper console to move pokemon sales, if they release a better expensive switch they will bank on those sweet sweet pokemons sales to drive hardware

Its just going to be a die shrink of the X1. Nvidia just released a dev board that uses the new revision of the chip.
It will let Nintendo run it without active cooling in the lower-spec model, which is why it won't be able to clock up when docked.
The new revision is just going to use the same chip with active cooling. It may allow better performance in some titles, and better battery life, but its not going to be the huge leap some people in here are expecting.

>Its just going to be a die shrink of the X1
thats what the X2 is
the new Jetson they just release uses the exact same tegra X1 the switch uses at the same die size of 20nm , there's no smaller X1, that's the pascal X2 16nm which is what the new switch most likely will sport

Attached: file.png (796x1052, 417K)

it's not coming in 2019. There's no activity in the various component producers showing any new model comming neither this year nor next year. The wsj itself didn't have a source, it was just one of those "expert" making a prediction based on "muh patterns" and probably spending too much time on twitter.

>>The Xbone X will make my Xbone S redundant.
This one kinda did happen with how shit most Xbone S versions of Multiplats are.

>iphones are the only products to get yearly refreshes
Every other phone manufacturer, laptop manufacturer, and mircochip manufacturer has something to say about that

I'm never getting a switch but isn't this the same as every other console upgrade? playstation has the slim and pro, xbox has the x and s and now Nintendo has whatever they have.

quick correction, the Jetson they just released to the public for 99$ is the Jetson Nano and it comes with the same Tegra X1 the switch and Nvidia Shield TV has but has fewer cuda cores and clocks, nvidia is just getting rid of those X1s ASAP so yeah again, literally the only thing smaller than the X1 is the X2 based on Pascal arquitecture and its the only way nintendo can upgrade the switch without resorting in overclocking the current X1 and then having to deal with battery life and cooling

Unfortunately the WiiU gamepad despite being the WiiU gamepad has more sensors in it given it’s bigger size
Regular controllers-joy con don’t have that size luxury and likely won’t get it in the future
Regardless why aren’t other devs copying gyro yet?
Fucking BO4 feels unplayable compared to Splatoon 2

The new model is for people that don’t want all the multiplayer features. I’m happy with the removable joy cons

X2 isn't a simple die shrink, while it was made on a smaller process it has a different CPU architecture, nintendo can't switch to it without breaking binary compatibility. Not sure where you're getting die sizes or process as being the same as the switch from that image.

That Nvidia is releasing new X1 hardware pretty much puts an end to the lie that Nvidia wasn't manufacturing more chips and wouldn't produce new revisions of the X1 hardware.

Interesting idea.

>Nvidia can't fab the same chip on a smaller process
Why is that exactly? Companies do that literally all the time.

kinda but the xbone s and x have polarized price ranges, i think the xbone one s is still attractive for game pass, retro compatibility, 4K blurays and a sub 200$ price point, srly these things can be found for 180$ or less, put your copy of RDR and bam, better performance than any 360 without being forced to get the X

I remember reading that X2 was the most likely candidate for the switch back when it was still the rumoured NX, but nintendo ended up going for the X1 cause they're cheap af. I don't expect much at all from this upgrade

Attached: 1523225134000.png (706x593, 644K)

Nintendo Switch: No Powercord Edition

shrinking the die size allows better performance for lower power draw, at that point is not the same thing anymore
youtu.be/ANr8xGhc0nE recommended watch
the X2 has basically the same CPU cores as the X1 which is the conflicting part regarding hardware upgrades and holding software compatibility, the GPU is what changes, pretty much like the xbone x and ps4 pro, overclocked 2013 laptop CPUs paired with NEW GPUs, i think its completely doable to put a X2 in the switch and still keep the software compatibility, in fact most game will instantly benefit from this upgrade without patches needed

I mean if you can't afford 300 dollars I'd be more concerned

I really want a Switch because i've been out of the loop for a while, and there's so many ports I haven't played. But knowing there's a new version coming out makes me want to wait, so I'm really interested to hear the details and pricing. One of my favorite indie games is coming to switch and it would be awesome to play it on the go.

TL;DR: pic related is the specs you can expect from this new revision

Attached: file.png (1858x1051, 530K)

I'd buy a handheld-only switch if it's cheap enough

So basically, expect current Switch docked performance in handheld mode for Switch Pro? Doesn't sound like there would be much of a jump in docked mode.

nice

funny you mention that youtu.be/binPB4YbWmM
the Wii waglan boogeyman is still hard inside most hardcore console gamers, the only way to see a real improvement in console shooters is to force gyro into them but neither Sony or M$ has the balls to attempt this like nintendo did with splatoon 1-2

just like my 3DS XL, based nintendo

Yes Goyim if we keep pushing the date back nobody will know we have have pulling it from our asses

I still remember when they said we would get a new switch model in late 2017

Will you people shut the fuck up already and wait until we actually get it

>current Switch docked performance in handheld mode for Switch Pro
according to my dbz power levels knowledge, 460 seems significantly lower than 768

it might look like a kinda meaningless upgrade but think about all the shit the switch can run in portable mode, now imagine that same shit running at a 50% power increase
we might even see some games reach 1080p in dock mode, things like SMO and BOTW

That's not an X2 though, X2 has 2 of Nvidia's proprietary 'Denver2' cores as its primaries and it lacks the A53 cores of the X1.
What you're describing is a simple die shrink.

Jesus Christ no wonder why I dislike BO4 and RDR2
The game is literally aiming for me

uh yeah just to save you the time calculating that
that's a 17% increase in docked mode performance and a 50% increase in handheld performance, that's without accounting ram/cpu increase

its been like this ever since the fucking N64, joystick aiming has literally never been good

>A few months
>It's been 2 years since release

Attached: 14279997884653.jpg (540x671, 119K)

the switch X1 has 2 cores disabled too, they can keep the X1 arm cores for software compatibility and keep the pascal GPU arq. i mean yeah its a die shrink but it doesn't have maxwell gpu arq so its kinda in between, this looks more like an actual custom chip than what the X1 is on switch

This
Hell I remember playing Wolfstein 2 on Switch and it’s legit too easy
You’re just walking down the hall being a fucking headshot god
