if it is like real life then it should improve weapon handling. people tend to pair vfg's with shorter barrels so you have a weapon that is better in restricted environments. for in game stat I'd have it increase hip fire accuracy and also faster to bring up a sight picture

Several reasons. Boots on the ground matter, you can take territory with drones but you cannot hold it, you need bodies. Another reason is modern tactics are tried and true, drones have yet to be extensively tested in combat and to a military commander, that counts for more than anything. Also jobs.
