>there's no reason for Sekiro to not have a character creator
unless you want just a face editor they'd need to add custom clothes, which means adding armour back in. and then every character you create fights exactly the same, so what's the point? they dropped that shit for a good reason.
If you wanted to play dress up pretty princess there is The Sims
Character creators in a single player game are pointless features that make developers limit what can be done in the game with the characters.
you have no personality as well
>implying you can create a better character than the master race
I think the whole point of the character is his lack of personality.
He's a shinobi, he has a shitload of honor as his character.
He has a master, his job is to help him. He doesn't talk; he's about the action.
But I agree there should have been character creation and actual different weapons, Just JAPSOULS
If you haven't noticed from the constantly reused minibosses and 10 hour length, I'll clue you in that Sekiro was made on a low budget. They didn't want to waste resources on making a character creator.
*BTFOs Wolf*
But the reason his personality is so lacking is because he was raised by a violent old weirdo who couldn't even be bothered telling him you boil rice before eating it.
Dublet detected. Nihongo okami is best okami.
Everyone else has made perfectly good points but I'll add
>very prominent character in promotional materials
>making him a custom character means he can't be used in adverts
>no face/form obscuring armour sets like in soulsborne to use instead
You might not have noticed it but having custom characters means that all soulsborne promo material has been dudes in fully obscuring clothes and hats/helmets
>I'm sorry you wanted to play as a girl.
>I'm sorry you have gender dysphoria.
>I'm sorry you prefer dress-up to gameplay.
>I'm sorry you will use the excuse: "I'd much rather look at a female character than a male."
No Fromsoft character has personality. The fuck you talking about?
This game is kinda gay, i think im gonna stop playing this bs at the lady buglord. Shit my L1 bottom doesn't even function properly for repeated tapping.
People only play this game for the "epic gamer cred my dude".
t.el retardo
Yeah, what the fuck at him just eating dry rice. Is that actually something japs did/do or is Wolf just dumb as fuck?
Ludonarrative
This. And why is it has to be a man? Can't it be a she or xe? What a fucking moron.
Yeah, like why he don't just pull his pot and stove prosthetic and star boiling the rice while fighting guardian ape?
I agree
I say the same thing about Nioh's protagonist too but everyone gets mad when you say that for notGeralt
Why? So you can replace it with another dude with no personality?
What would a character creator bring to the game?
Cope, shitter.
>Character creator
>Singleplayer game
???
Im stuck between guardian ape 1 and corrupted monk (mibu village). Ive become so fed up with constantly replaying that it may take a while before I go back to sekiro. Downloaded the surge for free on psn and im actaulky having a blast. Customizable armor and such is refreshing. Plus it feels more familiar than sekiro
Also he's white
He is sinobi.
He literally just a man who always serves and do all kinds of jobs if he need to.
You are not a protagonist of story, you simply the man who helps protagonist, like in Oblivion.
His character is literally brainwashed no ego tool and there is no reason he should have any personality whatsoever. The only proper choice is obeying the code, although what happens afterwards is retarded.
he actually does have a personality and pretty good too, good and simple hes like a pet dog.
>This dude has no personality whatsoever
thats the point. he's a killing machine with no aspirations and people are scared as fuck of him going shura. iron code and allegiance to kuro is the only thing keeping sekiro sane.
You severely underestimate how many people buy games just to play dress-up. Lack of cc can be a no-go.
You gotta enjoy the feeling of getting better rather than winning.
enjoy playing your boss deterrent game you boring faggot
I do find it amusing that there are so many wolf retexture mods already. Makes me wonder if some kind of small armor system should have been implemented. Full outfits that you could get that add small bonuses like resistances or more emblems.
This is absolutely the most heinous sticking point of the game.
They give you a named character, remove customisation, then he has no backstory or personality.
He doesn't do or say anything, I don't just mean the fact he says nothing to NPCs, which is bad enough. I mean the fact that he has no idle animations, doesn't react to the world, doesn't comment when anything changes or weird shit happens. He's literally just a preset souls MC in every way.
Hey Sekiro, dumbass - there's a fucking interior ministry ninja hanging around in the Hirata estate. That's a big fucking deal and something you could clue the player in on as a means of engaging with the world. But no, say nothing.
The Ashina Outskirts can be on fire with 20 deadpools running around and he doesn't fucking blink. Being a stoic ninja doesn't make you so ignorant that you don't point out when there's a fucking invasion happening.
THE FUCKING APE YOU EXECUTED CAME BACK TO LIFE. THAT'S NOT NORMAL, SEKIRO.
Stay mad, user.
Fuck off tranny
>10 hour length
If you're getting through it in 10 hours on your first playthrough you're using a guide
>no backstory or personality
Just because you don't like it, that doesn't mean it isn't there.
>"""master race"""
Nice try weeb
yeah, this game is not 60 bucks tier.
It's not that short but it's true that this game should be $40, many bosses are just copy pasted, unlike previous souls games where ,even though some bosses were shit, they were different
Pan face >>>>>>>>>>>>> Wh*te face
Fucking BRAINLET
this game is legit bad
>adopted was a child
>trained to be a ninja
>his master is kuro
That's it. There's nothing that couldn't be fulfilled by a blank slate souls MC.
Was Owl a good father?
Not him or a weeb, but lmao.
I like how the protagonists in RE2 remake would say “holy shit” and stuff every now and again, it really made you feel connected to the characters a lot more in a really creative way I don’t think many games have really done. Something like that would be really effective in a From game
Is this better?
>implying he couldn't just prepare his meals ahead of time like a normal adult human being
True
Nah, Way of the Samurai series or even Tenchu Z give customization without needing armor equips
The thing is he doesn't need to comment on everything like Aloy, he just needs to notice shit in the world.
If you're not doing some vague worldbuilding then you can have Sekiro say "I don't recognise this clothing" when he kills the pagoda ninja. Even if he says nothing else the whole level, that's a massive improvement.
He finds a fucking headless ghost in a cave and doesn't flinch. Is that because he's used to killing ghosts, or is he an underdeveloped souls MC? Stuff like that does help in defining a character and their experience.
His character's great lmfao holy shit I can't believe I share this board with literal brainlets that can't comprehend characterization that isn't braindead bioware interactions or characters talking to themselves about their own past.
cope and delusion
this game sucks
Kuro's face in that makes me laugh.
he doesnt flinch because he's emotionally stunted. he didnt flinch when owl cut his face in the opening cinematic for fucks sake.
Your opinion is yours. Don't play it then.
loser faggot
But Wirriam is hilarious when you consider he doesn't even speak Japanese. The plot just happens around this gaijin and all he does is look confused and autisticly murder demons
Sometimes when you find something horrible, you can't even speak because it is so horrible. Isshin does say that Sekiro is very somber. That's his personality. Quiet, serious and somber. The reason it feels like he has no personality is because it's not a super bombastic, open one.
If you can't tell this nigga is straight up on the spectrum, you're a massive dipshit.
that was so fucked up from the Owl's side.
>...uh
>oi!

- Sekiro, 2019
That sword scene was great because it shows he doesn't really have any regard for pain or show any fear. But even better if you notice how he just grabs the sword, he doesn't even regard Owl or what he's saying. Wolf just thinks the sword will fetch a decent price and tries to grab it since he's clearly a battlefield scavenger. And if you pay attention to any of his early voice lines when he first meets people you can tell he's extremely uncomfortable with talking to people. He sounds like he's struggling to get words out with people unless it's Kuro or those he later warms up to.
Maybe if prosthetics were treated more as weapons instead of disposable novelty items and they added armors, we could have some build variety.
Instead, the fake arm collects dust when it's not shooting fireworks and all you do is spam 2 buttons.
You don't even have to move for Sekiro's combat. In fact, it's easier if you never touch the left analogue stick except for mikiri counters.
Because positioning is meaningless, since every enemy can track you from 2 miles away.
>Instead, the fake arm collects dust when it's not shooting fireworks and all you do is spam 2 buttons.
wrong. there are multiple ways to play. just because you chose the boring route didnt mean everyone else did. i used the arm religiously. spent all my money on upgrades and the prosthetic tree. i was a whirlwind of destruction. nothing could stand against my katana of fire
I hate anime so damn much
holy cringeola imagine playing like this
I wish we could put permanent trail effects on our weapon. Without mods. Just a style thing mostly.
Sekiro never does the "talking to himself" type of exposition, If you want to hear his thoughts and insight on any event if has to be through his conversations with NPCs.
But he never judges anyone, as he does not think highly of himself, he didn't think of himself as being worthy of a cooked rice ball. He had given up on life when Owl showed up and gave him a purpose, he even thanks Owl even though he was a piece of shit that was only using Sekiro and would betray and backstab him in the first opportunity.
No need for direction with Mikiri either, since neutral dodge is always a forward dodge anyway.
It's pretty much how I play Sekiro, I never move unless it is crucial for the situation at hand.
Not even sideways to avoid vertical attacks and projectiles?
hmmm Headless™ cave... gotta be...
better prepare with a pinch of Divine Confetti™ and a gulp of Mottled Purple Gourd™...
What for? You can just block them anyway.
You can't even dodge under enemy jump attacks because their hitbox extends all the way to the floor.
Just stay where you are and hit L1.
What about when a guy is right behind you where you can't deflect anything? Moving is less for one guy and more for groups so you don't get surrounded.
Wrong
Then you won't be able to punish the attack.
You only need to fight bosses. The rest you can just run through.
I did literally everthing in 25 hours and had access to the last fight at 15. If someone just went boss to boss 10 is not unbelievable, and it's not exactly hard to figure out where to go. I mean shit if someone sided with daddy on their first playthrough they could reasonably end it in less than 10.
lol
It's fine. They'll take posture damage anyway. You don't really need to attack all that often. The enemies will just tire themselves out for the most part.
Because if they added a character creator and didn't include women, there would be bad press, and if they included women, the story and dialogue would not make sense.
I liked his reaction to the rice ball a lot. He's so embarrassed about it and amazed because he's such a fucking weirdo that he eats uncooked rice most of the time. Then bothers to detail it all to the Divine Child too.
I think it is very endearing how he is awkward and almost always looks down when talking to people during cutscenes, but at the same time isn't autistic to talk to himself for exposition.
You can't do that to the likes of Owl and Isshin that often retreat back and recover all built up posture damage, got to damage their vitality.
*whistles for kuro*
His personality is “follow the iron code, protect the boy” because that’s what Owl raised him to be
No one said the way of the sloth would be universal. Just very applicable to most situations.
That's like saying running's not needed most of the time playing Mario so you shouldn't use that because it'd complicate things.
You are way more effective pressuring enemies to chip away at their posture and forcing them to counterattack so you can deflect those too.
all dark souls games have copy pasted bosses
>works like cooking meat in monster hunter
that'd be great
OY BLOODY FUCK KISAMA SHINOBI
Looks like I could get a vantage point from that pagoda...
there's also no reason not to have an online component or PvP either that i can think of. why did they do away with it? PvP with sekiro's combat system would be so much fucking fun.
You completely failed to understand sekiro's character. God damn you're retarded.
Ping will ruin any combat, as will players.
Owl is pretty much PvP-like boss.
hmmmm Ashigaru Patrol™... I could Hug Wall™ and distract them with a Ceramic Shard™...

>10 pictures of kuro's feet received
This. Got shura'd in about 12 hours and I'm the shittiest action game player around. Someone who actually plays a lot of these games can definitely do it in 10.
He does recognize the Interior Ministry purple coats, Sekiro knows more about the world than the player do.
He doesn't react surprised to the Interior Ministry assault because everybody in Ashina knew they were going to be reaching the castle soon, many characters through the game know that Ashina is about to fall, including Isshin and Sekiro himself that never denies the fact. Only Genichiro and his supporters are deluded enough to believe that they have a chance,
By your logic Other M is the best characterization of Samus. Less is more, user.
And how uncomfortable he sounds when Emma is checking the mark on his face. Its the little things. Fromsoftware is always subtle like this with their characterizations.
>This dude has no personality whatsoever
he has a few character traits
-loyal to those who saved him
-goal focused to a fault
-not very bright, eats rice raw
-likes money, as seen from flavor text about the coin bags
>Sekiro never does the "talking to himself" type of exposition
What about the beginning of Hirata? You literally get an internal "(hmm, I guess this happened three years ago but I don't remember a thing") that isn't actually said out loud.
Just got to mount Senpou after going through the awful hole full of mole crickets and undying meth addicts. A picture of Buddha with a child’s voice told me that going on is dangerous, but this place looks beautiful. And apparently this is where the candy comes from.
>for soulshits moving around a boss with shield up to get a coward hit in & fishing for backstabs is "positioning"
Im glad that this game made you into the laughingstock of this board, please never stop posting
It would be a pretty cozy place if it wasn't for the centipede worship.
You are literally in his memory so I think we can give it a pass.
The game you are defending proved you wrong though.
Is it his memory, though?
Well I got a bit up the mountain and I can see what Buddha child was talking about, bodies bound, drained and thrown into the bushes.
Git gud
And the tied up dead bodies dumped all over the place just barely out of sight.
i like the game
and unironically agree.
if you are going to take away character creator and make me play a character make him interresting.
it seems like emma teases wolf alot, like her commenting that after first saving kuro his brow is less furrowed
Sekiro is one of the more interesting characters I've ever played. A character with something actually unique about him and not the same grizzly badass quip addict in every game. The way he acts and interacts with characters develops significantly throughout the game and he's got heavy hitting internal conflict.
Emma is a battlefield orphan just like Wolf, you'd think she would end up being some kind of love interest but no, Wolf cares only for Kuro, and a bit for the Divine Child.
Emma is pretty lustful towards sekiro. Maybe in a dlc. From wouldn't do straightforward romance though it would have to be something autistically symbolic, and that's why From is based.
and it subtle but everyone around you acknowledges sekiro's character flaws. ema tells you that she trains in swords to kill a demon. you'd think he means sculptor but he might as well be referring to sekiro. she even says "I should had killed you sooner" when you die to her in shura ending boss.
>Draw a white person
>Squint his eyes
>Call him asian
I was wondering why he was so handsome.
>10 hour game
>I'm at ~70 hours, still have DOH and SS (final boss)
I find it sad when Emma literally had to tell Sekiro to talk, to say SOMETHING, because all he did was watching her drinking in silence.
Poor guy probably doesn't even know what a girl is supposed to be.
Jesus christ user.. how much of that is afk time?
I just got Owl 2 and DoH today. Was putting it off. I also managed to find all the beads.
He knows enough that he wants to pretend Kuro is one.
>10 hours in
>only boss killed is Gyoubu
Who /slowpokerodriguez/ here?
I'm sorry you wanted a sarcastic character that does zingers all the time like the MCs from Anthem
They wanted it to be more cinematic and story driven but it fell flat. From Soft sucks ass at telling storys.
Aren't four games with a character creator enough? Is this really something even worth bitching about?
>After all this time finally I have become Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice ™
She reminds him a lot of Sculptor, who's basically her adoptive dad.
Complete with flaws about shinobi autism and shura.
>people now think its weird for single player games to have character creators
Fucking normies, god damn.
probably the only reason I won't get it.
Bloodborne had little differences in armor stats, but I really appreciated dressing up.
also I like different builds for replayability, and a game that takes place in feudal japan that doesn't let me wield a naginata is not for me
>From Soft sucks ass at telling storys.
I hope they continue to make stories that repel people like you
>character is a blank slate
>complain you can't make another blank slate
There's no reason reason for one either.
>female shinobi with Kuro
>sekiro's combat system relies on staying on your's oponnent's face and deflecting mutiple blows that each have an individual (rather forgiving but still small) parry window
>let's just put that in the copyrighted FROMSOFT broken netcode system that has lag out of the ass
Are you retarded?
The whole 'memory' thing is weird.
You can meet the bandit merchant before using the bell, and he mentions meeting sekiro.
But you can also kill him in the memory, and i think he disappears.
You also take items out of the memory and use them in 'reality'.
Dying in the memory also kills you for real.
You kill Owl in the memory in order to get an essential item, but in order to access that memory in the first place you need his bell, for which you have to kill him in the present.
Ergo, it's not the actual past, but some kind of alternate reality.
Sekiro cant remember a damn thing even while living it so it's not his memory, and you access it via the bells, so logically
First bell = Kuro's memory.
Second bell = Owl's memory.
What begs the question is the sequence of events involving.
>Kuro running off after sekiro tells him "Leave us. Do what must be done."
>Sekiro getting stabbed in the back by owl.
>Kuro digging him out and giving sekiro immortality.
>Escaping from the estate to Ashina.
>Sekiro being in the goddamn well with no will to live.
TLDR
Memories are convulted, blame buddha.
Other than having to create a shitload of assets.
They didn't even add shit like weapons or armor, so they clearly had a plan
The game implies it is... though at the time I was thinking maybe he doesnt remember because he was never there, and that he actually got transported back. That is why everyone remembers him being there.
I havent seen purification ending yet though, so I dont really know for sure. When he wakes up from the trance he basically acts like his memory and asks what sculptor saw.
Senpou might be one of my favorite FromSoft locations of all time
It's just a very good mix between beauty ad creepiness, how gorgeous the outside scenario looks constrasted with the decaying temple full of filth, bugs and zombie monks
I probably got to and killed gyoubu within 10 hours. I actually got Owl 2 and DoH within less than a few hours today.
What is the OP weapon upgrade? I just started and I want to know what I should save my crafting materials for.
>incel invader invading for his waifu
OH SO RELATABLE!! HES LITERALLY ME! 10/10 FROM SOFT!
t. filtered by MY NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME
Define tlh getting creepy the further up I go. It was great that the monks were in such a deep state of meditation that I could walk across the stage and get the seed. Then the ogre behind the display woke everyone up. Except for the centipede monk, he didn’t wake up until I backstabbed him and found out where all these mole crickets are coming from. Does it get weirder?
You discord trannies just can't help it can you
Why do weebs always have to make everything about them and force their weeb shit on everyone?
THANKS Buddha. He IS a bro for letting us clutter up his storage space though. I always assumed that the memories were just that...replays of past events from someone's mind. Not going back in time.
>Poor guy
That's a good thing. Women are fucking awful. All Sekiro needs is Kuro. Boys are love and life, girls are disgusting and trashy.
Isshin also comments how Sekiro not very far from a killing machine, the parallel between the Sculptor and Sekiro is very apparent, only instead of losing his waifu being the trigger, for Sekiro it is losing Kuro. See the default ending, in which Sekiro simply takes the Sculptor's role in sculpting angry Buddhas.
Sekiro is no Yayoi virgin, he is a pure Jomon ブル
SEETHING
Heh... lapdog....
/ss/ time
Most evil FROMsoft character ever?
There are only like 5 different materials and pretty much every prosthetic upgrade requires them. If it is in your upgrade mats page just hoard it until the end of the game.
You are about halfway through the Mt. Senpou. You will get a really vertical area full of rat manlets, then come across more filthy temples with the same monks spewing bugs and other, more advanced ones with huge centipedes coming out them, a temple with half centipede/half human men around a fireplace, a lake with buddha statues in the bedrock, more charred, tossed out corpses, a really creepy dark cave lined up with self-mummified monks (one of them is still fresh enough that it bleeds if you swing your sword). It's beautiful on the outside but more and more creepy on anything the sun doesn't touch
The true memory is the Lady Butterfly fight. The altered memory is the Owl 2 fight. True memory is pretty much a 1 to 1 reliving, and altered is a sort of...what if Wolf found Owl there before Lady Butterfly? Or maybe she was gone or something.
Still beautiful though, From really outdid themselves on scenery
>muh builds
Go back.
The fact you can take shit out of there is what confuses matters, again, blame/ thank buddha
What’s the deal with the rats? Are they modified humans?
Some are very situational, others are very useful all the time. None are absolutely essential, though, so I'd recommend going with what seems fun and/or useful.
So I got to Lady Brapperfly's second phase earlier and there was what looked like a summon from Souls with a scythe. Are there summons in this game?
no idea, would actually like to see theories regarding both the rats and the giant baby-faced bois
The evilest character in any From Soft game is always the player character.
The upgrade tree requires you to upgrade the prosthetics in parallel to unlock higher levels for each one, you cant just say only buy shuriken or axe upgrades. There will be more than enough drops of you pick up all the treasure and there are really easy farming spots
He's still my husbando though
they're just deformed people
>3D audio of monks chanting menacingly for the battle soundtrack
That fucked with me so hard when I first heard it. Also there are some tracks in this game that are straight up designed to mess with you. Like Hidden Forest/ Mibu Village, some parts of the music sound like people knocking on a door. This is 3D audio too, so if you're wearing headphones it can sound like that shit is coming from behind you.
Well. This is true. Cause we get the aromatic branch from owl later on. Which is a withered version of the everbloom thing. So we already have it. I mean. This is the only part that makes no sense. The Lady B part made at least a little sense.
>70hours
How fucking shite are you?
>giant baby-faced bois
The persimmon/taro persimmon tell you all you need to know
Ashina has engaged in all sorts of water-based military research
If I'm not mistaken the only time you get help is against Juzo
>"Steel for humans, Mortal for centipedes"
There's potential here. Nice one user.
I dunno, what do you count as "weird"? Does a fat headless demon forcefully tearing your soul out of your ass and slamming it back up his own ass with a satisfied moan count as weird?
I only noticed it as she killed me but it looked like it was moving in to attack her.
Asians can still look good. Actually I'm pretty sure a lot of samurai and ninja characters nowadays are ripped off of Mifune's look.
>They wanted it to be more cinematic
>FROM long stated that the story would be collected in bits and pieces as usual, just that there would be some cutscenes proper
Unbased retard
It was probably one of her illusions, she summons child-esque ghosts with scythes
They are refereed to as assassins from Senpou Temple.
The chanting is neat. Never noticed anything interesting in the village, though.
Forgot pic
Discard Kuro acquire Rice Loli
Was probably that then.
That would count, but Headless’ whole area is weird and you’re given a warning before going to face it about regular weapons doing nothing. The Senpou temple’s beautiful scenery and thriving forest is in stark contrast to the dead bodies and monks vomiting up crickets. Also do crickets have some significance in Japanese mythology?
When I forst learned to dive, I used the Mibu Village pond as a test. Seeing the bedrock covered in corpses of the villagers buried upside down gave me a spook
Sekiro does horror very well, it's not as in-your-face as Bloodborne or Dark Souls, but it's really well executed
Almost exactly same here. Finished the Pot Noble line and got the full mask, trying to complete the ninth bead necklace and figure out how to free the woman's father from its service.
It's cool finding all these changes during the final stage. The monkeys with swords fighting the ninja dogs over by Tengu's second spot are neat.
Not him, but I'm just enjoying taking my time. Only bosses I've really struggled with so far (20+deaths) are Butterfly (tried fighting her before Ogre) and Owl 2.
*vomiting up centipedes
ftfy
who stabbed sekiro in hirata estate? was it owl?
Yes.
I lov how the world changes, but I really wish the ghosts that appear in certain places at night were new enemies instead of regular mobs with a transparency effect. Kinda lazy from FromSoft IMO
I remember seeing the Abandoned Dungeon. Corpses that are still alive are always off-putting.
>do crickets have some significance in Japanese mythology?

theyre good luck basically
Crickets are symbols of good luck, but at the same time they also feed on rot and cadavers. So I guess it plays into the whole "corruption of something originally pure" theme going on in Senpou. Some user pointed out awhile back that centipedes, while being stereotypical symbols of evil and poison, also happen to look like dark edgy asian dragons. Both have serpentine bodies covered in scales and lots of limbs, and whiskers.
A bit but who else would we see? We stay in the same general area for the whole game. Just Ashina.
They are illusions, didnt you talk to innosuke?
Max your flame vent/umbrella. Take all the skills in the prosthetic skill tree. You will wreck shit
The crickets would be in senpou BECAUSE of all the decay then yeah? To feast upon it?
Maybe more yokai-esque ghosts, deformed by hatred and desire of vengeance
Manlets = Mercenaries that defended senpou temple, now do dirty shit for them and others, including the ministry (the guys who invade in the late game)
Big guys = 'The ashina Taro troop' have huge posture and vitality because they basically eat nothing but persimmons, but this also makes you a bit retarded.
They're supposed to represent vengeful spirits of those you've killed, i think.
Do the crickets attack you unprevoked?
I just assumed they would and killed them all preemptively.
was it revenge for fighting him in the second memory which happens earlier? what if owl didnt die in second memory and dlc is another hirata estate bell and owl3
>Do the crickets attack you unprevoked?
not all of them
>Do the crickets attack you unprevoked?
>I just assumed they would and killed them all preemptively.
They do, eventually. I found out when I stopped to scope out the 3 praying monks after grappling to the attic from the entrance. Stopped to take a sippy of my drink and almost go scared shitless when they snuck up on me.
>Woah this one dude looks like shit so all of them must look like shit too
I can't believe just how many retards like you think in such a single-minded way. How does it feel knowing you'll never develop a way to use critical thinking, a basic human quality developed during maturity?
I fucking love FROM but they cut corners a lot. They are actually quite good at it desu.
he kills you out of the first memory so you dont see that hes the one who actually lead the hirata attack. lady butterfly was never even really there.
I wouldn't have minded a new enemy. We do get those cool red samurai dudes though. The meme dual wielding guys that you can parry to death.
Second memory is just a different version of the memory that plays out from Owl's perspective. If anything it happens later, because he leaves the spot where he faked his death to move and stab you in the back in the first memory. So from his perspective he stabs you, Kuro revives you, and then he sees you alive again and spergs out because you've clearly been revived by the power he sought for so long.
I thought only the dungeon ones attacked for no reason?
>Delayed R1s: the enemy
I've never felt so retarded trying to parry and enemy in this game. If they designed an entire boss around delayed attacks I'd never get past it.
Wait so you're saying Lady Butterfly herself was an illusion?
but deaths carry over in the memories as the merchant proves and you kill the drunkard in both memories. meaning the first bell has to happen after owls bell.
Even divine loli?
It's just a picture someone drew. Why is nu-Yea Forums so fragile? In a Sekiro thread of all things.
They kinda had the ashina elite guys. You couldn't just spam r1 to beat them. I've gotten decent against the original red guys that show up in Ashina. The gun ones are easy. There IS a hybrid though. It's like the original red guys with the bigger heavier swords of the gun guys. They can fuck you right up.
Game is shit and has no enemy variety anyways. Literally all boring samurai dudes.
*couldn't spam l1
Memories are convoluted in Ashina. It's literally magic.
>Oh shit, how did you get the branch that was not only stolen by your dickbag dad but also long wilted?
>"I remembered it."
>Oh okay that makes sense.
Dry rice is rice grains that have been cleaned and dried for the purpose of storage. Freshly harvested rice is wet and has an outer shell like sunflower seeds.
Watch out Sekiro it’s Sanstaro Undateru
Yes, you obviously played the game.
Sekiro, with Buddha's help, can remember things into existence.
>If anything it happens later
The giant Buddha is still intact, in memory 1 it falls over right before he stabs you
Memories are seriously fucky though, he remarks on your prosthetic of course, the one Wolf definitely didn't have at the time of the original happening
Good lord, the USA really did a number on Japan. The shame of being defeated in such an incredibly way has literally ended the concept of masculinity in Japan.
*parries your magic*
>boil rice
>be shinobi that kills people people in gruesome ways
>die of terror
lmao this guy is such a fag
There are ugly people in ANY race. However the top beauty possibly attainable by humans lies in Asia.
Would you fight a big headless monkey and not get fucking terrified
I think of it like the Animus. You can go back in time and experience events from before, but it doesn't go 100% like what actually happened, and you can influence the events in real time as well. Also, I kind of reasoned it out as Owl having not seen Wolf for a long time. Like he assigned him his job to guard Kuro, then fucked off to do his own shinobi shit for awhile before setting up the Hirata invasion.
she couldve been...but it seems more likely the memory was just altered somehow. butterfly has like no motivation or business being there.
>gyoi
>ho
This photo and all the movies this guy was in come from after the war.
America literally mindbroke japan into being its cockslave
It’s pretty hot
>no doujin where Emma invites a wolf for a drink, drugs him and takes his virginity
>a signal fire flies in the distance
>somewhere the Owl chuckles to himself, "My boy is now a man"
i actually like his personality and find him very cute, just fuck off and go play anthem or other garbage if you want more vocal mc
She was there to protect Kuro, Owl tricked you into fighting her, she thought you broke the iron code. Owl just pretended to die so he could kill the winner and take Kuro
Apparently she has some history with Owl, so she might just have decided to keep working with him.
She does. As a distraction. She might know Owl is too good for her to beat so she follows his orders. He is a fucker with a magic spirit animal.
How big is senpou?
I got to the main temple on top of the hill and talked to the guy inside about the divine child and whatnot
To the left leads to a cave which as far as I can tell just leads to a little building with a pickup and loops around, and on the right side of the temple there's a door that only opens on the other side
How do I get there? Is there anywhere else to go forward from here or is this a dead end and I just need to go to some of the other areas branching from the castle or something?
Gee, I wonder when he was born.
This guy never got past blazing bull
>because all he did was watching her drinking in silence
I love giving sake to Sculptor, he is literally second Sekiro dad, and his son just go out for alcohol, bring it and dad start telling stories.
At some point your dad go out and never returns
Senpou ends at the girl
You do realize there are psychopaths out there who are so dissociated that they don't fear in the traditional human way? Wolf is obviously a turbo autismo whose emotions range from killslow to killfast. The game gets that across pretty well. When he sees the ape he doesn't go "holy shit that's scary", his first reaction is "so what's the fastest way this thing can die?" And after it revives "fuck, guess I gotta do it again". He starts realizing actual human emotions after you choose the save Kuro option, and then after that he transforms his autism into sheer dedication and conviction, something a basement dwelling parental allowance NEET would know nothing about.
>She was there to protect Kuro
I thought this at first but then I remembered Innosuke and his mother. She might have been working with Owl and using her illusions to try and trick Kuro into granting the heritage but Wolf interrupts but then why would Owl send Wolf there?
that's not far fetched. owl gives you the key to her arena, pretty much leading you to her.
If they can get over their hardon for autistic corporate culture then the guys could figure out how to look handsome again.
This. They could all be treated like onryos, as O'Rin is, so they wouldn't have to be anyone we've killed or even seen before. Just some ghost schmuck that died filled with hate and is now lashing out with no particular target.
Yeah how's masculinity doing in the US by the way?
He’s not a psychopath, Owl just raised him to be a weapon
Move over DSP, there's a new shitter in town
youtu.be
No, NEETs killed the concept of masculinity in japan, as well as anime. People that think Otaku culture didn't gravely impact the female perception of men as desirable partners are delusional.
Most women don't trust men to provide for them anymore and would rather stay single and never have children then risk starting a relationship with a manchild.
To this end masculinity in japan now is more so presenting yourself as financially stable and nothing else.
She was probably fighting off Owl’s goons that were attacking Hirata estate and Inosuke and his mom got caught in the crossfire
Kek, this fucking website alone...
you are a gigantic faggot white loser, just kys
he was psycho even before owl found him. you can see in the opening cinematic. sekiro is a prime host for shura and I think thats what owl saw in him, potential for immense destruction. and its just what he needed to take over the country.
TL;DR you’re autistic
Why do you ask?
What created NEETs though? Could it be overworked salarymen never being around to raise their sons and the ensuing soulless hypermaterialist culture?
He had given up on living, he didn’t care if he died. He wasn’t psycho, just a war orphan. You retard
Why the actual FUCK am I look at buying katanas online? I know I'm autistic but I'm not actually this retarded, right?
Until it gets him killed. Kuro is pretty much Sekiro's anchoring point. He can stay sane as long as Kuro is alive. He'd probably prefer dying before Kuro.
There's a bandit archer guarding the basement
Innosuke specifically got fucked up by Butterfly's illusions, attempting to rescue Kuro from her
Why did Owl even need to play dead anyway? Back then, Wolf would probably have obeyed his orders due to the iron code being absolute.
based kuro keeping wolf sane
is there ANYTHING my little prince can't do?
They're aesthetic and probably better for home defense than a baseball bat
They're pretty useful.
Owl was a scheming ambitious fuck. Butterfly was protecting Kuro, Sekiro got tricked into fighting her
childhood trauma can turn people psychotic and sekiro demonstrates psychotic behavior by not responding to pain when he gets cut in his face and when he gives a sword a firm handshake
>What created NEETs though? Could it be overworked salarymen
it's 100% this. the work culture in japan is incredibly toxic. spending 14-16 hour days wherein you only actually do 6-8 hours of work but you're not allowed to leave until your boss does. creating the impression that your worth as an employee is how much time you spend at the company. expecting company loyalty to overcome shit pay for shit hours. if your boss wants to go out and drink then you have to go no matter what, and bosses go on power trips and make everyone go out to drink 2-3 nights per week. etc etc etc. jap men are deciding to work at ramen fast food joints and live off the minimum possible rather than work in that toxic environment and pay to raise a family that they never see.
there is some talk in the japanese political/cultural landscape addressing this issue now. there were recently a few news programs covering some data that indicate that longer work hours are inversely related to productivity per hour, and other workplace related ills. as it stands, the younger jap men are looking at the 70's-early 2000's salarymen and saying "fuck that"
Holy shit he's right.
I beat
DS-BB at lvl1 and got all the achievements.
Had toruble with sekiro until I did one thing. I played it like those samurai movies where you stand and just watch your opponent move. I fucked up gericho like this.
your hanzo steel vs my 00 buckshot any day
>is there ANYTHING my little prince can't do?
Apparently he can't stop using that shitty "secret passage"
None of his scheming makes any sense. He's stronger than Wolf and Butterfly, the only reason to send Wolf in his stead is because he's disposable. But that coverup was unnecessary.
Not to mention he doesn't even intercept Kuro during the fight, or capture him after backstabbing Wolf.
What the hell was Owl really doing?
Fight me faggot

Not the person you're arguing with but psychotic and psychopathic aren't the same thing
He wanted to be immortal but knew the divine child wouldn’t give it to him while Sekiro was still around
I fear the damage has already been done. The powerful bloodlines and ancient memes that built civilization have all been squandered within 2 generations
Such things are precious and not easily regained, meanwhile the dysgenic society that created this mess is becoming even more extreme
We had a good run but I think the Fermi Paradox has been explained.
2nd most linear souls game to date.

reminder that sekiro's normal state of being is constant suffering and the only thing warding it off is the cheap trinket chram kuro made for him.
Fucking love this picture.
That's a guy, right?
especially centipede loli
Don't psychopaths usually try to fit in and psychotic people are usually unaware that they are causing harm at all?
>Incite bandit attack on Hirata
>Put Kuro in a situation where he needs to be rescued
>show up to save the day
>pretend to be mortally wounded and trick Kuro into giving him the blessing
This is what Owl would've done if that was his goal but instead he sends Wolf and apparently ignores Kuro completely unless Kuro is somehow a stealth genius
Also why did Butterfly have that extra rez item?
Kuro is a good boy helping his shinobi feel less mental anguish.

my last hope--fantasy, really--is white men "snapping" again in apocalyptic capacity.
first, i have to define "snapping." I think that it's a mischaracterization to say that white men are pushed into violent outburst through years of bottled-up emotion and rage. rather, i think that white men will initially come up with a "final solution" to violently and completely destroy a problem that presents itself, and it is the impulse control and restraint of white men that prevent its execution, causing them to pursue more mundane and controlled solutions first.
a decent outline of this way of thinking is in the movie office space, believe it or not. milton's primary solution to his problems: burn the place down. peter's primary solution: fucking off and telling limburgh to fuck himself. michael's primary solution: the computer virus to siphon wealth from the company. these are all extreme solutions that their executive function decides against, as the outcome would solve the problem but put them into a worse position overall. what happens when their position when executing the final solution becomes better than their current position? death and destruction.
as i see it, one of 2 things will happen: either white men will slowly allow themselves to be destroyed within their own countries, or they'll act on their initial, ultra-violent impulses and we'll see massive killings of traitors and subsequent genocides.
this post isn't advocating for either, just making an observation.
>NG+
>beat Genichiro and Gyobu and even ogre easily
>die to the minibus in the castle stairs
Wtf bros
Yeah! That's what I meant.
Alright, how about that character creator for the Persona games then?
This rice is neat, does it serve any purpose?
>does it serve any purpose?
only for boomers, zoomers, and gamer girls who get lost in the relatively linear maps
That didn’t happen because Kuro madebthe contract with Sekiro
Sekiro was supposed to die to Butterfly
I FUCKING DID IT
I BEAT OWL 2
I did too. Then Demon of Hatred. Both today.
Do the dolls represent dead kids?
this is not a role playing game faggot
ewww
He has personality, it's just only subtly leaked out.
>there's no reason for Sekiro to not have a character creator.
Theres one perfectly good fucking reason in that Sekiro has a very finely focused combat system, so the inclusion of a character creator would be absolutely useless since there are no classes.
Arent they just jizo statues?
why are soulsfags the biggest retards on the planet? it baffles me because their games actually take some skill to play yet they are barely functioning beings
>None of his scheming makes any sense
Honestly, nothing about Owl's actions makes sense. Even knowing the I WANNA LIVE FOREVER motivation, the greasy old fuck kinda just goes around being a backstabbing cunt purely for the purpose of being a backstabbing cunt and never actually accomplishes anything because of it.
I honestly don't get why he murders Wolf in the first place, given the guy's presented as pretty loyal to his foster dad and the iron code at that point.
Kuro did that because Owl stabbed Wolf. Why Owl did not kidnap Kuro either during the Butterfly flight or after stabbing Wolf is odd.
Owl stole the sakura branch. Butterfly had the sakura drop which I assume belonged to Takeru judging by what Kuro says when you give it to him. There's something strange going on.
>the greasy old fuck kinda just goes around being a backstabbing cunt purely for the purpose of being a backstabbing cunt

yes yes, now compare him to Mike Tyson
Bundled jizos represent parental love. It even says something about "at least they'll go in comfort" or something to that effect in their item description.
you really are clueless
Maybe he did it because you attacked him in the memory
Nice try.
Now lets make all chinese seem like Bruce Lee. Okay they both outnumber other countries immensely and they can all beat others when outnumbered.
That's why we shouldn't take anything he does at face value
He gets rezzed by Kuro. Honestly I can't see Owl burning down Hirata out of the goodness of his heart.
nigga what
You can back stab the archer near the idol for that blood blade buff before the fight. It's really useful for doing a lot of damage at the start of the fight.
Lots of his moves are also designed to fuck you up if you dodge too early (like the running slash he does after throwing out a fire cracking or how he can switch from ichimonji into a horizontal slash if you start moving too early), but give you a huge opening if your timing is on-point.
Very good user. Now what happens if you obey Owl when you meet in the present day?
>Sekiro started as a Tenchu game
>no glorious return of best boy
East Asia, more like. Chinese and Korean women make me want to pick up the language and move out there.
Parry, save firecrackers for second phase, then jam them in his eyes.
Owl gets his shit wrecked by his psycho shura son.
>this entire post
Go outside.
He stabs Sekiro because owl 2 happens before butterfly chronologically maybe?
You become a shura and stab him and take the black mortal blade that he has on him for some reason. Whoa now that's what I call 4D chess.
At least you died to an elite. A fucking patrol of 3 enemies was my first NG+ death.
Very good. Now are his actions still hard to understand? Do shinobi value their own lives?
>Go outside.
i absolutely guarantee that i'm more masculine and /fit/ than you. care to compare?

Owl wanted Butterfly to kill Sekiro, and then he’d kill Butterfly. Then he’d get Kuro and pressure him into giving him immortality
That's ridiculous, not only is memory 2 optional, most people don't even find it on their first playthrough since it relies on accidentally wallhugging at the right place at the right time with no hint
You're a retard, good job wasting peoples time trying to be condescending though.
I had the laz shuriken by that point, so just unloaded my entire armload of ninja stars into him at the start of the second phase for a large chunk of cheesy, guaranteed damage. It's kinda no-frills compared to the firecracker, but just seems like the best use of emblems against most bosses at this point.
What's your point? What's wrong with my reasoning?
Just because it’s obscure doesn’t mean it didn’t happen canonically
I just like making him eat his own garbage. You get what you give old man and that's why you're dead.
If Owl was shadowing Wolf like he definitely would have been because he's a fucking master ninja, he would've seen Kuro come running out as their fight starts. He could kidnap Kuro then.
However instead he backstabs Wolf for no reason and doesn't even find Kuro.
What the fuck man. NOTHING he does makes any sense if his goal was to capture Kuro. Not to mention he's far more powerful than Wolf at that point, or Butterfly.
>you want to see my pics? uwu
>>>/discord/
>Owl's grand scheme is to get killed and his son turn into a crazy demon with a constant murderboner who slaughters most of japan
It's like poetry.
Reminder that the sculptor warns that the memory isn't necessarily entirely correct

Isn't memory 1 optional as well, or am I forgetting something critical there?
looks like i've won.
>Shinobi

His character is that he is a servant, a literal dog. He either serves the Owl or serves Kuro, that is his only purpose in life.
I'll give you this for free you shitter: monk gets destroyed by use of firecracker and ash
We don't know who his master is.
That's the thing, it doesn't happen canonically because it's easily skippable. Therefore it can't possibly cause something to happen, not to mention it's just plain stupid for a number of reasons not the least being that Owl attacks you first to begin with and he never brings it up elsewhere.
>45 hours
>Just finished canceling the zombie apocalypse at Mibu village, about to take on presumed boss
>Did everything else seemingly available up to that point except for headless/shichimen.
He couldn’t pressure Kuro as long as Sekiro was alive because according to Owl 2, the Shura ending, Owl 1, and basically every time Owl appears Sekiro would wreck his shit
Is this the sekiro thread? I have question.
Does the old lady in fountain palace every progress her sidequest? the fish is gone but she still keeps telling me to free her father.
He likely was taken from his family as a slave and forced into war then had the privilege of being trained relentlessly for probably 20 years. Why do you think he would have a personality? Would you ever consider disobeying Owl?
The Shura ending is the easiest one to get. Doesn’t make it canon
Memory 1 is simply Wolf going through the motions of what had already happened. The only place he can break continuity is snuffing that bandit merchant guy. Nothing else happens BECAUSE of that memory. That we know of at least.
>find damascus Wakizashi for 40% off
>it has a shitty "tacticool" grip instead of an authentic one
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
talk to the guy and then go find the fish corpse
It’s a memory, user. The ability to remember it implies it already happened
>I "WON" AN INTERNET FIGHT! WORSHIP ME!
Know how I know you're a loser with nothing of import in his life?
>trying to apply facts and logic to the memory sections
Don't think too hard about it. The stuff makes about as much sense as the dream/nightmare stuff in Bloodborne.
How are you missing the point this hard
Owl could have captured Kuro multiple times easily. He didn't. Because he didn't, Wolf got resurrected.
You're a fucking idiot explaining something that's not even in question. Follow the conversation dipshit.
yeah but i'm not a (skinny)fat loser :^) feels good man
Doesn't she die if you reach the top? She starts stabbing the corpses of the nobles you killed and then collapses.
there are two old women
Check out the spot you fought the guardian ape.
But a loser nonethess? Ok.
He's explicitly stated to be a rogue shinobi. He has no master. He's just a selfish old fuck trying to get his hands on immortality.
Ok :^)))))))
You wouldn't have much of a personality either if you'd died like a thousand or more times.
By who and where?
He didn’t capture Kuro because Sekiro had to die
Sekiro didn’t die, and Kuro ran off with him. If Kuro saw that Owl had stabbed Sekiro, he’d never give him immortality. He stabbed wolf, heard Kuro coming, and hid. He can’t force Kuro to give him immortality
Can we agree that this is aesthetically the most beautiful game ever made? I've never felt tempted to make screenshots in a game like I take photos in real life before.
If only the monoscope had the same kinds of options a real life camera has.
Don’t get mad at me because you’re too stupid to make inferences
But the lady on top mentions her father. Does she give anything if I take the whiskers to her? Because I gave them to the dude near the feeding spot.
One of the eavesdrop conversations in the second hirata memory.
Anyone have any tips for NG without Kuro's Charm? I don't have a problem with having to perfect deflect instead of guarding attacks, but the inflated damage, posture and vit on enemies makes it not as fun anymore.
Why did he want to get Wolf resurrected? Not to use him, surely, since he hasn't made any contact in the three years between Hirata and the present. Allowing Wolf to spend even more time with Kuro with no Owl influence whatsoever would make no sense if Owl was planning to make Wolf betray Kuro all along.
I mean, not him, but Owl is considered to be THE shinobi. He's not really rogue, he's just top dog. Well until Sekiro kills him. Twice. Daddy Owl even feels something akin to pride.
>But the lady on top mentions her father.
the two old women are sisters, they both have the same father
Also why the fuck can't I turn off the grapple points in the menu? They get in the way of so many good shots.
can you just kill urself?
ty
You can beat Skyrim in 11 minutes, and it's "le 100 hour epic."
>He's just a selfish old fuck trying to get his hands on immortality.
He literally did everything completely fucking wrong then, for a Great Shinobi he doesn't have a clue. He might possibly be the most ignorant character in the game.
I find that hard to believe though.
does anything happen if you complete the game without resurrecting or dying? i know that people have made no hit runs of bosses so far but not a complete game yet. would be cool if there were some hidden dialogue if you get to a point in the game without resurrecting.
oh shit thanks user. this is like the fifth time i've checked the whole lake.
Could it be that nobody knows and simply assume him to be rogue? I think he tries to engineer the Shura ending for an unknown master.
so anons
how many times you HESITATED?

>Sword Saint with a gun
Was it kino?
What's the point of bite down/hidden tooth? I die enough in this game without needing a suicide option, Miyazaki.
This. He deliberately sets up Sekiro as the immortal, never himself.
He was trying to manipulate Kuro to have to rely on him so he could play the “I’m an old man and I could die at any moment, leaving you completely defenseless, sure would be nice to be immortal so I could keep you safe” card
i liked it personally
>Owl getting backstabbed in the Shura ending just as he achieves victory is somehow intentional on his part
>coping mutt
Every time
at least isshin died unlike these monkey
Resetting enemy aggro for more stealth kills, but From forgot that they don't know how to make games so it's easier to just run away.
When you use it and res, you can res again right away if you die again. And if you use it that second time you can do it a third time. Combine with a jizo statue and you can do it 4 times. Usually a way to get tricky with healing. I did against the demon of hatred. Had way less than half health but wanted to use only 1 gourd. Cue hidden tooth, res, heal. At full health and I can res again if I need to. That is almost literally the exact reason to use it.
He's obviously intelligent, considering his combat ability. I would say he's just uneducated - considering that he's lived in the shadows doing nothing but "practicing the blade" all of his lives.
nice incel post u got there
Obviously, as per the Iron Code, his own life doesn't matter if his death fits his master's purpose.
Silly then that he lets his guard down and then seems so surprised about it
I mean yeah, maybe he didn't really die but then that raises some other questions
All he ends up doing is making Kuro distrust him since he supposedly died at Hirata. Furthermore it seems Kuro developed his desire to sever the chains of immortality largely because of what happened at Hirata.
Why did he go missing for three years before demanding Kuro give him the Dragon's heritage? What was he doing in those three years?
yup. incel and proud.
It's so your resurrections don't become unavailable after resurrecting. But it only happens that way when you use those items. If you use it after dying to a boss you're just dead.
6-7
He didn't need to die is the point, Shinobi aren't so suicidal they'll just die because "eh my mission is done, why not"
And it wasn't integral to his mission to be like "Woaaah a shura omg" right before he died
Literally the only boss in the game I can't enjoy at all. Single ape is one of the easiest ones for me, but double trouble just makes it tedious to do "properly". I usually just end up rushing one of them down with mortal draw or something.
your fantasy is of you able to force fuck women like the "old times"
not gonna happen kiddo,kys.
You can be dumb but have a genius mind when it comes to combat. He didn't think the kid he saved would be a problem.
I mean yeah his reaction then is my biggest problem. Maybe he underestimates exactly what Shura is? Maybe he was never told.
He's old enough that whatever master he once might have had is very likely long dead. I don't think there anything that implies he has a master that's in any way related.
what part of incel don't you understand? incel and proud here, mate
But then why does he seem to give a shit about the Iron Code if it no longer applies to him? Just to manipulate Sekiro?
Maybe it's a bad theory
Anyway if Owl wanted a shura he should've just gone and bullied sculptor
16
It's possible he thought wolf had a greater ambition like he himself did. Something to get to. A reason to kill that isn't just killing. Little did he know, he basically made Wolf into a shinobi just to kill who he said to. The surest way to become Shura.
Tips for grandma butterfly
Shuriken her out of the air
attack until she starts to counter attack then dodge to the side and keep attacking
When she summons her asshole ghosts you can shuriken those to death or just run around the arena until she's done shooting butterfly bullshit at you
Grandma Butterfly isn't that hard, but it feels like she's the first fight where the game really wants you to understand that relentless offense is the key, rather than dodging everything and trying to get one or two hits in like in dark souls
you can kill him for good with the mortal blade tho
He doesn't want it, whatever's pulling his strings does. I think a hidden master is the only explanation for his behavior. It also makes great DLC bait.
>pirate game
>play for 20 mins
>enemy tracking all over the place
ah DS2 all over again, i'll pass
when's the proper From game coming out?
Sculptor is not a real Shura. In the DoH battle memory it says straight out that he failed so he became something else. The Demon of Hatred.
What the fuck is Owl doing with the second mortal blade in the Shura ending anyway? Seems like a weird excuse to have him fuck off and conveniently miss two boss fights.
Another filtered Soulstard
>Just to manipulate Sekiro?
Obviously, makes me wonder if the iron code he told Wolf isn't "edited" from the real one.
Hearing it in the intro really set my alarm bells off, Shinobi in ninja fiction are always loyal to their lords first and beyond all else.
Yes
I guess I just take issue with calling him dumb when he may not know better. But I call my customers fucking retards everyday for not knowing better, so I'm just a hypocrite!
Isn't that motivation enough? Of course he wants to enforce the code, as it gives him direct control over Wolf.
I think rushing down waifu ape is how it's intended to be done, given she has such a surprisingly low posture bar.
>she
it's his FUCKING SON, WAIFU APE IS FUCKING DEAD, IT LITERALLY SAYS SO IN THE WHITE FUCKING FLOWER TEXT, AND YOU CAN SEE THE FUCKING BODY IN THE CAVE WHERE YOU FIGHT 2 APES
>filter
this isn't /vg/ the fuck are you doing lmao
Shura are demons, the two are used interchangeably among multiple NPCs foreshadowing this.
Sculptor being a failed shura was that state he was in for most of the game where he is clearly beyond human (confident he cannot be killed by dragonrot)
It's just a matter of semantics and pointless too since they both are beings of mindless destruction.
No, I think that's a little too easy. But it might be it, I don't know. I would be disappointed for sure.
>Just to manipulate Sekiro?
That's literally it. He doesn't give a fuck about following and kind of code himself, he's just brainwashing a killing machine to value him and his orders above all others. It's the sort of thing actual cult leaders do.
Can't beat that owl fucker. Why are most of his attacks unblockable. Like this dash swing.
To go find and slap it out of Genichiro's hands.
Him being a one-armed immortal mostly points to him being an earlier Sekiro iteration, as Immortal Severance implies, in my opinion.
the 30 minute speedruns are heavy with skips and glitches
which flower?
this flower?
I feel like whatever group Owl represents, if any, is relatively independent instead of being stably subordinated to a certain feudal lord. Something like mercenaries. Would make sense to condition disciples to be loyal to the group first and to the contract second.
Eh. They make it seem like Sekiro's shura mode was way more lethal than Sculptor's. They say not long after that Sekiro had already murdered thousands. Sculptor was taking his time, but then he also says "finish me" in the end of the fight. Maybe he was still in there holding back what he could still hold back.
I thought it would be a big plot point but like many things it wasn't, just an excuse to have SSJ Isshin.
Honestly Owl seems like a complete retard, his idea of gaining immortality seems to be...randomly steal items vaguely related to immortality...? Undermine his host country?
Shinobi are supposed to be experts at gathering info and he's supposed to be the greatest shinobi in the game.
no it doesn't
>Hearing it in the intro really set my alarm bells off
Yeah, as soon as he says "obey me... then your master" I knew that would be some kind of major plot point at some point.
Reminded me of that hidden rule in the first Robocop movie preventing him from killing any of the company elite, like a failsafe measure.
More like otherworldly demons bent on the destruction of mankind. Okami clan maybe? Revenge?
Bloodborne wasn't quite as good technically, but had more interesting art direction. Not to say Sekiro was bad, but you sure see a lot of pagodas.
>implying he didn't move on with his (un) life and get a new waifu with his mighty chad roar
That guy is a sperg but it does say this in Headless Ape's remnant.
"The battle memory of an extraordinary foe. Although distant, recollection of such a memory provided sustenance for the Wolf. At one time the Guardian Ape shared its den with a mate. Be he alone became infested, while the other passed away. Now, even the flowers offered in tribute to her passing have withered to dust."
Sure points to him not caring about Ashina at all
Unless you can provide any tangible clues that there might be some group like that, you need to stop watching so much Naruto. And even still, if that is his goal Owl is a retard because most choose to disobey the iron code and not become shura at all.
I dunno, shura Wolf just looks like an edgelord. DoH looks like the sort of thing that would kill everyone in Ashina, and he probably would have too if Wolf hadn't stopped him.
I estimate 25. My policy was that if I had to heal or revive during Jobichiro or phase 1, I'd just let myself die.
>People still don't understand Owl
What the fuck? Just read the memories.
Do you have something to add to the discussion? Anything new would be welcome.
There's no telling what he turned into later on with that ending. Edgelord or not. He's also considered a man with no equal. I'd wager he'd also be shura with no equal.
I never thought about that but I imagine that must have been the main concern.
I really would like to know why Butterfly had the Sakura Droplet
From what I gather it came from the oath breaking between Tomoe and her master
There's no reason for her to have it, Butterfly is confirmed to have attacked Hirata samurai so her loyalties are suspect.
They used to eat people and kill babbies while raping and stuff; now they make anime; so overall end result is good lol
Is the best late game farm spot Ashina Castle Antechamber?
Honestly anything that makes the life of a waifushitter a bit worse is ok by me. So I'm all for no character creators.
>Westerns can't appreciate a character unless hes either a snarky millennial or a roid raging kratos figure
That's a worse spot than Gun Fort idol and both of them are worse spots than farming red dudes, particularly ashina outskirts stairwell
I've just started ng+ and have already gotten the Fresh serpent viscera, now on my way to get the other there is still a live giant snake blocking the way. Is this an oversight since I'm not supposed to do them in that order or are there actually supsoed to be two or multiple of these great serpents alive at once? Can you kill both?
Don't forget the stronk womyn who don't need no man who might be sassy and black with an afro.
this
You can only kill one
The other has to be distracted by a dancing monkey
even better with some reshade
Did you stab that other one in the eye? If the one you got the viscera from is dead then that should be the one that shows up in the sunken valley area. Or well 8n this case, so that should be the only one.
Yayoi looks more asian, are jomons mixed races?
not to be that guy
but shading/contrast is so fucked up
but if u enjoy it thats all that matters senpai
I’m pretty high up the mountain now, these monks are odd to say the least.
Gun fort guy gives you about 300 per run. Purple guy in Atnechamber gives about 1000. How much do you get for Red guys?
I mean. Kratos is pretty cool but so is Sekiro. Probably more so.
Is this sen or exp? If exp then I was killing red dudes that you can get to from the Old Grave idol. 1,000 a dude.
thats what happens when you can't find pussy
and tons of centipedes
They're like 600 each with the flame keg one being worth over 1000. Also, they drop materials like fulminating mercury.
He's probably doing it for screenarchery
You think thats weird huh? Well they're real
en.wikipedia.org
He does talk. Just because he's not quipping endlessly doesn't mean he lacks character.
You're deluded. Korean women look like gremlins before surgery and makeup. That one there has probably had hundreds of thousands of dollars in work done.
Don't you have an opinion piece to write?
Jomon is indigenous Japanese. Yayoi is blood from mainland Asia by way of Mongols.
>this guy has no character why wont they let me create a guy with even less character instead
I don't give a shit what his "character" is, it's no better than a blank slate which means it's pointless.
Nothing he does or says is any different to what a mute souls MC does or says. It's practically identical so there's no reason to remove customisation.
XP and he's right next to the idol. About how long does it take?
About how long does the run take?
>indigenous Japanese
What, did they sprout out of the soil?
>kill headless
>TING TING TING TING TINGTINGTING
>QUEST COMPLETE
>YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Not that user but he's got a point. They had a chance to do something with this character and he's really poorly developed, both as his own character and as a medium for interacting with the world. Could have really done the setting some good to have more of Wolf's interactions and thoughts known.
>race doesn't exist
soys alert
>race doesn't exist
Who said that?
But that's not fucking true at all you dense piece of shit. I bet you didn't even get past the very start of the game.
Indigenous as can be for anyone not in Africa. They came over from the mainland when Japan was connected to it by a land bridge. The Yayoi people came millennia latter on boats and intermingled with the people already there.
indigenous people are those who are native to a geographic region and have diverged genetically and culturally from other races of people
Why is Isshin so fucking full of inconsistencies?
>Parry, I am supposed to attack now BUT 3 things happen at random
>Takes the hit as intended
>Just instantly dodges away
>Gets hyperarmor out of the blue and hits you for 5 million damage while you are attacking
Fuck this gay shit

ancient Koreans crossed the sea to nippon and slaughtered/oppressed the primitve native peoples before eventually befouling their own bloodlines with theirs and eventually inventing hentai
This is what we know as the Japanese
yea i turned brightess up since but i dont take alot of screenshots
Uh. Depends how good you are at parrying. You can get one by hugging the corner and stealth deathblowing him, the other two are both facing you but you CAN lock to one and use the whistle. It might take a minute or so for 3,000 exp. If you've held off on leveling skills it can go up quite a lot per run. Careful though. Don't die. If you try to go fast it turns into a riskier run.
Does he talk?
Show me some interesting quotes that aren't the following:
a) ....
b) .......
c) Solid snake-isms (...dragonrot? ...healing gourd? psycho mantis???)
d) Literally saying the dialogue option you just selected
e) [Say nothing]
f) Summarising what an NPC just told you
g) HARD MODE: Not in a cutscene.
As the other user said it doesn't ruin the tone of your game to have Sekiro verbally react to something in the environment, even if it's very rare. It reminds you that Sekiro is actually a person and not a preset souls MC you can't customise.
>He still believes the out of Africa theory
>Why is Isshin so fucking full of inconsistencies?
sasuga Saint Isshin no Swordu, Gunnu and Spearu
