To me, personally, it seems that collecting stuff that people already know about and are collecting for financial purposes seems dumb.
Expensive collectibles usually are a result of them at one point being though of as worthless throwaways, for example Hot Wheels original 16 models being just a bunch of toy cars, gaining their true value long down the line.
I don't think stuff like pops that are designed for the purpose of being collected will ever become desirable collectibles.

Price isnt a good point to make. Most normies buy a handful of figures in their life, they'r ather buy a figure that's ten bucks more like a nendroid. Nendos are a better deal than figma nowadays. The latter has cut back significantly on accessories and rarely releases more than 1 character from any series. It also feels like the average price is way higher than 50 now, I don't see most of the newer ones dipping below 60 bucks on amiami.
