I didn’t like Sekiro much because I found the gameplay extremely difficult without much reward or payoff. If you enjoyed it great but don’t bitch when other people say they didn’t enjoy it.

Both areas im stuck in are dark caves with dudes who beat myself. Im putting the game down right now. Not really feeling motivated to beat it atm.

That's fine but I suck at video games and I thought sekiro was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences I've had in the last few years.

I enjoyed it and 100% it. But now I feel hallow and empty because usually these games last me months but Sekiro lasted me a week.

Wish it had some semblance of replayability

Attached: IMG_20190402_093630_590.jpg (372x521, 45K)

what the fuck is the point of this thread?
>I'm shit at video games, don't bully me
don't tell me what to do, faggot

Understandable OP
I feel the same about fighting games
I want to be better at them, but I get too anxious when playing other people and I start spilling my spaghetti

Not everyone criticizes Sekiro for the same thing you know?

For example, I thought Sekiro was a good game, a 7.5/10 I'd say with very solid gameplay. I just thought everything else about it was a bit lacking from setting to atmosphere to replayability to lack of other weapons and such. Kinda forgettable OST too.

That's cool, I don't give a fuck if you enjoyed or didn't enjoy something, or if you get run over by a train, really.

Sounds like bullshit to me.

>I didn’t like Sekiro much because I found the gameplay extremely difficult without much reward or payoff.
>I suck dick so game is bad the post
top retard go back to your souls baby

>but don’t bitch when other people say they didn’t enjoy it.
no one is bitching about that
it's people who didnt like the game and want to force the devs to change it that are the problem

>If you didn't enjoy it great but don’t bitch when other people say they enjoyed it.

100% sekiro is much faster and easier than other fromrpgs
If you beat the game 4 times to get all endings you pretty much will end up getting all other acheevos. And after you've done it once, you can finish the game in 4-6h easily.

Yeah, you haven't touched this game.

>tfw playing ng+4 demon bell no charm right now
Just the right level of difficulty and intensity for me familia. The difficulty meme is really exaggerated though. Even at this stage very few things will legitimately one hit/combo you like some retards complain, and even then you have resurrect.

There's definitely things to criticise about it. Besides what you mentioned most of the combat arts are pretty shit, especially for the cost of spirit emblems, while some are really damn powerful like the high monk for punishing sweeps. I still find the basic gameplay really enjoyable and I appreciate the setting, I really don't play many Sengoku Japan games though.

Mad cause bad

>And after you've done it once, you can finish the game in 4-6h easily.
This is fairly accurate to my games. I've gotten through ng+2, ng+3 and maybe the first quarter of ng+4 in roughly 12 hours, maybe a little less. Admittedly I did Shura ending in ng+3, but I also wasted a lot of time chasing extra statues and divine grass that I don't really need anyway as well as killing minibosses instead of rushing bosses.

My first playthrough was like 45 hours though because I ran around like a retard doing things in the wrong order, trying to get carps before diving, generally sucking etc

This.
No replay value whatsoever.

Not saying it needs builds, but it needs another approach to encounters that isn't mindless aggression. Maybe a close to mid-range shinobi weapon like the kusarigama. You trade off the sheer deflection strength of the katana for less damage and the ability to space out enemies.

Fuck you shitbag

>without much reward or payoff.
what the hell do you want, some level ups, exp, and double lootboxes?

you need to think of games like sekiro like tetris, its just a puzzle game without any reward.

It has more replay value than Soulshit since it's actually fun to play

People have the right to free speech and voice they opinion.

If you can' t handle that, grow some balls or get the sand out of your vagina.

Why do you guys bait so hard?

>tfw just came home
>let's try isshin again
>fail 5 times in a row against geniggero

what the fuck guys
i think i give up soon

>fail 5 times in a row against geniggero
I think it's time to take a break user, maybe you're tired

I enjoyed the gameplay.
I enjoyed the story.
I enjoyed the characters
I enjoyed the bosses.
I enjoyed Purification ending.
I enjoyed Demon Bell/Path of Hardship difficulty modifiers.

I hated the setting.
I hated the OST.
I hated the world design.
I hated the linearity .
I hated the lack of replay value.
I hated the reuse of boss fights. (Genichiro 3 times, Owl twice, ape 3, monk twice etc)
I hated the returned ending

6/10

I'm fine with people not liking it.
I'm laughing and pointing at people desperately cramming reasons other than "it's too hard".

it's literally okay to admit you suck at videogames and you have no interest in investing the time getting good. turning into a machiavellian 300 iq in-depth analyzer pundit and drop down an essay when it's just about you getting destroyed is not believable.

How often do I need to hit Isshin before he hits back? Once or twice?

Nice reddit pasta

But theres nothing political about it, how is it reddit

Now I lost 10 times against him and only made it to Isshin once idk what is wrong I had no problems up to this point. I only have 10 ATT and 15 VIT I saw guides and they had 20 VIT and 15 ATT (and divine grass, rice, extra revives) maybe I will just delete my save and start from the beginning with a guide.

I've almost finished Sekiro.
I dont like it.

I dont think its a bad game. Just don't think it does enough

It's reddit because i dont like it

>I only have 10 ATT and 15 VIT
Maybe instead of using a guide try exploring your surroundings and talking to people

Attached: 1548293006773.png (683x719, 682K)

>waaahhhh there are no summons and I can't cheese waaahh

>I hated the linearity .

?? This is the most nonlinear From game in years, far less than DS3 and BB.

I will never understand why all these people complain that the 'games to hard'. Its really not if you actually take the time to ya know, play the game? I thought it was hard at the start, and pushed through it then ya know what? it was not hard after I learned to not play it like dark souls.

Also the rep of fromsoft now is 'gee games hard guys' so all these casuals buying the 'hard' game then complaining its hard is kinda fucking ridiculous.

Sekiro has caused the most butthurt to this board in since BotW and I love it. Nobody gives a shit if you like this game or not, it’s all autism

these are the people who say there's no point to exploring

The game is not that good

1) the soundtrack is pretty garbage
2) the locations are all really similiar
3) exploration is mostly useless and also really limited
4) standard enemies might as well not be there
5) prosthethic arm is meh
6) Combat is quite repetitive
7) Camera is wonky,DS games had this problem too but the difference is that you move way faster in this game
8) No Equipment other than items
9) There is no leveling but it has a skill system that frankly sucks
10) They made the game very difficult right from the beginning just to increase the relative short longevity
11) Just lacks variety and that hurts replayability a ton

If you're allowed to have an opinion about a game, we're allowed to have an opinion about your opinion. If you disagree, you are proving that when people go against the status quo, they aren't fighting for equality, they're fighting for special privelage. You want the game to be babymode but we aren't allowed to call you a baby for it? Fuck off.

??
Sekiro has the same issue as DS3's archive key bullshit but with Gunfort key.
And BB had chalice dungeons which add destroy linearity.

t. Filtered by Ogre

>Don't bitch
You're making a whole thread about a game you didn't even enjoy.

After you beat Genichiro you can go to 3 different areas which is already more non
linear than majority of Souls games and BB
>And BB had chalice dungeons which add destroy linearity.
Not sure I understand how shitty procedurally generated levels that have nothing to do with the main game destroy linearity.

Are you trying to deny that there is a sudden huge difficulty spike right at the first boss or the Ogre?
The mini bosses that you fight before them are barely a test and the player has the option to skip 90% of the mobs.

Nah, I'm just saying that you suck at videogames.

DeS, DS1, and DS2 are far more non linear than sekiro.

Set the music volume to 0, it's literally unnecessary

I struggled more with the samurai minibosses than I did with ogre when I first started. I don't get how anyone gets grabbed by that big slow fuck.

It’s difficult in a way that’s completely unsatisfying. Fromsoft needs to cut the wonky telegraphing out of their games entirely because they’ve been doing this shit since DaS2 and it’s only gotten worse. The entire game is just annoying attack patterns with awkward timing.

Don't worry OP, there are still some of us that didn't think it was anything special. I finished it, but didn't enjoy it that much. The parry combat and lack of variety didn't appeal to me at all. I went right back to playing Souls after the credits rolled. I probably won't buy any more From games unless their next one is either a Souls, Armored Core or King's Field game. Sekiro was an interesting experiment, but like with some of From's lesser games (Ninja Blade, Kuon), it shows that not everything they touch is automatically gold.

A lot of that like OST and setting is your personal taste which is fine, but the bosses thing is disingenuous. You fight Genichiro twice. I wouldn’t count the tutorial in which you’re supposed to lose, and his fight at the end of the game is just an extremely short little opening to the real fight. You also only fight the Ape twice. Owl’s second fight is also drastically different and I think warranted a second fight. The monk reskin is absolute bullshit though.

The technique to beat the Ogre relatevely easily was to use fire or make him follow you down the stairs,i personally didn't realize this and continued to fight him on the stairs and when he did that lunge grab he would easily catch me,that's a ohk more often than not.

Hey not everybody can git gud and that's fine.
You'll always be a little pussy bitch.

I didn't really find it much harder than Souls but got bored of it after a single playthrough. The lack of reward / pay off is a very valid criticism, especially in ng+. It's essentially a boss rush game then, and exactly the same experience every time.

I enjoy the dark souls games because there is trial and error that still make it fun. Sekiro is not like that. I can trial and error a lot in this game too but it's just rewarding when every mini boss and boss is the same. They're not even menacing, they just... feel like invaders in dark souls lmao. It's just a fucking annoyance. Final boss is ok.

>I didn’t like Sekiro much because I found the gameplay extremely difficult
fuck off casual

>Even at this stage very few things will legitimately one hit/combo you like some retards complain, and even then you have resurrect.
I think my gripe with the game is how fucking deviously slow it was to let you in on the tiny ass fucking character progression this game has.

Abhorrent opinion

so is you but you weren't aborted.

I fucking love this game, not as much as BB or DS but still
youtube.com/watch?v=EjyOTtvAYJQ

Time for some facts
pros:
>way better combat than all previous games
>better, tighter, more responsive movement all around
>no overleveling / summoning easy mode, eat shit baddies
>bosses are all top tier except shitty dodge/run bosses like demon of hatred or bull
cons:
>no customization
>no replayability
>firecrackers and ichimonji busted
>no hidden area
>exploration not rewarding, as you will only find useless consumables
>dragonrot and exp/money loss systems are pretty bad, they should've kept souls death system

> >no overleveling
MASK
OF
DRIGIN

that you can only complete once reaching the last area, ok bro

Just because you are bad and haven't yet beat SS, doesn't mean I'm wrong .
Once you "get" the game you can beat it really quickly.
Of course the 4-6h I mentioned was ng+, where you have all the prosthetics, beads and gourds, so you can run past any optional content and just do the bosses

>exploration not rewarding

I want to argue this. Im not saying its as good as the souls games (finding sick ass armor around every corner) but there are a lot of really cool items you can find by exploring. Finding the mist raven was fun same with the monk skill tree and several ingredients like that ember used to give fire upgrades. Also, there are several beads to find which always feel satisfying to find. I never really felt like any detour I followed wasn't worth it.

> NG+ is easier than original game
Fucking Memezaki ruins it every time!

most optional paths have something cool at the end. But the problem is that 90% of the white blobs (items) scattered around are fucking boring ass consumables that you will not even use in your first playthrough

>keeping kuro's charm

Attached: 1493949857776.png (512x512, 148K)

As I see it those people expect story as a reward. And it's ok to be like that, and it's good that such games exist.
The problems are the retards who don't want to understand that the reward from From games isn't the story, but the gameplay itself.

No worries man. It's got a cool story, and interesting characters, but the "accomplishment" of overcomming challenge is a large portion of the experience. It's like The Witness or Baba Is You: If you don't like solving puzzles for the gratification of solving puzzles, then you're not going to like those games.

This is bait I’m gonna stop responding enjoy your (You)

I think a lot of people will appreciate the beautiful environments, character and creature design but it is admittedly frustrating not to be able to experience those things because you're just not good enough to beat a certain enemy.

>rice heir
>More rice my lord?

Attached: images.jpg (452x678, 31K)

>shitty dodge/run bosses like demon of hatred
Sorry but you are just shitter.
You don't need to dodge/run vs him.

being an umbrella nigger is even easier

this. its a feeling of accomplishment when you go from getting your ass handed to you to beating the same enemies untouched. i also like the level design in this game, and have fun exploring

I completed the game few times and I still wanna play but dlc is probably year away at least.

I didn't used umbrella, yet i used my feathers for 2 attack patterns: charge and second phase aoe.
Every other attack you can just outplay like normal enemy.
Dodge fire side attacks, parry right side(or head one) attacks. His default combo is fire->fire->normal->fire.

still a boring ass boss, having to use prosthetic and/or dodge instead of parrying isn't fun

Took me way to long to master dodging fire side punch combo.

It is fun you dumb nigger.
Instead of being "press lb in right timing" this boss is pure is "press lb, press o, press x(to dodge jump attack), press rt and also add rb until boss dies"
It makes you use your brain at full power instaed of just playing rhytm game.

It's pretty linear user

Attached: linear.png (497x638, 9K)

You 100% it in a week? Wew

Why the fuck would you start over you retard? you do know you can explore the entire game whenever you want at the point you're at, right?

You're seriously under-leveled.

I found Sekiro to be too easy, but I still can't beat the Dark Souls 2 DLC bosses.

Attached: PV5ozoG[1].jpg (1920x1080, 271K)

just summon :^)

Are you actually underestimating how much time NEETs have? I don't even know if the user is a NEET, but some people have a fuck ton of time on their hands. Some people take off work for games, 100 percenting a game in a week is a very doable task.

Fair enough, but even if you have a ton of time. 7 hours or so a day of straight gaming almost sounds like work.

Who the fuck fought Corrupted Monk before Genichiro?

Corrupted Monk is the last boss of Mibu village, you know, that place where you get the last ingredient for the incense?
.

Nothing is stopping you from going there. Did it on my second playthrough.

snake eyes is a pretty firm filter for low health/attackpower players.

>Sekiro too easy
>DS2 too hard

Attached: index.jpg (225x225, 7K)

Let me guess, you entered Hirata Estate immediately and ran into the minibosses spamming R1 without reading any of the tutorials?

>If you enjoyed it great but don’t bitch when other people say they didn’t enjoy it.
That's too general a statement to hold any meaning. What if people are arguing objectivity? What if it's someone like you who starts a thread saying
>I didn't like X because hard
on a basket weaving discussion board? Too many variables for such a general statement to mean anything. It depends on the context.

>Chink influence
>expect more of anything than a grind
It's like you don't known goomunnism

Attached: 1552991058851.png (764x938, 554K)

no one is bitching to people who "didn't enjoy it"
everyone is bitching to people who don't enjoy it and want it to be sculpted in their image

>not autistically exploring everywhere
I fought corrupted monk before Genchiro every playthrough
Ichimonji hard counters Snake eyes

they literally teach you the basics like 3 times before you even get the bell to enter hirata

This. There would be no discussion uf the people arguing it's too hard were not trying to actively change the game and possibly future ones.

Yeah but its still not the normal progression.

Based.
>it's bait when I get offended and proven wrong
Cringe.

yes and new player is going to experiment on some miniboss deep underground instead of just turning around saying I dont think I should be here.

>iamverysmart

A new player who is likely a fromsoft veteran? Yes.

You forgot Corrupted Monk 2 before Divine Dragon and I would rename Start to Genichiro 1

>a single player game only lasts a week or so
Who would've fucking thought? Go jack off to your building then. Or take your ADD pills and play it in a month or so

frontlinejp.net/2019/04/03/sekiro-shadows-die-twice-director-miyazaki-discusses-his-vision-and-how-it-was-conceived-part-2-2/
>(Miyazaki) says that as Sekiro is different from Dark Souls, players may first find it to be difficult, but as they learn new ways of fighting and new tactics and get better, they should feel the pleasure of getting better, which is part of their usual unchanging theme of gaining catharsis through overcoming hardship
>The interviewer says that boss battles are especially difficult, and to this Miyazaki says that this should result in great feelings of accomplishment when players manage to defeat them, saying that when they were playtesting the game, people would yell out in glee when defeating a boss.

>boo hoo I can't take feedback to my opinions
The fact you felt the need to make a thread about how mean everyone is to you on an anonymous image board is really telling about what kind of person you are.

Is a response one can make to any post and holds no meaning on its own.

Attached: 1488474953019.jpg (669x473, 361K)

The usual aspect of the mibu nobles is the dude hiding in the mansion. After drinking holy water he becomes a squish okami, probably because he has noble blood. The peasants turn into okamis, protectors of the fontainhead. They still have the habit of drinking holy water and because of corrupted monk, ruling from fontainhead, they drink the wrong water and can't access fontainhead anymore. So fontainhead is nearly destroyed and abandoned, with just some noble wandering around endlessly.

Where the fuck do I go after the cherry tree (just to find that the branch is stolen) and after killing the snake? Am I supposed to kill the sasquatch now?

Hoped he was optional. Also where can I find that monk boss tha tlooks like posessed monk but without the purple shit?

I'm trying to rationalize the relationship between Kuro and Sekiro by probing that they are different versions of the same person.

M8 their relationship is REALLY disturbing.

k

Not really. Japs are fags and like gay shit. That's all.

Game would have been 10/10 if I could create my own ninja + added cool new katanas

Damn bro whats with the hostility, I just prefer games with high replay value so it feels like i didnt waste my money

>you don't need dodge/run vs him
>dodge fire side attacks
>use feathers

what?

>And after you've done it once, you can finish the game in 4-6h easily.
the same is true for all other from games

Basically. Sekiro isn't a cool enough character to justify them taking that stuff away. Even if it was all just katanas, actually finding stuff and equipping it would have been cool. Elemental damage and other stuff. Also the game is short as hell, The others were longer and had coop and pvp to extend the length for those who wanted it.

I did, I saw Genichiro at the top of the castle and tought "alright, that's clearly where I'm supposed to go so I'll explore the other areas", cleared all of gun fort, senpo temple and mibu village before going back and fighting Genichiro for the first time

That's a pretty common mentality in games to "do other stuff then later do the story" lad, of course all those three areas become important later on but in your first playthrough you're not going to think some dank ass village hidden in a forest that's hidden behind a poison pit that you have to throw yourself off a cliff to find will turn out to be the main path.

>tfw have Isshin's phase 1 memorized
Don't let him Ashina Cross, when he sheathes advance on him and he'll hilt check you, parry this then punish his sweep with a stomp
If he starts stepping/fading to the side he's gonna thrust, dodge it. Even if you botch the mikiri you'll dodge in close for a solid hit

Attached: 1553220020436.jpg (1024x682, 231K)

No you didn't, fuck off.

It's just a close bond between a warrior and his lord lad

He’s just protecting a kid from people who want to exploit him.

This, after I saw a webm of Geni in one of these threads I knew I needed a rematch immediately. Imagine my surprise when I oneshot his lightning phase

It's not disturbing at all. Sekiro was orphaned at a young age, traumatized and picked up by a hardcore ass nigga who definitely made him endure a horrible training regime, and on top of that ever since picking him up he had been telling him that the only value his life had was to defend his lord. of course sekiro will grow up to be loyal as fuck.
