Where are all the necromancer games?

Path of Exile has really fun necromancer/summoner builds

The closest thing you get is an undead themed army in a strategy game like HOMM or TW:WH.
They don't make RPG games where you're actually a bad guy and go around indiscreetly destroying a entire village so you can add those dirt poor farmers to the ranks of your undead army.

In pathfinder kingmaker you do that but instead of turning the citizens into an army you put their souls in jars and sell them on the black market

Necro class is cool, but it doesn't really feel like the necromancer fantasy. A game that does literally has to be balanced around that, because there fantasy is inherently snowbally and is either totally OP or nerfed into the ground in any other game.

Is the game any good?

I loved being a necromancer in Diablo 2, what are some games that do it similar to that?

Shadow of mordor games would be the closest thing to the mechanics you might want in a necromancer game, specifically number 2.

Diablo 3 necro is okay. HoMM3 Obviously.

Maybe Overlord 1 & 2. It has you commanding lots of minions instead of skeletons, so not technically necromancy but it still feels that way.

Was a fun idea. Little janky control-wise but I could imagine re-visiting this sorta game.

Oh yeah there was also Necron (?) on steam which worked kinda like Power Lich but it got canned because the programmer took off with the cash i think. The artist (former blizzard artist i believe) tried to revive it, but I'm not sure if anything came of it.

It was fun but extremely fucking bugged when I played it at launch, there are some DLCs out now but I don't know how good they are. Just saying that the evil necromancer dude power fantasy is quite nice in this game.

I played it after it went on discount. I encountered 0 bugs, 1 hard crash in like 50 hours.

Enjoyed the game tremendously desu. It's much better than Obsidian's trash these days.

the problem with necro class that spam undead to attack usually start strong early game but is useless late game because the minions are to weak

I mean they were bound to fix the bugs at some point I had game breaking ones like 3 Amiris running around or Tristian being a dog forever. I'm just waiting until all the DLCs are out to try it again.

How do I reproduce this?

Arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura lets you go learn necromancy spells/summons as well as the ability it revive certain killed npc to torture them for information.

There's this RTS game where you can be a necromancer faction and flood absolutely YUGE armies of skellingtons. I can't remember what it's called though.

I unironically want a necromancer game akin to kabutos role in naruto. Where you investigate and travel the world for the remains of elite warriors, heros and villains of the past.
Just not in the nuruto verse

This wasn't always the case though. It took Blizzard almost a year, year and a half to buff minions. This made the class nothing more than a very weak sorceress in the beginning. Most people who I've talked to about D2 still think the necromancer class is garbage even today since they never played it past that first year.

You don't have to kill that boss. You just have to nab the stuff in his chest.

The big problem isn't even the boss, it's getting TO the boss through all the narrow passages with the shit pathfinding AI of your skellingtons.

>cast dickass spells while your skeleton army conquers the world

I'd kill for a Mount & Blade Bannerlord mod focused on necromancy.
And then I guess I'd resurrect whoever I killed.

Mount&Blade already feels like a Necromancer power-fantasy game given how your army behaves and follows your orders through those eery animations

This is actually a bit fun till you realize how unbalanced the game is and how much the AI relies on cheats and boosts instead of more organic difficulty like diplomacy and map tactics

a proper necromancer would be too op thats why. I mean in total war warhammer the vampire counts literally have 1 general raising and controlling an entire army.

Path of Exile necro got revitalized since your minions now share with you their minion damamge/attack speed buffs. You can now cosplay psychotic necromancer ripping enemies with bare hands and raising them as your minions.

Normalfags like necromancing but only the "muh dark magic" and "dark mage/Warrior" shit. Something like a DK or warlock in WoW.

What I want is full steam Lich with barely any flesh and msotly half-broken gones raising shit and being just a rattling deathball.
