2. RPG where you play as a researcher and try to work out how to contain SCPs which start of safe but reach Keter by the end game.

Dwarf Fortress style game where you play as the AI of a facility and you gotta contain breaches, direct researchers away from loose skips, direct security into areas that need to be contained/removed of D-bois, turn on and off automatic defense systems like turrets and make sure they don't make researchers into swiss cheese, make sure skips don't fuck up your generators, make sure D-bois don't nuke your shit, etc.

1) Many anomalies have elaborate sets of conditions you need to meet to keep them from going apeshit - there's one where Repression is the most likely to succeed interaction, but if you do it too much it snaps and eats your guy, for example. I think there's one that kills anyone with less than 2 but more that 3 levels in one of the stats.
2) When the anomalies first come in you know jack shit about them at all. When you pick which one you want you don't even get a name, just a number and a pseudo-poetic sentence.
3) Once you understand an anomaly fully you can continue to interact with it to get gear from it with all different stats and uses.

All that said, while each individually are interesting features, combined (along with the shitty translation) can easily create a frustrating experience where you go into experimenting with something completely blind, happen to do the exact thing to not do and set it off, and not have the gear to do anything about it. I feel like they intended for you to fuck up, start again, and over time learn all the different monsters, but I really feel like it defeats the purpose when I can go "Oh yeah that radio signal man I'm not picking that one fuck that."

Currently on like day 11 barely managing to hold on. I've got a pair of psychic shoes constantly mind controlling my workers trying to get them to go on an axe murder spree, a giant psychopath and dog monster that are constantly escaping confinement, and also these stupid clown things keep keep teleporting in and setting everything lose. On the plus side I have this button that will kill all my dudes then crash the game if I ever so much as click on it's unit, which is actually OP as fuck because it lets me reset the whole day while still "remembering" everything I learned.

Just picked it up and really enjoying it. The way all the different features of the monsters are programmed is very cool and all the effects they have are interesting. Knowing what things do is a bit OP, but even once you know that actually managing them can still be a nightmare. For instance you could have a thing that makes your dudes go insane randomly, but you might know that you just need to click them repeatedly to bring them back under your control. However when you're also dealing with a space slug infestation, half the hallways being filled with evil static, 3 giant monsters on a rampage, and you're desperately trying to talk to jesus skull as fast as possible to finish the day off it can be hard to balance everything you need to do.

My biggest frustration right now though is I can't keep up a good enough income stream to afford to feed a D class to my iron maiden of happiness and free energy though, so I'd say it's a fairly accurate experience.

I thought it was because not knowing all the details makes it even scarier. You know, fear of the unknown. Like, you know that Procedure 110-Montauk is something REALLY horrible, but not knowing what it exactly entails makes it even worse, your imagination runs wild. If they just said that Procedure 110-Montauk consists of beating and raping the shit out of 231-7, it'd be horrible, but it wouldn't be horrifying, because all the suspense and mystery would be gone.

But the really fucked up part is knowing that whatever 110-Montauk is, it's STILL the most humane method of doing whatever needs to be done to 231-7 the Ethics Commitee could come up with.

Yeah. Jesus Skull kinda makes the game really boring early on because he's actually a massive bro and wants to help you out so he doesn't do any bad things.

The game gets fun later when you start getting really weird effects and have to deal with massive fucking containment breaches, often by using some effect of another SCP. If you haven't reached the point where the only way you had to stop a containment breach is to lure a creature you can't kill next to another strong creature, then quickly go in and fuck up that creature's testing to it breaks out and they fight to the death while you try and complete the day with as few casualties as possible you aren't far enough in yet.

That is yeah, definitely a retarded way to put it, but the concept itself is fucking horrifying. Tying it to atoms is just a weird way of applying some sort of science or explanation to a concept that could still ultimately be true, because at the end of the day, none of us know what's waiting for us after death. Even the atheists who are certain death is just cessation of consciousness are ultimately selling the same close mindedness theists practice, by just using the evidence scientists have proposed to assume a particular belief. It's being aware of this mystery that gives this SCP real strength.

You can't say it's not a possibility without committing to some willful form of what would always be an assumption not entirely based on definite truths. The afterlife could be nothing, it could be consciousness in the void, it could be God after all and he just pulled a sneaky on us to test our faith by creating a world that physically defies what the Bible ultimately implied, or it could be our consciousness splitting across the universe and the only true sensation left being neverending pain and discomfort like this SCP states, or it could be something even nastier, like an analogue to pain and suffering that isn't really the same thing, yet can't properly describe because it'd be an entirely new concept unrecognizable to the human mind.

We just don't know, and this SCP provides a pretty fucking nasty theory. The SCP itself with everything around it and how it's presented is pretty goofy, but the core idea is terrifying to the greatest extent.
