They're fun. The first one kind of reminds me of Soul Reaver a bit. You explore until the plot hands you a new ability, then you explore some more.
It has light RPG elements, hunting, side quests, optional tombs (small ones) and upgradeable weapons.
Practically everything nets you xp in the game, from eating animal meat, to completimg a tomb, killing enemies, completing side quests, finding an artifact, looking closer at the artifact and learning somethimg new about it (rotating it in the viewer until Lara says something else) it's pretty nice.
And weapons are upgraded using salvage junk you find all over the place, then spent like cash on an upgrade at a camp fire.
Combat is mostly cover based shit, but there's stealth kills and some decent close combat options too.
No proper boss battles, but instead thw occasional hard to kill enemy, or a tough shoot out situation.

People try to generalise it as an uncharted rip off, but it's more than that.
And u charted ripped off Tomb Raider to begin with.

Thd plot is honestly rather throwaway. It's mostlu character drama driven, and there's just some generic baddies who need killing, and some magical bullshit about the island they're on. But who plays gamea for plot anyway?

There is some wasted potential in the first one, because they introduce things like giant, japanese oni ogres, but do nothing with them. I don't believe you ever fully see one, or fight one. Just see their feet, and the crypt where they store corpses and that's it.

Solod 8/10 game though. And cheap as fuck now.
