There was a time when Yea Forums used to post about the opera scene and laugh at FF8 and 9 fags. Then the ever-increasing gayness of the Kingdom Hearts games made all of them feel accepted, and they unironically think that FF9 is back in the cool club.

It looks like shit compared to other snes square games and the gameplay is a broken mess from espers being tied to stat advancement

Tactics is hard. And Lightning Returns can be challenging.

I like 7 a bit better but it did kind of ruin JRPGs going forward (like kingdom hearts). Every character looks like K-Pop men's wear fashion ad now. Style, drama, and nonsensical twists now too much the focus in JRPGs.

Six has a ton of very memorable moments, characters, and set pieces. Really astonishing what they accomplished on a SNES cartridge.

Also having the bad guy win at first felt very novel.

I never cried over that shit. A couple of Yea Forumstards complaining about easy shit, while hilarious, doesn't mean something is hard. Tactics is only hard in the context of a final fantasy game. It doesn't hold a candle to actual difficult games unless you modded it to 1.3
