No it isn't unless by dodging you mean backing off and doing the occasional backflip. God Hand requires stricter timing and the punishment for mis timing is greater, it also constantly throws tough group fights at you.

The cheesy way is to use taunts and objects to lure enemies out for 1v1 fights, the proper way is to use counter hits to initiate juggles and launch enemies into each other and get them close for group hits. On lower difficulties you can simply use a normal charged punch to initiate the juggle/launch, you can side dash around the enemy while its mid air to change the directions which you kick them in. Once you play on hard you need to start getting counter hits with the charged punch, even if you dont hold it at all it will automatically launch an enemy as high as they can go if you counter hit. Also if you want to quickly knock an enemy down do instant charged punch followed by an X kick. Its just matter of practice, good crowd control is the most important skill in GH above everything else

Technically yeah but if all you do is use back dodge, you're gonna miss out on being able to punish enemies for attacking and you can't just up dodge all day because a good amount of enemies, especially later on in the game, have attacks that will beat out up dodge so you have to have a good eye to know which dodge to use and have the reactions to do it

God hand is a shit game that does almost nothing right. It's in the same tier as shovel ware such as Imagine Party Babyz. That being said, Bloodborne & the other sick dark games (such as Hollow Knight) that are all the rage among normies with "muh hard" aren't actually that hard if you are experienced in video games. The worst thing about them is that the difficulty curve is all over the place, in the beginning they're at their hardest, once you "get" the mechanics of the game (takes a couple of hours if you're not a complete shitter at video games) they become easy as fuck, not to mention, in Bloodborne (I haven't played the other From games) you can also grind like in a jrpg so the whole thing can become a cakewalk if you're into anal fisting demonic pigs.

I unironically find Sekiro harder than God Hand so far though that might have just been controller issues. I just started sitting closer to the PS4 and as soon as I did my next try I beat Snake Eyes without healing and did the gun fort and Giraffe first go. So I don't seem to be having any trouble with deflection anymore. So I guess if that wasn't a fluke the game is suddenly about to become very easy in which case yes God Hand is harder.

I thought it was a bit harder than God Hand's normal mode at first when you're learning but yeah once you get the hang of how to play it, the game becomes easier since you're effectively doing the same thing the whole game. It certainly has absolutely nothing on God Hand's hard mode, much less KMS hard which is infinitely more challenging than anything in Sekiro including Kuro's charm + bell runs

I wannat remake God Hand as 1:1 as possible in UE4 other than the visuals and graphics but it'll probably take me several several years considering I have no game development experience along with God Hand just being extremely wonky in pretty much every aspect that it would take a shit ton of analyzation to figure what's going on in the original to replicate it in the remaster unless there's away to crack into the ancient PS2 code? It's a mix of a beat em up and counterfest, the counters are well implemented because they take things like spacing and different player vs enemy attack properties into consideration and the counters themselves demand different timing depending on enemies. It's significantly more varied and interesting than a parry system which removes almost all those elements in favor of timing. The game knows what it's going for which is why all of the moves you're talking about are default bindings, it literally shows you what types of moves you should be putting in your movelist for optimal play as soon as you enter the pause menu. It has some overpowered options and degenerate strategies but which 3D beat em up does not? That kind of thing comes with complexity I'm afraid. The bigger problem isn't that countering enemies is required for good crowd control it's that on hard it becomes the only really good way to damage enemies because they become incredibly tanky, but it's all minor flaws.
