wtf I have epilepsy now?!

No one has ever made this argument ever. It would most likely end up being boring simply because of how difficult it would be to replicate gameplay wise.

so how do you propose you code that besides just hitting 'counter' at the right time like all the other games that attempted to do that?

I remember all that bullshit about taking the pommel off the sword and throwing it at enemies.

said no one ever

sauce

Now look up an actual full contact sparring. Looks like two madmen bashing each other.

VR obviously

What game is that?

>That spin at the end
>Realistic

blade and sorcery

VR motion controls are janky and bad with zero feedback.

It'd be impossible to replicate it in a normal game. It'd only be possible in VR.

I love that the dude shishkabobs a guys head and bashed someone with it and thing you call out is a dude doing a spin move lol

Except you'd get no feedback for blocks and parries and an attempt to sync a sword to your wagglestick 1:1 would end up with "basically lightsabers"(0 weight in the blade, all in the "hilt") and therefore the combat would be very unrealistic.

Every time I see that webm it reminds me of this

Your views on VR are outdated, weapon weight and collision are things, your virtual hands don't need to always stay 1:1 with the IRL wagglestick.

>swing a weightless wand around like a sword
>your sword lags behind your real hand because otherwise it'd feel like you're swinging thin air
>immediately lose sync with it the second your swords "clash" because there's nothing to stop your swing
so realistic

-derline cheesed to death like nonrealistic combat has been cheesed to death ever since the dawn of video games

>low gravity

I let it pass because of Rule of Cool.

what did he mean by this?

Well you're never going to have a game with any semblance of realism because you can never make it work with a controller. Just don't throw your wii-mote through the screen, retard.
Also, I know this is Yea Forums but you should actually know what you're talking about before you try to talk about it.

>an attempt to sync a sword to your wagglestick 1:1 would end up with "basically lightsabers"(0 weight in the blade, all in the "hilt") and therefore the combat would be very unrealistic.
it would be perfect for fencing then

Not necessarily realistic but Blade Symphony brought to the table the idea of tactical sword play with multiple stances, blocks, and unique attacks with unique own swing patterns, which is the type of frame work that would be required to have a realistic combat system.

It was really fun the last time I played but apparently the steam reviews are bombing? It's F2P now so give it a spin if you're curious

Yeah, just desync the virtual hands and real hands, that's a great way to control things!
Ambiguous and unresponsive controls are not a good thing. Just accept that VR with motion controls is a failed meme and that the only use VR has is for vehicle simulators played with a wheel or flight stick.

>Yeah, just desync the virtual hands and real hands, that's a great way to control things!
Yes, it's great.

>when he "blocks" a forward thrust by straddling the blade straight towards his body
>the part when he blocks a swing with his fucking body and takes a year to change grip while his opponent would be sawing his ribs

Is that Moot on the left

>that guy grabing the blade of the sword like it's nothing

no thanks, I love my fingers

Sekiro has realistic combat.

>inb4 7 (You)s and every time

Good swords aren't actually sharp enough to cut you in a situation like that. The cutting action of the sword comes from the force of the blow and it sliding along the surface. If either of these are present, the sword will not cut you. Katanas and the like are the exception to this because they're made of low grade steel or even iron and would shatter or snap in two if they weren't sharp or impacted something solid with no give.

Feel like barfing. Thanks for the flashing.

>If either of these are present
*Aren't

One of the best games ever made.

The best way to have a realistic combat system is FreeFlow (AKA Bamham).

I won't make further comments on this.

He's wearing a gambeson, dipshit, and the other guy had no leverage. Swords aren't lightsabers
