The subjective opinion of whoever you're arguing with, stupid.
Given the politicized nature of the gays there will always be people who won't believe a homosexual character simply exists because the creators imagined them as such and due to that same nature they're not completely unfounded in doing so.
The fact you have to ask tells me you're probably an SJW who is looking for an excuse to destroy the conservitards epic style
If a character is gay they are gay.
If a character is explained to be gay in a tiny paragraph bio in a game without strong story or character elements it's probably tokenism.
If they reveal a character is gay six months after launch, pop champagne and throw confetti everywhere, it's probably virtue signaling.
Someone teach me how to write a haiku
This. It's almost as if they decided he was gay *after* the fact, rather than designing him to be gay from the get to. Same with Tracer.
>Given the politicized nature of the gays
What is remotely politicized about gays? It's not politics anymore than any other facet of sexuality is.
I mean sexuality is pretty political as well but with the gays moreso.
There's an open push for gay representation in media and an open pushback.
Bake the cake
basically this
S76 is my favorite hero. I thought that revealing he sucks cock would mean he would get a ton of buffs and become the flavor of the month hero. Nope, blizzard is still fellating tanks and supports. Fuck this game and fuck overwatch.
The only reason why they said he was gay was to distract people from the fact that they just hired a girl to overwatch league just because it was a girl (twist; it wasn't a girl, just somebody pretending to be one)
How was refusing service to a gay couple any different than refusing service to a black couple, the latter of which being prohibited by federal law.
>it wasn't a girl, just somebody pretending to be one
so all trannies?
Can we talk how ranked in this game is total shit and full of 4 dps losing comps
Uninstalled forever ago because of this but ole Jeff never addressed
funny but no. Somebody was pissed that they didn't get hired on so he pretended to be a girl and got the job that way under a different account. 24 hours later when this story broke out they said 76 was gay.
Gay tony is a good gay character.
When Kotaku is making articles about how a video game character is randomly revealed to be gay ages after its release
I feel bad for the libbies and lgbt people who are stupid enough to eat this shit up
reminder they nurfed his ult and ignoring Pharah
Look at Arcade Gannon from New Vegas. All he talk is science, medicine and how legion is doomed to fail. Only after asking him what he wants in life does he ask for a bachelor to sweep him off his feet. No "I'm gay! Boomshakalaka", just a casual wish. Like to each their own but I feel that's how you should learn about a character.
One is against the law the other isn't.
A forced gay character is a character that ever mentions they're gay at any point without prior prompting.
soldier 76? Not a forced gay character. It plays no relevance to the GAME, so it doesn't matter whether he sucks cocks in his off time.
Throw a handful of talc at bioware's character library, whatever sticks, that's a forced gay character.
In short: If a character can be summarized with "gay" being one of their traits, they're a forced gay character.
I don't care I just want more porn
why aren't they both against the law?
Pharah will never be good and the devs have more or less given up on her. Look how many hitscan DPS there are. Nope, OW devs want DPS to be shit and for tanks to be GOAT because anyone can play them. If DPS were good then the shitters would get trampled by mechanical skill.
There is a bit of nuance; IIRC the baker offered to sell the couple any number of regular or generic cakes, but refused to take a commission for a to-order wedding cake. This should not be considered a violation of anti-discrimination law because it was not refusing to serve the customer, it was refusing to enter into a contract to produce a to-order item that the baker was morally opposed to making. It's bad business sense, but it generally should be held distinctive from base discrimination.
You aren't allowed by law to keep people from using your products or services based on who they are, but the law does not say you are forced to enter into a contract with a person if you are unwilling or unable to meet their needs.
Because refusing to bake a cake because you expect that they won't pay is different that not baking a cake because it goes against your religious beliefs.
even if you don't think its forced you have to agree they turned him gay for marketing and nothing more.
>the shitters would get trampled by mechanical skill.
Whats the matter, don't like losing cause somebody stalled for time on the point by hitting one button or a character killing you by hitting their "get out of jail free card" in a one on one fight?
6 months? Shit OW came out May 2016 but 76 wasn't gay until Jan 2019
Soldier 76 is gay because having a gay character will make the game more popular.
>"Solider 76 idenitfies as a gay man"
Emil from Nier is gay but you would only know if you paid attention to his character.
One developes a character subtly and the other develops fanfics.
A good example of both would be Hammerlock and Janey Springs from Borderlands.
In 2 Hammerlocks sexuality only comes up once in a side quest and it's not a important part of his character.
In TPS they keep telling you that Janey is a lesbian. Damn near ever quest that you do for her has her bring up that shes gay that it pretty much is her biggest character trait and it becomes massively annoying.
I wasn't exactly going to go hunting down the exact timetable for it; thank you for the clarification.
Because he didn't refuse them cake, he only refused to bake a cake for their gay wedding which goes against his religion. They could've bought any regular cake in there and he would've cashed the money. But they had to make a huge deal out of it because "muh oppreshion"
>This should not be considered a violation of anti-discrimination law
should? what, in your opinion?
>it was not refusing to serve the customer
yes it was. you say so directly in the next sentence.
>it was refusing to enter into a contract to produce a to-order item that the baker was morally opposed to making
so in other words discrimination and refusal of service on the basis of sexuality.
Nothing's ever forced in a well written narrative.
Soldier: 76, Tracer, etc... have no reason to be sexual because they're not characters because nothing happens in Overwatch. There fundamentally is no narrative, so any attempt at characterization is lost, and implying a "character" is or was in an offscreen relationship is null and void, regardless of orientation.
tl;dr A regular homosexual character is a character. Soldier: 76 and Overwatch's cast aren't characters, thus the attempt to slap them with ambiguous orientations that have nothing to do with characterization is abnormal.
I agree 100%, but the c haracter has nothing to do with being gay. They could literally have not said it and nothing will have changed about him. That's not the case for actual forced gay characters. Point B:Remember me. It's so fucking heavy handed with its safe space "It's okay to be gay I love munching muff" shit that it's offputting to most people, leading to the game's downfall. Go figure people aren't comfortable talking about that shit.
>"muh oppreshion"
lol imagine caring about your rights
Japanese know subtly. Americans and even Europeans have to tell you everything up front treating their audience like idiots (because most of the time they are).
Somehow the GOOJFC have gotten worse over time. Sombra fucking teleports to ANYWHERE on the map she wants when tracer only gets to TP where she was 8 seconds ago. Reaper floats away slowly, moira darts away much quicker.
But if I had to make one change it would be to add healing ramp up so tanks weren't retard strong.
>Hey can you bake me this cake depicting me fucking your wife please
>WTF DO YOU MEAN YOU WON'T DO IT DISCRIMINATION
It's the exact same thing. Doesn't even have anything to do with religion really. Now if he would have refused to give them the same service he gives everyone else, it would've been the same story. But he was willing to sell them the same cakes he sold everyone. He just wasn't willing to make a gay wedding cake.
>nothing happens in Overwatch
Exactly. They try and show us this epic story when one, the best parts of the story don't even take place in the current time and 2, they focus more on trying to get you to like the characters then building a world or story.
And which of their rights did he infringe upon by not baking them a special cake. I'll be waiting for your mental gymnastics.
>>Hey can you bake me this cake depicting me fucking your wife please
>>WTF DO YOU MEAN YOU WON'T DO IT DISCRIMINATION
they didn't ask for anything lewd or lascivious on the cake so your strawman argument is moot.
Gay marriage wasn't legalized back then and it was a wedding cake.
Supreme court ruled in the baker's' favor, ironically because the state government was accused of discrimination against his religious beliefs.
Today you can't do what he did anymore, well technically you can, but you just don't be truthful as to why you won't make the cake.
I'm sorry I must have confused you, let me try again: No private business is required by law to serve someone; they may refuse service to any customer as long as their refusal of service has legal grounds. It is illegal to refuse someone service based on federally protected characteristics such as race and sexuality.
The bakers did not refuse the couple service; they in fact offered a variety of other options and were happy to serve them in that capacity. This is not a violation of federal law. If you tell a pizza shop to write 'hail satan' in pepperoni on your pie and they refuse and you refuse to buy their pizza on the grounds that you cannot profess your love of the dark mass in sausage, they are not violating federal law for refusing to serve you in that very limited and obnoxious capacity.
Forced is when they are introduced as gay and can't shut the fuck up about it and it's their defining trait as a character. Regular is when it's just part of who they are that might come up in the natural flow of conversation or their backstory, or they happen to show a romantic interest in another character of the same sex.
This applies to real people too. A normal reasoned gay person would be "I'm a dude who works as a [occupation], graduated from [school], lives in [place], has [interests], believes in [views], likes [food], and happens to be attracted to dudes." A loathsome faggot who's an empty husk of a human being is "HI I'M A GAY GUY WHO LOVES SUCKING COCKS AND I'M PROUD OF BEING GAY AND MY INTERESTS INCLUDE BEING GAY AND GAY INTERESTS OH BY THE WAY DID I MENTION I WAS GAY?"
If your sexual orientation defines you, then you've failed as a person or a character.
>they didn't ask for anything lewd or lascivious on the cake
That doesn't matter, he PERSONALLY found it distasteful, so this argument you think you have doesn't work.
Doesn't matter what they asked for. The point is that he didn't refuse them service, he refused them a specific service which he refuses to everyone. I did take it to the extreme but it's the same principle.
JK Rowling is the queen of this.
How about not worrying about any character's sexual orientation in a fucking FPS game. That used to work fine in the past.
>Japanese know subtly.
Ha
Haha
Ahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha
>Hammerlocks sexuality only comes up once in a side quest and it's not a important part of his character
That's the opposite of good, though.
If you're going to introduce a sexual orientation, it should have some bearing, otherwise it's quite literally forced by definition.
Film I watched recently, Cold Pursuit, features two henchmen working for the main asshole, no pun intended. Yada yada yada they're in a relationship. Later on the main baddie kills one of the henchmen and causes the other to, even later on, betray him during the climax.
There you go. The relationship had a point in the narrative. Without that string of events you just have some awkward scene of two obviously not gay dudes making out.
Hammerlock's sexuality adds nothing to his character or the context. It is, to reiterate, a forced element for no other reason than to further establish that people who are rabid supporters of LGBT(Q) people can't actually rationalize that bringing it up pointlessly is the opposite of normalizing it.
Hope you learned something today, Anthony.
Bonus:Sexual orientation isn't a character trait
>he didn't refuse them service, he just refused them service
are you literally a fucking retard
Can't have that in today's woke era.
But the game itself sucks. You have people who can't out-aim a gold nova in top 500. Some guy who was hard stuck plat immediately ranked up to GM just by solo playing brig. It's a mess
We didn't start the fire. "Journalists" and gamers who can't rocket jump worth shit started it. And overwatch is only being kept alive by virtue singling.
>Misquoting people
So you have no argument then is that it?
It's not gay if balls aren't touching, which is physically impossible for those two
Game is narrative-driven and explores a character's life in intimate detail. One character is gay: Fine, whatever.
Game is a shoot bang bang with a story that doesn't really mattet and the developer says "OH BY THE WAY THIS CHARACTER THAT HAS EXISTED FOR YEARS IS GAY SO EVERYONE APPLAUD US.": Forced
"he didn't refuse them service, he refused them a specific service..."
>If you don't make me a cake that says "Abortion is Wonderful" you're denying me access to birth control
This is literally how retarded you sound.
If the current state of Yea Forums has taught me anything, it's that you can awkwardly try to retcon a character's established sexuality at the last minute of your story for no reason other than to have a gay relationship in it and there will still be people who insist that there's no such thing as a forced gay relationship.
you seem like a reasonable user. Is the baker allowed to refuse to serve a pre-designed/pre-made wedding cake or a generic wedding cake without customized options? Would that still fall under contract?
And that's perfectly legal. If I go to McDonalds tomorrow and ask for pizza they aren't legally obliged to provide me pizza even if I'm a gay black handicapped jew.
That would be an unreasonable request because McDonalds doesn't offer pizza.
But how can you tell he wasn't gay before?
I still remember Yea Forums before it got co-opted.
Yea Forums might be a bunch of pedophiles now, but at least they're being themselves and aren't afraid of saying some shit bluntly, even if I don't like it.
When the developer actively avoids confirming that a character is straight, but will go on twitter to announce that gay characters are gay and not bi.
And the baker doesn't offer gay themed cakes.
gg no re
And that baker didn't offer gay wedding cakes. They're both requesting someone to provide something special that they otherwise do not.
Those characters arent gay, so its subversive.
The difference is that it was in regard to a particular type of ceremony that his moral convictions make him opposed to. He didn't say "I don't serve faggots, get out!" and deny them service because they were gay, he simply refused to make them a gay wedding cake because he doesn't believe in gay marriage. If they had asked for a birthday cake or a new baby cake or whatever else he would have gladly made it for them.
A more apt comparison would be if a white man and a black woman walked in asking for a wedding cake and he refused because he doesn't agree with race mixing, and believe it or not that's completely legal as well, although you'd basically be committing business suicide if you did that in the current year.
they're specifically discriminating against homosexuals. your argument could just as easily be applied to a black couple on the grounds that they don't offer "black themed" wedding cakes.
But his personal religious affiliation doesn't restrict him from making cakes for black couples, it restricts him from making cakes for gay couples.
Funny how a religious constriction is okay if it's Islam but not if it's Christianity.
For me it's one that fans insist is gay despite it never being officially said as such.
That said, I prefer them written like Leon here. If they're shittily written or an excuse character (as outlined in the third reply of this very thread I'll hate them.
No they're not. They offer homosexuals the same services they offer to everyone else.
>Christianity
>Islam
get over your victim complex. both religions are abhorrent and no one is stopping you from practicing either of them but using them for literal discrimination is no longer acceptable.
when did discrimination become illegal?
im so confused
Except for the fact that trampling over someone's religious beliefs is in fact discrimination whether you think it is or not, retard.
>aw man I can't stone non believers anymore I'm being discriminated!!
this is how dumb you sound.
And yet no discrimination happened since he offers the same services to everyone that comes in, regardless of any protected status.
No, if it is a ready made product that could be reasonably purchased by anyone, he cannot under federal law refuse to sell them that because they are gay.
The distinction is 'custom cake design and catering' as a service as opposed to selling cakes as a product. It would be illegal, however, for the baker to refuse to make for them a custom cake that features no decorations or iconography that they'd find objectionable just because the client is gay.
To boil it down: The baker cannot refuse to serve a gay couple with a generic cake or a custom cake that he would offer to a non-homosexual client reasonably; he can however refuse to make for them a custom cake that has features he finds objectionable (a groom-groom topper, for example). This is most reasonably why courts ruled in the baker's favor and legal challenge would likely uphold this.
>since he offers the same services to everyone that comes in
how did he offer them the same service if he denied them the exact same service he gives to other people solely because they're faggots.
Are you REALLY conflating stoning non believers to not going against your own religious doctrine?
Keep going dude, keep making a fool out of yourself, my le epic athiest.
Religions are a protected class whether you believe it or not, or whether they want to include Christianity or not.
This persecution complex you fags seem to have is hilarious.
user, they provided the couple with everything they provide anyone else. The couple made a specific request that the cake makers didn't normally provide (such as McDonald's making pizza) and they said no. Their reasons don't matter you can't force people by law to do whatever you want if you happen to catch them on a bias
>tfw I really starting to dislike the LGBT and its members
Far from a polnigger but i understand them a little of why they hate gays and trans
It's only forced if it's brought up but not important/relevant to the plot. It's the same reason why the "Dumbledore is gay" shit feels forced cause it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the harry potter books
are there actually christfags here now? is this where we are now? christfags used to violently mocked on Yea Forums, what the FUCK happened.
No he didn't. He was happy to sell them cakes, just not that specific cake. He wouldn't have sold anyone that specific cake, regardless of sexual orientation.
It's not about what's being sold, it's about who you're selling it to. If he refused to sell it to them, but then sold it to some other dude and his wife it would be discrimination. If he doesn't sell it to anyone it's perfectly legal.
Forced: what I don’t like
Not forced: what I like
That’s all it comes down to, some people are just in denial.
>If he doesn't sell it to anyone it's perfectly legal.
but he DOES sell it to other people, hence the argument at hand.
Not even a christfag, however if mudslimes get to rape children and attack people with acid than Christians deserve to be able to live their lives without some faggot or some athiest faggot demand they do shit that's peaceful, such as not bake the cake for some pozzed queer.
Also Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
It’s pretty simply, no one would argue against the baker refusing to bake a cake with Nazi iconography. It’s not discrimination because he will refuse to bake a Nazi cake regardless of the sexual, racial, ethnic, or even political identity of the customer.
So I could order a custom wedding cake and put the topper on myself and take a photo and the baker isnt allowed to refuse, knowing i'd probably do that?
Im not familiar with the case, and may be misinformed, but I thought toppers were never discussed yet and the service was refused upfront. Then again, if its a contract, like you said, its implied itwould be customized.
I'm always paranoid of making someone mad like that. You can google and avoid religious bakers but sometimes if you're in a rural area theres not many options and you cant be sure.
Lmfao whatever MAGAtard
What constitutes a forced thread?
>Yea Forums
It amazes me how much of a trash fire the (((American))) comic industry is
When Yea Forums freaks out because of a censored nipple or a black man in a videogame, thinking that muh ebul leftists infiltrated our vidya, modern (((American))) comics are full blown SJW shizo propaganda replacing old belowed characters like Spiderman by niggers/muslims gay pansexual genserfluid buzzword females and unironically use Trump and """bigoted white man in power""' as villains frequently
And that is absolutely amazing is that these comic books appeal to no one, SJWs don't read comics, kids don't read comics anymore, and the old fans don't like them, so company loses money again and again just to repeat the process
This whole thing is legit fucked up and rerarded
No he doesn't. He doesn't sell gay wedding cakes to anyone, not just gays. If the gay couple sent their straight friends to get one the baker still would've refused. Again he was perfectly fine with selling them regular cakes. Hence, no discrimination.
>Not even a christfag, however if mudslimes get to rape children and attack people with acid than Christians deserve to be able to live their lives without some faggot or some athiest faggot demand they do shit that's peaceful, such as not bake the cake for some pozzed queer.
kek neither of them deserve to practice their ancient dogshit
Making a character gay later is simply a retcon no different from any other.
The guy makes wedding cakes. He denied a wedding cake to a pair of faggots because they're faggots. How is that not selective discrimination.
And I shouldn't have to hear about some pozzed queer crying on the news someone wouldn't guzzle his semen because they found out he had AIDS.
World sucks, fag, deal with it.
Why not?
What other people? Is there a different type of gay person?
I had a gut feeling that i already saw this thread
>unironically use Trump... as villains frequently
?
yes it does
Its a huge change in character you nonce
just like changing background or hell even the gender
>Hasn't seen the MODOK shit
OH NO NO NO, I don't even read that trash and I saw it.
He refuses to make gay wedding cakes, no matter your gender or race, it's not discrimination.
>he doesn't know
>Craig and Mullins visited Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado in July 2012 to order a wedding cake for their return celebration. Masterpiece's owner Jack Phillips, who is a Christian, declined their cake request, informing the couple that he did not create wedding cakes for marriages of gay couples owing to his Christian religious beliefs, although the couple could purchase other baked goods in the store. Craig and Mullins promptly left Masterpiece without discussing with Phillips any of the details of their wedding cake.[2]:2
He probably assumed, since they're commissioning a custom cake, that it would include something. The lawsuit followed right after with no other interaction between both parties.
Now if the gay dudes went back and said just bake us a regular wedding cake and he refused THAT would have been discrimination. Yes even if everyone knows they would've switched the top themselves.
Because he didn't deny them a wedding cake. He denied them a specific wedding cake that he denies to everyone. If they would've asked for a regular wedding cake and he said no it would've been discrimination but that's not what happened.
He's also defeated by the strong black women who needs no man who is also a new Captain America. Powerful.
oh ok. thanks user.
Really seems like they coulda gotten ez money if they asked for a generic cake, cuz I doubt that dude even knew about that distinction. But honestly, I wouldn't want my cake made by someone who doesn't support my values because they'd probably half ass it on purpose. And even if they didn't it wouldn't have genuine heart n soul.
Ty for the info user
Because you are not forced to express yourself in any way that violates your own beliefs.
He had to sell them regular cake, but they can't force him to bake a cake endorsing gay weddings.
What the absolute fuck is going on at Marvel and what is this shitty art
this is mental gymnastics semantics. he's denying service to fags and that's that.
1 successful superhero movie generates more money than any of the current ongoing comic series combined.
They do this SJW shit in their comics because they can get away with it, let the basedboi artists and writers do their virtue signaling and if they get some dumb liberal zoomers interested, great.
It's like if EA was ok with shitting out crappy indie games, it's ok because FIFA rakes in a shit ton of money.
The sexuality of overwatch characters is forced because it's not relevant. They're broad caricatures in a first person shooter. It doesn't matter either way what their sexuality is. Nobody drawing Tracer porn gives a shit that she's supposed to be a lesbian, because she's not a real character, she's just a character design.
It's just a way that Blizzard gets to posture like they're advancing "inclusivity" without actually doing anything substantial.
If I ask you to make a cake that says "gays are stupid" you are not legally bound to do it, because no one can force you to express yourself in a certain way.
This applies to the opposite situation as well.
If a character is gay but still a good character i'm fine with it.
If a character is gay just to be gay, or make an effort to show off how gay they are it's fucking annoying.
Answer me this user, is a priest obligated to marry gays? If some nazi dude goes into the store and orders a cake that says "Heil Hitler", is the baker obligated to bake that cake?
It's the exact same principle. There is no discrimination if you don't offer it to anyone.
You are not required to enter into a contract with someone under any circumstances.
The gay couple could purchase any number of premade cakes from the baker. She was legally permitted to refuse to make a custom order for them for any circumstances.
The actual reason they got slammed in court is because they engaged in a harassment campaign instead of keeping their mouths shut; getting to court and saying "These people were not refused service at our establishment. I declined to enter in a contract with them for a special order, which prompted this frivolous lawsuit. The plaintiff was given 100% access to my store's regular products and I am vindicated by their recent behavior in my decision not to cater to their event. I did not discriminate against these people. I made a personal and lawful decision to not accept their commission. "
>Tracer porn gives a shit that she's supposed to be a lesbian, because she's not a real character, she's just a character design.
that excuse can be made about every single character trait ever, user
Which law says people are entitled to be baked a cake again?
because games need stories and stories need characters and characters need subtlety (we're stuck on the last step right now)
He didn't deny them service though, just specifically a wedding cake. If they wanted a birthday cake he would've done it and this never would've been a news story.
Anyways The Supreme Court ruled in his favor and that's that.
Yup, they're dumb as shit as he would've probably refused and it would've been easy money.
Again: commissioned work is a form of expression, and you cannot be forced to express yourself in a certain way. If it goes against your beliefs, you can decline a commission.
This applies to cake as well.
If I believe communists are evil, I cannot be legally bound to bake a hammer and sickle cake; if I dislike cats I am not forced to paint one; if I hate christianity I am not bound to write a commissioned short story that praises Jesus.
Kys, bitch.
But WHY is it legal for him to deny them the service for being fags but not a black couple? that suggests sexuality is not considered a civil right, or at least not one on the level of race wouldn't it?
Legally speaking you are under no contractual obligation to the baker in a majority of cases.
The best recourse he would have at that point is to demand you omit any mention of his bakery in association with your wedding, which could be enforced as a weak defamation claim.
that's fine because their traits don't matter so what's your point
>But WHY is it legal for him to deny them the service for being fags
That never happened, get it through your dense head.
he didn't deny a cake to gays, he denied to decorate a cake with gay shit. the baker does not produce cakes with gay decorations, and he does not produce lumber. just like how the baker is not obligated to go outside cut a tree and sell you the lumber just because you made a reasonable market price offer, he does not produce cakes with gay decorations and refused the offer on that grounds.
This character is gay done right.
If you replace the word "gay" with "black" doesn't it become a violation of the civil rights act?
No it can't. Overwatch characters are action figures designed for you to play fight with in a video game. The "narrative" surrounding them is ancillary; it's a bonus, it doesn't really matter.
No, because if a black couple wanted a gay cake he wouldn't make it either, if a gay couple wanted a black cake he'd probably oblige.
See the problem isn't WHO ordered.
It's WHAT was ordered.
Fucking fags I swear.
>Fernando is gay
Is this a flaming faggot joke or is this legit
the civil rights act is a constitutional overstep, but it is unlikely to ever be overturned by a supreme court unless they want to be killed by a mob.
Nope. If a baker doesn't bake any cakes with a black groom and bride and a couple asks him for a special one with black groom and bride, he is under no legal obligation to provide it. It's the exact same shit. He can't however refuse to sell a cake with a white groom and bride to a black couple if he sells that shit to everyone else.
>i have a right to demand any baker make me a cake so long as i can pay for it
>they have no right to refuse for any reason whatsoever
hmmmm where have i heard this before?
The Supreme Court uphelds the law and constitution. As it stands, there's no federal law dictating that you can't deny someone service depending on sexuality (to the best of my knowledge). Christfags just weaseled himself through a crack in the system or a gaping hole in this case
>As it stands, there's no federal law dictating that you can't deny someone service depending on sexuality (to the best of my knowledge).
There absolutely is idiot stop falseflagging. You can't refuse someone service based on sexual orientation.
The only issue is that this is NOT what happened in the cake case.
Gay marriage wasn't legal back then when he refused to make the cake, denying it was a grey area. The state went down on him, used him as a scapegoat and then the Supreme Court had to step in and ruled in his favor, ironically for religious discrimination.
>sexuality is not considered a civil right, or at least not one on the level of race wouldn't it?
Well...yes? Not sure the point you are making here.
The people have rights.
The cake does not.
The request to make a "Gay Wedding Cake" is refused on the grounds that the baker does not make "Gay Wedding Cakes". The baker directed the couple to the products he does make.
No discrimination has occurred. The Baker is still providing the Gay couple 100% of his services. The fact is, "Gay Wedding Cakes" are not a service he provides.
The Gay Couple's rights have not been violated: They can, as homosexuals, avail themselves of the entirety of this bakery's catalog. A catalog that does not include gay themed cakes.
For your black example: If I am asked to make a "Black Power" cake, I can refuse that to a black customer, because I don't make racial supremacy cakes.
I can refuse to make cakes that represent protected classes in the United States, just as long as I refuse them to everyone and all these protected classes still receive the same service in my establishment based on their race, gender, ETC.
honestly i think i get it now. he offers a certain type of cake, lets say a standard wedding cake with a white bride and groom, and he is obligated by law to offer THAT specific cake to anyone but he is under no obligation to take special requests of any kind. i think it's still inherently discriminatory and shitty but i can see where legally he was in the clear. i still don't think it was right.
I got into Overwatch originally for the worldbuilding/lore if that means anything. If it werent for the cinematics and backstory of Reyes, Ana, and Morrison I probably woulndt have picked it up. I know a lot of people who barely play the game and prefer the multimedia elements of it (comics, shorts, character dynamics via voicelines/sprays, etc.)
Pretty simple. Their gayness is not the main trait/gimmick and not the focus of their characters (Unless the story is about homosexuality).
He doesn't act gay. You can bitch about not all gays being stereotypes but a lot of them have similar unifying qualities, even if they aren't prancing lala homo men. The go-to example for this is (early seasons) Mr. Smithers, who despite being gay and making passes at Mr. Burns is pretty much indistinguishable from everyone else... until you start to see clues, like his spotless home and collection of feminine dolls.
Meanwhile what does Soldier 76 do? He's a grizzled old war vet. His personal interests are masculine in nature, stopping a terrorist organization. His hair isn't well kept, his dress isn't dandy, he isn't overwhelmingly compassionate, he doesn't make any pass at nearby male heroes. He just doesn't do anything that provides any sort of hints at his sexuality, which I can't entirely blame him for because basically nobody in Overwatch has a personality.
>i think it's still inherently discriminatory and shitty
>i still don't think it was right.
The world ain't fair dude, suck it the fuck up, no one is entitled to SHIT, living with this mentality you have will only lead to your brood suffering
>Not sure the point you are making here.
it should be because it's innate.
The SJW shit in comics is pretty much done now, it was short-lived. The mere existence of minorities in comics isn't the same as forced diversity; the original characters are still the most prominent. Also
>((()))
Pretty much every single beloved superhero was created by a Jew.
The same protections that allow this baker to refuse to make a "gay" cake are the protections that ensure these same people aren't forced to make "Happy Reichstag day!" cakes.
He has been confirmed to be gay.
If it's a western dev then it's forced, otherwise it's a regular one.
There was nothing forcing that gay couple to go to that cake shop though.
Yea Forums was never pro-SJW. They're the most politically neutral board if anything.
Legit gay, his bio doesn't say anything but his voice lines are pretty sexually ambiguous and the devs have said so during Q&As
>posting the character people complained the most about due to how non-existent his sexuality was
No one complained about clementine because you can actually romance dudes or ladies. I roll my eyes at "its just for brownie points", but this guy literally basically can still be assumed to be straight. The jesus line was weak, and devs confirming doesnt mean shit when considering death of the author. Tired of this JK rowling shit
Autistic tumblr weirdos aren't people. Some people got into sonic the hedgehog via internet porn, that doesn't mean that sexuality is relevant to the sonic series. It means you're a retarded pervert.
Yup you got it. Not you think it's shitty and discriminatory and that's fine, you can think that. However, try to realize that these same laws are the ones that prevent jew bakers from having to bake "Heil Hitler" cakes or gay bakers from having to bake "Homosexuality is a sin" cakes.
The simple solution is to just tell the baker to go fuck himself and find someone who doesn't fundamentally disagree with you on important subjects.
I just dont think its unreasonable to find certain character traits appealing and essential to a character in a non-storyfocused game. There's probably some fighting game characters who people would be upset about if they drastically changed their personality. Plenty of waifus in the FGC
These laws exist so you cant humiliate people, like here make a cake featuring yourself shitting into your sons mouth, can’t discriminate bitch
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What clown world are you living in bud
Huh
They didn't actually need to have a sexuality in the first place.
They could have left their romantic stuff completely out(even the creepy as fuck robot fucking stuff....which was only male robots fucking girls but not the other way around which is telling) and still had a good thing going.
This was gay for queer agenda points.
Notice how the use of tracer and the outed gay characters dropped to nothing?
How tracer went from being in nearly every porn usually forced lezbo sex with smurfette or her getting plugged by futa cock to getting fucking nothing once it was revealed that she was not only gay but the one with the plastic dick in the rlationship?
That's just how things are.
They have a representative, however, the gays aren't really accepted enough and the gay agenda has been hard pushign homosex so much that even using a gay character or not coming down on them in an overtway/taking the piss out of them is seen as tacit admission of homosexuality now.
the format is like this:
5 syllabus
7 syllabus
5 syllabus
try to make it like a theme or pertain it to a certain thing or feeling
Nigga the only thing Yea Forums cares about is their underage waifus and DC/Marvel company wars.
So the one nigger tripfag that everyone sucks off isn't around and getting people banned for saying nigger?
>argument on Yea Forums actually ending with an agreement and a new understanding
what the fuck
...
Funny you mention it, You'd think Gyno-Omnics would be a rather popular design, if only for better stability and payload.
>5 syllabus
>7 syllabus
>5 syllabus
This complicates everything, i wish i could make one directly in english but i'll probably have to make one in japanese and then translate it
Thanks user
> what is freedom of religion
Wew lad, it’s not that hard to understand.
> YOUR CONVICTIONS AND BELIEF MEAN NOTHING NOW DO WHAT I SAY BECAUSE I AM A FLAMING QUEEN
Christ user, I understand you’re personally invested and have an obvious personal hate boner, but maybe consider that a religious person shouldn’t be able to make a gay baker make a religion based cake if that religion doesn’t support them either.
If we're talking the masterpiece cake shop cas, fuck those people. They full on refused services because of "muh religion" and then said they were under attack
> what 8s a protected class
That won't work. A haiku written in Japanese will not translate to the appropriate syllable count.
Haiku is simple
Write with the correct meter
Refrigerator
gay people are now uncontacted tribes in amazon rainforest?
i dont know where you live but i have the right to refuse service to anyone for no reason given
His only mistake was being truthful as to why he won't make them the cake.
It's forced if he's already fucking your butt before you even realize he exists.
And then sweet cakes is an even more egregious case
>if I have to serve gays it's oppression
Pretty sure there's two different "gay cake" incidents. One was upheld because the guy did everything legally, the other one got the book thrown at them because they harassed the couple.
him fucking all those ladies in SFM, duh
It seems you don't know the meaning of protected class, you should do research before trying to seem smart, it makes you look like a dumb asshole
He doesn't need to be bi if you don't want to either. The line that makes him flirt with Jesus is comepletely optional.
Yeah, that's the sweetcakes one, I believe both are illegal now though
Fernando would fuck anything, no gender or species can contain him.
This.
But anonymous
A restriction this giant
Is beyond my mind
they brag that they wrote them that way in any capacity
This is why everything I write is platonic boylove. If you wanna read into that, you can, but if not, don't.
Virile healthy men they want to have sex with, even the "incels", fucking female shaped and gendered robots confuses and terrifies women, the feminists, and the gay agenda.
Hell will freeze many many times over before you see the next male hero, no matter how average and loser he is, with a female shaped robot waifu/fucktoy.
They'll want the head of everyone involved for putting that in the minds of males.
Yes, which is why anyone worth their salt needs to remember to keep their fucking mouths shut.
You are not accepting new orders at this time. Wedding cakes are massive undertakings. I do not have the capacity for a special order at this time. If you want to order a standard cake, it's your business what you do with it afterwards.
Haiku thread right now?
It would not be that fruitless
Better than homos
I need to write a sexbot into my next story.
He's a massive faggot.
Period.
Any mention of homosexuality should be banned from media. إن شاء الله,
Such alluring hair
Old-school Jay was pretty cute
A shame he's older
>we get new special "rights" because I take dick in my ass
Based.
this
no i just didn’t realize that intricacies of the situation. i thought fags were being discriminated in a way other less controversial minorities might not but now i understand that the store owner isn’t obligated to make a special cake for a black couple either for instance.
sauce? that design looks familiar
>I need this character to be gay to meet a diversity quota
vs
>I felt like writing a believable gay character
Made in Abyss. It's world's best dad Bondrewd.
He is thoroughly irredeemable, and a delight to see in action.
Kung Jin is a hood example of a regular one; it's hinted at, but not explicitly said.
76 is forced because he was made gay out of nowhere to change the news cycle. It's the same thing Spacey tried to pull.
Fucking hell it took me 1 hour and 46 minutes to remember what she did
well they aren't native americans
But you just made one
So clearly you can do it
You fucking faggot
Fuck right off user
Suck my throbbing, veiny cock
You smarmy jackass.
guys, be nice right now
or our mom with yell at us
so please don't say swears
>If they reveal a character is gay six months after launch, pop champagne and throw confetti everywhere, it's probably virtue signaling.
You beautiful motherfucker, I was going to write something to this effect when I saw the thread before you up and took it.
A character who was always gay and always known to be gay is alright - admirable even, if they're written well. Soldier 76 wasn't done well, but Gibraltar from Apex Legends? That's alright. I like my big bara brawny bulldozer.
Sarcasm in text
Harder parsed Haiku form
must read it again
I don't give a heck
Just kidding, please don't tell Mom
She'll take my Xbox
I thought it was more along the lines of "oh fuck nobody gives a shit about overwatch anymore and our esports league was an expensive failure what can we do that will make people talk about overwatch?"
Apex has token minorities, but I give Respawn credit for outright admitting it. They literally say they want a diverse cast for the sake of diversity, and for that, they've built up elaborate and established backstories.
I didn't have any problem with Overwatch's characters until they pulled a Rowling to try to hide from allegations, which shows exactly what they think of their "values".
Your second line there
Only has six syllables
Please try it again
Gibraltar definitely came off as gay
Your mother you see...
During the entire long night
Cooked me a pancake
Dammit. The second line was supposed to be "Harder parsed, Haiku in form"
It was originally "Harder Parsed In Haiku Form", but it didn't roll right.
Your mom's rockin' bod
Was painted with my thick cream
You can call me Dad.
That's what virtue signalling is, user. That's why JK Rowling is constantly on Twitter announcing how "Hermione was always supposed to be gay" or "did you know Wizards had underage orgies in Hogwarts" or "Dumbledore and Berkenwald had an intensely sexual relationship." Because she's a washed-up has-been writer desperate to feel the warming rays of acceptance since a new generation is growing up without Harry Potter.
>You are not required to enter into a contract with someone under any circumstances.
Except Obama care where the federal government said I had to sign a Contract with an insurance company. I fucking hate the feds so much.
Dude, look up protected class before trying to sound smug
>A protected group or protected class is a group of people qualified for special protection by a law, policy, or similar authority. In the United States, the term is frequently used in connection with employees and employment.
just randomly changing established lore to make him a homosexual
I chuckled
Don't be too worried, the whole applecart's going over at some point.
Gosh I love poems
Haikus read flexibly
but are they the same?
The second line is only 6 syllables, moron.
FUCKK
i could have sworn it was 7
bake me a gay cake
with soldier seventy six
or you're a bigot
I have a feeling they deliberately made most of the OW characters' sexuality ambiguous so that they can say that they're gay, bi, polyamorous, asexual or whatever whenever they feel like they need to virtue signal in order to distract people from the terrible state of their shitty frankenstein MOBA/class shooter hybrid.
There is no such thing as a force gay character. It's mostly subtle homophobia.
People will often ask "Okay but why is this character gay? Does it serve the story? What is the reason for him being gay?".
You never hear those same questions for straight characters. You never hear "Okay but why is he straight? Does it serve the story?"
Truth is, there is no reason for a character to be gay, straight, bi etc because no one is what they are for a reason. People are just born into it.
Just like in fiction, no one in real life is gay or bi or straight for a reason, we just sorta are what we are.
Not until this thread
Did I learn people can't count
It's not challenging
Telling, how the few characters they made sexually established are the ones they know nobody is going to ogle.
off with your gay shit
christ almight stands by my side
holocaust for life
Conservation of detail. If your character has a sexual orientation, it should be relevant.
The reason no one asks "Why is X straight?" is because in most of those cases, these character's sexuality is not relevant to the story.
Contrast Silent Hill 2, where the protagonist is Male and has a conventional sex drive explicitly for the purpose of the themes of the story.
Assuming anyone who puts in token fags did so in a foolish way, not because they had to fill a token role, why do they always make their faggots incredibly generic soldier dudes, or shiny knight guys? It's never anyone with any kind of agenda, or goals, and they're always portrayed as some variation of big daddy brodudes who are just looking out for their teams.
What happened to faggots like Venom?
holy shit you are retarded, NO ON ASKS BECAUSE IF IT ISNT RELEVANT TO THE STORY IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU ASSUME THEM TO BE. WHAT GAME EXPLICITLY RUBS IN YOUR FACE EACH CHARACTER IS STRAIGHT IF IT ISNT RELEVANT? IS YOSHI STRAIGHT? WHAT ABOUT MASTER CHIEF? FUCK OFF WITH YOUR FALSE EQUIVALENCY RETARD
Hard cocks in male ass
Tearing insides, smeared with poop
AIDS are your reward
Of course they made the white male American character gay. Can’t have any tradional privilege in the game
Fuck blizzard, fuck sjws, and fuck jannies
user you seem mad
come and write haikus with us
its therapeutic
>There's an open push for gay representation in media and an open pushback.
Because a demographic that makes up less than 3% of the world population doesn't need to be forced into every fucking medium.
Unrelated, but I think silent hill in particular has extrodrodenary potential to make a story about a gay protagonist. Just imagine the heyday the town would have with a guy riddled with self hatred, intense repression, and deep rooted internalized homophobia.
>The reason no one asks "Why is X straight?" is because in most of those cases, these character's sexuality is not relevant to the story.
Why are people bothered by Soldier 76 then? Does him being gay affect the non existent story in Overwatch? Does it effect the gameplay? Does it effect the meta?
The reason people are bothered is because we just assume everyone is straight because most people are indeed straight.
> If your character has a sexual orientation, it should be relevant.
Shouldn't we be getting mad all the time then? I can pull up 100 random films where straight people kiss or are flirtatious and where their sexuality isn't the focus of the story. Really weird how if a character isn't straight then their sexuality MUST be the focus.
>What happened to faggots like Venom?
Venom is a gay done right. His orientation genuinely impacted the way the story and his place in it moved forwards.
So venom is gay?
Should have realized sooner
Jojo voice and all
YOUR SECOND LINE BRO
COME ON DUDE JUST CHECK IT ONCE
IT IS SO NOT HARD
Settle down there bro
The count is accurate there
You look retarded
Dude i suck at this
Using syllable counters
But they're all wrong
Q. Does their homosexuality play a part in the story, or in the gameplay mechanics?
If so, is their homosexuality literally only a vessel to push the author's politics, or could there be more than one side to issue(s) and conflict(s) surrounding it?
JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING ISNT THE FOCUS DOESNT MEAN IT ISNT RELEVANT FOR ATMOSPHERE OR DETAIL, LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GAY CHARACTER CASUALLY KISSING THEIR LOVER AS PART OF A SCENE VS JKROWLING TWEETING AT YOU THAT DUMBOEDORE IS GAY, YOU TREMENDOUS FAGGOT
what did she do
>Should have realized sooner
>6 syllables
realized is two syllables not three?
People are bothered by 76 because it was an obvious smokescreen. Blizzard was going to lose good boy points for the shitshow involving the fake girl pro, so suddenly they just shout at the top of their lungs "76 is gay!" and hope the fanbase is too busy writing slash-fic to acknowledge they were literally breaking federal laws against gender discrimination.
There's nothing wrong with having your character kiss his husband on the way out the door to "THE PLOT (TM)", but that's rarely what's done, because normalization is exactly the opposite of what activists desire: The last thing they want is being homosexual to become a boring fact of life: They want it to be exciting and special.
Again, going back to Apex: The representatives in the cast just "are" their orientation: Gibraltar doesn't bring up his boyfriend because it doesn't mean anything on the field of the Apex Championship. Overwatch was in this camp until they used 76's "status" as a PR tool.
He has a very complicated history with most of the cast, but the assassins as a whole especially, what with him being madly in love with Zato and everything.
Realized is three by my count re-ah-lized.
All gay characters are forced, gay people conintute a tiny minority of the population. If you have 5 characters and one is gay, you are already so far off the random propblitily scale that it is forced
I think I heard somewhere that soldier76 was picked less ever since the "big reveal"
You're right, they should have listed Soldier 76's sexuality in his bio on the overwatch website at launch so that no one's feelings would be hurt when they learn that their favorite character has a dick fixation
When you meet a person or coworker they don't say "Hi, I'm james, I got the big gay." If they're not in the closet or ashamed they'll make an off hand comment about an SO or ex of theirs in a casual way at some point, possibly weeks or months after you first meet them. For Overwatch, being a game largely about mercenaries and soldiers doing their job, it doesn't make sense to show it off it in the game when their sexuality is not a defining aspect of their personality, like S76. How dumb would it be if 76 had a voice line about he misses his boyfriend? Because that seems like almost the only way outside of the comics that blizz has been using to establish the more trivial aspects of character backstories. Most of the presumed to be straight characters don't have a paragraph in their bio explaining their heterosexuality in clearly spoken language.
And did Blizzard make a big deal about his sexuality? I thought it was mostly the gaming media
You can visually tell if someone's gay. If they're not designed gay then it's forced.
dtr
I'd agree with you about JK Rowling that's why I didn't mention her.
Stop moving the conversation to fit your argument.
Why doesn’t this apply to straights too.
An apology
I miscounted his haiku
I am retarded
The G's a little more to the right
>Town is populated by monstrous twunks and phallic creatures.
Not sure how well that'd be received.
If it doesn't, then it should.
There's no reasoning with faggots like you. Give you an inch you take a mile, what the fuck do you actually want? Daddy jeff to come suck your dick? Guess what when you are in a hidden minority like that coming out is always going to get a reaction, no one goes through life assuming everyone they dont know the sexuality of is gay. Not how life works sweetie.
why doesn't rowling write a new book instead of telling the world how wizards shit on the floor, despite bathrooms being prominently featured in one of the books suggesting that they were there but went unused?
Yeah well silent hill is inherently meant to be disturbing so it might accomplish that goal by intentionally alienating and disgusting straight players while reflecting fag player’s own inner fears
Soldier only became gay after the producer or something or other replaced the lead designer of the character. at least thats what heard. They made him gay just to fuck with the guy.
Japan doesn't know subtlety about homosexuality, but most characters are only made to seem gay for the "joke" of it.
Because she doesn't have any actual skill, and is happy milking her formerly 12 year old fanbase for the rest of eternity.
haikus are easy
it's a retarded poem
with syllable counts
go back and try to reread some of the books now that you're older. They read like a tweenager wrote em and that's with editing. If you can still stomach it you clearly havent read any good books or are mentally handicapped
the dawn of the sjw age has legitimately made me question if the inclusion of every non white/straight character in media is genuine creative vision or a diversity plant
>designing him to be gay
What the fuck does that mean? Do they need to plant a dick in his ass?
it suddenly occurred to me that the last time I read a harry potter book was over 15 years ago. thanks user
and that makes me so angry, i remember watching all kinds of media as a kid and all the diversity seemed so natural, magic school bus etc. truly were living the american dream. Nowadays they prob would have made one of the kids trans for inclusion.
I'd unironically vote for MODAK
youre welcome, nothing opened my eyes to the nostalgia effect like opening one after a decade and realizing what you think is great is only relative to what you have been exposed to, still have to give her credit for getting me into reading and learning english too. nithing wrong with letting kids read it, as long as they move on unlike all the adult children that cling to it like the bible
A forced homosexual character is someone completely normal and average otherwise but is later revealed as homosexual through some cheap coming out event months or years later after the original writers or concepts are no longer involved.
A regular homosexual is an abused individual that was probably raped in their childhood and has to take advantage of other men in some way through subtle means of taunting and flaunting or directly through taking advantage of or raping more vulnerable men than them. Said individuals have no sense of morality and do not have remorse for giving into insatiable lust and may pass off their lack of modesty as "character."
how do you "design someone to be gay" from the get go?
that fat guy from last of us fits the bill pretty well.
They have to be a borderline sex offender and only talk about how much cock they suck, just like real life
Homosexuality is not real.
Therefore if a character is a homosexual then you know it's forced diversity.
You do it by not giving a fuck about what the whiny bitches on Yea Forums say.
The American dream is for white people only. The US was 90+% white 50 years ago
you don't because it doesn't matter
whats it say on the statue of liberty
clean your room
Except I'm pretty sure he had a wife and they turned his child into his fuck puppet so there's that.
>Soldier 76 wasn't done well, but Gibraltar from Apex Legends? That's alright. I like my big bara brawny bulldozer.
This. Literally no one has a problem with "diverse" characters. It's when shitty sjws try to shove them in your face for virtue points that it really gets to me.
lot's of things like saying dumbledore was super gay and had a relationship with some dude in the books i don't remember, made a map of the different wizzardry schools without much thought as to who would go, wizards shit themselves and just magic it away, etc.
It says fuck off we're full. Do you know how much shit we went through when we started letting Catholics and other shit into the country. There will be a race war or the country will split. You can't flood a nation with an 80 IQ slave race and expect nothing to happen.
Didn't they also ban that one hand gesture.
not him but I think Dumbledore was retconned to be gay in a tweet?
kind of disparaging when you consider his elder? brother?cousin? role model is supposed to have shagged farm animals or something like that
the author is dead is such an essential idiom it should be taught in primary school
It does, name a game where the Devs came out and said "this character is straight." I'll wait
Go back to pol you complete cuck
They never do because sexuality and politics shouldn't be in a kid's game
why did you do it in the first place, derpbrain?
Because the left wanted more voters
Every time the borders open it's the left bringing in new meat to feed their fires
why where all the nigs slaving away in cotton fields down south then?
>Doesn't know anything about the civil war
>Doesn't know it was because the north was jealous of the south being able to have a bunch of niggers grow cash crops all year and endlessly grow
If a character has one or two lines that says he or she is gay then it is not forced an example would be Arcade Gannon
If a character needs to mention he or she is gay constantly then it is forced an example would be Janey Springs
You can't help being a nigger but you can help being a disgusting disease spreading faggot.
Well it feels pretty forced when it's announced a character is gay a mere week after the studio entered into a potentially serious scandal because a Mexican employee left their ranks due to racist and sexist remarks by a female superior, leaving him in a depressed and suicidal state.
Remember that story? Blizzard made sure you and everybody else didn't.
probably the most homosexual man in all of fiction. the power of 2 homos in one. twice the gayness in the package of one man. forged by butt lust.
>Thinking this wasn't because they're about to run out of money
>Shit, people are angry at us for [thing]. Better tell them that Overwatch has not one but TWO gay characters even though it adds nothing to our already barebones lore
This constitutes a forced fag character.
i think thats a jighly contestable interpretation of that period of history, but im sure you have researched it very well, consulting historians as well as writings of contemporarys of that time period
>Forced
>They were gay all along! oh HO
>Small parade happens and stocks go up
>Regular
>Noone even knows they were gay until Above happens
You honestly think the north killed it's own people to save some niggers?
>Introduce character that is or isn't gay, either plays a role in the characters backstory or active story
Okay
>Introduce a character, wait a few months/years, and make politically charged changes for brownie points. The lore is altered but otherwise makes no difference to the character's active story
Not okay
You'd think after Dumbledore, people would learn when it's being shoe'd in
You stupid rat kikes
Go suck on my hard peepee
Gays must go and die
ill stop when you provide evidence to the contrary
>its own people
who? the ones living thousands of miles away from them?
>some niggers
to you
>who? the ones living thousands of miles away from them?
What kind of absolute fucking retard do you have to be to think that the civil war wasn't a CIVIL war?
>Wants his pepee sucked
>Say homos must go and die
Who the fuck will suck
lmao have sex
+ he has the trope of tragic gays which people don't like. He was supposed to be a man and a woman combining into one but it didn't make sense to have a male body if there was a woman in the mix so they decided to make it 2 guys and Varus
make a muscle hunk who stutters when cute twink boys talk to him.
This
Soldier 76's faggotry was a smokescreen to get them out of shit and it worked.
> When your game is a big pile of trash that you can't balance for shit with a forced and terrible comp scene so you go for brownie points and making a guy gay
> When most people saw through it but you still have people that are going to defend you like this user
No wonder Blizzard is that successful. Mindshare is in full effect.
In a nutshell it depends on how well written and designed the character is.
>What constitutes a "forced" homosexual character?
In game: The frequency of how they mention how gay they are and how much they love being gay and demand more attention for being gay when nobody asked it at any point in-game especially when you first meet the character in-game.
Out of game: If the character's orientation wasn't important at any point and they simply made them gay because they were lazy and had no other ideas. If the orientation wasn't important it should just be left unmentioned.
>What constitutes a regular one?
In game: Two ways here. When you meet said character in-game and you have no idea that they're gay until they decide to talk more about themselves and share this information to you as an act of trust to the player. They may casually mention their spouse in conversation like it's no big deal. (e.g gay woman says "My wife and I would like to invite you to dinner tonight, you should join us." as opposed to "Hey my Wife and I would like to invite you dinner tonight. Did I mention I'm married? Yeah i'm married. TO A WOMAN. BECAUSE I'M GAY. DID YOU KNOW THAT?") Alternatively you meet said character and they are quite clearly FABULOUS to the point where you just know but they don't go in hammering the point about their gayness. Even the most flamboyant gay person doesn't generally go mentioning how gay they are 24/7 every 10 seconds(though i'm sure there may be one or two out there who do but it's not the general attitude.)
Out of game: Again depends on how well written they are in their character biography along with other details of the characters speech, physical posturing and clothing styles. One gay character might be wearing a mesh shirt and a skirt while another is in a stylish burgundy 3 piece suit.
fuck you! we're doing our best
He's a perfect example of one. The game is a online shooter where the story is little more than background noise, and the character's sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself nor does mentioning it contribute anything to it.
The character is gay only because Blizzard wants good boy points.
That and banning the okay hand sign.
I think forced is a word used by people who want to be upset over petty things. You see soldier 76 was never defined by his sexuality to begin with, his entire character is wrapped around being an old fart who has become jaded through the trails and turmoils of sticking to his moral compass as the world has gone downhill. Nothing about this has to do with being gay, being in a black ops has nothing to do with being gay anymore than it has to be with being straight.
I would say that announcing him as gay would be an obvious virtue signalling to crowds who are obsessed with shallow token examples of genderqueer characters. Yeah no one's going to believe that otherwise, but his original character has nothing to do with sexuality. It never defined him nor was part of his appeal making it less important rather he was one way or another. Especially considering OW is supposed to be this futuristic society where they're more worried about robots and LGBTQ issues.
>person that never visits Yea Forums has no idea what Yea Forums is actually like
lmao
>What is remotely politicized about gays?
I can't believe you actually asked that.
I don't know, I think the art is alright. Very clearly digitally done but the linework is passable, this is no Amazing Squirrel Girl.
probably this
Every gay character is forced.
Race and sexuality should never be points of the character. They should be incidental. It should make no difference whether the character is mexican, black, white, asian, gay, bi, or fat. You don't need to point out ANY of those things.
All characters and events are forced as they are made by humans with the intent of reinforcing a plot who's ending/conclusion is already known.
If you want to remove forced things then you have to remove fiction.
>Game is doing bad
>Everyone is annoyed by the meta
>Release a shitty fan-fiction short story that reveals NOTHING about the lore
>Except that Soldier is gay
