Hopes/Expectations/Fears for next mainline game?

Expectations: It’s going to be good and maybe 3D.
Fears: Everyone besides Kirby, Dedede, and Meta Knight don’t appear in another game for 10 years and the game’s going to be shit.

I just hope for something like Robobot - very strong "thematic" focus on something and a gimmick actually actually adds to the core gameplay, rather than a completely separate mini-game.
Also, if it's not a 3d game that completely redoes the engine keep the Dream Friends.

If 2D, keep Star Allies combat, elemental weapon abilities, and Dream Friends, but make the whole game like Heroes in Another Dimension in terms of puzzle and combat room complexity and boss difficulty.
If 3D, make babby's first Devil May Cry with on-the-fly switching between abilities.

Shimo games have insane amounts of soul with great art directions,music, and characters and while his gameplay was more basic, you have the chance to get something really unique like Kirby 64

Not a whole game per se, but a mode where you can freely swap between Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Dee, Adeleine, and Marx or Gooey. It would focus heavily on puzzles and would force you to think outside the box with different character combinations.

Challenge. I've been playing the "classic NES" one that came with Nintendo Online, and holy shit is it night and day. I don't think it's a fair game - there's input issues and Meta Knight is horseshit - but it's a much richer experience that requires me to actually think and strategize.

Some of the pause descriptions in Star Allies actually added some nice tidbits to characters. Like Taranza wishing to revive Sectonia, even if he knows his wish won't come true. Or Susie carrying on her father's company. Or Dedede wanting to clean his image and save Dreamland. It can be really nice sometimes. Not to mention the Mage Sisters' backstories.
