this is normal. avgn was never really that funny (the 'shitload of fuck diarrhea buffalo' shtick was the lamest part of it), but were reasonably amusing and very entertaining.

the reason for this is that his reviews are:
(1) actually pretty thoughtful, especially when the game truly did annoy him (the silver surfer review is the best example of this, he's actually so angry he's not cursing up a storm he's just incredibly peeved at the whole thing),
(2) briskly paced and consistently entertaining, so it's not a 35 minute boring 'video essay' bogged down in some lame minutia that noone gives a fuck about,
(3) usually packaged with some kind of other skit / story that can be hit or miss, but is at least breaking up the action

plus, idk, his silly accent and cheesy editing have a charm to it. he's a good entertainer

I love how he says he bought the game for the bright and colorful box art, and "it's a perfect item for any McDonald's enthusiast" which I guess he is??? Other gems: "This is a place you would want to visit if it were real." Him being upset they used some other pirate instead of Captain Crook for a boss, and also being upset they didn't use some other McDonald's character I had never heard of instead of a generic alien. I guess he really is a McDonald's enthusiast. Complaining about the plot for not making Ronald's character motivation consistent. I don't really see the problem with having gray hair, you can still look swavvy as fuck with gray hair. The real issue would be it never growing in the right places. My biggest fear is when strands grow in random spaced out places making you look horrifying. I'd rather dye my hair all gray/white until I have a full head of gray hair than to have random strands.
