No, more like because RE5 was a great successor to RE4 and also because it was the one to introduce co-op which attracted lots of new fans to the series. Many people who never played an RE in their lives picked up RE5 specifically for co-op.

at that point only DMC4 was on Steam, PC-cucks had no idea about the series as a whole, so they couldn't compare how much of an atrocity DmC was to the original games. If DmC came out today, ratings on Steam would be sgnificantly lower.
