Nothing personnel, granny

It's weird how she felt close to impossible when I first found her but when I came back after like just one power upgrade she was so easy and non-threatening

youtube.com/watch?v=4GpqJtc0f-s

Considering that you only have like 3 snap seeds when you fight her, that's all you can do if you die a couple times.

However, if you find yourself in a clear spot to kill a few apparitions, they die in one hit and give free spirit emblems for more shuriken spamming :)

You were still just a puppy back then.

The funniest thing is that this episode aired before naruto ever existed

Is this strat considered cheesing? It felt like it. Trivialised what would have otherwise been a tough boss.

you're encouraged to do that (countering) against enemies where regular deflects does little posture damage

I can't win against Genichiro, and I can't be bothered to grind 5 skillspoints to unlock Shadowrush, which seems to be the only way of cheesing him. Game is over for me guys.

you're really supposed to swing at her until she gets a perfect deflect on you, and then get ready to deflect back

kek
I didn't know that.

his moveset is pretty easy to read and he has tons of openings for some good hits to whittle his health down. I got the stronger deflects and overhead slash skills when I met him and he went down in 3 minutes or so

Based

Victory should be all on your mind. Do not care if it's 'cheap' or 'cheesy'. Honor is for samurai, which you are not.

Yes but the game tells you to do it.

But the episode came out in 2004, and Naruto was first made in 1997. The anime was released in 2002.

>mfw Sakura Bull of the Palace

Wasn't expecting that

Attached: 1385431082440.gif (320x240, 318K)

for some enemies you're supposed to just spam RB until you get opportunities for deflects, but this is ineffective against some enemies and you're supposed to sidestep their attacks and hit their backs. the tutorials against that immortal dude tells you this (as well as experience)

Well, it existed in japan, but South Park S8E1 aired in 2004, and naruto anime in the US for the first time in 2005

*Gets countered and killed in phase 1*
Is this what puppies honestly believe?

Ah, that makes sense

Shut the fuck up.

>The anime was released in 2002.
And it was on literally no american's radar until it started airing on Toonami in 2005

You can see him from inside the manor window.

Lady Butterfly doesn't really work as an "exam boss." Beat her in 3 tries while still playing this as a Soulsborne game. I didn't truly understand this game until Owl.

>it's another ashina spear fight
>but he has an elite with him

Why do prosthetics feel so useless most of the time except for the few enemies that have glaring weaknesses against fire, poison or shurikens? It just feels like a cheese tool to me

Yes you can. Use the sugars retard.

>go on tree branch
>use stealth candy
>puppeteer sword guy

Gachin sugar, bloodmist or puppeteer ninjutsu, win

You can do both of these things. Deflect the easiest and most telegraphed attacks, otherwise dodge and continue applying pressure.

I've only done two playthroughs, but I've never lost to her. She's really easy, I might even say she's the easiest boss outside of the monkeys. Gyoubu's her only competition for that title.

don't waste points on shadowrush, focus on deflecting and counter all the reds he does

Attached: hehasnohead.jpg (900x816, 345K)

*frantically slashes with subimaru* slice to meet ya granny

100% agree with you. Only prosthetics I actually used frequently were firecrackers on hard enemies and shurikens on weak ones. Fan shield I used for demon of hate, axes I used on shield enemies, flame barrel I used on red eye enemies, the rest never got used. Even the combat arts feel unimportant to the point that I just unequipped them.

>playing the game

When is that good? Beat isshin and not really feeling like NG+

firecrackers are good to use on aggressive enemies when you need a second to sip.

i always get wrecked if I try to sip in front of emma

do the upgraded mist raven that allows you to teleport after (or during) getting hit negate the damage?

Is it possible to get the 2 prayer beads locked behind purification ending while still doing the immortal severence ending?
I just want to get all the beads in one go.

Which two Lazulite prosthetic first? Shuriken's a must I'm guessing. Torn between Sabimaru and Axe for second. I did Shura ending first like an idiot because I played blind and didn't back up my save, so I won't get the other 4 lapis lazulis until NG+3

and you think Matt and Trey knew this when they were writing the episode?

>Re-using models for common enemies
Huh, fromsoft has never done this before

I'm going for the lapis flame because it says it damages spirits.

Hopefully, this will make fighting Shichimens and Headless a joke

I legitimately had more trouble with the drunkard than lady butterfly

Just parry, bro.

I literally didn't encounter one enemy with red eyes the whole game besides the first chained ogre.

Attached: nothing personnel lady butterfly.webm (852x480, 2.95M)

I used the mountain echo to pull him out while hiding behind the flames. Getting the blood sword off him makes grabbing the seven's first pip ezpz

The most accurate depiction of a native jap's face in the game

Not him but I never even knew there was a stealth candy because I ignored all those pickups and I legitimately raged on that boss for how bullshit fighting both of them was in that tiny arena. Only thing in the game I got genuinely mad at. At least now I know.

lapis flame is the worst though.

Concerning Dragon Rot, should I purify it once in awhile if I am stuck at a boss? Or can I continue to try the boss until I beat him without any consequences?

>I ignored all those pickups
But the candies are the best consumables.

Yes and no. If you use it while still in the animation of getting hit even after the hit landed you can still negate the damage, but if you wait until just a moment after he resets it can still proc but you already take the damage to your bar

>Needing to cheese the boss fight when all you have to do is:
>Hit until she blocks
>Begin blocking right after she parries you
>Shuriken right as she winds up from a unavoidable string-attack for huge posture damage.
>Run away from her whenever she does her
magic bullshit if you don't have snap seeds.

>Buy game, costs even more than in most other regions
>Play a lot
>Move to other country because reasons
>Can't play it anymore and both Steam and the key seller tell me to buy it again or go fuck myself
>Internet here is kinda shit so it's going to take a while to pirate it

Attached: 1551362204701.jpg (482x596, 44K)

I just really really hate headless.
I'm at endgame and still getting my spine ripped off by that teleport grab attack.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Just do it later in the game when you have more health and easier access to snap seeds (whenever you can get to Sunken valley)

Kill the boss first before curing it.

But the purple anti apparition shield already makes them a joke

I tend to get autismo about expending consumables even though they give you shitloads, plus I much preferred just focusing on the fight and healing gourds. Divine confetti is the only stuff I used for obvious reasons.

>Or can I continue to try the boss until I beat him without any consequences?
This.
Just purify when you really want to do some sidequests. I used to alternate between progressing bosses/story then doing some sidequests.

Always? Mist Raven is by far the most useful prosthetic.

>teleport through attacks
>teleport after getting hit
>free combo on an enemy's back from the follow up attack
>final upgrade leaves an explosion that causes burn

Just leave it on until you need one of the npcs. Which you don't need when fighting a boss.

Damn you dumb.

Beat her the right way and the next couple of bosses will seem trivial.

That's not your spine

Since when are Steam games region-locked?

>Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Just fucking run (holding the dodge button, just inc case) when they disappear.
Also just take the purple umbrella. It helps a lot when you get thrown of rythm to avoid getting 2-shot.

Shuriken's are the best.

This is unironically a samurai though.
Ninja (Shinobi) literally don't give two fucks about anything. They were arsonists, terrorists, flase-flag terrorists and would deal in intelligence / counter-intelligence.

I can vouch for this, of all the prosthetics the feather never left its spot once i acquired it. Being able to reposition and recollect myself for a moment can change everything

anyone?

Literally just turn around and r1 nigga

I have no clue, this is the first time I have this issue. I've been in other countries before and everything worked fine. It's probably due to Activision being cancer as usual.

Yes.

>shield is borderline useless without kuro's charm
Welp, at least I barely used it outside of DoH fight
But that boss will be a lot harder for me now

Attached: 1521405609520.jpg (1024x1024, 91K)

It's not even a teleport, swing wildly when it disappears and you're bound to hit it. It's actually just invisible.

how exactly was that webm cheesing the boss? he kept her in a solid vulnerable pattern with just a katana, what should he have just let her go back to normal so he could beat her your way?

>they die in one hit and give free spirit emblems
Huh, I was unaware of that. They probably give more if you pop a balloon, too. Maybe I'll get to experiment with some different prosthetics when I fight her in NG+.

dumb inconsistent grab attacks and some bosses (mainly ape cunt) moving into walls making camera spaz out are really the only flaws I can think of in this excellent game.

It's just so stupid when I cleanly jump over a grab attack and get teleported into the enemy's hands regardless, and other times I fuck up the jump competely and jump like one inch above the ground and I avoid the grab

There is a second Ashina Elite guy with red eyes who can instakill you. Hit him with a flame barrel at the start, and no time else.

God, terror is such a faggot thing to exist. Auto-kills you and it usually fills up quickly. It's fucking gay that the enemies that you have to do or use otherwordly means of damaging them also inflict that damaging a status effect.

It's trivializing the fight.

upgrade it just once and you can deflect with the shield up and it completely eats posture for most enemies

Sounds like you need a VPN

It's Curse 2.0

>meet big guy monk at start of mt kogo

Dont know why, but sekiro keys are different in japan, korea, china and some other insectoid countries, so the rest are locked.

>just mopped the floor with SS Isshin

East a dick SS Isshin cock suckers
Owl is THE REAL BADASS in Sekiro and to top it off hes a DIRTY FUCKING SCUMBAG and your foster father.

>hurr durr owl 2 is hidden though

Not really considering the game has been online since release and if someone wants to see all boss battles its easily available.

Isshin phase 1 is a pushowver with no mixups and the only move you need to worry about is his Sword shockwaves that can be easily dodged if you stand still while he does it and dodge to the right after he stops gathering wind for it

Phase 2 is mikiri bait after his 7 hit combo or after hes spams his pistol at you.

Phase 3 is lighting bait with phase 2 strategy throw into the mix
Just watch out for the following:
Double shockwaves that you avoid by dodging left to right
The jumping spear slam that you can easily avoid(still randomly get hit by it even though you dodged it a few seconds ago casue FROM doesnt understand hit detection)
The AOE shockwave move that you need to runaway from and jump to avoid
Also NEVER go for more than 2 hits while fighting phase 2 and 3 of SS Isshin casue he has power armor on most of his moves and will eat your attacks and slap your shit.
After you get your 2 hits or he blcosk 2 hits back up and wait for him to throw out a jump slash or thrust to counter
NEVER TRY TO GO TOE TO TOE WITH PHASE 2 AND 3.
Genshiro and Isshin Phase 1 are weak as fuck and you can just attack them nonstop while dodging

Attached: look at this dude lol.jpg (125x118, 2K)

This but unironically.
Did everyone miss how fucking dirty of a fighter Owl is? He pulls out every cheese tactic in the book between his two fights.

So should I finish fountainhead palace first and then go to hirata estate or vice-versa?
I dont know when the final boss occurs or when the point of no return is triggered.

Can confirm about Japan, that's where I moved to.
I guess I could, but aren't all of the free ones total shit?

You're supposed to give him the red and white pinwheel and then you can recruit him to be the merchant's sidekick.

You go to give him the red and white pinwheel and he refuses it.
Click to give it to him again and he reluctantly takes it.
More fromsoft needlessly obscure shit.
This is why I have no problem reading a guide while I play.

the normal way is barely less trivial than what was in that webm, I wouldn't know how to get her into that pattern myself. She's not very difficult the normal way. Beating a boss is beating a boss. it's only a bullshit unfun cheese strat to me if you're kiting and chipping and needlessly extending the fight. Not if you rambo in and wreck their shit fast

>Hey big bro, there's this "doctor" in an insect infested dungeon wearing bloodstained clothes and surrounded by tortured souls who have been deprived of their humanity and he says he's looking for someone like yourself. You should give him a visit, see what he wants.

I beat her on my 6 try with no snap seeds.

I'm probably now 30+ on Genshiro but at least I can get to third phase consistently.

Bosses with terror dealing attacks give you plenty of time to heal the build up. And the actual apparation midbosses have more hard counters than you'll ever need.

>NEVER TRY TO GO TOE TO TOE WITH PHASE 2 AND 3.

?? what awful advice, kill yourself

You can finish the estate at any time. It gives you a specific item that you need to use after the final boss to get the purification ending.

Mt Kongo by far just because of aesthetics and atmosphere, but Ashina outskirts have the best level design really

I was only aware that the merchant needed a sidekick when I went back to talk to him. He could have told me sooner, I already did the salt thing and I spoke with him but it didn't show up.

Well I knew that it wasn't the best idea, but sometimes you have to make the plot advance even if you can presume that some fucked up thing will happen, right?

Just hug its nutsack, hit it, parry its stomps, and learn to dodge the tackle. If it runs away run after it immediately.

I know, I'm saying what I listed is essentially how the devs expected you to beat the boss effectively without resorting to some highly efficient strategy determined by beating her 10 times in a row.

Don't lock on, count your swings, dodge, double dodge, jump when red mark

>I'm at endgame and still getting my spine ripped off by that teleport grab attack.
When you see him disappear just spam attacks behind you, that will deny his grab attack.

don't listen to these retards, they get mad if you figure out any aspect beyond what they can comprehend. the same retards say not to use magic in dark souls because it's "breaking the game" even though fromsoft put it in

Outskirts was too samey IMO. Great level design, but it's easy to get lost there because of that.

You can parry the stomps?

Just make sure you get the second bell to unlock the alternate hirata estate scenario before you finish fountainhead.

Fuck I meant the return ending, not immortal severence. I have the frozen tears and everything.

yeah it looks samey because it's just some mountains and padogas or whatever, but it makes great use of verticality and side paths that no area later in the game match

Well if you ever play Souls games or Bloodborne, keep in mind that if a character looks and/or sounds obviously shady, they'll probably fuck you over or kill npc's.

Shieeeeeeeeet

Attached: we_wuz_monks_'n_shiet.jpg (1920x1080, 692K)

>run after it immediately

That's great advice if you want to get roasted by his ranged fireballs, which he throws in front of you precisely to counter immediate chasing. I know you can catch up to him quickly enough sometimes but It's not guaranteed.

you can parry fucking everything except perilous attacks

If it uses the fireballs just use your fire umbrella mate. It's free damage.

once you go black

Doesnt matter. You just need to get the specific item from the estate to get the purification ending. You can choose which ending you want after you beat the final boss.

You aren't meant to fight him toe to toe casue not only doe she have power armor THIS FUCKING GAME HAS MAJOR INPUT DELAY CAUSE FROMSOFT ARE RETARDS.
The moment he eats and attack you get hit and comboed and its stupid and annoying and FROM obviously designed him to take advantage of the input delay caseu they have designed bosses moves and attacks like that before

>DIRTY FUCKING SCUMBAG

Git gud

Lads, I can not beat the sword saint for the life of me. I held my own throughout the game but this fucker is caving my shit in. I can poop on phase 1 and 2 but his 3rd phase continues to destroy me. Any advice?

I have yet to meet somebody who isn't shady to me... Sculptor, Emma, hanbei, all those merchants, the tengu ninja and the old lady next to him, the priest at the mt kogo temple, the divine heir... Everybody here seems to be only using you either reach their goal and fuck you over, and/or transform into a boss you will have to fight later.

So, how much did I fuck up by transforming the monk guy into a guinea pig?

I want to molest this girl.

Attached: 1554286347659.jpg (709x1024, 81K)

And he doesnt even need to do that shit casue hes already a fucking beast of a fighter

So I just beat Owl in the same place I fought Genichiro. How much further do I have until I'm done the game?

I want this game to last forever.

never noticed any input delay but then again I play on PC with 144fps. it's the first fromsoft game that has felt responsive to me

>3rd phase continues to destroy me
Lightning. Reversal.
Just jump 2 seconds after the mark appears

GUYS DO I BREAK OR OBEY THE IRON CODE?

thanks man

You can't upgrade the shop to it's final level.

Not him, but I don't have any input delay...when my inputs actually register.

I have no clue why, but sometimes the game will just drop inputs for no reason. I'll try to do a dash attack and absolutely nothing will come out.

break

Obey and pay the consequences

>So, how much did I fuck up by transforming the monk guy into a guinea pig?
It's not very nice but none of the NPC questlines have much of a payoff
But Kotaro has two other outcomes and one (working for the merchant) has a really emotional conclusion. It's fine since the game has 4 endings you'll see it all eventually.

You don't want to make your dad cry, right?

You have 1 area to go and like 5 bosses if you do them all.

Sorry user, should've clarified. On isshin himself I can only Do well on his first phase. The minute he gets his spear and gun he fucks me up

Sadly not a lot, but the best is yet to come.

I hope you're using the mod to actually get 144fps and not just assuming you already have it.

In four different playthroughs, he always spotted me regardless.

You get a badass iaido technique for obeying

Learn his moveset first, try some hit'n'run, see what you can parry and what you can dodge without problem
The true fight begin after that, you have to chase him down every time he backsteps and punish him in P2

I used the delayed mountain whistle to lure him out of sight while I was hidden, didn't use the candies at all
You're not good at this ninja stuff huh

Drop on the ledge on the left, lock on the minion, use whistle, profit

Never had a problem
Always went for the samurai instead of the boss though, he is good at tanking

>about to perfect him on my first try
>for some fucking reason he just turns a full 180 and books it all the way down the corridor, around the corner, and loses aggro

I'm a simple man. I expect that if I stay outside an enemy's cone of vision, I won't get detected. Silly me.

Do enemy attacks damage your posture even if you deflect? I'm at Owl 1 in NG+ and his attacks are doing so much posture damage even if I deflect that I basically have to play like a bitch or he'll end up being able to deathblow, if this is a mechanic present throughout the whole game why is Owl the only enemy that this is an issue with?

I assumed I'd be okay with Isshin since a lot of people say Owl 2 is harder
what a load of horseshit

Ashina Castle is clearly the best.

If hes damaging you posture it means you aren't deflecting. Your timing is off.

I get the big flash and on attacks where it would throw him off balance, it's throwing him off balance, I'm not gonna call you mean words on the internet user but I do know when I'm parrying and not by now in the game, could just be a bug.

Sounds like your trying o go blow for blow with him and its not going to work becasue he has super armor on his attacks.

You need to treat phase 3 like a souls boss and bait poke and run.
You attack power should be at least 12or 13 so that is more than enugh to do enough damage to him poke wise

Exactly thts the delay.
You have to wait.

Thats where a majority of hits and mistakes come from

Pathetic. Genichiro of all bosses baka.

Wtf does anything have to do with Naruto there you retarded zoomer?

user im still in NG.
I havent gone over to NG+ yet and im sure Isshin will be an actualy threat if you have to perfect parry all of his strikes

Genichiro is the great casual filter.

If you hang off the ledge and throw a ceramic shard at one of them then you can get the one with the sword on their way back.

You're gonna find out you played the game wrong 'till now, have fun gitting gud for real

Dodgecucks are never gonna make it.

I only see one defective here, and that's you. Cheeky cunt.

What's up with that headless miniboss in the Abandoned Dungeon? Is he endgame tier? He tears my ass to pieces every time I give him a go but other bosses seem much easier in comparison.

All the apparition bosses are unfun fags that break all the rules of good game design and have absolutely garbage rewards...no beads no memories.
Thank god they're easy once you know the tricks.

It helps to have the Lilac Umbrella, Pacifying Agents and Divine Confetti before fighting any apparition boss.

Divine confetti plus pacifying agent plus an attack suger, make sure you have 2-3 in your inventory and when they wear off use them again

I know. Just give me time.

I had no idea what the tf it was sneaking around the manner, thought I was in for some kind of Daughter of the Cosmos shit was a little sad it was just a repeat.

It really is amazing how many attacks can be defeated just by circling to the side. I imagine some players just crack under pressure and spam dodge/deflect/jump all the time.

Oh i have heard about NG+ and actually being required to perfeect parry.

In NG you only need to be able to parry about 75% of the time and youll succed.

Fucking this
>Not throwing pocket sand at bosses
Who needs firecrackers lmao

The fact that owl is one of the last fights is bad game design.
He's the best skill check of the game. Better than isshin even.
Should have been some training memory at the beginning of the game. Completely optional and harsh.

This was the first attempt I did right after noticing she seemed to react really dumb to side dodge into R1. You gotta learn a few things to deal with phase 2, but still, this trivializes most of her fight.

Attached: butterfly sekiro.webm (640x360, 2.96M)

For me, it's Fountainhead. Opens on a good skill-challenging boss, then a massive, beautiful zone filled to burst with opportunities for both stealth and combat, minibosses, a big fish, lore, and then capped off with a eerily beautiful cinematic boss at the end.

I'm always so happy when From do singularly massive levels, Painted World of Ariandel had me grinning ear to ear too.

I wish there were more boss shinobi fights in general
Butterfly was lame but I thought for sure we'd be fighting the boss of the ministry shinobi after he was mentioned in flavor text

Do the memories you get from bosses do anything other than increase your attack power? Just beat the first boss and I'm not sure whether to use it or not.

Attached: 1552933109929.jpg.jpg (1366x1366, 209K)

I when to the depths after sunken valley, when I fucking turned the corner and "he" was there. That was a moment lads.

Attached: graph.png (600x463, 20K)

A shinobi would understand the difference between honor and victory.

No. Use it and get it gives you some lore. That's all its used for.

Was that bull way easier for anyone else than the first one. I one shot the 2nd bull but the first bull seemed harder in general

I keep going back to the umbrella regardless of what else I find. It's just too efficient and can eat full boss combos so it builds up counter damage. Obliterates most humanoids and you can upgrade for fire/dark resist too.

Yeah, I was shocked how fast it went down

Use it

I can't beat fucking NG+3 Bell Demon No kuro's Charm Sword Saint Isshin. He kills me in one hit, two if I'm lucky, and if I miss a parry he breaks my guard.
Even Genichiro's giving me trouble with his stupid ass long combo since if I miss two perfect parries it breaks my guard and the next hit kills me.
I'm tilted as fuck.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

He was the 2nd hardest boss for me (I got shura ending)

if you firecracker its ass before the fight starts it crashes into a wall and KOs itself

What skills are actually worth taking? Are the last skills in the trees actually good? Or garbage in practice?

Go hang out in your diaper with the other fags at Ashina dojo, god I can't wait for the ministry of interior to murder all of you manbun cocksuckers

Yea Forums made me feel bad about using prayer beads

Attached: 143235346123.png (300x250, 8K)

So how do you get Isshins secret technique from Emma?
She said something about obtaining the esoteric

I want to get it before going into NG+

>be shinobi
>don't use all the tools and advantages available to you

the evasion attack in this game is so bad, the windup is awful and has barely any movement. evade into nightjar or shuriken+slash

>Sad about using the tools the game gives you

least you aren't a reddit fag and needs to cheat at the game then writing articles to justify your feelings

So should I give the big monk guy the red/white pinwheel or the white one?

>Sengoku Period Japan
>Chained ogre has blonde hair and is generally pastier than the average person in the setting
>Chained ogre is likely a white slave
>Around this time Japanese navel technology was only able to get as far as Australia
>Average Asian male is like 5'1
>Chained Ogre is actually just an average sized Australian male being held in Ashina
>His inarticulate yelling is actually him saying "OI GET ME OUTTA ERE' YA FOKING TINY SLANT-EYED CUNTS BEFORE I DROP KICK YA!"

Attached: Sekiro_chained_ogre_header_image.jpg (1400x1400, 316K)

white

That's the thing I guess, it did felt like cheating
Before I couldn't beat her on base stats, after two upgrades I beat her first try.

You can technically practice every essential skill with Hanbei, though all bosses have unique tricks that you'll have to learn. Still, building up your fundamentals is critical.

You can, with a Gatchiin. And as others have said the game gives you several other options to deal with multiple mobs. Stop being a shitter.

My sides

>Senpou winning
It looks nice and everything, but come on. There's only one fun enemy and no good bosses

bloody bogan

Attached: chained wrestler.png (1385x771, 1.63M)

>leveling up is cheating

>can tell its gonna be a while before I beat Isshin
How do you guys consistently deal with phase 1? I can parry Genichiro all day but Isshin not so much

Attached: 1539279347716.gif (512x368, 1.57M)

Red/White so you can upgrade Anayama's shop and get his Promissory Note that carries over to NG+.

thanks added this to my headcanon

Mikiri is an obvious must, Ascending/Descending Carp and Breath of Life: Light are also top-tier. Other than that, just grab whatever sounds good at the moment, because you're going to fill out most of the trees by the end of the game, anyhow. The Spirit Emblem and Emma's Medicine upgrade aren't as good as the sound, mind. Emma's Medicine in particular is a percentage-based increase to healing item potency, so it's not going to do much good until you get some vitality upgrades.
The final combat skills are trash and should be the last thing you grab. Nightjar Reversal, Ichimonji: Double and Senpou Leaping Kicks are so fucking good and they don't cost any spirit Emblems. Ichimonji: Double in particular is so broken that I feel bad using it, while the other two just make it easy to keep pressure on an enemy. Senpou Leaping Kicks is basically the Mikiri equivalent for sweeping attacks, and Nightjar Reversal lets you leap in and out of enemy range like those annoying Nightjar faggots on the rooftops of Ashina Castle.

I think it's just how fantastically nasty the whole area is. Centipede bug-men are pretty fucking rad, not to mention it's got a lot of interesting lore such as the Rejuvenating Waters.

Also, please don't tell me the Folding Screen Monkeys weren't fun.

Can you read?

They do but they can’t break it even if your posture bar is filled. Only a non-deflect block or getting hit can get your posture broken. It’s basically a normal sight to see full posture bar after I rang that bell even on first play through. Nothing feels worse than deflecting 90% of a flurry combo and get posture broken on the last hit, or worse, the 2nd to last hit due to a miss deflect

So what does Unseen Aid do?

There's a cute rice dispenser there though

Nothing if you're not trash.

>I assumed I'd be okay with Isshin since a lot of people say Owl 2 is harder

He is harder
Bait and Poke doesnt work on Owl2 like it does on SS Isshin

it means you didn't lose anything on that death

Gets your bloodstain back.

So is giving the rice to the old woman the only thing you can do with it?
What does the old woman do after you give her enough rice

She mumbles some gibberish about how you can turn a midget into a zombie to fly a kite for you so you can get a snake heart.

Rice is a top tier clutch healing item that clinched a lot of tough fights for me on my first playthrough when I was shitty
Storywise if you give it to both the old women it sets you on a path to get one of the alternate endings

Stick to him, if you run away from him he does some attacks that are a pain in the ass to read. If you're close he will do his three hit delayed combo most of the time, parry a hit then hit him until he parries you, he will do a few things:
a) he will do his big hit from below, just parry him and keep hitting him
b) he will push you (no damage but medium posture damage) and do a thrust, mikiri counter it, if you do it too soon you will dash past him, try to squeeze a double ichimonji there.
c) he will back down and sheate his sword, if you let him be for a few seconds he will do his fast two hit cross combo thing, parry when his sword glints. If you get close to him he will hit you with his katana's hilt and do a sweep, jump kick him there.
d) he will back down and do ichimonji followed by a slash, just dodge his ichimonji and circle his slash then punish him with double ichimonji
e) he will do his fucking air slash thing, good luck dodging it because it's finnicky as fuck
f) he will walk to your right side and stab your ass, mikiri counter this.
He does a, b and c the most.

>that purple swordman guy at the start of Mibu village
And just when I thought they aren't that annoying.

Attached: 1519396528687.jpg (477x724, 189K)

The most disappointing with lapis flame is how it doesn’t fucking light the spirit on fire and give a special “burn” status. Wtf fromsoft.

>City's breaking down on a camel's back

who else here"cant play with kuros charm anymore"
perfect parry is the only way for me

Attached: 1553732559617.jpg (924x560, 154K)

Well it stuns them for a couple seconds if you hit them enough with it.

I fought isshin without ever leaving his attack range, i pushed him up against a wall and he couldn't do anything. Everything he does is counterable.

Owl's currently kicking my ass

I'm so sick of the knockback on attacks. A parry should negate any knockback. Constantly get pushed into a corner, then the shit camera they haven't worked on since DaS freaks out, and I get combo'd into oblivion.

I've found all of them to be useful, especially the monk ones that go over sweeps and don't cost any spirit emblems. The last skill in the prosthetics tree is by far the best though. It lights your sword on fire and opens enemies up with burn for ridiculous damage.

Yeah I can parry the Ashina Cross most of the time since I used Red Eyes Black Elite to practice against Isshin, it's just that rock-paper-sweep shit that fucks me up most of the time

Attached: 1546986088823.jpg (600x450, 56K)

They become a common enemy pretty soon, but for whatever reason none of them, not even the minboss variants, ever kicked my ass as hard as that guy. I think it has a lot to do with the fucked terrain.

That's the thing, if you get close he will do the sweep every time, and if you jump on his head you do more posture damage, there's no reason to ever let him do Ashina Cross, just stick to him.

how you get past serpent? I know that boi is guarding the depths.

>mfw I realized he knows how to cheese you by messing up your camera
>the greatest Shinobi technique is Souls cheesing

It's a shame that Sekiro doesn't have invasions. Much more than in Dark Souls, every player is on more or less even footing. There's much less worry about balance with regard to gear or stats.

I thought so too at first, but the game literally tells you that dodging and hitting is a good strategy before you start fighting her so
I beat this fucker by keep waiting for him to stop doing his string and poke him with a charged attack or two
That's literally adapting to the game and punishing the gaps the enemies have, if anything it's smart

Attached: 814380_20190406172740_1.png (1920x1080, 2.53M)

>beat genichiro in the tower on my first try
>finished him off by deflecting his lightning in the air
my dick has never been this hard

Attached: 1480132906274.png (417x485, 477K)

Yeah but does he know I like Castlevania?

DULY NOTED, thanks. I've been fighting this fucker too fairly
Also I found out you can parry the dragon's air slashes so you can do the same to Isshin, most of the time it'll actually push you outside the 2nd one's hitbox, I regularly see it breeze by within an inch of me.

windscribe seems less shit because it limits your data so there's that

kek
but yeah I kinda laughed when I realized he can use the same cheese method you can use on him

Attached: 98e.png (500x281, 243K)

Just remember that he will hit you with the hilt first, so parry that first before jumping the sweep.

Nothing if you are trash.

so what is the significance of Owl leading the Hirata attack.

Yeah baiting isn't a problem for me, most of my Butterfly and Genichiro fights were SLASH SLASH CLANG SLASH SLASH CLANG

Best endgame grind spots?
I want to get my talisman capacity to max.

First kill Sakura Bull, then grind FWEEE nobles in Fountainhead

Fucker just jumped straight out of a lock on

I'm just tanking phase one to learn the patterns, but at least the intentional phase 2 lock-on break is manageable. My camera just getting caught on a ledge and freaking the fuck out so he gets an infinite combo on me is fucking ridiculous.

He's a dick

Betrayed the lord whom he entrusted to Sekiro for protection and by extension betrayed Sekiro.

Just to show he's an evil, POS, I guess. I wish they would have done a double turn, where you find out Emma/Isshin/Gen are up to something and your father was good all along. But no. He's just a backstabing asshole for no reason.

Get back to me if you learn his phase 2 moveset because right now I'm doing a No Kuro's Charm + Bell Demon NG+ run and he kills me in two hits, can't even learn his shit. I think his spear combo is 5 hits?

>mibu above sunken valley

Attached: Screen+Shot+2018-11-19+at+6.45.59+PM.png (444x698, 509K)

I just went back and killed the Shichimen in the abondoned dungeon and he drops a white dagger.

It seems important but you can ony use it 3 times.
Whats the point of it?

>for no reason.
He was after immortality, same as 90% of the other characters.
That's kind of the point of the game.

Ashina castle below the dojo if you left the Ogre alive. He will kill 2 red hats for you for free exp. Drop down after that and kill the other red hat around the corner outside. Then rinse and repeat.

Or else Ashina outskirts after the fire nation attacks (where the first ogre used to be), good spot to farm upgrade mats too. Just backstab everyone up the stairs and reset.

>no reason

Becoming immortal and ruling the land isn't a reason?

Fuck I remember Butterfly doing that to me

It's not important, just an optional item you can toy with.

youtube.com/watch?v=wlz9WACLBpk

I was ready for her to pop off the second I heard the shamisen.

Attached: maxresdefault (6).jpg (1280x720, 233K)

I've been watching the Wiki's how-to video to learn his phase 2 moves, I have no idea how to keep cool in that part

It's refillable after a buddha visit and pretty trash. You sacrifice half your health for 5 WHOLE spirit emblems with each use.

i cant believe From supports white supremacy

Attached: 20190407162947_1.jpg (1920x1080, 293K)

Blood Bullets but for spirit tags

>Drunkard fights 1 + 2
>Has a grapple ledge above the minibosses where you cant get hit
>throw oil can, jump down and flame tool then rope back up to safety

>Chained ogre 2.0 in ashina castle
>Stand on the other side of the door and the ogre can't fit through
>hit him from the safety of the other room

> Lone Shadow Masanaga the Spear-Bearer
>kite him back to the gate at the top of the hill
>he cannot pass through the gate but will still try to attack
>spam thrust attack to hit him from a distance until dead

>Snake Eyes Shirahagi
>stand in the wood tent building and snakeeyes gets stuck on a pole allowing for free attacks

This game is supposed to be hard? every enemy is just a cheezfest.
>a real mike shinobi doesn't kare for honorbru and knows that victory is whats important

GIT GUD WITH THIS ONE SIMPLE TRICK. GRANNIES HATE IT!

Attached: 1554416587566.png (899x866, 540K)

Both correct.

All Sunkey Valley really has going for it is the Gunfort, which is admittedly a pretty great encounter.

>not watching the episodes on winamptv
pathetic

shadowrush doesn't do shit

Corrupted monk is a black?
Mind=blow desu

It's fairly handy for bosses and situations with hard counter prosthetics where you'd rather use the extra heals to spam their weakness weapon.

>This game is supposed to be hard?

If you're a normal human being, no it isn't.

My favorite is anti air on Shichimen

Bodhisattva Valley is pure kino.

Well, it's a weak and uninteresting reason. And why would he take Sekiro in and raise him just to stab him in the back and try to kill him when he didn't need to at all?

I made the lone shadow guy fight the Ashina guys at the top of the hill.
Same with the Ogre 2. I made the ministry fight him.

Almost forgot the easiest
>Monkey boss fight stage 2, and 2 monkeys bossfight
>Run away until nigga body lunges at you
>jump over him
>hit him several times then repeat

I just came back when I was more powerful and rekt her.

>Fighting swarms of monkeys on statues
>Snek cave
>Guillotine Gorilla as the boss

Nah, it's great

Learn any last skill on any skill tree

Owl genuinely thinks of Sekiro as his son though and is proud when his son murders the shit out of him.

Going through poison shithole area before rape ape. Found a cave with the giant snake in it. How the fuck do I get past the snake and check out the building at the end of the cave?

Owl is not really mysterious hes just a random dick ass thief who does things on a whim. Also i think its implied hes the guy that Sculptor trained with.

a true classic

buy it pussy

Return ending is clearly dlc bait

Oh shit, forgot I had the mind control. Thanks.

>Headless is absolutely the worst enemy in the game
>Theres fucking 5 of them

why in gods name did they choose this one to re-use

but all you have to do is parry one combo from that guy and he dies instantly

Does the game force me into new game plus when I beat it? Are there any side bosses I should fight before the final boss?

The water ones are basically free kills though so it's not that bad.

Take a nap and come back, you'll probably blow him away.

How how do I beat Isshin he’s raping my ass

Expressvpn isn't that expensive

Owl 2 tests fucking everything you know about the game. When to go hard. When to dodge vs. deflect. When to just back off and leave him the fuck alone. All on a millisecond of reaction time and while he constantly mixes up his moves, AND you can't charge R1 from neutral because he fucking mikiris your ass. Then just when you think you got his pattern down he fakes you out with firecrackers. Slow moving leaping strike that you thought you had time to move back and heal for? *teleports in front of you* heh nothing personnel pup. Hey check me out, I'm totally doing an ichimonji! Haha nope TRICKED once again scrub, I'm actually fucking sweeping. Oh shit, you got my poise bar at orange and you think you have a fighting chance? Time to to teach you the price of hubris with my most devastating move camera block firey post no jutsu.

No, don't worry

but they're so easy
Pop sugar, confetti, run/jump as close as possible, attack, attack, attack, attack, maybe use some powder, kill
When he disappears he always appear behind you, so wait for him to start to appear, turn around, and attack

how did japanese art advance from that dogshit to the idealized cute girls that are far superior to real ones that we see from them today? logically, their progression does not make sense, the western world had far superior art back then, and now it has dogshit art and they have the better shit, what is going on here?

The game does not instantly start NG+, it gives you the choice to go in instantly or you can trigger it from the idol.
There is one optional boss (I think) depending on the ending you're getting

Which Isshin?

they're really easy once you figure out you can just stay behind them and all they'll do is keep turning around to begin their attack

I'm in NG+2. You don't have to perfect parry everything. You do, however, actually have to manage your posture now. As in instead of slapping R1 as fast as your arthritis allows you to, you back off every now and then and hold block to gather posture. But I mean if you're this far into the game there's no way you're not already perfecting parrying MOST things.

the Headless are just a reskin of Vendrick.

his ichimonji thing is easy to exploit

>just hit him a few times for free damage (he is locked in it once he starts)
>sidestep just before he does it
>more free damage on his butt

if you sidestep too early he'll sweep your ass though

I don't recall Vendrick ripping my soul out of my asshole.

*parries*

You can also straight up flying kung-fu kick his ass to knock him out of the post. I think the followup kicks always trigger his blocks so you don't get as much damage in, but it's a safe panic button.

>tfw Shura ending
Isshin was fairly rough all on his own. I hear Sword Saint is worse. I can't wait.

And putting it back up his own ass. Don't forget about that part.

ASS. TO. ASS.

I'm still stuck with Genichiro, I refuse to give up. His sudden arrow attacks hurts.

OP here, I'm gay btw and got the Shura ending on NG if that matters.

>tfw I will never get molested by an older ninja milf when she takes me to the misty forest to "train."
>She will never look you in the eyes and call you a puppy while she's doing it.

Attached: 1554302344358.jpg (724x1024, 128K)

Stay on him and you hit him when he goes for his bow, mad punishment. Just try being aggressive and getting the parries down, this boss taught me how to play this game and I've smashed my way through since.

What made you do that, was it a blind run? Mine was blind and I chose to break the code for no other reason than it felt like that'd lead to more content and it does.

teebeehaycth leaving the second run to be longer with more areas and shit seems smarter. Makes the game still have surprises and mysteries even on playthrough #2.

Just got to the owl fight
fuck

>butterfly herself was actually an illusion and never really there

whoa.....

HOLY SHIT I FIGURED IT OUT
ATTENTION TO EVERYONE JOBBING TO ISSHIN 2

My absolute dick

I thought so, but
>Ministry Samurai / Tokugawazamurai

The Demon of Hatred is by far the hardest boss I fucking hate this nigger so fucking much. At least with Isshin I can run away and heal unlike this fucker where the only place where you can heal is right next to his fucking feet.

Also old man Isshin is dead I think I got cucked out of fighting Owl 2.

Attached: demon_of_hatred_sekiro_wiki_guide.jpg (300x168, 19K)

People only have trouble with Butterfly because it's a mid game boss, and you've barely begun playing the game.
Seriously. What the fuck were they thinking with giving the bell so early.
Everytime I see someone try and finish Hirata it's at a point where they haven't even gone past Ogre.

Attached: 1435439734794.jpg (2560x1440, 287K)

Nigga what, I had a tougher time healing in Isshin than flamenigger.

>you will never eat her rice

Attached: 1554514767068.png (1200x1600, 448K)

>mid game boss
What? It's literally the first boss in the game and one of the easiest too.

Does anyone know if you get achievements on NG+? I played a lot of the game in offline mode so I missed the achievements on steam for a lot of bosses. If I beat them again in NG+, will I still get it? I'm worried the achievements only trigger for the first time you fight them.

Nigger just run far away and behind a rock. Flamenigger meanwhile attacks you with instagib flame, insanely hard to dodge fire, or homing fire.

Honestly I think it's because i've always been better at fighting humanoid bosses in Dark Souls.

it feels like you are supposed to complete that area when you first arrive. that being said, i have died a million times there and feel like restarting the whole game because of rot buildup

Fuck am I supposed to do in Sunken Valley? Snake boy is in front of some sort of temple but I can't grappling hook up there or he just knocks me off. There's a cowering monkey there too but idk if that's supposed to be a clue. Can't seem to displace snekko either.

Is there an actual date, I'd have assumed that at first too but it says closing days of the Sengoku period, if anything the Tokugawa Shogunate is after that. Ieyasu became shogun in 1603 but Hideyoshi and his nephew were the imperial regents in the last decade of the 16th century. It's probably just an oversight desu.

>Isshin tells you how to beat him

I wasn't hesitating when my blade cut you down like bamboo old man.

Attached: 1554133894803.png (631x710, 1003K)

You're the exact type of retard I'm talking about. You weren't supposed to finish Hirata in 1 fucking sitting the moment you got there.

Use divine confetti and you can dodge most of his attacks by moving counterclockwise and occasionally deflecting. Learn how to jump over his bullshit swipe that has is unavoidable otherwise. Get the Malcontent finger whistle and save it for the third phase, you can use it 3 times for free hits and it should bring him down to low health with divine confetti.

You need the technique earned from Folding Screen Monkeys

its from radiation

Oh I already beat him with only the Malcontent but my hatred of him still burns.

Why not?

>divine confetti
Fuck I keep forgetting about that. He's a demon so it makes sense.

Guess who’s got a big floppy priapism dick and just got to Fountainhead palace?
This guy, that’s who

Nvm figured it out. Forgot I even had that puppeteer shit since I never used it until now.

Which prosthetic upgrade lets you light your sword on fire?

Attached: 1548650896091.png (383x447, 263K)

Spam R1 to bait her counter. Parry the county. Repeat.
You, too, can beat this boss doing this. She only got the illusion into butterflies move off twice, once being the first and mandatory one, and the second didn't get to the actual butterfly part because I stayed on her after she summoned them and I beat the shit out of her and killed her before it could finish.

Sauce

Divine confetti gives you bonus damage on everything in the game, try it. Also makes attacks that enemies block still damage them.

>Here's literally the starting area
>Oh and here's an optional area that you can go to if you talked to the optional NPC that you could find

>You walk with her through the misty forest for an hour until you reach a small clearing as dawn approaches
>the ground is wet with dew, but this doesn't bother lady Butterfly as she lays down in front of you, legs spreading apart like wings
>"are you a puppy or a wolf, boy?"
>She slowly undoes her belt and slips off her trousers, like a caterpillar cocoon
>"approach me, boy, and lick like a puppy"
>She moans in pleasure as you rhythmically lap her vagina
>suddenly, the lady snaps her fingers and an illusion appears behind you...

Final skill in prosthetic tree. It doesn't last too long, but it's still useful. Better than some of the other final skills.

>optional area in the start of the game
>has an easy boss you can kill early for some extra attack power
so what is your reasoning here again?

no, that's rice

Shut up brainlet
Don't reply to me again

I see
Well could I get the source of the image without the guy censoring it since you’re so smart and helpful

God I hope there’s dlc ala darksouls incoming. From still knows how to make good ass enviroments and the golden ending is hopefully a sequel is being planned

>Slam my head against a wall against laurence: yooooooo edition.
>Give up and try my hand against Isshin.
>Get tired of getting buttfucked by a "sword" saint who felt compelled to use a spear and gun.
>Give Owl 2 a try.
At least the last three bosses in the game are the ones that have given me actual trouble and enough reason to stop playing for a few days.

Attached: 1554623323303.png (1305x693, 1.49M)

Hirata Estate is basically the Catacombs of this game

holy kek

No, it's not. It has the same weak enemies, in fact, the enemies in Hirata State are much weaker than the tengus and other regular mooks you'll find once you reach Ashina Castle after defeating Gyoubu.

Nah, there's too many useful things there, at least leading up to Juzou.

Though since Butterfly drops that sakura droplet, I suppose that does make her this game's equivalent of Pinwheel.

Yes, but you pretty much get 0 risk with the way I kept poking him and punishing his gaps

i just watched the endings on youtube, i basically did everything in the game and even had the requirements for the return ending, game was pretty good personal GOTY so far and shows what from can do with new IPs

People struggle with her because she's the first boss telling you to be aggressive and fuckin parry, same as Gen. The only people that struggle are people refusing to learn.

it's probably set right after Sekigahara during the years where the Tokugawas had to consolidate their rule and end the small pockets of resistance.

I'm maxed out on health. I'm just at the point where I have to fight them enough to get a grasp on how they fully work. Well, at least Isshin and Owl. I have no fucking clue how I'm going to kill Demon of Hatred's last phase.

I believe the intended flow was
>job to ogre
>go to Hirata
>get flame vent
>job to Hunter
>beat Ogre, gain confidence
>beat Hunter with said confidence

Nope, the only big missable one is the second owl fight, you’re locked out of that if you beat divine dragon without starting the questline

pretty stupid question, but I suppose it doesn't matter the ending? because you can either go one way and have to kill isshin and emma, or do you need to do it on multiple playthroughs?

WHITEU PIGGU

Malcontent finger whistle can cheese it, you can get 3 staggers on him with it for free damage. If you have divine confetti active you’ll bring him to low health after those.

You need to do ng+ for both unique final boss fights (Emma+Isshin or SS Isshin), needs to be on one save file so ng+ is mandatory

i dont even know which areas are depths and which are valley
that entire below ground shit has blurred together

granny creams hot butter ice cream

not sure if its because i have the skill but you can sneak.

>sneak puppeteer the elite
>stay back while they fight, sneak in the occasional double overhead
>fight the spear guy honourably with all your flasks and resurrects
>or cheese him by baiting him to the tree, mikiri countering to draw him in, then push him off the edge

don't get the prayer beads but makes the fight ez, i personally always cheese if there is a way, fight smart not hard

also cheesed the ogre by drawing him to the ledge and smacking his face while he can't touch me

Because her rewards point to being a midgame boss. The blood you get from her can't be used until after you beat Genichiro, and her kunai cost a ton of money fore early game and used for a midtier skill. Genichiro and the boss before him are also way easier/less aggressive than Butterfly.

thanks pal

If you haven’t beaten divine dragon then you can still get them, otherwise you’re fucked. Made the same mistake and had to do ng+ for it.

GODFUCKINGDAMNIT I TOOK FOREVER TO BEAT THE DRAGON BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS A TRIGGER

Please tell me I can at least get it early on NG+.

I think they just imported his head from the ending where he turns into the sculptor. The head is completely different so you would have to texture in the dragonrot manually

for the isshin fight, is there any good prosphetics to use? final boss fight I mean

You can just get the crackonly right?

Fucking soccer balls?

Using your toolkit is fine but some things really just ruins fights with how cheesy they are. I have a friend that memed back stabs on O Rin by jumping on her head, that mini boss is nothing for him. For me it'll be an iconic memory fighting an ethereal goze in a misty forest.

Cheese ruins the game for you, unless you're banging your head against the wall in frustration and having no fun at all.

Just speedrun it, there’s a skip for bull you can look up and you can also fight folding monkeys without fighting genichiro with an easy wallclip. Also do corrupted monk before guardian ape and you won’t have to fight guardian ape 2 in the cave

Madam butterfly is ez all you have to do is hit her once to stunlock her then dash behind her. Rinse and repeat until dead.

Wait until they get headhacking down.

Attached: 20190407014152_1.jpg (1920x1080, 641K)

the first time you can access hirata estate 2 is right after the owl fight. just dont forget to beat lady butterfly first

Does beating Owl 2 mean I can't side with him later? I wanted to fight Emma and Isshin to get the skill he drops.

If you actually learn her deflection patterns and fight her without sidestepping, it makes you git really gud tho, really fast.

You can’t fight owl 2 without fighting him after not siding with him, the game just ends if you side with him and fight emma + isshin

I've heard around that in this game when you lose, its your fault not the games fault. For the most part I agree yet this game has some serious bullshit. And I say this after beating guardian ape first try and enjoying it.
Combat art should not be lb+rb. I don't know whos idea this was but it leads to me using ichimonji slash when Im just trying to rb so many times. Its frustrating mostly because it only really shows up when I'm getting pissed and mashing at the controller. i get that I should play the game calmly, but a great way to take me from being frustrated to flipping out is the game misreading inputs. Or at least feeling like it is. I don't see why combat art couldn't be mapped to a separate button other than miyazaki's obsession with making EVERY sword move only use rb or lb.
I haven't seen this mentioned much but what the fuck is with this game getting me stuck on the terrain? Or the camera flipping out near walls and unfocusing the enemy? Most bosses are fine but places like corrupted monk, or that ninja boss down the forest path of the castle post ape frequently had me getting stuck or the camera randomly losing focus on the boss. Or the camera zooming up my ass preventing me from seeing whats going on. It's not like its hard or anything, but nothing is more frustrating than things out of my control messing with me. I'd rather improve by understanding the enemy, not trying to deal with a funky camera and terrain. Love jumping to dodge a boss only to fall down a pit I can't see.
Also wanted to mention fuck the ninja boss down the forest path. There's like no good place to fight him. Inside where he waits theres pillars constantly getting in the way in that tiny room, and outside theres tall grass everywhere making it hard to see.
Next time I'll just cheese by finding a backstab but fuck man.
I love the combat but too often does it make me want to just cheese the bullshit and just get thru instead of trying to actually master the gameplay.

>have to wait for NG++ to get everything

>ABSORB HIS GUNSHOTS
That's not what projected force does. Also after the gunshots, he always use spear thrust, right? Seems easier to just mikiri counter it.

Better to do that because it makes skill point farming for 100% much faster, enemies drop 3x the exp compared to ng

most of this is pretty justified arguments but I think the camera stuff is highly related to From thinking their lock on system couldn't be improved or something

Terror is unironically a shit mechanic prove me wrong.

Running instead of parrying or dodging foils a SURPRISING amount of boss attacks. And running around without locking on is probably the best way period to fight non-human bosses (and probably a few human bosses as well if you want to play safe, but breaking their poise is usually a lot faster).

Oh I need to attack the enemy? Thanks faggot I was unaware.

>first try
>die with just a little health left
>second try
>get her down to a sliver
>third try
>do jack shit
I think I'll try again tomorrow.

Can you fight Owl 2 when doing the return ending?
Hope I didn't miss that fight

Why is there a lot complaining about doing NG+?
It's true that Sekiro doesn't have build variety, but NG+ can be done in 2-3 hours and really fun. You actually see how SS Isshin tempered you into a parrying god.

Attached: 1553622255913.png (2252x1252, 593K)

Does misses YARU JA NAI KA have any special dialogue if you use her own kunai against her?

I'm also doing return and have just unlocked Owl 2, all endings (except Shura) have the same route, the point that decides what ending you'll get is what you give to the kid in the very end of the game

Only if you've started the purification ending, you don't get locked into it so don't worry

Well it didn't seem like you understood how such a simple mini boss.
I just assumed you were retarded.

Pretty much correct.
Maybe one extra half-notch in Sekiro for world because there are like, one or two sections that feel extra difficult.
And Demon's Soul isn't really THAT difficult, just occasionally obtuse. Relied overly much on it's brand new message system for some shit to make sense.

Don't feel too bad. Once you get to the end-game, even being as upgraded as you can get feels perfectly fair.

Fuck, I did miss it then.
Guess I won't be doing Shura in NG+.

Try git gud

Oh fuck bro, using attack and deflect makes fights easier, it's sort of like cheating, maybe you should only use shuriken.

I have the tier one prosthetic upgrades. Is there anything I should shoot for? Will the spinning top actually make a difference against Lady Butterfly?

>only 50% of people on steam have beaten butterfly

>implying disliking a mechanic = having difficulty with it
What's it like being a single digit iq mouthbreathing retard? I never said it was too hard. It's mechanically worthless and adds nothing meaningful to the combat system. I know these are big words but I'm sure you can work your way through it.

Not really, but gouging top makes short work of small enemies like dogs, monkeys and the like, so it's pretty gud.

No, all you need is standard shurikens to knock her down

>60% of players have beaten MY NAAAAME on PSN

Most of the tier-one upgrades don't make a huge difference.

is this true?

Why is the Owl so fucking heavy?

>just fought final boss isshin for the first time

Any tips, lads? Little secrets that you veterans know?

>Combat arts don't have their own button
>Can't select more than one or cycle through them
>Eavesdropping does, even though it could easily have been put on action
>There's two d-pad buttons for cycling items even though the game obviously doesn't want you to use them on a whim
>Even though items get two designated cycling buttons, you can only select 5 of them (i.e. the least it's ever been)
>Prosthetics only get one cycling button and you can only equip 3
>Old prosthetics stay, even though the vast majority are plain upgrades
>Same happens to skills that have upgrades, like ichimonji or prayer strikes
>Grappling could have been designated to the action button since it's contextual anyway, instead it gets its own button that does absolutely nothing 80% of the time
>Running is put on a face button, making free aiming while running impossible
>Running requires you to both hold a face button and push the left stick, when it could easily be delegated to the stick button, or just needing to hold the face button to run automatically then curve with the stick, or hell not use any button at all
>Crouching is a toggle on the stick button, despite the fact half the actions you can do will put you out of crouching, and Wolf is such a manlet it's hard to even discern if he's crouching
>Item use on the d-pad
>Free items aiming is at its worse
>Deathblows are put on the same button as normal attacks, meaning you will do one or the other, can't choose which (could have put deathblow on action too since it's purely contextual)
>No way to climb TINY FUCKING SLOPES have to jump over them even if it fucks your stealth
>The camera Oh My God
>Reset camera and lock-on put on the same button
>Locking on sets the camera on the enemy, meaning you can move the camera at all
>This makes the camera just unlock whenever the enemy does a very sudden or when you hit a wall (what the FUCK)

Thanks Miyahackey.

Absolutely, did it yesterday. Look it up on Youtube

my tip is stop ruining the game and go learn shit for yourself

Idiot, wait for easy mode

His blade glinting before he draws it is the signal to parry immediately.
Learn the rest through intuition.

I'm talking about the tier 3 shuriken. I have enough to get the first spear upgrade, and then the shuriken. Or I could get both spear upgrades. I'm also sitting at 7-8 skill points because I'm not sure what I want to do.

you can stealth kill the second bull if you're quick enough

>almost 20% have beaten the game
Not gonna lie but that's more than I expected

The spear is underloved in general. Decent amount of utility once you figure out how to use it without getting your shit slapped.
But other than that it's all according to taste. None of the upgrades will really change how you play the game imo.

have to agree. I finished the game today and owl 2 was by far the hardest boss for me. Isshin is very easy once you figure out the 2nd phase.

Refer to my post for his first phase.
If you want to deal with Genichiro fast, remember that (double) Ichimonji interrupts his big dark energy attacks, and most of the time you can keep wailing on him after you do it.

OH JESUS CHRIST

Can't wait for all the tired canned responses about me being poor because people don't understand the worth of things. Maybe I'll get bingo this time.

Also
>having to spend 150 dollars on a controller because From is incapable of reasonable controller mapping

In my opinion, expending this much on a piece of hardware that I'm going to be using for over 10 years is well worth the money. You can disagree and keep hindering yourself, though.

You know you can configure your buttons in-game, anyway right? It doesn't matter because that's not how the devs designed it and there's other shit like revives and diving that overlaps with your other controls.

Where does it imply that? Seems more like his buddy got eaten by the Guardian Ape after stabbing him with the sword, seeing as you find the finger whistle in the ape.

just beat divine dragon and sculptor is gone, is it too late to upgrade prosthetics anymore?
I have a bunch of materials I didn't get to use.

You can still upgrade prosthetics by yourself

when you use prosthetic on owl he makes a comment about recognizing it

they both also have animal names (sculptor was orangutan)

You can still upgrade.

How is it possible to get through the end of the game while being this retarded

what are you even talking about?

On NG++ with Demon and No Charm, I think the hardest boss is actually Old Isshin.

SS Isshin has a easy phase 1 and 3, phase 2 is the hardest and that mostly boils down to posture management, since he deals a lot of damage while always making space, so it's hard to stick on him and make the posture stick.

Owl 2 has some tricky moves, but a lot of his stuff you can flowchart, and he leaves some huge openings (Like the overhead or the firecracker slash). The most threatening thing about him is probably the firecracker mixup, because he blocks your view then does either a running slash or a shadowrush you have to mikiri - it's very difficult to get around it, but that's probably the hardest part of that fight if you have his timings down. Phase 2 is also a joke.

Old Man Isshin, though. First off, Emma is a much harder intro fight than Genichiro. She's much faster, hits harder, and it takes a good deal of actual practice to parry her shit. Her mixups are a little more complex, and she shares some of Isshin's annoying combos. She builds posture quickly but is evasive, and likes to backdash a lot, following it up with an attack, which makes the fight all about perfect timing and Ichimonji.

Isshin himself has a much harder first phase than SS Isshin. The timings are off, he's fast as hell, and his combos have some weird pacing. He also punishes you extremely hard for aggression, you can't fight him like you do SS. Because he almost always dodges the first swing, and counters with an attack. It's all about chipping his vitality down while parrying everything.

Phase 2 is just a mess. He gets big AOE moves but unlike SS you have no room to dodge, and his fire wave is usually a one-shot. The openings they make aren't that big either, and you have to control space so you don't get stuck in a corner, Isshin loves the corner.

Attached: sekiro-isshin-ashina-1212x682.jpg (1212x682, 73K)

You can change your buttons on options. If you change attack to triangle, reviving after you die will also be assigned to that button.

Every fire attack he has can be avoided by just running counterclockwise or interrupted with firecrackers. I do agree that he is much more difficult than SS Isshin though.

pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=74087129

this game was fucking easy faggot. who's the real retard here?

Ah, that does make sense; he did talk about knowing one other shinobi who used it. I only tried it once on him as they didn't seem that useful, but then again I haven't really messed with the Mist Raven

>Every fire attack he has can be avoided by just running counterclockwise or interrupted with firecrackers. I do agree that he is much more difficult than SS Isshin though.
That's true, but they're also his biggest openings. And the issue is when you're fighting him, he likes to jump toward the edge of the map. If he's in a corner and does a fire attack, there's basically no way to run around it, you have to either jump or umbrella or just try and run away.

The issue isn't the attack, it's the lack of space to maneuver.

>Get all key items for the 3 endings
>Kill isshin
>copy save to the cloud
>select each ending for each trophy
easy platinum, fuck replaying this trash ass game

Owl 2 is pretty easy once you learn the hard counter to each move. It's very much a fight about memorizing each situation.

The core basics are deflect everything, run right and to his back after the shoulder charge -> gunpowder, if he does the Ichimoji hit him until the last moment then dodge and hit his ass, otherwise deal with general unblockables.

Phase 2 he goes meta and starts fighting you with the camera, but all it means is that occasionally you get a delayed punish where you run around until he respawns via spirit owl and get a free slash in. The fireball can be avoided and you now want to dash forward after the hopkick to dodge the shuriken.

>Playing for trophies
Pathetic.

>get to Isshin phase 3
>does lightning once (ONCE) at the beginning of the fight
>goes back to the spear fuckery no one can predict while shooting me the second I tap heal
Dude fuck you

I agree user. Good to know I'm not alone in thinking this games problems are not that "it's too hard waahh" but rather how annoying and clunky it can be with shitty terrain/camera/input problems.
This game is miyazaki trying to mix dark souls with other stylish action games (the wall kick jump is straight out of DMC) which works great but is held back by the souls engine. It's like he knows his games are annoying, which is why this game has fixes like buying the rechargable poison/fear/burn gourds to fix running out of the consumables, and the hold x button to suck up items from miles away, but he couldn't fix everything.
