Drop any expectations you have from what you experienced in the first game, whether they come from the story or the gameplay. It's not on the same level and you'll be better off for it.

What's the best way to grind legendary cores?

Pay attention to the tips it gives. Game is slow the first couple of chapters. Picks up once you get a full party/3 blades to switch between. Just hang in until that point if it doesn't click at the start.

Never played the first one

If not near max level, the Vampire Bride in Uraya.
If over level 90, the Relentless Arduran in Torigoth.

What's the best way to grind affinity nodes?

-Don't kill the baby monster, feed it until it gets lvl 99.
-pouch items can have powerful effects, don't ignore them just because the inital ones suck.

Ursula's 10 minute Merc Missions, if you have her. You can bring them down to 2 with the right Blades. Otherwise just grind it out.

>any tips
Get a better game.

You can cancel your auto attacks by slightly moving the stick just after hitting your adversary. In the early game it allows you to charge your arts way faster and speed up the combat
In your drivers affinity charts, go look for the nodes that let you cancel art into another art. This is extremely important in order to charge your special jauge faster. Get this skill with every driver, then get the skills that let you begin each fight with your art assigned to B, Y or X charged
Use pouch items if you are struggling against an ennemy
If you have more questions feel free to ask

Is there any operative differences between easy and normal modes besides enemy damage and hp values? Like reduced drop rates or other shit?

This thread pops up daily. I'm starting to think it's just one user who already beat the game back in 2017 and just wants a Xenoblade 2 thread.

It's the best game in the xeno series, don't listen to the discord trannies that always spam hate for this game. Anyways, learn the break system. It goes break, topple, launch, smash. Have one character trigger a break and the rest of your team will automatically trigger the rest if it's not on CD. It's very rewarding.

Pray to God you get a good rare blade for the right party members
Play tiger tiger on easy, stage 1 since it's the best way to grind ether for one of your party member's blade
Use all the common core blades on merc missions so their affinity will go up fast

Everything relates to the combat. You get better party gauge refill rate, more special charges with each art used, stuff like that. On top of enemies having less HP and dealing less damage, of course. The only out of combat thing affected is how fast the party gauge is drained.

Nope I’m genuine about this

I don't think so
Stuff drops easily in this game, you just have to know which monster drop the accessory, aux cores, and weapon chip you want, then you farm them with all your active blades weapons equipped with a gold chip (they drop from the Vampire Bride UM in Uraya)

Yeah, don't get it

Jokes on you I preferred 2's story and gameplay

Don't worry about grinding robot parts early on since you unlock better levels later on in the game that make it easier

why are the people that hate this game so vocal about it compared to other JRPGs?

Invest into art cancelling ASAP, learn about attack cancelling ASAP, keep the beastly core for your final party member, don't roll too many Blades on Rex, salvaging is the fastest way to make money, buy Narcipear Jelly in Argentum.

It's slow even for JRPG standards and its bloated with unnecessary/poorly explained systems that make even the simplest actions feel like a chore

because muh fanbase war

Smash-spam super bosses

Just hope you roll a good rare blade

This. I dropped Xenoblade 1 before reaching Mechonis, and 2 turned out a lot better. I need direct sequels for X and 2 ASAP.

>Imagine hating on a Tetsuya Takahashi game which only had 40 people working on it because they had to fix BOTW
They don't like video games

Zenobia is core on Zeke.

>be in Chapter 8
>I like Rex and Pyra's chemistry in the game
>but I like using Mythra more in battle
>but Mythra is too mean for my tastes
Why is it like this

Get ready to quit at ch 4.

Don't skip tutorials, you can't repeat them and there is no in game explanations for some mechanics.

Learn how Blade combos work, these will be the majority of your damage until you can also perform Driver combos. Driver and Blade combos together make fusion combos, which give you buffs to your damage. Don't be afraid of opening cores when you can, don't worry too much about who has what Blade, the game doesn't require much min-max to be able to clear all content except for the challenge arena, but by that point you can get plenty of over drive protocols to make sure you have the proper blade on which driver.

The most important affinity chart upgrade to get is to make sure your arts are charged at the start of combat. Always make sure that you are upgrading accessories and putting the acessories for your blades too, as those will give you your most damage upgrades. A 30% increase of level 3 Blade combo damage can really make a lot of difference at the start. Other good ones are things like increased crit chance, crit damage, heal on crit, increased damage when greater then 90% health.

Mythra is superior in combat, you shoul never use Pyra over her, just put hunter's chemistry on Pyra. Sorry bro

Honestly not trolling here, but my biggest tip is to return it and buy a better game.

>Reddit spacing
Figures.

Mess around with the volume before you leave the Argentum guild. It's not that well-balanced with default settings.
Screenshot any tutorials. You can only access the most basic commands after it was shown.
Be prepared for the very slow chapters 2 through 4. The endings of each are great, but most of it is slow world building.
Do not give core crystals to Rex. I made that mistake.

Attached: back-to-back.jpg (1000x772, 175K)

Nope, use mythra to build gauge and use pyra for specials. Your best friends are the blade combos with light and fire involved, because both best girls get in on the action. Pyra's special damage is absolutely bonkers.

Or just use Fiora SCREW EDGE SCREW EDGE SCREW EDGE

How can people say Chapter 4 is the worst when Chapter 7 is pure cancer, in terms of combat

It's got a lot of really bad design choices. Bad menus, pointless busywork, making you go check an affinity menu to actually unlock stuff instead of just unlocking abilities as soon as you fulfill the requirements, gacha, if you want to use Poppi, you have to grind a minigame over and over again, uninteresting characters, absolutely fucking atrocious writing from what I've seen (which I admit is only a few chapters, the game defeated me at chapter 4, which is saying something as I usually finish even bad games), awful lead character, and other stuff I'm probably forgetting. It just has so many issues I'm not surprised a lot of people bitch about it. Though I see a lot more praise than hate.

How would everyone have felt if they kept the gacha mechanic for the next game, but only for common blades?
All rare blades had their own quests, and kos-mos specifically could have been a really tough late game quest with tons of prerequisites to keep it balanced.

>Do not give core crystals to Rex. I made that mistake.

Come on man, let him experience it. He's fine giving him a fair number.

I'd feel like they should have just gone with something else, like they do with every game. Bringing back Blades and Gacha, no matter how much I enjoyed them in 2, would just feel like they were worried that 3 wouldn't sell as good if it didn't feel like 2-2.

Really make sure you understand the combat tutorials. Get the affinity skills that let you start combat with your arts ready to go. Use pouch items and refresh them. Abuse the merc mission system so that you have a plethora of field skills.

Only if you've been using Pyra and Mythra as a crutch.
Bad. The gacha should never come back.
Thankfully the reception to it seems to be negative in both the west and in Japan, so hopefully they got the message.

I didn't mean the gacha I got all the gacha blades before the end of Ch 6, but quests are definitely better

DABORU SPINNING EDGY DABORU SPINNING EDGY DABORU SPINNING EDGY~

To add to this, I think another that is that there are some insane fans who will literally defend everything (except for the shitty tutorials) and obnoxious waifufags who just make things worse, causing the haters to hate even harder. And there's also a large amount of people who were disappointed in it as a sequel to the first Xenoblade.

You get enough overrides from the DLC and ingame, also it's good to have at least one good strength blade on him for parts of the story.

I'd want them to be put to death.

Give me the run down on Kos-Mos
Isn't she from Xenosaga? Does monolith own her or does Namco?

Just driver combo everything. That's the whole point: "no blade combos lel, how yu gonna do damage? You do remember how to driver combo, right?"

Attached: D3KWXF7WkAAiXJk.jpg (1000x675, 109K)

When the cat asks you to see her minge, decline her offer. It's not shaven.

>Chapter 7 is pure cancer

It's bad if you have poor navigation sense and have been relying on the compass in telling you where to go. The Blades being weakened is also only a problem if you only use Blade combos in fights and no Driver combos. It was probably one of my favorite chapters, especially on a replay when I understood the combat mechanics better. Blowing up the Shadows before they got a chance to multiply was also really satisfying.

>I think another that is that there are some insane fans who will literally defend everything (except for the shitty tutorials) and obnoxious waifufags who just make things worse
Those things aren't exactly unique to Xenoblade 2.

Namco does, but they're OK letting her in crossovers

I'm not even talking about the blades either, the area is just full of cliffs and the purple water makes it frustrating to play

The game isn't hard enough for that to matter.

Namco owns her, but all of the people that made Xenosaga work for Monolith pretty much, so they get special permission to use her.

The fuck? Kora got new art?

The gacha part is just bad, you should have gotten all cores from quests and named enemies, random blades are useless anyways.

Don't.

Random blades are necessary for field skills though (which I liked, despite them being unpolished), and they're still helpful in the early game.

>random blades are useless anyways
t. someone who's never used random blades and didn't even bother looking at their skills
they can be way better than a bunch of rares

I liked the verticalness of the area. Most of it was just going down, so you got to jump everywhere instead of climbing. The twisting and turning made it feel like a real cave system instead of the shit other studios like to pull and it was one of the best looking and sounding areas. Only issue I had with the poison bogs was when the urchin refused to follow me.

Stage 2 is better to grind because of the bonus stage.

I have a 4 crowns beast common blade with Orb Master, 23% Ether buff, and some critical and accuracy buffs
It's way better than half of the rare blade dude, especially fucking Dromarch

Don't kill the Armu

>Zeke will never cuddle with you at night
Why live

>Turters will never crawl into your bed at night
It's unfair

>random blades are useless anyways
BULL, I think I had more random blades that were worth using until I hit the super late game. But I guess I just got really lucky with them having things where orbs have a chance to get added on any level of Blade combo and not just 3.

I liked the random nature and how it influenced my play across my three different games so far. What I don't like about it though is that the uniques often don't feel that unique at all and because they are part of this system, didn't get the proper development they deserve.

I think what they probably should have done is made the randoms better then they are right now, given a better portion of the rares to quests and made the few that are random can also be gotten from named cores that drop from ultra hard enemies at a decent chance. So you have multiple ways to get them.

Get the dlc and play it on BoC. It makes boss battles much better and they don't end in 5 secs.

What’s BoC

>"Replay the main game after playing Torna, it'll make you appreciate a lot of things more!"
>all replaying it does is make me realize how horribly Torna's writing connects with XB2
Haze's death was better but that's about it

Bringer of Chaos, basically hard mode.

So is it right to make Nia the dedicated healer or am I doing it wrong

Currently 40 hours into this, just arrived at Indol for the first time and this starts playing

Absolutely kino

Yes, that's what she's there to do.

Yes, the party can all crit heal late game but that is boring anyway
Rex gets a couple great heal blades toward late game and if you get the DLC

IT'S NOT FAIR

Attached: 1541102804145.jpg (1369x708, 177K)

don’t

Just wait until you reach Theosoir youtube.com/watch?v=Gv5CifO4KtA

I meant useless as a game mechanic, you could adjust the field skills required around the unique blades, and if you really wanted you could keep the gacha but only with unique blades. I didn't use them because they're ugly and don't have interesting interactions or quests.

Nia is very good for the early to midgame but by the lategame crit healing and evasion strats rule the game.

Takahashi did all he could, but there's only so much he can get away with without Square's cooperation.

but both of those things are better in 2

You can pirate the full 100+ soundtrack pretty easily with a google search. I did it and I'm happy I did, makes road trips comfy.

Watch some youtube videos pretty early on that go into detail about the combat. It's a great system but the game does a shit job of explaining how to fully exploit it.
