A bunch of neat characters that sadly wouldn't work into a new and original work with the mysterious tone FSN had since everyone and their mothers now knows their identity right off the bat. I guess EoR had a decent idea for the time being hiding people's names until completion.

that is it there is too fate. the gacha game is just ironic weebs and people who just play for their png images. you can play the mobile game for the stories which are actually well written, they are making an anime for two of the parts.

Well you're not wrong, Part 1 of the story is empirically garbage since out of the 8-9 Story Arcs, only the last 3 are really any good. Luckily for you, said good story arcs are getting animated. Camelot is getting a movie while Babylon is getting itself an anime airing this Fall IIRC. So you're not going to be really missing much as they adapt the good story arcs since the bad ones are just really really unremarkable. There is an OVA of the introductory story arc so I guess that's worth a watch just to get an idea of what the FGO continuity is like.
Hopefully they adapt some of Part 2 in the future because that's actually when the story gets a lot more involved with enemy masters being relevant to the story again.

You can. It's just up to you to roll for the rare/desirable servants to just make the game easier and play favorites. It's the percentage in which to obtain said servants and the utter scarcity of the resources you need to roll being the infamous part of FGO's gacha system, more so than most other mobage of its kind.

A lot of the character designs are legitimately great.
The porn is good too, though 99% of it is boring vanilla with the shitty self insert.

Yes. It's possible to clear the story and side events by just using low rarity servants. It'll acutally be challenging that way as well. FGO is almost the only gacha game where units below SR are acutally usuable.

If only the rest of the show was that level of quality, but unfortunately other than that it's only worth watching if you enjoy seeing servants release their noble phantasms after spouting philosophy.
I didn't mind so much, but I can see why others hate it.

I just stopped caring for it after my distaste for it. If there's one thing Extra did right, it was the enemy servant-master dynamics and none of that actually showed itself in the anime which was particularly insulting. Didn't really care to see the epilogue they released like 6 months after its airing with Gawain and Buddha.
They also ditched the Virtual Sea aesthetic and being like one of the seven people that enjoyed that visual style, I was also a bit bummed out.

I mostly meant to say it appeals to me with how much shit they put into the backgrounds. Even from the prologue you got enormous sea monster bones, fucking nautiluses swimming around, and then each chapter's arena just switches up the environment from underwater forests into some deep sea cave grotto. It's nice for people really paying attention but the camera is always fixated on the player character and you can't feast your eyes with a really good shot of the backgrounds like the concept art is doing.
