I know, I was in the thread where that screenshot is from. I think it was actually a series of threads, trying to come up with ways to fuck with crazy libs, like pic related which I saved myself on april 30 2017, for people posing doing the V sign for victory

In fact at first only the craziest libs took the bait, wrote a few articles about it.
Then the phenomenon had a resurgence in 2018, when random everyday people doing the OK symbols were called out as white supremacists by paranoid libs, who referred to the then 1-year-old articles "proving" that it's true
even after that it mostly just remained a dumb in-joke to fuck with people
