Hopes for certain mechanics in new the pokemon game...

Hopes for certain mechanics in new the pokemon game? I personally hope they keep the HM style from LGPE for fly and surf, so much nicer than having to juggle a shit ton of HMs/having a slave

Also Pokemon general

Attached: swordshild.jpg (275x183, 15K)

free camera control and all that shit

Most importantly though, I really do want this game to feel substantially different from any other This is a Pokemon game on a console now, and I want it to feel real fresh and exciting. If it's the same old thing yet again, I'm gonna be upset. Probably not too much since that's exactly what we all expect it to be, but you know how it is with Pokemon

>tfw Nintendo and Game Freak will never ever make a huge budget fleshed out Pokemon game because people will always buy them regardless

Have the gyms be beatable in any order.
I'm fucking tired of the linear bullshit man

Removing HMs was a mistake. It completely detected players having to think about what pokemon to carry in order to cater to """""competitive"""" fags and only serves to reinforce the downfall of Pokemon to casual trends that plagues video games.

Why can't they just make another game like colliseum or Gale of darkness?
Sword shield so far looks like a glorified 3ds game. So much potential being wasted

I feel like it could support the free move camera. If there's as much background scenery as they kinda showed. Gamefreak also said that this was their biggest endeavor yet, so I remain hopeful, even with what little they've shown

>removing HMs was a mistake

Won't happen ever and you know it. I'm sure a good gamedev company could design a way for Pokemon to be nonlinear and still make progression with enemy levels work without shitty WRPG level scaling, but Game Freak is not that company.

>deterred players having to think about what pokemon
Type coverage is still fairly important, I just want to waste a move slot for some bullshit like cut. If they come back, I hope it's severely limited so there's no Gen 4 levels of HM garbage

yeah

I just really, REALLY hope that when they said that they have new things in store, they really meant it.

But it can do that and make you pick your team carefully by allowing certain pokemon to do HM moves instead of just giving you a rental Pokemon or whatever.
Forcing you to waste a move/party slot on filler bullshit HMs/HM slaves does nothing for the game at all.

>I'm fucking tired of the linear bullshit man
look at the map
lol

It would be pretty easy to scale the gym leaders mons to how many gym badges you have. It's like that in the anime. A trainer with 2 badges would face maybe a shroomish, gloom, and a leafeon where a trainer with 7 badges might face a venasaur, tropious and a leavany

Its possible in Gen 2, I always do the 7th gym before the 4th.

You know nothing about the game though. So you can't assume potential is being wasted at all.

>Pokemon general

is that way, you autistic manchild

I've seen what it is and I know what it could be. There is wasted potential here

Why the fuck are you browsing the Onions subreddit?

>onions

OH sorry, didn't realize you worked at Gamefreak. My bad

I've never played a Pokémon game. I'm not being contrarian, they just never looked like something that interested me. I do have a question though after seeing these weird double releases. What's the deal with that? Are they two separate games where you can buy one but not the other or do they bought as a package? Are they related enough to where you are expected to play both? I don't get it. I can't think of another franchise that releases two games simultaneously like that.

I just want to walk with my Pokemon again. I miss having my unown follow me back in HG/SS

Attached: Carefree Unown.gif (500x256, 784K)

I will never understand people that defend game freak
Does this not look like the bare minimum we should expect from them?
I'm just going off what we've seen so far but seriously there are better looking indie games on switch atm

Each version has a different set of Pokemon that cannot be found in the other version

Different legendaries in each, the one they slap on the box art is the one you get, as well some pokemon being exclusive to each game. Meaning you can catch X in sword and Y and shield, but you'll never see a wild Y in sword. Some change the plot around a bit like Sapphire and Ruby, or have different areas like White forest and Black City

Also forgot to mention. Different legendaries, different items, and a few minor changes

>in order to cater to """""competitive"""" fags
You have literally no fucking clue what you are talking about.

Usually about 10 or so mons are exclusive to each version. This was done back in the day to encourage trading with friends using the link cable.
Nowadays it's pretty pointless due to the global trade system but they removed from let's go games for some reason.
Sometimes there are very minimal story differences but that's literally it.

they have slight differences like version-exclusive Pokemon, but they essentially really are just the same game

The short answer as to why they do it: Money.

I think they really need to cut the shit and figure out a way to streamline IV breeding. It would de-emphasize hacked mons and make the process more rewarding instead of a ridiculous time sink

Gamefreak, the same people that will remove features and people will clap?
Love those guys

>Gamefreak also said that this was their biggest endeavor yet
lmao
This is the same company that says making switch games is hard when a ton of other major companies both Western on Japanese have praised the Switch for being easy to develop for

they should just remove IV's and toss the points into EVs

>Beatable in any order
Have fun having everything being the same difficulty to acommodate this like in BotW.

I hope they add an easy mode and let me play as LGBT.

>implying BotW is anything like pokemon
They already have set levels for gym leaders, just change which level the mons are based on how many badges you have

Pretty much. GameFreak complains that to a lot of people Pokemon is a breeding sim yet they keep this grindy feature. Just get rid of IVs and add an NPC that lets you set your Hidden Power type

See

What types do you feel like the starters will be at 3rd evolution? I wanna believe that scorbunny will not be another fire/fighting, but I highly doubt they wouldn't just take the easy route

Attached: 9alex05kdkp21.png (773x767, 718K)

I think fire/electric would be cool, like the energizer bunny.
Im hoping for water/dragon but it will probably be pure water.
Maybe a Grass/Fighting gorilla for grooky

Fire electric
Water ghost
Grass rock or grass ground

Really hoping they do my boy sobble Justice. Just make him look cool

>What's the deal with that? Are they two separate games where you can buy one but not the other or do they bought as a package?
Nope, it's old fanchised jew shit just for money. As a handheld it was a tool to get friends to trade Pokemon together, but in a world with the Internet and just modern day sociality, it's fucking pointless. There's no reason it should be still happening, it's just money pinching shit.

>Are they related enough to where you are expected to play both?
Both for completing the Pokedex, the other for money for GF

>I can't think of another franchise that releases two games simultaneously like that.
There are some but they actively are differences that matter between the two to make it worth it.

I want HGSS/Plt/BW2 levels of postgame.
I want to be able to rematch every single trainer I encounter on my journey and for them to have high leveled strong teams (60’s - 80’s). This includes rivals, gymleaders, notable characters/trainers, villain team bosses, elite 4 etc.
I want a new area to explore with dungeons, highlevel pokemon to catch and battle and maybe a cool legendary or strong/hard to catch Pokémon at the end.
Battle Frontier or PWT equivalent.
Pokéthlon, overworld following Pokémon and interaction (never ever but I can dream).
Fun things to do in Galar, mini games or whatever.
NATIONAL FUCKING DEX (can’t believe we have to fucking ask for this)
Good pokemon type variety and distribution across the region. (800+ mons, what’s the fucking excuse)
Veteran trainer difficulty setting, hard mode.
MOVE TUTORS AVAILABLE, ADDING THEM IN THE THIRD VERSION IS FUCKING BULLSHIT
(this will never happen but) stat and movepool rebalancing and distribution for all mons or at least the ones that really need it to breathe new life and make the meta varied and fun not just slightly different variations of the same team over and over again.

I know that this is a long list, it’s asking for a lot, my expectations are high (and I’ll likely be disappointed) but for fucks sake, as someone who started with Gold when I was 4 years old and have played every main series Pokémon game since to completion all I want is for gamefreaks incompetent ass to give us a truly good game again. XY/SM sucked, ORAS/USUM we’re mediocre. And LGBLTQPE is a fucking travesty. I don’t give a fuck if it’s a yellow remake, removing wild battles, not adding Sevii Islands, Johto or maybe even trying to do something new with the Orange Islands is the epitome of laziness. God damn it gamefreak, prove me wrong.
Guess I let my autism show too much, but this is what it’s going to take for me not to drop Pokémon on the switch.

God veteran trainer mode would be such a step in the right direction. I want nothing to do with another sun and moon tutorial situation again

>rebalancing pokemon
stop it. I am so tired of seeing this because a few stat boosts aren't going to help pokemon with fundamentally broken archetypes like Vespiquen, Golem, Avalugg, Kriketue, etc.
You are not going to fix pokemon by changing stats alone, not even an ability can save everything. Pelipper was a once-in-a-blue-moon level miracle.
Some Pokemon, like Golem, would need entire type and archetype changes to be relevant in this meta

Then what about the Pokemon in the world? Dynamic level scaling for wild Pokemon would be pretty gay

gamefreak to actually try for once.
if genius sonority could get the 3D pokemon games to look and run as good as they did gamefreak can too.
add an actual postgame for once, hell allow for some neat online functionality with the postgame in general. maybe bring back the title defense shit they tried in sun/moon and add an online component.

Attached: 1551480538061.jpg (1500x1530, 2.36M)

I want utility Shit like the dexnav+.
I want no talking companion. Fuck that.

Level scaling for miscellaneous encounters are absolute cancer and make you feel like you aren't making progress at all as well as being annoying roadblocks if you just want to do something quick without stocking up on repels are actively dodging trainers
However if they don't scale it makes things stick out like a sore thumb when in comparison to gym battles and the like (See both vanilla GSC, HGSS, and the romhack Crystal Clear)
It's a lose-lose

Honestly, I think the most that can be asked for is the gen4 treatment for a bunch that really need it. Parasect et al need a third stage badly.

If HMs were a good mechanic, 99% of players wouldn't use HM slaves. Sorry it breaks your autistic immersion that the tiny pidgey in your party can fly you across the whole map, or that you really are exploring the map with your own party, and they turn into a black blob. It's was almost universally hated, you're no better a gamer for shoving those awful moves in your party.

hot take, I don't think wild pokemon should scale as a general rule. Maybe for some of the spartan routes like a mt silver for example they should be high level, but for regular routes they should be starting route tier with a few exceptions. You'd have to redesign trainers in that situation though

>hard mode
>HMs back
>actual proper dungeons, unlike the hallways from Gen 6 and 7
>no intrusive characters leading you to the next destination by the hand
>actual fucking postgame
>Battle Frontier
>Safari Zone
I fully expect none of these things to happen though.

yeah i just replayed through HG and it's awful, especially the fact you need flash for 60% of the caves

I want a Ghost/Normal, preferably a Ghost/Normal mythic. Nothing else matters to me

Seems like oldfags want Pokemon to be a full reboot.
This is why Let's Go existed. So causals can just have what Pokemon is known for, and for GF to risk its ID for a niche audience. Hope they can pull it off like Zelda did.

Fuck off, HMs are a way better roadblock, than the actual fucking roadblocks you got in Gen 7.

just make them secret techniques then, not a fucking move a pokemon has to know

I'm fine with secret techniques.

What do you mean with "style from LGPE" you fucking muppet? This game won't have partener pokemon faggotry for sure, so you must just mean that HMs are not moves you have to give to a pokémon and you use something else to do similar things. Well, that's from S/M you double nigger.

I hope so too, but it's highly unlikely. Based on interviews, they're living in a completely fictional world.

I didn't waste my time with S/M, I just meant secret techniques

but you wasted your time on fucking LGPE, kek.

I never said I was the smartest man kek

>HMs back
kill yourself

based unown trainer

>Sword
>Shield
>Magic
the new mechanic will be Trainer can used Magic
