Wrong, you're a casual zoomer.
The majority of the games are trash. You'd know that if you weren't bird brained parrot who actually played them.
Silver Surfer is good.
Even a lot of the more solid games suffer from the god awful frame rates
most of the games on all consoles aren't good, what's your point?
Not an issue.
Fpbp, fuck outta here with this shit, NES rules, dorks
What do you mean not an issue? A god awful framerate can become really annoying. I'm not one of those fags that needs a game to be running at 60 at all times, but there's a limit.
>annoying.
Exactly; annoying at times, not bad. Again, not an issue at all.
Are you claiming a consistent annoyance isn't a negative?
Yes, don't an ungrateful spoiled faggot.
>megaman 2-6
>mario 2 and 3
>dragon quest 1-4
>punch out
>both zeldas
>kirby's adventure
>castlevania 1 and 3
All strong as fuck to this day, and that's off the top of my head.
>>dragon quest 1-4

QUICK POST NES KINO
youtube.com
Quick rundown on the channel and the videos?
Doug Walker knows more about good film making than any youtuber knows about good game design.
He's right, but keep in mind the massive library of games and how inconsistent the quality is between them.
For every good game on the NES there is like 10 mediocre or straight up shit ones.
of all the games on my list to criticize you literally picked the ones that haven't had significant gameplay adjustments to this day.
Who said DQ was any good at this day?
Nothing too different from nowadays, or gen 5, or gen 6.
That's because most of the games were licensed trash. Not to say consoles had bad libraries, but there was saturation from game companies banking on various intellectual properties. This is true for any console worth a shit up until the end of the Wii.

everyone idiot
yikes nigga
I love the NES and the great classics that still hold up today!
But you are functionally retarded if you don't think the vast majority of the overly large library wasn't shovelware shit.
>Batman
>Ninja turtles
>NARC
>Fester's quest
>Mario 2 and 3
Some NES games are literally eternal and never suffer from age.
I have a big retro game collection I started building in the 80s and easily I'd say 92% of the games on the NES are crap.
Everybody knows this except really blind fanboys.
Most super nintendo and genesis games sucked, too. Nobody cares about the vast bulk of games on any given system.
literally
>i'm a causal and those nes games suck because i can't beat them without infinite retries
Do people not realize when people say that most nes games suck that they aren't talking about the dozen or so nes games that you actually liked, but the 690+ others?
Dragon Warrior 4 still has one of the greatest RPG endings of all time.
You make a character at the beginning that you can't even play as until the final chapter of the game.
Then you proceed to play as 15 assorted characters up to chapter 5 before finally gaining control of your character, recruiting most of that 15 and finding that you control them with tactics instead of direct commands.
Beat the multi-phase final boss and board a hot air balloon and proceed to visit every character's home and get an ending for each one.
>But you are functionally retarded if you don't think the vast majority of the overly large library wasn't shovelware shit.
What does PS1 have to do with this thread?
I don't know why anyone would single out the NES though when this is true for literally every console and also the PC. Most games are shit. It takes someone good at making games to make a good game. Most people are not particularly good at anything.
Eh, singling out the NES this way isn't the same as saying it's not true anywhere else. That's dumb logic.
What's dumb logic is pointing it out at all, when it's clearly just the way of the industry at large.
Not really. People can discuss a single system library without also having to issue a disclaimer about every other system library. Most people can understand that.
Jesus you really are a passive aggressive little fuck, aren't you? The point is he has done nothing to differentiate the NES from literally any other system that shares this problem, he's not talking about anything unique.
Calm down.
>The point is he has done nothing to differentiate the NES from literally any other system that shares this problem
He doesn't have to. People are fully capable of understanding that you can talk about an issue with something without also having to run through every other possible instance of the problem elsewhere.
Assuming that people talking about an issue with one case as being tantamount to dismissing the issue everywhere else is an extremely poor leap of logic.
True, but most games were bad back then too. The good ones still hold up other than PS1 where even the best games are shit today.
>other than PS1 where even the best games are shit today.
Oh boy, that's some decent bait.
Wrong, Metroid is still one of the best games on the system, you fucking zoomer. Get schooled.
learn to read you moron
>1 of 715 games.
It is not. As a kid I had the NES from my uncle and a PS1 my parents bought for my brother and me. We always had computers so when I was old enough I started to play on them. We also got gifted a SNES later but only had AllStars, SMW and LTTP. Today I can replay my favourite games of all systems I had as a kid beside PS1. The early 3D graphics plus the bad controls make them unplayable. I can still play prime PC FPS from around that time with no problem but thats because they had good controls. I would have the nostalgia for PS1 but the games are just that bad.
I just beat Ninja Gaiden yesterday. Way harder than Sekiro and it requires skill, quick reflexes, lots of memorization and ball of steel. Yet, with a bit of practice, I bet you can beat the final boss without taking any damage. Anyway, its a timeless gem.
No, that's bait. You can keep trying, but it's clearly bait.
There are some good racing, jump n run and fighting games on PS1 but non of those were better than their 2D counterparts. The new genres that were possible with 3D feel like torture with their glitching camera and bad controls.
That is also the reason why the PS1 remake failed. SNES mini has great 2D pixelart games that are best in what they do while PS1 mini has 3D games that are the worst in what they do. PS1 was a milestone in 3D gaming and invented many genres but today they are just what Atari was for 2D gaming.
You cannot be fucking serious. Of all the games to pick out you pick some of the best ones.
>Saying NES games aren't good
>River City series exists.
Dodgeball is timeless, fuck off
Dragon Quest 3 also holds up as an exceedingly good rpg even when compared to many rpgs of today, even disregarding the remakes.
32 bit kino might be the ultimate pleb filter.
