where’s prime 4

How many fingers am I holding up behind my back?

Is it true the prime fanbase are worse than melee boys?

what should i get for dinner?

Probably not for a couple years at least. since they started over.

Trick question, you can't hold your hands behind your back while typing.

I don't have any extended interaction with the SSBM fanbase, so I can't really answer that. I know Metroid fans have gotten a reputation for being pretty prickly about the current state of the series, so...maybe?

But you aren't me

Hard to go wrong with pizza.

That's true. I'm me.

How does it feel knowing the only good Metroid game is Super Metroid?

Attached: 1452666537068.png (576x608, 352K)

I did my third play through of Super Metroid recently and wanted to try and 100% it without a guide. Icould have sworn I scoured every single room with the X ray Visor but somehow I only finished with 90%.

Any advice? Is there a not so obvious mechanic I missed or anything? I’d like to get that last 10% without using a guide but I have no idea where to even start.

What does Samus' pussy feel like?

I know the answer but how many Ridleys are there in the series?

Is the wii trilogy the best way to play those games or would you prefer gamecube controller?

I wouldn't know, I can't describe the feeling of an opinion I don't have.

If the X-Ray Visor won't find it, a power bomb sure will.

Only Sakamoto knows.

1) Ridley. The dude from Metroid 1/Zero Mission, Prime 1, Prime 3, Samus Returns and Super. Appears as Meta Ridley in Prime 1 and Prime 3, Omega Ridley in Prime 3 and Proteus Ridley in Samus Returns.
2) Clone Ridley from Other M, implied to have the original's memories so you could count these guys as the same one.
3) Ridley-X, an X-Clone made from Clone Ridley's drained body.
4) Robot Ridley from Zero Mission. No relation to any of the other guys, just a robot that looks like Ridley.

I prefer the wii version, I just like the targeting and having the spring ball in Prime 1 and Prime 2, but it's a total personal preference thing.

Have you played any Metroid ROM hacks? If so, which ones do you recommend?

Attached: 1527544889957.png (1024x717, 376K)

I played Super Metroid Resdesign and I thought it was lame and missed the point of the original in a big way. I dunno if you'd count it as a romhack, but I thought AM2R on the other hand got the point better than most professional games in the genre.

I know a lot of people don't like them, but I like the jet boots.

Who is this, and why does he wear the pokeball?

What does the secret ending in samus returns mean?

At one point, it was. It was basically Metroid 5, for the DS. Sakamoto confirmed that it existed and basically said that if he ever went back to it, he'd just start over completely.

Different artists using different art styles can draw a character in different ways?

I guess if you want an in-universe explanation, Smash Samus is from further along on the timeline and she tightened her glutes up a bit at some point.

The secret ending or the secret chozo lore?

Are you an oldfag?

Busted

The Chozo used to be a race of proud warriors before they became scientists. Looks like there's some Chozo that didn't want to stop being warriors and it looks like they're some mean fuckers.

That's kinda splitting hairs, but, yes.

Okay, what were you asking then?

That's the worst fucking name, I swear.

Favorite game? For me it's Super Metroid.

Look, I never claimed to be the most knowledgeable butt fan. One way or the other however it's drawn or rendered, it's Samus' butt. And that makes it the best one in the galaxy.

I like it. I like when stuff in the Metroid universe has names that are just a little bit goofy.

Prime 2 on the Trilogy.

What argument do you have against the implication that making Samus a robot would vastly improve the series? If you're a zoom zoom who cares about the story, I guess it might hurt your experience, but if you're a man who cares about the gameplay, it means less clutter and "story" and other cancer.

you are no longer the most knowledgeable metroid fan on Yea Forums

I'm invested in Samus Aran, the character. If Samus as a robot was realized in a compelling way the way Samus as a human is, I'd be fine with it. You seem to be implying this would be for the purpose of removing the story entirely, though, and that seems kinda strange to me as suggesting she be a robot isn't implying the removal of the story, merely that it be changed to something else.

I said I'm the most knowledgeable Metroid fan on Yea Forums and that you could ask me anything. My butt knowledge is much more limited than my Metroid knowledge.

Considered, never concretely planned in any sort of real way.

I love Prime 1. But I just like Prime 2's setting, atmosphere, lore, weapons, bosses, music, etc. a little bit more.

Thank you for a nice constructive thread op

When youll get a job, Sean?

>that seems kinda strange to me as suggesting she be a robot isn't implying the removal of the story, merely that it be changed to something else.
Personally I would like the story to not be centered around Samus and her emotions. It led to a specific game that I'd rather not bring up. Besides which, Metroid is at its best when the story is somewhat of a minor note. I'd prefer Prime and Super over Fusion and Zero Mission anyway. Would you agree?

>A game series over 20 years old is flavor of the month
>A game that has only one entry and the second has yet to prove itself isn't

I like Hollow Knight but fuck off.

What is Sylux's backstory and why does everyone insist he's totally gonna be a main Metroid villain?

>My butt knowledge is much more limited than my Metroid knowledge.
It's Samus' butt, though. There has to be some lore as why her butt is so fit and then suddenly in Smash it's gone

Is Federation Force canon?

Is Samus actually a Metroid?

Who cares. It's all made up shit. Canon is the dumbest concept.

Cancelled.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I just really like discussing the series without repeating the same tired topics over and over.

I'm not Sean, and I do have a job.

My favorite game is Prime 2 and that game didn't focus much on Samus' emotions, but when Zero Mission, Fusion and Prime 3 touched on that stuff, I really, really liked it. That other game doesn't bother me because it focused on Samus as a person, it bothers me because it did so badly. It got very basic details about her life completely wrong and its big emotional moments were directed very poorly.

I really love the sedate, restrained storytelling that Super and the first two Prime games do. One of my favorite things in the franchise is scanning the dead Luminoth in Prime 2 and learning a bit about who these people were and how they tried to fight off the Ing, like how one chose to starve to death rather than leave their post in the process, or how two others were father and daughter and died right next to each other. It made me care about saving this planet.

But if it was done well, I would not mind another shot at telling an overt story about Samus and who she is as a person because I think she's interesting. I would just prefer it to be done well.

They stole experimental power suit tech from the Federation. They have a strong hatred for the Galactic Federation, and that's all we know about them. The reason people think they'll be an important future character is their appearance in the Metroid Prime 3 post-credits scene and that they seem to be a foil to Samus in a few key ways. Also, their gender is never specifically mentioned, so some people think they might be a woman, which again, would make them a bit of a foil to Samus.

Parasite.

Maybe she worked out less for Smash because it's not life and death. Maybe Snake is into less fit butts and she's using it to throw his guard off.
In Fusion, she's part Metroid.

Not him but I agree. And while I'd prefer keeping human Samus, the manual of the first game said that she was cybernetically augmented which makes a lot of sense with her armor. She's like a huge freak with alien DNA and robots parts, it could show more.

Why can Samus breathe underwater and space, but not toxic gas?

>Parasite.
I was thinking about those ice bats that only appear in one room and disappear after. After checking there's actually more than those, besides the boss obviously, you also have 3 other ice creatures and one aqua. Didn't know those were missable.

Attached: 1548562002144.jpg (500x635, 57K)

>I played Super Metroid Resdesign and I thought it was lame and missed the point of the original in a big way.
Because it truly did. The original was meant to be standard Metroid, isolation and exploration. Redesigned was one of those hacks where the creators and fans who asked for it only gave a shit about MUH CHALLENGE!! and needed it to be stupid hard when it didn't need it.

It's corrosive gas.

I really like Prime 2 but never got to finish it. I'm waiting for that hack of dolphin to be complete to be able to play it on PC with M&K and normal fps controls.

Yes. It's small but it does have a place in the larger Metroid universe.

In Fusion, she's part Metroid.

Sonic, unfortunately.

I dunno, it's been a reeeeally long time since I played a Metroid on keyboard and I never found it particularly comfortable any way. Trying to get some of the hidden items in Zero Mission on keyboard was a giant pain in the butt.

I think if anything it's more of a testament to how insanely polluted the Pirate Homeworld is that Samus had to go get another upgrade to be able to survive it.

Mmhm. When I played it, it felt strongly like somebody trying to apply the logic of a Kaizo-type romhack to a Metroid game. Unfortunately, like a lot of Kaizo impersonators, it didn't have anywhere near the amount of intelligence or charm of that hack. Stuff like the hell run is a neat idea, but they took it too far and it just wound up being frustrating.

Yeah, there's a few missable enemies in Prime 1.

How come Zero Mission is so much better than Fusion?

Fusion is too linear.

Where are the Chozo? Are they dead?

There's a dolphin hack being made to be able to play it with classic fps controls on PC. If you can wait for that.

>Linear is bad
>Somehow simply being able to do the exact same shit, but in a different order makes a game good or bad

When will this meme die

Don't bother, I didn't read, I thought you were talking about Prime.

Oh shit, that's news to me. Sounds fantastic.

I've never played it on mouse and keyboard, but I strongly recommend finishing it when you get a chance, it has a really great final level and ending.

Zero Mission feels a bit more open and explorable. Even if the Chozo statues get a little overbearing, it's not quite as bad as Adam flatly telling you where to go. I think Fusion mostly takes really good advantage of its linearity to have a lot of great setpieces, but playing around with all of your upgrades to explore the full Zero Mission map is some of the most fun the 2D side of the franchise has to offer.

Killed or ascended to a higher plane of existence or busy being very mean warlords.

I like linear games retard but not when it's Metroid. What's good about Metroid is to be lost and go everywhere not being ordered to go there and there.

"Waaah game too linear!" is a shit argument. Fusion isn't a good example because you still can backtrack and explore a lot as the game progresses. Something like FFX where you're literally on rails up until only the final moments of the game is a better example.

why are the space pirates such a threat when they fail on almost every planet they try to conquer

Do you think Samus would be able to take my 10.5" dick?

Attached: 1532876061396.png (966x752, 747K)

Anything, huh? A hiker is lost in a forest whose shape and dimensions are precisely known to him. What is the best path for him to follow to escape from the forest?

Samus can't be everywhere at once. We play as Samus, so we only see the times where they crash and burn. They cause a LOT of trouble in places we're not.

Only Sakamoto knows.

Does he have any phazon?

It isn't, the guy who made the comic made him up

Samus is autistic, right? Not including Other M autism, she's just straight up autistic from being raised by weird bird people, right?

>Does he have any phazon?
No phazon. No tubes. Just two good legs.

Can he see the sky ?

The Chozo come off as pretty normal in side-material. They instilled Samus with a strong moral compass, if anything. She's never come off as particularly strange to me.

Oh, well, if he has two good legs. Find a clearing, sprint until he builds up speed, duck, then shinespark in a northwestern direction until he finds civilization.

Where do you see the series picking up after the events of Fusion?

How do I get the prime games to stop stuttering on Dolphin? The devs said they fixed it but it's a straight up lie, I've tried every configuration of settings and those games will always be stutter fests. On an i5 4690k @4.1GHz and a 1060 6GB.

So we've seen Samus wear bootyshorts and go to space bars and stuff if you beat the games fast enough. What are the chances Samus is a virgin?

In between the trees, sure.

Then he can use that to find his direction.

That's not the question. The question is, "What is the best path?"

What was Gunpei Yokoi's involvement in Super Metroid? Did he have anything to do with any other Metroid titles?

I don't get it, if he knows the shape of the forest and can see where the north is with the sun, he can just go to the closest end of the forest.

Samus is for gentle wordless lovemaking under plaited white sheets

If he knew which was the closest end he would not be lost. He is in a forest, of which he knows the precise dimensions, but does not know where he is within those dimensions.

Hard to say. Sakamoto was clearly building up to a plot where there's a rogue element within the Federation, but Fusion was almost two decades ago, now and they haven't gone past it yet, at this point it kinda seems like they just may not be interested in heading there.

They've done basically everything possible to not go past Fusion at this point. Remaking 2 and making Prime 4 is about as clear of a signal as possible that they're not interested in going forward.

No idea, I've never used Dolphin. Sorry.

She's an adult human so unless the Chozo DNA suppresses her libido, she presumably has needs the same as anybody. But really, only Sakamoto knows.

He produced the first three games. A video game producer is basically the top person overseeing all aspects of the prospect, but they delegate the design stuff to the director because they have a lot of other shit to handle.

I don't like to make assumptions, I try to have an honest, good faith discussion with everybody.

How come we didnt have a final fight with Dark Samus where she regained that metroid shell from Prime 1?

Would have been cool.

Who's the weakest character that could beat Samus?

Attached: samus_sip.png (256x137, 11K)

Sex is not a need, silly.

when will samus brarp into my nostrils?

They must've felt the Aurora Unit was more climactic, probably because it does share a resemblance with Mother Brain. Sadly, I think Aurora Unit 313 was pretty underwhelming as an ending to the trilogy. I dunno if just repeating the Metroid Prime boss fight would've felt any better, but that boss fight was more fun and more challenging than AU313.

A single X-infected toad, apparently.

Everybody has a libido. I guess you're right, Samus could easily take care of it herself, but some people want the physical companionship. I dunno. I can see her just keeping to herself and I can see her having a one night stand with Rundas. Either seem plausible.

Only Sakamoto knows.

insurrectionindustries.com/product/carby-version-2black/

Anyone have any experience with one of those?
I'm sick of getting blueballed with prime trilogy on switch teases, so I might pick up one of those adapters

>I know Metroid fans have gotten a reputation for being pretty prickly about the current state of the series, so...maybe?
Metroid fans are annoyed by Nintendo's shit and call them out on bullshit so Nintendofanboys don't like them

At that price you probably can buy a used wii and play the trilogy on it.

What are the top 5 Metroid games

No experience, sorry, but I'll second that you could probably find a Wii and Trilogy for not much more than that.

I can see how people clamoring for a new game in their series when they've gotten several of the best Nintendo games ever can be a bit annoying, but...yeah. It is pretty annoying how Nintendo treated the series for a while there. Having said that, the announcement of SR and Prime 4 pretty much pacified me.

Judgment call, but, for me personally.
1. Prime 2
2. Super
3. Prime 1
4. AM2R
5. Zero Mission

Why can't metroid crawl??

Tell us why Gunpei Yokoi was killed.

Did you try giving it phazon?

He was hit by a car.

Not really sure why you quoted me twice but I found SR to be decent. I didn't think it was that great but it was good.
I didn't like the new stuff like that diggernaut boss or Ridley.
I also believe that it's better to let a good series rest in peace and glory but the last games were Other M and Federation Force. MP3 would've been the best place to "finish" the series but I don't see why there can't be more games about exploring planets and its history, kinda like MP2 and the Luminoth. I also like how with MP2 and MP3 they didn't just recycle the usual armors and weapons, they came up with new stuff.
I'm cautiously optimistic about Prime4 but I fear that as long it isn't garbage, it will be hyped up by retards.

What's your opinion about the Wii ports? I didn't like them that much because the GC controls never bothered me that much (since the games were designed with the limited movement in mind) but I disliked some small stuff like missing minor graphical details or the way you change weapons and visors. Also it rubbed me the wrong way how the "normal" difficulty was actually easy while "Veteran" was the normal mode in the originals.
But of course I see how it feels more natural to travel the world with the Wii controls.
>He was hit by a car.
He asked why :^)

>Judgment call, but, for me personally.
Good tastes.

>Prime 2 over 1
You are now a credible source for all Metroid info. And also Based and Aetherpilled

When is nintendo going to release Metroid prime trilogy on the switch?

Which Metroid/game has the most revealing costume?

Attached: 1090598195.jpg (3000x4000, 2.99M)

Oh, the first one was meant to be quoting the guy asking about the adapter. I miss the little stuff that was lost in the Wii ports too, and some of the removal of certain sequence breaking opportunities, but I really love the aiming system and having the Spring Ball in 1 and 2, so they're ultimately my preference.

>He asked why :^)
Because he got out of his car and was hit by another one.

I love the hell out of Prime 1, both for what it did to the series, bringing it into 3D and doing it so well, so I wouldn't begrudge anybody having it as their favorite, my only issue is it feels a little too safe. It feels just a LITTLE BIT like they were trying to make "Super in 3D" (but it's nowhere near as derivative in that respect as....that one game). Everybody loved Prime 1, rightfully so, so Retro had more confidence and really did their own thing with Prime 2 and it shows and I love it for that.

Hopefully as soon as possible. I heard a Best Buy leak suggested it may be heading up soon.

Only ever played the nes one, how is the prime series?

Prime 1 is a great game, but I can't help but feel as if people rag on 2 for a lot of things Prime 1 does worse. Still an amazing trilogy though.

Good, you get less movements options though.

Why are Metroid 1 and Zero Mission the only truly non-linear games in the entire series?

You forgot Super Metroid.

Super Metroid is pretty linear.

Super and Fusion probably show the most skin.

This is just my opinion, but it's three of the best games I've ever played. There's a great infographic about what order to play the series in that I unfortunately don't have saved, if anybody else has it and would like to post it.

Yeah. I think people are a little unfair to Prime 2. I've seen ammo brought up as a critique, but I never had an issue with it and I don't think the Annihilator would've been able to be as strong if it wasn't limited SOMEHOW and I don't even wanna imagine that thing being any less great than it is.

Because the series isn't really about linearity or lack thereof. A lot of the games are fairly linear, they're just extremely intuitively designed so that you feel like you're exploring yourself rather than being told where to go. It's about empowerment and player expression. Not linearity.

When someone says Metroid Fusion is too linear, what they're trying to say is, "I wish I had been able to go find this myself instead of being told to go there.", not "I wish there were multiple ways to get from here to there." Which is reasonable, but as said, I think Fusion uses its more guided nature to its benefit and I still like it a lot.

Which is better: Samus Returns or AM2R?

I got one. Why do people still take ACfag's bait?

Attached: 1551841020435.png (714x718, 494K)

Why are you such a faggot?

They haven’t been in these threads long enough to recognize his repeated speech patterns and talking points

I like Sylux's design a lot. I don't have a lot to say about their appearance in Hunters because besides the hunter characters, who I mostly really like, that game was really, really forgettable. They've teased them coming back a couple times now and I'm quite interested to see if they show up in Prime 4. An antagonist that hates the Federation and Samus but has no connection to the Space Pirates piques my interest. And this is unrelated, but I'm about 65% sure they're a woman.

I prefer AM2R. I prefer AM2R to a lot of stuff within the genre.

I've been in Metroid threads on Yea Forums for years and as many times as I've heard of this person, I've never been able to pick them out, so I assume it's that.

Don't know how to be anything else.

if the space pirates are so smart then why don't they just blow up samus ship while she's out exploring?

How soft is samus's ass?

Even if they recognize him, people nowadays dont understand the power of just ignoring trolls
They'll reply willingly

Could Samus beat Master Chief?

Samus' ships have some level of AI minding them. If a Space Pirate got anywhere close, it would presumably fly away and either hide or fill them with enough missiles that anybody who saw them would think Science Team had put them on an all missile diet so they could build up an immunity to missiles.

Only Sakamoto knows.

why are you such a massive faggot?

Honestly tho could someone explain me the lore of this game I'm too autistic and lazy to scan everything in Prime. What's the deal with Samus was he raised in Chozo? How did she become a space mercenary? Who makes the metroids? and why? All that shit.

Attached: 1445986771206.png (1024x724, 1.07M)

I find that hard to believe. There was a period of time where he was in every single thread.

Samus was raised by humans until Ridley killed everyone on her colony then chozo found her and gave her magic bird blood so she could live on their planet. They trained her to be a badass and gave her a cool power suit and she became a space mercenary. The chozo on a different planet created the metroids to kill a bigger threat, the X parasite. But the metroids ended up getting captured by pretty much everyone and they're super easy to clone and stuff.

They tried to in Prime 1, but the stealth had a cloak field so they couldnt find it kek

I don't think Samus would have any interest whatsoever in fighting Master Chief, but if they were to fight, I don't think Chief would have much of a chance. He's fought a lot of stuff (Elites are basically the most insanely, ridiculously frightening thing ever in the lore) but not anything with Samus' combination of speed, versatility and firepower.

I just don't pay attention to these kind of things much, I guess. And anyway, like I said earlier in the thread, I make these threads to try and have some constructive discussion about the series, so I want to at least try to reply to everybody in good faith.

>What's the deal with Samus was he raised in Chozo?
Samus lived on a small mining colony out in space. Ridley and the Space Pirates attacked and killed everybody, including her parents, except for her. The Chozo came after the Space Pirates left and adopted Samus. They took her to Zebes, injected her with their DNA so she could survive on the planet's conditions and raised her.
>How did she become a space mercenary?
The Chozo trained her and taught her to fight so that she could protect people. She eventually left Zebes and joined the Galactic Federation but eventually left when she decided she wanted to do things her own way rather than follow someone else's orders.
>Who makes the metroids? and why?
The Chozo discovered an energy-based parasite called the X on SR388. The X get into someone's body, kill them from the inside, devour them and can then copy everything about them. The Chozo saw this as extremely dangerous and decided the X needed to be exterminated, so they made the Metroids, monsters that devour energy, and released them on SR388 to control the X.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

To what degree do you consider the old manga circa Super Metroid canon?

>ACfag
what the hell? Metroid is nothing like Assassin's Creed.

What's your credit card number and the three numbers on the back?

Only...Sakamoto...knows?

The 4koma gag manga? It's pretty difficult to consider that one canon, since it's so goofy, but it's still charming as heck.

Did you mean the Zero Mission manga? I pretty much consider that one totally canon.

Attached: supermetroidmanga.jpg (1053x1600, 381K)

QUESTION TO OP: do you like Metroid mods? If so, which ones are your favorites? If you don't have any favorites, do you want recommendations?

Any ideas on who might've been developing Prime 4 before the scrap? And what exactly may have went wrong?

Also, what the hell has Retro been doing this entire time?

What are her kinks?

Ah, yeah, I was mistaken, I was referring to the Zero Mission one. Good to know, though.

Armored Core.
IIRC he was named as such because he was a big fan of it and wanted more games to be like it.

I've pretty much only played Redesign and I didn't care for it. If you know of any good ones, sure, lemme know.

I heard it was Bandai Namco, and for Nintendo to not just start over the project entirely but take it off of them and give it to another studio, I can only assume they must've been doing some real nonsense over there.

No idea what Retro was doing. They were probably working on something, but it probably wasn't that important if it was pushed aside to drop MP4 right on their lap.

Only Sakamoto knows.

Yeah, I like the Zero Mission manga and I haven't seen anything to contradict it so I still take it as canon. I think Samus' personality might be a little off, but it's basically at the start of her career, so it's fine that she's kinda immature in it. I like that it explores her past and her relationship with the Chozo a lot. I like her goofy sidekicks, giant monkey guy and little weasel boy. I like that she has a giant fucking PTSD attack because of Ridley and it's done in a way that makes you feel for her, unlike....that one game.

I like that near the end, she's fighting a monster and tells Adam "I'll kill this thing for you, for this price." and Adam's like "That's five times the going rate, I'll handle it myself!" and then Samus goes "Too late, I'm already done!" and just instantly dusts the monster. I imagine her and Adam's relationship was like that a lot.

>I've pretty much only played Redesign and I didn't care for it. If you know of any good ones, sure, lemme know.
Since you've been such a cool guy all thread, I'd be happy to make some recommendations.

Customizable difficulty, cool little achievements you can get depending on what you accomplish, the ability to generate your own custom seed or re-use a seed, you can choose how many rooms you traverse until you reach the end, and the game scales to your difficulty. It's pretty damn cool.

>Metroid: super Zero mission
Basically a remake of Zero Mission in the Super engine. Has all the quality of life amenities, including better controls and gameplay. Also has custom sprites and custom backgrounds and new areas. You could consider it a complete overhaul. One of my favorites.

>Hyper Metroid
Basically a completely new take on Super Metroid. Kind of cringeworthy story, but it's minor so you can ignore it if you want. Same as above when it comes to completely overhauling the gameplay. It also has a new UI, a new ammo management system that combines all weapons into the same ammo pool (trust me, it really works. and it incentivizes getting any and all powerups), and even new gameplay quirks like the ability to mockball on command once you get the speed booster.

I recommend all of them, and I cherish them like my own kids if they were 16 bit programs on my emulator.

I forgot two others that I think you'd like.

>project base
Basically the vanilla game but with a ton of quality of life changes. I think Super Zero mission is even based off of this romhack. Good for vanilla runs with new flair.

>Super Metroid: rotation
Basically the base game, but everything is turned over 90 degrees. It's great because the devs playtested it and added in little helpers here and there to make sure it was beatable, but you'd still need to know how to walljump to really master it.

Which version of Redesign? Because if it was the original I'd recommend giving it another shot. The author went over it and improved it significantly in the Axeil Edition.
For other reccomendations, I second everything user said, and want to add Ice Metal Uninstall and Phazon Hack.
Also look out for X-Fusion, an upcoming hack that acts as a Metroid Fusion version of Super Zero Mission. It's been in development for years and looks like it'll be the most ambitious Super hack of all time.

Hyper Metroid is based off Project Base, not Super Zero Mission.

Thank you, I'll look into all of these. I'm always looking for more Metroid (although I still have Hollow Knight and Guacamelee 2 in my backlog.....)

It was a long, LONG time ago, so it was probably the original. My main issue was I felt it had missed the point of Metroid by trying to be too challenging, so if that's been fixed, I can give it another try.

>Hyper Metroid is based off Project Base, not Super Zero Mission.
Ah. Thanks for the correction. it has been a while since I looked into it.

It's definitely still got challenge, but it's not balls the wall anymore. Well, to me at least.
It fixes a lot of the minor things and some of the larger stuff that aggravated players and completely overhauls Tourian. Although that new Tourian can be a little aggravating in and of itself. Well, it's your call either way.

Another kind of "fun" hack like Super Metroid Arcade is Y-Faster.
It's a short-ish hack that puts you on a time limit, but the game is an open book from the word go. You start in a small hub-world and can choose where you want to go. Some power-ups are locked behind getting others, but the game is designed to be open enough that you can complete it no matter what path you take with little backtracking. When you enter an area, you SHOULD be able to make it to the boss there and kill it.
It's also got a little humour here and there.

Tourian was one of the parts that frustrated me. I liked the idea of the Hell Run, but I just remember it being extremely difficult and requiring stuff like really precise bomb jumps. It took away from the fun concept of "You have to get in and get out as quickly as possible because the Varia suit is not an option." and kinda ruined it by making it so hard, I spent forever on it, so the concept just wore out its welcome and became frustrating. If you say it's fixed stuff, I'll give it another look. Plus, well, I won't be playing on M+KB this time, so that might help.

Or maybe this because I just have such a clear idea of what kind of game this would be just from this drawing and I love it.

It's good on its own, but it gets alot of leeway because it came after a series of blunders.

How come prime 2 and 3 aren't as good as prime 1

Why won't my friends talk to me?

Pretty nice picks
I myself prefer when artist make their own rendition of events from the games

The hell run is now optional.
How the hell do you play Super Metroid with a mouse?

Was her butt fat in Wii U Smash?

Okay is metroid any good on vr and you better know the answer

How hot is it inside the suit? Does she got sweaty? What does her sweat taste like?

I think they do certain things better but they're all very close in quality, so if you like Prime 1 most there's probably something about that game that's important to you that it does a little better than the other two.

Have you made sure they're real, first.

I dunno why I said M+KB, I obviously just meant KB. But, yeah, I'll give Redesign another look.

I dunno. You tell me.

Never played a Metroid in VR, sorry.

How is your day going, user? I figured no one else asked, so I thought I would.

How many people smoked while working on Prime 2. How many copies were sold by drug dealers? What is Samus's name backwards but with letters missing that only I know?

The suit probably has internal cooling, but I imagine it probably still gets hot when she goes to areas like Norfair (and I'm just now realizing I referred to Norfair as Tourian a bunch of times earlier. whoops.), so yeah, she probably sweats. Only Sakamoto knows. Only Sakamoto also knows what it feels like when the sweaty zero suit sticks to her skin and she has to peel it off.

I'm good. Saw Shazam. Watched a little bit of wrestling and made this thread, which has been fun. Probably gonna go to bed soon, but I kinda wanna see if I can wait 'til this purges on its own.

Game development is pretty stressful, so probably at least a few. Drug dealers play video games too so maybe some bought it and then sold it back to Gamestop when they were done. Sus.

Good Thread OP

Would you recommend the Metroid Prime games to someone who hasn't played any Metroid games before?

Thank you.

I would recommend the entire Metroid series to someone who hasn't played any Metroid games before, but yes, Metroid Prime is an excellent place to start. They're just extremely fundamentally solid games, even if you don't have any experience with the series or genre, they're very easy to get into.
