The only pikmin game i own is 2, any advice on 3? I know there's a time limit and fruit doesn't respawn.

It's aight
How much time do I generally have in a day? I believe you only have 100 days if you go thorugh all the fruit
Don't bother with 3. It's fucking shit. 2 is the only good Pikmin game. Don't let the Wii U cucks fool you otherwise.
Let this chad engineer explain it to you: youtube.com
There's a big split between Pikmin 1/3 and Pikmin 2 fans. Don't expect 3 to be anything like 2. There's no caves so everything is on the 15 minute time limit, and the game is shorter and easier in general. For the good, it has the best controls and graphics in the series.
Wow, you gonna throw Pikmin 1 under the bus like that?
Peak cringe post.
Just play it nigger, and note that the real fun is replaying and getting all the fruit in less days.
Still upsets me we can't just rescue Olimar right away then get the fruit.
nigger
>shorter and easier
how so?
>stepdad used to watch me play pikmin 3 when it first released and I was in high school
>asked to play it with me sometime
>he got hit by a truck on the freeway a couple years ago and died
>never beat pikmin
Don't know if I can go back to pikmin 3 bros
He was probably just trying to score brownie points with your mom so she'd do kinky shit for him in bed
It's a shorter game (albeit much more fun to replay so I've given 3 more hours then 2) and lacks the bullshit from Pikmin 2's dungeons like bomb rocks falling from the sky.
So whats the Leeway the game tgives you? Try to get at least 1 or 2 fruit a day and use the go here function as often as possible?
Thats not really true considering purple pikmin exist and you can pretty much cheese the entire game in 2. At least 3 has the challenge medals going for it.
That said i think all 3 games are great anyway.
>This nigga just admitted to playing Wii U
>On Yea Forums
>In 2019
>Mfw
2 fruits a day is crap, you can beat the timer from that but that's still slow.
>letting a commie faggot who thinks PW is the best MGS explain anything to you
No thanks.
And nobody cared except an autistic zoomer like you. Protip : you can still play old consoles.
seethe harder.
If you're being even mildly efficient, the time limit doesn't even matter aside from one specific point in the game. You can't fuck around and do absolutely nothing all day every day and save your progress afterwards, but you can do the bare minimum every day if you really want to.
The Wii U was a scam
You should just be glad I replied so you could get the dopamine rush of this social interaction.
Its alright 1 and 2 are better.
Don't worry about the time limit, just make even bare minimum progress each day and you'll have more then plenty.
how many should I get a day then?
As many as you can get while progressing, you shouldn't worry about it on a first playthough though.
3 is the only game in the series I consider the challenge mode to be better than the main campaign
Some fruit gives you whole canisters so aim for them while picking up as many smaller fruits as much as possible along the way. Also, Flying pikmin are your friends when it comes to this task.
At least, that's the strat commonly used.
1's challenge mode is barely a game and 2's just aren't fun to replay.
So fucking close to getting all purple flowers in 2's challenge mode, only missing the last one and the fucking empress on floor 4 with her instant Pikmin eating babies are ruining it for me.
>letting e-celebs sway your opinion
It should inform you at the most. Pikmin 3 is worth checking out if you like the other Pikmin games.
There is no "advice" to give you
Pikmin 3 is incredibly easy and linear. As long as you were born with most of a brain inside of your head you won't have any trouble. Just do what the game tells you to do and go where it tells you to go.
Pikmin 1 is the only good Pikmin game. Dungeons were a mistake and you are human garbage if you liked them.
its literally a childs game I SERIOUSLY hope you don't need "advice" on how to play a game designed for 6 year olds
I dont remember a challenge mode being in 1
as long as you pick up all the fruit you see when you see it, you're fine.
it's great, i sometimes want to buy a 2nd hand wii u just to play it again
Do you all think there is a way to balance the 2 different gameplay styles of 1/3 and 2? I love all 3 games but 2 is my favorite so I want more of it but I don't like the idea of 1 gameplay style taking over. There has to be a way of balancing it, right?
dungeons aside 3 played a lot more like 2 because the time that each fruit gives you in addition to the amount of fruit that you can get kind of makes the time limit irrelevant after the first few days
General rule of thumb:
20 of each pikmin and create seeds of the ones I have fewest of right?
If the dungeons were removed, maybe a goal of
*Gather food, have some fruit respawn every few days?
*Primary goal is gathering other types of materials or so
>20 of each pikmin and create seeds of the ones I have fewest of right?
No the 20 Pikmin rule is a Pikmin 2 thing, on replays you'll be massing one or two colours for whatever you're after at the moment.
and I can redo a previous day right? Which one's should I redo if possible?
When you experience mass Pikmin losses.
I meant for 3
I know, the 20 each rule isn't much of a thing in 3, pretty much only for the final area.
Hardest enemy you thought?
The fuck was he doing a freeway
Sorry tho that sux
probably meth
After Pikmin 3 it'd be interesting to see how a Pikmin 4 would play
Oh this game is about $17 used at gamestop
Honestly I don't want Gamestop to go away because most used games are so much cheaper and going there is quicker than ordering online.
1 is the best because of the atmosphere, world, and balance. The time limit adds a true sense of urgency that really makes the game fun too. Olimar's journals added lots of character as well.
The game is more similar to 1 than 2, but it still has various mechanics that aren't present in either games,
You don't have the C stick ability to move you pikmin swarm around, instead you can lock onto enemies to either throw or have your party charge at the enemy.
You have about 13 minutes of daytime, which is roughly the same as 2, but all your collectables are situated above ground, there are 'caves' in 3, but they aren't dungeons that freeze your timer, moreless an aesthetic change to the environment.
Unlike in 2, you have to strategize on which pikmin to use in combat, since purples are not available in story mode, and even in challenge mode, they're heavily nerfed. Reds and Rocks are good for combat.
The bosses in 3 are a tad more challenging and more complex than in 2
You want to be using your minimap too. sometimes its best to have a controlled captain clear through enemies and use the map to set routes for the other 2 captains to collect treasure.
Pikmin is one of those games that i feel gets more fun on subsequent playthoughs, where you know where everything is, it just boils down to how fast you can collect them.
You cant really satisfy both groups that want a stressful time strategy based game versus a more lenient exploration based one.
Best way to do it is make the main stroy more relaxing and then challenge modes are all about time missions.
