Valve built their userbase by providing the best service possible. No other platform comes close

Valve built their userbase by providing the best service possible. No other platform comes close.
Epic are chinking their way through the competition, killing even smaller publishing platforms.
FUCK CHINA.

valve built their userbase by forcing everyone who wanted to play hl2 and cs:s to use steam. gog is objectively superior except for game availibility.

>Valve built their userbase by providing the best service AVAILABLE.

ftfy.

china owns

lol I get it

I am offended. Delete this thread.

>Valve built their userbase by providing the best service possible.

>the company that fouggt legal battles to stop consumers having a refund option

no they didn't. they built their userbase by shoving their bloatware into half-life 2 and counterstrike.
just because tencent is even worse doesn't mean valve fanboys get to revise history now.

What was the point of poorly blurring the word "fucking"?

let's be real here. they built steam with counter strike and half-life requiring it and every other company laughing at the thought of digital games

>bloatware

Want to know how I know you're underage?

Valve could use a wakeup call the lazy cunts.

Valve built their service by making popular games people wanted to play and selling games cheap.

They do neither of these things any more. Fuck Valve.

>lightest launcher
>20% discount just for playing video games
thank you based uplay

>bethesda launcher
Jesus

Guess I'll move to China.

NOOOOOO I AM CHINESE AND HE CAME TO MY AMERICAN HOUSE TO BAN MY INTERNET BECAUSE YOU POSTED THIS NOT FAIR

It also took a while to gather steam (heh, puns) since when it came bundled with HL2 and CS:S the internet infrastructure of most people wasn’t quite up to the task of digital distribution, and i suspect valve’s inexperience with running a digital distribution service also fed into steam’s rocky start.
But yes, as far as the balance between game availability, prices, and other such concerns of the customer, steam is the best deal currently on the market.

the pic was made by a reddit basedboy

>best service possible

I don't like Epic either but lmao come the fuck on, they've been dragged kicking and screaming into all of their actually important pro-consumer features

Who asked for big picture? Screenshots? Streaming? Community? Workshop? Voice?
These are only used by a fraction of the userbase.

yes, all of those are bloatware.

What kills steam for me nowadays is all the shovelware. I can seldom find something worth playing. Websites all seem to trade suc for reviews and steam user reviews are all over the place. When Risk of rain 2 was available I bought it within minutes because I knew what the fuck it was. Try googling upcoming pc games, fucking nightmare results.

Honestly, if
>Best service possible
was a deciding factor, we'd all be using GOG Galaxy right now

best for consumer != best for publisher
you need to hit a sweet spot between the two and epic seems to have gone the opposite direction and made something great for publishers but not the consumer
