Reminder to buy/dl a psp game if you are on 3.70 and want hacks and exploit will be coming out soon and it requires a psp game. Also lets have a bread for cutest handheld
Vita tan
>slim
disgusting
just look at this beautiful seamless design
>Don't touch vita for ages because it's a fucking paperweight
>3.60 hacks come out
>Can now play any game I want
>Still no fucking games
God I regret buying this shit at launch so much
why does a 64GB memory card cost >$100
same
you can buy a microsd card adapter now if you get it hacked.
hack it and get sd2vita
I did, I still think it's stupid however
hacked it's essentially a superior PSP in every way
even if you don't use it for actual vita games, it has plenty of uses
personally by the time I hacked it, had already played every vita games I wanted (like 30+), so I just use it as a portable emulation machine now and playing my PSP backlog
the only way they can justify still bothering to produce them and stocking them
the alternative is to just discontinue everything and not sell them anymore
only reason i got a slim was because i didn't wanna use a proprietary charger
proprietary memes
What exactly can the ps Vita run once hacked. also does it run harder to emulate systems like the Saturn, 64 and GameCube?
Just bought a vita, recommend me games, I don’t care if they have ports on different consoles or whatever, just tell me games that you like
not a chance. it runs the exact same games as a psp, and it doesn't run them any better.
it actually has a "working" saturn emulator as crazy at it sounds, but it runs so slow that it's unplayable
Bit of a summary:
emulation.gametechwiki.com
might be outdated/game-dependant, and it's also possible to overclock your vita to have some run better if needed
it can also run psp homebrew/emulators that aren't listed there
Shinobido 2
Deception 4: Nightmare Princess
Dungeon Travelers 2
Soul Sacrifice Delta
all vita games/homebrew + all psps games / homebrew
Shinobido looks interesting, how similar is it to tenchu?
muramasa, persona 4 golden, soul sacrifice delta are some of the biggest titles on the platform. muramasa with all it's dlc is one of the better action rpgs you'll play, even if you played the wii version, it's really wild to not see it all censored and shit.
persona 4 golden is what p3 portable should have been. soul sacrifice is a mixture of an arena fighter and a monster hunter game.
freedom wars gets an honorable mention but realtime c rafting bullshit soured it for me. Maybe you can tolerate it.
I highly recommend the steins gat and chaos vns and rabi ribi
killzone mercenaries if you don't mind
>lmao joystick shooter
is an incredibly solid fps, especially for a handheld. It's pretty high quality. The online used to be pretty lively even in 2017, not sure how it is now though. Unit 13 if you ever wanted to know what the SOCOM dudes were up to after, well, SOCOM stopped.
>Gravity Rush's native res hack is not fully functional
>Need for Speed Most Wanted's MSAA is still buggy
Miracle Girls Festival, Utawarerumono, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Rayman Legends, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Virtua Tennis 4
What if I am on 3.69 and already have MGS: PW, a psp game, on my system already? Also, do I need to change my PSN account so I do not get banned?
you wont get banned there have been no vita bans afaik, i always go online with mine aswell. Yeah that will be fine, just dont update, when you exploit is out you shuld downgrade to 3.65 so you can use enso which gives you cold boot
That GY!BE shirt though
There have been bans, but only for retards going online with cheats active, or syncing trophies for unreleased games/leaked games/hacked trophies.
Go back to /Vitagen/ faggot
they know you're hacking either way because vita uploads an history of everything you've opened even _without_ sync'ing trophies or whatnot
but when it comes to trophies/cheats, it comes with people that complain because you're cheating and getting directly reported, which is what gets you banned
I know, I'm just saying those are the concrete triggers we know of for bans. Chances of getting banned are incredibly slim to nil if you don't do the obvious shit, but they're still very real, and if you're not careful or you fuck up,you stand a chance of getting banned.
are the l2r2 grips worth it? or shitty grips without triggers good enough?
You shouldn't need a grip at all. Assuming you're talking about l2/r2 for emulation, you can assign the back touchpad to it and your fingers naturally rest on the back touchpad so grips would be a waste.
Whats with all the vita shilling recently?
Shit is dead get over it.
I am trying to hack my Vita 3.68 watching youtube tutorials. I managed to install Henkakuand Vitashell but I cannot go on modifying the Micro SD so it can be recognised in the SD2Vita card
Knowing how bad I am doing this kind of things I don't know why I got it in the first place...
Wouldn't it be easier to switch to a fake new psn account so that if I make any mistake whatsoever so don't get banned. I don't think I will make a mistake, but I think it is better to be safe.
woke and bluepilled
you probably want to download a PSP demo like Echrochrome anyway, because you may not be able to use the psp game while it's being used for hax
remember all the psp shilling because you could hack it?
well, the vita is now a better psp (which does the same things, but better and more), so now you get vita shilling
and the whole proprietary memory card argument died because you don't need them anymore
So games I download using PKGj have a slim to zero chance of getting me banned or should I always use a spoof psn account?
It's literally one guy. He starts the thread the same fucking way each time.
Is there any point in that if I already have it hacked at 3.6?
Just use your own account. I've been using my own account with framerate patches online, synced hacked trophies, pirated games, homebrew online, etc. etc. and nothing has banned me
I agree. These usual Vita threads get so damn annoying. There's not much to talk about the system and there's a general for it, so what's the point? OP you're a fag
Ok thanks for the advice.
No, given reF00D it's possible to run games intended for a higher firmware on 3.60 anyway.
I used to be on 3.68 myself but I downgraded to 3.60 for boot-time enso (3.65 would've been fine too but might as well stay on the most broken firmware)
Your description sounds pretty sketchy and doesn’t fill me with hope
How do I hack this shit? is there a tutorial, like, super easy?
i dont think so i dont own a single legit vita game and have been syncing trophies/ going online for like two years without issues. Sony literally dont care about the vita. They even left a message in the secure kernel for the hackers kek
currently possible if you're on 3.68 or earlier
being on 3.60 would be easiest given all you have to do is visit a website with your vita and you get hacked through the web browser (top tier security there, vita)
goto there should be a guide in the opthat crossboard link might not work never done it before
The Vita generals on /vg/ are cancer and are more like /anime waifu imagedumps general/
So I just ordered one of eBay for $90. I'll use it as an emulator, but Yea Forums tells me there is also a lot of good weebshit/waifushit. Any suggestions? I plan to get Persona 4: Golden.
Currently in bed playing Ys. Wife is snoring.
>Have a massive backlog on my Vita
>Always busy or in public so I never get a chance to play
Feels bad bros.
Also, what was with that difficultly spike in DG2?
goto vitagen on vg they have an iamge with the best games
>how similar is it to tenchu?
Shinobido is technically Tenchu+, it has all the mechanics from the Tenchu games and more, and also the usual postgame silliness.
It's a great game if you like Tenchu, the only flaws with the game is that it's pretty short, and there's not really many maps, but the gameplay is on point and there's multiple routes you can take and post game content to unlock in terms of costumes and other stuff, which add to the replay value.
Are you going to be able to downgrade with the 3.70 exploit?
Before any faggot tells you that their obscure game didn't work, the music has a little crack, the colors aren't vivid or there's one extra pixel on lv3-8 let me tell you, if you aren't autistic it runs very well:
SNES, NES, GBA, GBC, GB, MAME, some N64 games like Mario Kart, Mario64, Starfox and Zelda OoT.
Some PC ports, like Doom, Jack Jax Rabbit, Quake and has Moonlight to stream your Steam library ln it, heck you can play Zelda Botw in your PX and send it to the Vita to play while taking a shit.
Has an embeded PSP some games had enchanced support to 2nd stick, also runs all PSX games, also has a FreeShoo like app to download those games without need of a PC.
Has PS4 Remote that even on my shitty internet let me play all the 1 player PS4 games.
You can even play PS Vita games aswell!!
yeah
Wait, you can stream your Steam games to the Vita?
if it's broken open there should be no reason not to unless your factory firmware is 3.70 (mine is 1.something lel)
I haven't tried it but there's two homebrew for it yeah (one using moonlight and another if you can't).
Given I can't even stand the lag with PS4 remote play, I'm not gonna bother myself.
The vita keeps getting better and better
Damn, this thing does everything. Wish I didn't have to wait 5 days to get one.
I truly keeps getting better and better. I'm really excited about what games we will see on this sexy thing now that porting and making unity games is easier.
I just looked up remote play too, holy shit, I can play Red Dead Redemption 2 on this thing? Damn, why did this fail?
>alright, let's check this homebrew browser for all the amaz-
I miss the Dekavita.
Also, what's the point?
Seems like you could get a PSTV to do the same job.
I bet /vg/ was directly responsible for this
>PSP already had a weak following in the west, so no one carried over to the Vita
>Too expensive for a handheld, memory cards were even worse
>Nogaems at launch, barely any first party games of worth throughout the entire system's life, failed to attract third parties
>Pretty much ignored by sony except for the brief period where they tried to relaunch it as a PS4 portable (or streaming box in the case of the PSTV)
About the only reason the vita managed to hang on at all is because it did decently well in japan so there was always a trickle of weeb games coming out for it.
>Penis Enlargment on the sceSecurefuse
I don't have a gaymer PC but PS4 stream runs well in the night where nobody is using their cellphones or watching JewTube in my house, that with my shitty México internet.
Also read Moonlight runs better, watch a video about it, all of them can play like if it was native, maybe are fakes or they just do many tries until they have a good connection, but they run 1:1
Any PSP game or a specific one?
sup
I wish
KS would be great on any handheld.
>dekavita
Why am I just now finding out about this. its incredible
It's dead in the water last I checked.
You could make one with relative ease I would think.
This is probably the wrong place to ask.. What about games that arent avaialable on pkgj? I've noticed some psp games like Valk profile, and Metal Gear Acid aren't there. Any hints in where i could find them?
>dead in the water
NoPayStation aka NPS is also fastee than PSVita, also there are few blogs to download in MaiDump or PKG formats from Mega, but don't know how much gay your ISP is.
This*
Real gamer detected.
He shouldn't have announced that by the way, vita prices are insane on ebay right now.
The 3.70 hack should have waited until like 2020.
I love my vitas!
That's the most fuck ugly cat ever.
I'm just messing with you btw, I'd never insult a cat.
I'd hope nya-t.
Not much to play on this...
Yes now imagine there were games on this shit handheld.
What game?
Dumbass.
How do I know 3.70 hack isn't a dud and probably better to stay at 3.60?
Lads. The vita can, in theory, support an OpenMW port.
Ever since I was a young middle school goy I dreamed of playing morrowind on my GBA.
It's possible finally. inb4 le android shit.
I'm thinking of putting together a bounty for it, libretro style.
Would anyone be interested?
OpenMW still has pretty high cpu usage (more than original game) I believe.
I doubt it'd work out on vita without some serious optimizing.
You're right, but then again it would be running at a low resolution.
Honestly most of us who played at launch played at 20fps so I wouldn't even mind that much.
resolution is rarely the problem with those things
like emulation it also take shortcuts to make things work with normal morrowind assets and it's not in an efficient way
I still haven't hacked my Vita. I'm scared I'll fuck up and get banned or brick it.
>get an objectively worse version of the system because of the charger
That is actually fucking stupid.
bricking a vita is pretty hard given you're able to reset to factory settings
the hacks also don't modify the firmware itself, it just runs plugins. Firmware modifications (even when downgrading) are done with official sony-issued files.
If you're really worried about your account, you can always just use a different one. But currently there's no report of people being banned with a hacked vita unless they were literally cheating (trophies unlocking, cheats in online games, etc..)
If I was already hacked, will I be fine?
it's also just a fancy usb connector if anything, you could DIY one
not anything special that need some obscure charger, it still charges through usb
yes, nothing new to do
newer firmware is useless , this really just for those that were screwed and couldn't hack it
>The vita can, in theory, support an OpenMW port.
Don't see it happening honestly, the Vita doesn't have a CPU powerful enough to run such a game, at least not without hardware problems like serious overheating and eating away your battery at the same time.
Daggerfall is a much more realistic aim.
What about Switch? It could handle it, yeah?
is it worth it to pick up one of these and a 3ds in current year?
dude it would be running at like 800x600.
Fucking borderlands 2 ran on the vita.
If clock speed is the problem I'd take a N3DS port then.
OLED has image degradation and retention
Well, the Switch, as obsolete as it is, runs Skyrim.
You can't really make a comparison between the two, the Vita is 8 years old hardware that uses the equivalent of an I-Phone 3 CPU, in theory it MIGHT run Morrowind, if Bethesda or someone else actually ported to it, but as a garage project, I wouldn't really hold my breath.
As I said, Daggerfall would run pretty well on it all things considered, the PSP had amazing source ports for various things like Hexen or Quake, I reckon that with the same effort you could get a fairly good version of Daggerfall for the Vita.
There's zero reasons to get a 3DS nowadays, Citra is a thing and the original hardware has never been good, the Vita on the other hand has no emulator and offers better hardware quality and emulation capabilities than a 3DS, not to mention other things like streaming from your PS4/PC, and its own library, which Yea Forums memes and a few horrible ports aside, is pretty solid.
But still, if you're not poor it wouldn't hurt getting both at the end of the day.
A 3DS, absolutely (get a New version, XL or regular size doesn't matter really).
A Vita? Ehhh
3DS is worth it if you get a N3DS, I'd argue.
despite using my OG vita for something over 20k hours, screen is still entirely normal with no issues
while the problems do "exist", you'd have to be trying to trigger them intentionally for them to be an issue (unless you're using really ancient oled, which the vita isn't using), and in the end you just have a better screen that makes everything look better
>Fucking borderlands 2 ran on the vita.
Borderlands 2 barely "ran" on the vita, "running" is more a figure of speech than anything when it was subnative resolution, with muddy textures and barely 20 FPS on average.
Yes, they're both good handhelds, but I much prefer the Vita
Don't try to talk sense to them, they are clearly just pissy they had to settle for the shittier hardware revision.
Same. Citra, like most emulators, sucks ass. I have an i5-4670K and the MH games run like fuck
4670k is deprecated, also what's your GPU?
Correction: Vita is most certainly ancient OLED, it's 2010-2011 tech, ffs. Also I have screen burn in on my launch unit, and the screen is definitely worse than when I first got it.
The 2000's colors, while not as vibrant, are still very good, and at least for me it's more comfortable.
a HELL of a lot less deprecated than the 3DS. The thing literally runs Wii U games better than 3DS games; Citra sucks ass.
1070
>2010 is ancient
u wut mate, I was talking of far more earlier use which are what raised concerns (like on some phones)
and I don't know how you managed to get a burn-in, did you just leave it on the same screen for hours on
I played the thing for like 18 hours a day at times and there's nothing. Mine isn't the earliest model though, it's a 3G one I got from the PS+ bundle (don't need 3G but the bundle was amazing)
The problem with people that think their screen hasn't changed is that they probably just don't remember what it used to look like. But both versions have a nice screen, there's no reason to act like one's bad like there is with the 3DS (which is a shame since the 3DS is a far more worthwhile system)
>stole one from best buy years ago
>still works today
I'm still on 3.65. I still good for pirating?
The 3DS is only more worthwhile if you happen to like Nintendo's first party offering, outside of that and MH there's very little of value in the system, some genres are also almost nonexistent on it and pretty much all multiplats outside of some very rare case like Danball Senki are immensely better on Vita.
The only use my 3DS got outside of a bunch of 3DS games like Culdcept Revolution or MM4 was being a souped up DS, and mostly due to the fact that the Vita still doesn't have proper DS emulation.
3.65 is perfect, you can even get the permanent enso hack like on 3.60
you could downgrade to 3.60 if you wanted too but it's not necessary
Since you're exactly on 3.65, you won't even need to mess with the firmware at all (you need to be exactly on 3.60, 3.65, or 3.68)
>falling for the 64 gb meme
assuming you're not on cfw, just get a 16 gb one. the 64 GB ones are doomed to fail. 32 GB ones seem to fail a lot too, but not as often.
take a picture of the burn in
Yeah, I got enso installed. I was just wondering if I needed to upgrade to something higher to maintain maximum features.
I was on 3.60, but I went up to 3.65 because of games not working on 3.60.
morrowind is fine at 20fps
I just want to read all the lore and shit again like I did back then and I can't do it anymore.
I spend all day sitting at a computer at work, I'd love to be on the couch and play it.
oh ok, I got that what you meant wrong
3.60 will run 3.65 games actually, and yet newer firmwares, the reF00D plugin allows for that
so there should never a need to go above 3.60, unless sony introduces some new thing, but not like there's a lot of stuff being released on vita anymore
Yes, so was mine.
I downgraded since the guide said to. Is there literally no difference between both of the firmwares anymore?
He already has Enso, as evident in the picture he posted.
Good game but couldnt finish after a certain point.
A 64gb one failed once on me, after literal years I was more mad about it still being as expensive than the fact that it failed. Luckily now I don't even have to deal with it anymore
So is there any major differences between the fat and slim models?
I wanna get pic related.
Any new releases before the plug is pulled?
Slim has a different screen and an actual usb cable.
Romancing SaGa 3 and that's pretty much it I guess.
git gud?
slim: better face buttons, no weird connector for charging cable, also integrated 1GB of storage (mostly useful if you don't have a memory card and planning to hack it, "some" storage is needed to hack it and start using the adapter)
fat: much better screen (especially colors) and more seamless design make it feel less cheap
help a dude out. I shared an account with another person and the person changed his password so I can't login anymore. Any way to hack this thing? I think I'm on 3.68
Fuck you
Its not hard
In english? Or jap exclusive?
Supposedly, it will come out in English too.
3DS has Etrian Odyssey, which is something.
I never tired since I kept same account (on my 3.68), but I "think" it's possible. Resetting to factory settings should rid you of the account, and there's a DNS that makes the vita think it's up to date (just go check vita hacking guides for that).
Just worried about the initial sign in that Sony will probably want you to do. Not sure if that'll work on 3.68 without the vita being already hacked.
that’s what i did. downloaded the Locoroco Carnival demo since it’s free; should be good to go
It's a little embarrassing, I didn't have a smartphone when I first got my Vita so I used the web browser a bunch. The burn-in is from the Vita web browser UI.
The 1000 model OLED screen is real nice, best handheld screen I have ever seen, makes the Switch look like trash. I havent used a 2000, how does its screen hold up?
Also, a noob question, if I hack my Vita will I be able to use Playstation Network without getting banned or should I stay off? I'm assuming they'll require an update again at some point.
Do any anons have any experience with replacing screens on Vitas? The one I got for free has several scratches that bother me in certain games
like they did for the vita itself?
there's no guarantee you'll never be banned for it, but currently no one has been banned for that unless they were using it to cheat (sync'ing trophies you shouldn't have and cheating in online games is a generally bad idea)
when was this announced?
i remember hearing about this like over a year ago as a MAYBE for USA
The screen on the 2000 is fine, but the 1000 does look much nicer if you are directly comparing them, otherwise the 2000 shouldn't really bother you. Having a hacked vita won't get you banned unless you are blatantly using it to cheat in online games.
but that aside, sony will definitely know you hacked your vita
it's clear as day, they just don't do anything about it unless you're getting reported for things
>syncing trophies you don't have
ie, giving yourself trophies?
WHY THE FUCK IS NIS LOCALIZING UTAWARA FOR VITA BUT THEY SKIPPED REFRAIN EVEN THOUGH ITS ALREADY TRANSLATED
re
yes, or just trophies from games you don't own could be bad too, even if earned normally
just don't let it sync and everything's fine on that end (you can disable automatic sync, it also only happen if you have PS+ -- then just never open the trophy app)
if you have a pirated game and get trophies for it, you could get banned
I fucking love going away from the scene for a few months and then coming back and being able to trick my Vita into thinking it's a webcam
>tfw it even shows things like pic related on your friendlist but sony does nothing
Hmm. How does that work? Only if the game doesn't disable network connections?
Straight through the fucking USB port
github.com
Just put the skprx into your tai folder, add it to *KERNEL, reboot, and connect to USB.
If you want sounds sent to your computer, you'll need a male-to-male audio cable plugged from your Vita into your Line input on your motherboard and set your PC to listen to the line channel (mirror the audio)
Ah sick. Does it affect performance in games at all?
>The 3DS is only more worthwhile if you happen to like Nintendo's first party offering
I mean, the Vita has virtually nothing at all. Everything on it is just a shittier version of something you can play elsewhere. And since it's a Sony system, framerate isn't even given consideration so virtually nothing runs correctly on it.
not him and I didn't bother trying that, but I'm assuming it uses the vita's native video output rather than streaming, meaning it's not doing any encoding or garbage like that
it's something that always existed but sony didn't let us use
Why would you lie on the internet like that, user?
Where did Sony touch you?
The plugin uses the SceUdcd module of the PSVita OS to setup the necessary USB descriptors to simulate and behave as an USB Video Class device (like a webcam or an USB video capture card).
The hardware color space converter of the PSVita's SoC is used to perform the conversion to the destination pixel format; then the USB controller directly performs a DMA transfer from the physical address of the resulting converted framebuffer, and therefore, saving CPU usage and power consumption.
Short answer: Not really
I much prefer the design of the slim over the orig, the start, select and ps button on the slim are so easier to press
I love the orange vita slim, i got a blue one though
Why not both?
I still have my fat Vita that I bought on release. Feels good
my two biggest gripes with the slim model of course the display, the fat model has beautiful oled display, the moment i turned it on it was amazing, and that the analog sticks are very poor, i bought mine refurbished and my left analog stick started drifting after about 2 weeks, can be temporary solved by blowing into the gap of the stick. love everything else about the slim though
yes pls
Ahh... heaven
How do you even prevent that?
s-stop pirating games by using Sony's own bandwidth to download it, it's simply evil
actually, keep doing it
I don't even understand why this is a thing
remember they were storing passwords in plain text on ps3
in other words there's probably no security and it's just about knowing the download links, aka "security" through obscurity
Top fucking kek that's hilarious
Does for some games but barely noticeable.
