death mark just released on steam
Holy fuck this game is expensive. Isn't this game a vita port?
Death mark just released on steam
Self-Bump
Is the game good?
It's really good but the only uncensored version is the non updated version of the physical switch cart. Every other release has a cg censored
actually just checked the steam forum it is apparently uncensored on pc as well. This game is a vita port right?
I think so. It was on vita before switch and PS4. Wait if the price is high, it'll fall
Yes i was waiting for this
if its on steam its shit
t.Chink
Watch this on youtube like a movie/tv show
Not worth wasting money
The sequel is better, but EOPs are never going to get it so you might as well just play this one.
Then you don't get to pick the fun options, though. At least pirate it, this isn't a walking sim.
there are no fun options in this game though
its not like the walking dead games or tales from the borderlands ( even though it all leads to the same ending)
What is the jap fetish for timed curses? Is something all evil spirits\folklore shits do? Do they just fucking love being punctual?
the doll is the one thats causing the curse.
the main character is the brother of the owner of the mansion who died.
The people who play cringe garbage like this are the same ones crying about Sekiro easy mode, right?
Is one of those visual novels that looks like it would have porn but sadly doesn't?
Imagine not being able to enjoy spooky story games AND games with actual gameplay.
It's got some underwear, at least. I don't know why people want outright porn, it's always just to mask low quality material.
Pass the age of 18 please
Absolutely based, thanks for helping me decide not to purchase
Mods you can close the thread now
>its not like the walking dead games or tales from the borderlands
Thank fuck for that, I think I'd kill myself if VNs had as little player interaction as a fucking Telltale turd.
Sekiro is a meh game whose only "reedeming" feature is the high difficulty
Neat. I was looking for a mystery VN and was eyeballing Danganronpa and Kara no Shoujo. This looked cool too.
I finished Serkiro, now I want something with zero difficulty.
>the only uncensored version is the non updated version of the physical switch cart
Are there updated versions of the physical Switch cart? I never dared to purchase the game because I heard conflicting reports about its censorship.
Europe by the way, if it matters.
>was eyeballing Danganronpa and Kara no Shoujo
Danganronpa is garbage for tumblr whales, just ignore it.
Kara no Shoujo is good, and this game is pretty reminiscent of it, but way, way less edgy.
>Sekiro is a meh game
>enjoys "playing" virtual novels
don't reply to me again
Visual Novels at least have good music,Sekiro fails even in that department.
Don't listen to the other newfag nigger, play Danganronpa but avoid getting spoiled.
>I don't know why people want outright porn, it's always just to mask low quality material.
From my experience it's more of a bell curve. Shit vns will go to porn to mask their shittyness but great vns will also use porn to further explore characters/the plot/the main themes of the vn.
From my point of view if your vn is already adult I see no reason to not throw it in if it makes sense within the story.
seems to me you're the underage because you waste money visual novels instead of buying something like devil may cry 5 , sekiro or putting the money away for emergencies
>Pick Option 1 or Option 2
>Player Interaction
Holy shit VNfags are literally retarded.
Again pass the age of 18 or stop posting, anyway i don't spend money on games anymore since i'm cool with just playing retro stuff.
Thanks for proving my point, sperg.
Not sure why you said 'again' since that was my first post in the thread. Not that a 'tard like you would know how to read the poster counter.
I've played dozens of VNs and I can think of only one that has any meaningful sex scene, Muv-Luv.
They don't add anything. If I want to jerk off, I'll go find a doujin, or play an actual nukige that's 10% plot and 90% sex. Most of the time I just skip right through sex scenes, because they're vanilla as shit and only really there because the market demands them.
Do you believe that nukiges can't have a good story or characters? Why separate them in their on category of vns?
in the mood for a vn. should I start this or Fata Morgana?
>play telltale trash
>pick option a or option b
>always get the exact same railroad back to an identical situation
>play a VN
>pick option A
>get a 10 hour route for a character
>pick option B
>get another 10 hour route for a different character
Or, in the case of this game:
>pick option A
>exorcise the spooky ghost, everyone has a good time
>pick options B through Z
>destroy the spooky ghost, your buddies start dying from lingering hatred
Choice without consequence is meaningless.
They can, but it's rare. I'd never consider a nukige a kamige, for example, they can absolutely be entertaining but there's definitely a limit to how high you can really go while still maintaining a high level of sexual content.
It doesn't help that you have to stop playing every 10 minutes because your dick is tired, too.
I don't see "how high a game can go" and pornography as mutually exclusive or inversely proportional. I would definitely consider Euphoria kamige in what it does and how it goes about doing it with sexual themes at it's core (and great fap material to boot) and while I've stopped considering it great since I grew up from being 16 you can't deny the impact and audience Fate has cultivated, all starting from a single vn that did feature multiple pornographic scenes.
>It doesn't help that you have to stop playing every 10 minutes because your dick is tired, too.
Well firstly for me personally that's less of an issue since I can go 4-5 times in row (but I hardly need to since most vns that have porn either space it across the vn or not all the scenes that come up are to my taste for a variety of reasons) and secondly you don't have to fap to every scene.
Doubt it. Can't imagine the print run was big for this title.
Fate is hardly a nukige though. It's 98% plot, with some very tame sex scenes, and though they do have some story merit, you could easily cut them as in Realta Nua and not really miss much.
>still calling Merry "Mary"
American translators, not even once.
You are the one that inserted nukiges exclusively as vns with porn, I never made the distinction nor do I think there should be one.
If you don't even know what the term means, why use it?
If a term doesn't apply to the discussion at hand, why use it?
>and though they do have some story merit, you could easily cut them as in Realta Nua and not really miss much.
The one thing that Realta Nua misses with it's cuts is Sakura being raped by Shinji. It's useful in understanding her reasons for being extremely dependent and desiring intimacy with Shirou. I don't think physical abuse, even as severe as it is, is motivation enough for her to lose her shit.
>kara no shoujo is good
>danganronpa is bad
This user is baiting HARD
answer me you fucking weebs
I first used it as an example of the counterpart to eroge. You're the one who kept bringing it up.
I think eroge are good in spite of the porn, honestly. I like that it exists, but I respect companies like Key who try to make serious pure love games without the obvious boost that porn adds. There are plenty of games where it feels tacked on because the developer obviously feels like the game isn't good enough to sell without a sexual element, and because it's expected from PC games.
Sex scenes in eroge are like a 5 minute sex scene in the middle of an action movie. Maybe some people enjoy that shit, but honestly, it's a lot more classy to just have a fade to black and maybe show a nipple or two.
>Choice without consequence is meaningless.
What consequence? The consequence for choosing option A in a visual novel is...getting different walls of text than you would have gotten if you had choosen option B. Sure, it's technically different, but it hardly feels meaningful compared to other genres of games where not only the dialogue, but the gameplay itself can change depending on your choices.
Telltale games are trash, but visual novels are hardly any better
There's a sequel already?
>but it hardly feels meaningful compared to other genres of games where not only the dialogue, but the gameplay itself can change depending on your choices.
What fucking games are there where this shit actually changes, though? The path through which you experience a story has a significant effect on the journey, while everyone might reach the same end in 999 eventually, people are going to have very different paths to get there, and some people might entirely miss out on certain endings.
House in Fata Morgana is very good and probably more lighthearted than this.
Fuck you. Tellshit ""games"" don't have anywhere near the writing and art quality the best VNs have. VNs get a pass on their lack of gameplay because 1) they DON'T PRETEND TO BE GAMES OR CINEMATICS and 2) they're actually worth reading and their art worth to look at.
Already? I mean, it came out last year, Death Mark was a 2017 title, NG was 2018.
I find that having ero scenes with characters you have spend 10/15/20 hours developing and understanding is a lot more erotic and interesting to the player even if the pornographic material itself is vanilla or boring.
It's like how many people will look up doujins/r34 of characters of an anime or manga or vn they just finished but instead in the vn itself in a canon format that can be used to further develop characters AND get the player off. Win win
>games made in a year
Yikes. I'm sure it's good because Experience are based but damn.
I thought NG wasn't related to DM
They're short titles, which is nice because they don't have the 20 hours of fucking padding a lot of VNs wind up with.
Technically the games are unrelated, but there are lots of callbacks to Death Mark, and if you get the worst ending then Yashiki shows up to kick your shit in after you go nuts and murder your family.
>What fucking games are there where this shit actually changes, though?
Literally any game with a modicum of freedom. For example, there are RPGs where party members can leave you depending on your choices, or have conflicts with party members that lead to duels to the death, making you permanently lose these party members and their abilities. There are games where you can stumble upon an invisibility spell or disguise early on that let you sneak into areas that would otherwise have been inaccessible, opening up a different path through the game. And this isn't even getting into genres that are completely freeform, like strategy games or simulators.
What bizarro world do you live in that you think visual novels can offer more different playthroughs than other genres of games?
The most perplexing thing about your statement is shitting on Telltale games (rightfully so, since they are shit) while championing visual novels, when Telltale games are nothing more than visual novels with higher production values and godawful QTE sequences.
I'm not necessarily looking for lighthearted just which is better. the last one I played was very lighthearted, loliwitch romanesque or something like that and I enjoyed it very much
I haven't played the game in the OP but HiFM is really well made and i don't even like love stories.
>Fuck you. Tellshit ""games"" don't have anywhere near the writing and art quality the best VNs have. VNs get a pass on their lack of gameplay because 1) they DON'T PRETEND TO BE GAMES OR CINEMATICS and 2) they're actually worth reading and their art worth to look at.
>bottom-tier anime tropes
>writing quality, worth reading
Visual novels have notably worse writing than other video games, much less actual literature. Wake me up when there's a visual novel with writing remotely on par with something like Alpha Centauri, King of Dragon Pass or Planescape: Torment. Not only do those games have much better writing, but they actually integrate the story with gameplay mechanics, something completely absent from VN's.
Where are all these supposedly amazingly written VN's? Because my (albeit limited) experience with the genre is that tend to suffer from the same issues as your typical anime/jrpg: massive tonal inconsistency, needlessly convoluted plotting, characters drawn in the broadest anime archetypes, etc.
>when Telltale games are nothing more than visual novels with higher production values and godawful QTE sequences.
No, they aren't. Telltale games are pure illusion of choice, VNs are a reasonable level of choice that actually makes an impact on the story.
In Telltale shit, you get something that seems like a really important choice that will define your character, but it's just a throwaway line that's never mentioned again, or a character will bring it up later but actually it's just a toggle between a "I can't believe you did/didn't do that thing!" line.
In a VN, you're given similar dumb choices that don't matter, but nobody thinks that choosing chicken instead of tuna is going to make a major impact on the game. It's not an illusion of choice, because you aren't under any illusions.
>Visual novels have notably worse writing than other video games
Pfffffff
Not whoever you are replying to but what VNs did you play?
You're retarded. Bad VNs and great VNs exist just like bad books and great books exist.
Deep down you know this. Cope harder.
give me a good mature Vn without anime stuff in it
