Joel’s character is legitimately the only interesting thing about TLOU’s plot. I’ve never actually seen a character as well portrayed as Joel, he’s genuinely a deep fucking character but he’s the only one. Without him there is -nothing- elevating the generic plot. Ellie herself was pretty boring, it’s Joel’s outright psychotic fixation on moving forward and how it contrasts with his humanity and the depraved lengths he’ll go to ensure his own selfish satisfaction while still somehow being the most likable character in the game that made TLOU awesome.

It's actually a decent game, especially on Grounded difficulty. But the gameplay does have flaws. My biggest issues were
>Extreme rubber banding in SP, if you were careful and took out enemies without using ammo you would sometimes literally get zero ammo from half a dozen armed hunters, if you were wasteful you would be showered in ammo
>No infected/human enemy interaction of any significance in the main game
>Ladder carrying and other "puzzles" were boring, lazy and pointless
>Walking sequences were boring, tedious, and the LOUD TALKING AND YELLING during them completely broke immersion for me, just have a fucking short cutscene
>NPCs were pointless, should have been more vulnerable with a command function
>Penny pinching DLC/Grounded mode I the original release
