No, I'm not a shill. I don't even own an Epic account and I game on steam with over 70 games I bought on it. I'm anti steam because it's a monopoly. it choked small launchers like GoG which just discontinued fair pricing because it can't compete anymore with steam.
Steam takes a fucking THIRD of sales. not only that, steam is full of garbage asset flips wich Valve don't mind having in their store. They don't even want to take care of that problem that they came up with "curators".
Valve has gotten so lazy a new competitor like Epic is going to get them off their asses and fix their shit.
I'm not the only one. There are millions of us out there who share this sentiment against Valve and steam and we will keep advocating against them until they get their shit together.

no

>No, I'm not a shill.
Actual people don't need to prefix their thoughts with this statement. You don't understand what the word monopoly means. You don't understand what the word competition means. Steam isn't perfect, but what Epic is doing isn't going to fix Steam. It's just putting pressure on Steam to make things even worse for customers by compelling them to engage in the same business practices. So fuck you, retard. Don't bump shill threads.

> muh monopoly
> muh competition
> muh Pcbros
The holy trinity of Epic shilling

>I'm not a shill
Sure thing, tranny.

Tell me how much is GoG market share compared with steam?
Tell me why is GoG struggling despite being the most consumer friendly?

>GoG
It's GOG nigga

so... what's wrong with the steam store compared to other stores?

Why are you suddenly oblivious to the existence of Epic Games? For better or worse, they're a far more significant competitor than GOG. You're not going to win this argument by cherry-picking.

Steam is, by definition, not a monopoly.

Steam is not a monopoly you fucking retard. Humble and some retailers may keygen steam codes. Do your research and attack an ACTUAL monopoly. you know, youjew and the corrupt conglomerate known as google.

>In the past, we were able to cover these extra costs from our cut and still turn a small profit. Unfortunately, this is not the case anymore. With an increasing share paid to developers, our cut gets smaller. However, we look at it, at the end of the day we are a store and need to make sure we sell games without a loss.
epic store caused this. fuck epic and fuck tencent

>which just discontinued fair pricing because it can't compete anymore with steam
no you fucking retard, that has nothing to do with steam.

Less features, smaller selection of games, and no one actually gives a shit about muh DRM other than schizophrenics.

it is. Why do so many people prefer Steam than any other platform? It's a monopoly so shut the fuck up and die

Guys, which Torrent client do you guys suggest? My unupdated utorrent works fine but I got told to upgrade. Yeah, to what?

That's not what constitutes a monopoly. Being good at your fucking job doesn't mean you have a monopoly.

Valve pockets 30% of every game sold on steam.
Steam is full of shitty Unity asset flips

Why is Yea Forums suddenly defending STEAM so strongly now? it is full of problems they don't need to fix because there is no real competition.
Sure we have GOG, Origin, Uplay and whatever but none of them had the means or the guts to actually stand up against STEAM and get exclusives that weren't first party. I'm here hoping that epic will at least force STEAM to make some changes.

On the customer side, just the fact that steamworks drm is a thing and that it’s hard to explore for hidden gems because of how much shit’s snuck onto the platform, plus they’re inconsistent with what games they sell.
Note that precisely zero of these problems have been remedied by anything the EGS does

It was always dumb anyway, and clearly fundamentally unscalable: the more it was used, the more money they lost, and through zero fault of their own (like what the fuck, GOG has nothing to do with international exchange rates, tax regimes, or what copyright holders do for region pricing or anything fucking else). It was basically a marketing thing tried when they were really scrabbling for traction. Of course it had to end unless devs/publishers wanted to take it on (they don't).

>choked small launchers like GoG
GOG are doing just fine you nigger
I recently bought diablo and warcraft

Nobody is defending Steam. Everyone is attacking Epic. There's an enormous gulf of a difference but the shills are doing their best to turn this into Steam vs Epic instead of what it actually is; customers vs Epic.

>No, I'm not a shill
>it's a monopoly
That's just the first line, Jesus user be a little more subtle with your bait

Suits don't believe in anti-DRM storefronts, thus they get shafted on AAA releases. Now they get a double whammy by not being able to sell indies that got caught in the crossfire between Epic and Steam, like the loss of Phoenix Point

>its popular so it's a monopoly
Please shut up and die.

Please tell me what changes.

Let me guess ist something that hurt the customer

>it choked GOG
stopped reading right there
GOG didnt do anything to improve their platform
oh and your definitely a shill

>Valve pockets 30% of every game sold on steam.
>Steam is full of shitty Unity asset flips
Every fucking retail takes 30% It's the standard
Who cares about Unity asset flips. Who the actual fuck buys those shitty games? This shit is beyond me

20% got updated. Fails Game store is 12. Valve offers you services such as MP servers, failgames doesn't. There is no reason to not pick steam unless you want me to pirate you.

>Why do so many people prefer Steam than any other platform?
Being the most popular isn't what "monopoly" means, you fucking retard. It means exclusive ownership. There are other stores, and therefore Steam is not a monopoly.
>It's a monopoly so shut the fuck up and die
lol. There's no need to cry about being wrong.

This wont encourage valve to improve when an inferior store is buying up exclusives instead of attempting to innovate. Ths only lesson valve could possibly learn is to start buying up exclusives.
