It's... alright, I guess. I still prefer the gameplay of the original, but playing Final Remix with the co-op system on your own, with one hand controlling Neku and the other the partner is a *close enough* approximation of the DS version... even if it ends up a lot easier than the original with the partner being immune to damage and synced combos stunlocking quite a few enemies. Playing it definitely scratched that itch of wanting to experience TWEWY again.

Pretty much sums up how I felt. After going back to the DS version, it's so damn obvious how toned down the fights were without having to split your focus for incoming attacks on both screens. Was sweet having the remixes play on the Switch version though.
I'm mostly curious to see how the KH shit plays out, I'd like to see the Reapers interacting with Sora. I've all but come to terms with not having a sequel done properly though.

It was an utter fucking trainwreck and arguably an even bigger blight upon Front Mission than Evolved. Development was farmed out to two different gacha game companies, and that alone is a huge red flag. I'd go into detail but there's too much to list. Just look up almost any non-trailer video of it and you'll immediately see that something is wrong.

It's a genuinely painful game because while there are good ideas here and there, it's terribly executed and it all feels half-baked. The stealth is inconsistent, everything is a bullet sponge (especially the bosses), tanks and cars just flat-out disappear when they explode instead of leaving a wreck, and the camera in the rare Wanzer section is borderline unusable since your mech will be blocking the crosshair 90% of the time. The AI is fucking horrendous in general, too, and not in the MGS1 guard way. It doesn't react to things it's supposed to, everyone tends to move in perfect sync which looks weird as fuck, and it does some really dumb shit in fights. It's still tricky though since they're all massive damage sponges and shotguns can stunlock you like in MGS3's multiplayer.
Also you get a robot blaring CAUTION: THE ENEMY IS APPROACHING in your ear nonstop every time you're anywhere close to a guard regardless of them actually approaching you or not, with no way to turn it off short of muting the game.

Plays like total ass. It's the worst and most unresponsive controls I've ever come across in a console game. They must have realized this themselves as they included an option to go easy mode at any time. I loved the DS game back in the day, so i'm very disappointed they butchered it. But what can you do? The thing I'm worried about with the whole KH thing is the we'll never get a proper sequel. And the absolute WORST feel is that no proper sequel means no proper new soundtrack. Sure, we'll always have new Twister remixes, but as long as TWEWY is only a tie-in and not a brand new story means we'll never get a fully new and realized soundtrack.
Granted, after the Kingdom Mix of Twister, I am glad that the KH team gets some more to work with. Hopefully more god-tier songs come from them.
Also, they better not waste the god-tier potential of Neku and Minamimoto as partners[/spoilers] in the KH spinoff. That would be a damn shame.
