Tournament wise is dying tho because the pros don't want to play it anymore. Outside of ChrisG, Go1, Dogura and Kazunoko pretty much everyone else has moved on. Even SonicFox at this point hasn't played it in months. He's probably only gonna play it at Evo and then focus only on MK11 since that'll be the new flavor of the month for him.

Depends on what you mean as dead. It's as dead as every fighting game after 6 months. On PS4 you can get matches pretty much non-stop, even at higher BP. And it's the most popular Dragon Ball game currently which is pretty impressive considering it's a 2D fighting game.

ultimately it comes down to this. I'm a GG player and Accent Core XX is one of my favorite games ever. DBFZ is basically my dream Dragonball game and yes it got dumbed down for casuals but its still a high quality fighting game.

People just mad that even though it got dumbed down for them they still can't compete. If there is one thing I have learned over my two decades of playing fighting games it is that people for the most part cannot handle losing and improving from losing. It's why team based games tend to be more popular, they want to blame others for the loss when they lose.

In fighting games its just you baby. You're the reason you lost. And accepting that is a hard pill to swallow for most.

Isn't the problem that you can also confirm off autocombos using assists and super dashes? The existence of an autocombo in a fighting game is never necessarily bad but they usually make it so its a basic and short combo that ends your turn

You can but its still not going to win you games against a good player. With auto combos you know exactly where to block if you know the characters so its your fault if you let them confirm.

The latest patch did a lot for the game and reignited interest heavily. I imagine Goku GT's release will also bump the game up. However, it is a fighting game, which means it will wax and wane as new things come out / pot bonuses shift (pros gotta chase dat money).

For what it's worth, it's an excellent game with extreme depth, but also an easy entry curve. It's the one anime game that got anime fighting right, and the fact that it exists gives me great hope for the future of fightan.

Oh yeah, and I'm in Southwest US and on PC, and I get games constantly at any time, typically.

64 and Melee were happy accidents if that makes sense. It wasn't intended but there is a lot of depth and fun to be had for a competitive mind with these games.

Brawl and Smash Wii U scaled that back quite a bit because Sakurai really hadn't intended for it, but with Ultimate the development team seems to have tried to meet competitive minds halfway if that makes sense.

Try not to take the shitposting to heart. Competitive Smash is fun and hype as fuck at its best. It's also extremely stupid at its worst. Personally i love competitive Smash and I play a shit ton of other Fighting games. It's just different and that is why its so polarizing.

They nerfed damage on many combos that let a character hit multiple supers in a row without swapping out like Bardok or Tien. Generall the second (repeat) super will be heavily nerfed in damage. This is not the case for all instance where a character can double super. For instance, I think Videl can do her level 1 into her level 3 without the stiff damage penalty.
