The absolute state of Super Smash Bros. Melee fans
That was actually a pretty funny reply
Took long enough for them to realize that melee is trash.
It’s called a vocal (and autistic) minority
based
HAHAHAH MELEEGROES IN RUINS
Legit choked on my drink, that was a solid riposte.
I THINK MELEE SUCKS
that was pretty good
OP is slightly less of a fag than average.
OH NO NO NO NO BROS WHAT DO WE DO? SHOWER?
heh
Wow
Bugs?
absolutely BASED samsho dabbing all over the stinky game.
lol
That was clean.
Fucking destroyed. Press S to shower on meleefags.
Unlike Meleefags
Unlike Melee players.
HIVEMIND
>pfft, at least us melee players aren't a hivemind like you guys.
>now if you'll excuse us, we're busy banning jigglypuff, wobbling, and anything else that isn't "fox only, final destination" because our e-celeb "gods" told us to.
Hey Melee fans, I hear the Yu-Gi-Oh community has like-minded folks.
twitter.com
Does this shit happen in any other fighting game? Where they set rules that ban certain moves or strategies? This just makes me think the game isn’t tournament worthy if you have to add a bunch of extra rules to make if “fair”.
MELEE BTFO
Maybe a character ban, but thats all.
it used to happen in fighting games a lot but since games can be patched now it doesn't happen anymore
That was pretty funny. Then again, I'm a sucker for puns.
you think a minecraft based smash brother clone could work?
kek
why dont smash fags go to their exclusive tournaments you ar enot a real fighting game we dont need you and certainly you dont need us , i still remember when evo wasnt infested with smash shit so please go back to your exclusive tourneys do us a favor
In the early days it had to happen because people were either playing on arcades or playing at a time when fighting games came out with overpowered mechanics all over the place. Some let it be and just played the game as is but some places would give rules for competitions to make it a little more fair. Nowadays it really doesn't happen because a traditional fighting game comes out balanced enough
LMAO FUCKING DESTROYED
Meleefags BTFO
>Day Of The Soap
More like Samurai showerdown
>it’s a smasher bitches that EVO doesn’t give Smash Bo5 top 8/16/32/64 like the smash majors do because smashers use a decade+ old ruleset with 8 minute timers episode.
God I hate reruns, when will smashers realize their rulesets imposed by themselves only work at smash majors where only like 2 games matter.
It usually doesn't happen in fighting games, because they are designed for tournaments. Smash was designed as a party game.
What is mvc2 third strike, alpha 2
It happened ONCE with sf2 with akuma
>skull servant
the day of the soap comes for all.
comicbook.com
>It used to happen in the old games
>BUT WHAT ABOUT THESE OLD GAMES HAHA CHECKMATE LOSERS
Happens all the time. Custom moves and character creation stuff is always banned, and tournaments often default to the training mode stage because others are too distracting.
it happened with soul calibur 4 as well
algol was banned and I am pretty sure hilda was soft banned, or they banned 4wall stages so she couldn't have an extremely bullshit advantage
>because others are too distracting
more like the underpowered console hardware drops frames on other stages
That is not the same you idiot. Of course custom characters are banned, do you expect every person at evo to create/download his own character real quick before the match? How would they manage that?
As a huge YuGiOhfag that used to go to tournaments all the time this is fine. YuGiOh is a lesser card game, so more space is given to stuff like MTG. Stuffing a bunch of fat nerds in the corner makes them sweat, which makes them stink, and the ones that aren't fat are normally smelling like smoke and weed.
TL;DR take a fucking shower before going out at all.
Good response. I’m a huge meleefag but I wish people would mellow out over evo, it’s reasonable to not want to deal with a ton of crts.
What got banned in mvc2? I’ve barely played it but the competitive scene is even more unbalanced than melee is. What gets banned from that environment?
Reminder that jigglypuff and wobbling aren’t banned. Scrubs might talk that shit but jigglypuff isn’t going anywhere. Wobbling I could see banned but hopefully it sticks around cause that’s basically be a softban on ICs.
That sounds dangerously like making arbitrary rules user. If someone wants to play as a tiny Astaroth in tournament they should be able to, right?
It happened because akuma was not balanced he was a bonus boss character added to the consoles versions
Algol was stated to be broken again because the devs wanted a boss type character hilda was never banned banned
The only thing that was banned in any Smash game was Bayonetta in 4 and only in certain countries for a limited time. The only reason Meleefags always use the same four or three characters is because the game has been played for so long, all the strategies have been refined to absolute hyper-autistic levels and anything else is all but worthless.
fucking destroyed
No I am saying people saying “melee band characters because that is how you did it back then”
When every other fucking game refused to ban characters besides akuma in sf2 because he was extremely broken and was never intended by capcom to be balanced they made him broken on purpose so any melee fag saying banning things is normal are retarded the most other games ever did was have low tier only tournaments
The old rules used to be more "soft banned unless retardedly OP" on certain characters or techniques during tournaments. Original Sagat and Akuma are soft banned in SSFT2 because they can take half a life bar off stupidly safe attacks. If you play Jojo, Petshop is a hard or soft ban depending on the tournament (Mostly hard). Iron Man's infinite in MvC2 was banned because it was so slow as the damage scaling kicked in that it would timer scam so you are only allowed a certain amount of loops before a reset. Iron Man isn't banned in MvC2 because he's fucking awful in that game and only really has that infinite. But that's the logic in most fighting games. Unless it's obscenely OP or designed to Timer Scam. It's mostly soft banned unless it has to be hard banned.
It's also one of the reasons everyone is giving the melee community shit because there's now a character completely based on timer scamming on 8 minute Bof5 matches and they can't ban it because they have banned nearly everything else.
Hilda was soft banned but most tournaments allowed her. Lead to an amazing finals in SC IV in 2009 because the top Hilde players lost to Cassandra and Ivy players who were good but not considered top tier..
That is not a rule. It is just impossible to do.
Hilde was OP?
Now I kinda feel bad for playing her against my brother
>people use a popular joke
>hivemind!
How does it feel to be that pathedic.
That's what they did for Soku at EVO Japan. Every player submitted his custom deck and some latecomers had to build theirs live on stream.
she was only op because of some dog shit ringout combo you probably didn't know how to do
yes it is a minority which is why EVO viewership peaks whenever melee is on
>pathedic
DAY OF THE SOAP WHEN?
They're probably testing this year if majority of that audience will just watch Ultimate.
so? meleefags don't watch other games and, even more damning, they don't enter other games either. the overall hassle that comes with melee isn't worth a few more twitch viewers on one game.
>The only thing that was banned in any Smash game was Bayonetta in 4
k.
literally doesnt matter if melee isnt actually bringing in money or sponsorships
OH NONONONNONO HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
anime virus BTFO!!!
>fgcucks being corporate and only caring about the money and profit
