I haven't read the manga but the way they pace the Claw plots in the anime is really bad. Last few episodes of both seasons suddenly introduce like a hundred random characters with OC donut steel designs who are immediately trivialized by Mob. There's no stakes to anything and most of the "pay-offs" are unearned. You're basically watching for the animation.

I really enjoyed Mob, but I think it has a big problem of there being almost no repercussions for anything. Like when Mob was about to blow the fuck up when he thought his parents/brother got burned to death. I was legitimately excited because it seemed like the story was going to go somewhere other than "Mob+friends have funny adventure and Mob saves the day," but then "IT WAS A PRANK BRO." I get it's supposed to be lighthearted, but letting something like that actually stand would have been a monumental change of pace and actually interesting.

honestly its better than OPM although the animation isn't QUITE as good as the first season, though its still top notch
the art style was really off putting for me at first but it definitely grows on you

haven't seen OPM but it Mob Psycho switched between being serious and being lighthearted and funny constantly. It's way better at being funny.

The voice lines are literally called Caine_CabDriver and if you play Malk your PC gets intensely uncomfortable around him. Basically in WoD lore him showing up is a sign of the end times where all the really old vampires will wake up and eat everyone including all other vampires.

Mob is different compared to OPM. It has a story and while the protagonist is pretty much the same in terms of powers, its handled in a different way. There is also a better focus on side characters and such.

Mob's storytelling is still tight with or without the spectacle. You may call it rote when it gets more action oriented but it still delivers proper emotional payoffs and never loses sight of its themes which remain coherent throughout. People try way too hard to find things to dislike about the show. Mob doesn't try to copy shounen, it just is shounen. Themes of humility and gratitude just make it stand a bit.
