Playing it once or twice before understanding is pretty common. it took me about 15 hours to really get it.
The skill curve is pretty steep and it gets far more fun once you've leveled up legs and bought some abilities.

It's supposed to be Warhammer 40,000 but the devs didn't have permission to make a game with that IP so they just made a half-assed Chinese bootleg where everything is renamed. The lore is literally all 40k lore but with some vocabulary shifted around.

The developers, a French studio called Streum On, later went on to develop this licensed 40k game and it's garbage. I wanted to like it but nah.

I could write an essay about this but no, from the ten or so hours I played, literally all the lore from the terminals I read had a parallel in 40k, though admittedly a lot of it was pretty obscure shit even going back to the 90s, so you have to have a pretty high 40k power level to get a lot of this stuff since half of it's shit GW doesn't even acknowledge anymore. But it is a pure Warhammer 40,0000 facsimile, almost to a plagiaristic degree.

Just research everything you can, replay missions a few times to get used to the combat and try out new systems and weapons, kill hordes of enemies make money level your stats buy new weapons powers and cybernetics, and go through ng+ like 50 times to become the strongest and fastest boy of all time
And whatever you do, Dont jump into bottomless ptis. When you die theres a chance to give you a stat penalty that you have to grind for a while to get rid of, And bottomless pits guarantee you'll get one

This user lies, it's a well known fact that the best way to gain brouzoufs involves a glitch triggered only by jumping into bottomless pits. If you time your jumps correctly (you'll have to practice a lot) then the bounty brouzoufs gained by other players will magically appear in your cyber bank account. Dude, trust me.

Just go fast. The benefits you get from hacking are pathetic, when you have a bear gun and can blow everything away with teleporting mind magic.

Hacking is supplementary at best and incapable of carrying you on it's own, or even as a secondary option. It's nice to have at a decent level when you need it, but don't invest too much into it.
Guns are the best thing in the game, though, given that it's pretty much a massive slaughterfest from start to finish.

The game is very obviously flawed in many ways. But Yea Forums loves lore, and it is still pretty playable despite the rather poor level design (what's with all the huge, empty expanses, goddamn).

If they had a more focused approach without fucking werewolves and undead kings, maybe scatter a handful more objectives to find in maps, I'd have loved it more.

I went the hacking route too. It's quaint to be able to recruit turrets to your side, but it's so goddamn tedious when you could just put a single bearkiller round into them and be done with it.

It's built that way intentionally for maximum LEG room. Max out your legs and the levels will be too small for you.

Some people drop it early, but if you get past any bad impressions, it grows on you.

It's one of those games that requires a somewhat morbid appreciation for eurojank, which for non yuros is kind of hard to have.

Some flying metastreumon would break the monotony, so I'd go with that first of all, outside of helis and turrets everything in this game is ground based.
Metastreums are implied to be some kind of Solaris-like entities that are shaped by the minds of those who encounter them, that explains things like synicles and the spirit wolf.

Maybe something like Ungoliant. The key is to make shit that should just look scary and/or unnerving.
