A decade ago was when publishers largely considered the PC a 'dead' platform and put out a lot of console exclusives. Total number of Steam users was under something like 5 million daily users and around 2009 there weren't any other relevant PC platforms to buy games form and physical had largely disappeared well before that point

Only true answer here: I only use my xbone for YouTube and netflix. All games are obsolete now thanks to having it all on the PC anyway.

PC's are dying pretty bad they have simply become far too expensive. ram prices are out of control dude to korean pricefixing schemes and as a result GPU's have increased in price by a massive amount. the PC computer industry is in a deathspiral most people still have computers they built 5 or more years ago because that was the last time prices where reasonable, and effectively no one younger is entering the market.
