the heal spell is a constant mechanic to make up for the fact that you will get hit while you git gud, and even after you git gud as the game throws new combinations of encounters and environments at you
You shouldnt feel bad about using it, it's a mechanic, not a crutch
even at the end of the game, heal/focus tends to be most of what you use your soul on

If you know you're gonna be spamming heal a lot during a fight then take advantage of that with charms like the spore shroom or a soul catcher.
Defensive builds work too in this game, just not as well as if you get gud and glass cannon the shit out of everything.

I really like how healing works in this game as it does indeed help you “get gud”. It helps you recover from boss attacks you’re unfamiliar with and as such couldn’t avoid, is recharged as you hit the enemy (so rewarding you for getting gud), and the long time it takes to cast means you have to be familiar with boss attacks to know when it’s safe to use

Narrative-wise, I would add different dialogue choices and the chance to spare certain enemies of importance. Of course, all of this would have an important impact on the story's conclusion, which would lead to many different possibilities for an ending.

I really liked how there's no "true ending" for the first game, so since we now have Hornet as our main character I hope there will be more liberties when interacting with the world.

People have speculated it's the Collector because he also lives in a tower in the City of Tears, but it's really just an assumption without even the slightest bit of proof behind it. I think it's fairly safe to say it'd be a character associated with the City of Tears, which makes Marissa, Emilitia and the Collector the best bets. The first two are backer characters though, so maybe not.

The symbol of the Wyrm can be found within various seals. Pic related is the seal over the King's Mark in the Cast-Off shell for example, you can see it smushed together at the top. The same symbol is used in the Abyss door () and Black Egg Temple seals. At Hallownest Crown () you can see two giant tablets, representing the Wyrm and the Radiance. The seal over the Black Egg Temple () has the Radiance symbol conceiled within the mask of the Hollow Knight, contained from above by the Wyrm symbol. It's very neat and visually coherent. Shame that most players won't ever even notice the seals over the Abyss door or the White Lady, because you have to use spells for them to become visible.
