If you want to go that route, Slugcat is effectively stuck in an eternal loop of Buddhist hell (which is the in-lore explanation for respawning) so it's never going to end, and if I recall HK has some in-universe explanation for respawn too.

At a certain point, it feels like the puzzles were made by the devs when they were randomly pushing blocks around to see what happens, which means you have to do a lot of trial and error to solve certain puzzles.
I'm ambivalent about it, but I don't regret buying it.
