I honestly want a DmC 2 before a DMC6. I might be one of the only ones who actually enjoys the story in that game. The level design was off the charts, a lot of variation with how limbo distorted the area you were in. Whereas DMC5 has two, the city and the fucking Qliohoth tree shit.

I also enjoyed how the platforming broke up the combat every now and then.

Cerb is easy as fuck in BP. V's BP is easy as fuck in general, I finished it with 2 hours bonus time.

Nero I got to floor 100 first try and died to tracking tentacles because I didn't know how to deal with them as Nero. 5 tries later and I keep dying in the 90's, shit is rough.

The only hard parts for V are Artemis and Vergil.

Nero and V both have a hitbox on their DT activation that's strong enough to drop Artemis, Malphas, and possibly Geryon and Nidhogg (needs more testing) while they're charging at you. Helter Skelter's breakage is the only melee attack other than Royal Release that's strong enough to counter Vergil's jetplane. Tomboy's activation and deactivation as well as the initial punch that sends out Punchline has a hitbox which can clash and parry just as normal swings can. Between Faust turret and DSD's summoned swords Dante can be played just like V, though with less moves. V's laser taunt can kill without using checkmate. With summoned swords active on trickster and DT Dante has four jumps over Nero's three and can quickly enter and exit DT to get the third and fourth jumps. If you use shredder you can always hit Vergil's summoned swords back at him. You can switch to DSD and use Dante's swordmaster summoned swords even while in the middle of a combo with another weapon. Anything specific you actually interested in?

You've provided an excellent question, I might as well answer it. I don't consider myself as knowing shit all about what constitutes a good or bad Devil Arm, but I do know that none of the previous punchy ones really clicked for me, from Ifrit to Gilgamesh. I just didn't like the punch-based style with the shorter reach than Dante's swords and used other weapons instead. So when I started doing Dante's first mission and tried out Balrog, I thought I wasn't really gonna like him either. But I bloody loved the kick mode, spinning around enemies like a top and having an air attack that closes in on a faraway target, so I started using it. That got me into using blow mode occasionally and switching between the two more frequently. I like how the two modes have different ways of getting into ignition and neither requires you to stop attacking, I like that Balrog talks and provides a helpful countdown to when your ignition runs out, I like how I can launch enemies in one mode and switch into another once I follow them up. His jump does damage, for fuck's sakes. I think when it comes to stuff I don't understand I'm a bit weak with the dodging boxing stance of blow mode and how to effectively use that.

Three missions.
First mission cutscene has Dante say "come on Vergil, race you to the portal!" explaining why Dante won't be playable in the add-ons
You spend those three missions fighting through Hell and racing to the portal and it ends as you and Dante escape from Hell, with a final boss fight against Dante back in Redgrave, with a remix of Devils Never Cry playing. When Vergil wins, he says "two for me..." and Dante chides him on where he learned to count this time, and then Nero arrives with Nico and they all get in the van.

That will be 40 dollars please.

Bolverk from DMC2 straight-up is one of the few characters who was still alive since Sparda's rebellion to have not only met him, but have fought him multiple times and become his rival. That alone sets a stage to develop a character with an actually potentially interesting background. Sparda also took Beowulf's eye and was the one to set up Temen-ni-Gru, which is full of bosses he personally had to have fought.

Balrog can honestly be treated as a completely different weapon to the previous gauntlets, they were all about charging and timing which Cavaliere's sort of inherited, Balrog reminds me much more of Agni and Rudra, fast and fluid with a few strong moves for blowing everything to hell but you need to really commit to them. For boxing stance the ability to enter it with i-frames immediately after a light blow is excellent for parrying, since even if you whiff the parry you'll dodge the attack (like in webm related). Flint wheel (the back+SM attack in kick mode) has a ton of i-frames too and a huge hitbox, between these I consider Balrog better for parrying than even Cerberus (since ice age won't work on certain bosses (and maybe behemoth, need to test that again) and revolver doesn't have as fluid follow-up potential). The main use of boxing stance is fishing for KOs with welter blow (the side-step attack), it builds KO more than any other move and if you can get a Fury or Judecca with it then they're completely done. I do also have some trouble with dodging while in the stance though, sometimes it doesn't come out as I want, I think the input for it might be a lot stricter than the forward and back moves.

If we employed an objective scale of usefulness most devil arms in the series would be considered good, the only real outliers are Lucifer (which is more a problem with 4 as a whole) and Gilgamesh (again 4 problems and only really compared to the other gauntlets, and even then it has its merits). I think a lot of people don't talk about gameplay stuff because they feel the same way and are worried about being called a casual for saying the wrong thing or something, I dunno.
