'97, but didn't get much into "current" gaming until around 2010.
Played some Homm3 with the neighbours kid, R/B/Y, stuff like that. My parents opposed gaming and didn't have much money, so I usually got used stuff from friends or second hand stores.
I'm okay with it tho. I got a GameCube for Christmas and Birthday in 2005, which was my only up-to-date console until i got a job at 16 and wasted my money on a DS and a shitty PC which i haven't upgraded much since then.
