Point and clicks

Point and clicks
Is there any genre more boomer-core? I doubt even a fraction of gen Zers have played one

Any hope for this genre, any good ones lately? All we get is the odd indie every now and then.

>any good ones lately?
I have heard good things about the new Leisure Suit Larry.
>All we get is the odd indie every now and then.
Indies plus for some reason Germans do a lot of adventure games.

I'm 30 and I've never played a game like this.

Don't bother. They're full of moon logic and so many other aggravating bullshit traits. Playing a game like Dark Seed without a walkthrough is pure suffering.

>All we get is the odd indie every now and then.
tell tale games were point and clicks with big budget

It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I won't miss an opportunity to recommend Kentucky Route Zero.

I've played spy fox, does that count?

I liked Kathy Rain. Don't be put off by the main character looking a bit tumblr-like, it's pretty good. Very Twin Peaks like.

It's my favorite genre and I'm sad it's kind of dead. I recently finished Dropsy, very cute and comfy game. It goes on sale on steam often, give it a try if you wanna

What are some adventure games that have good gameplay, or at least good gameplay for the genre? Gameplay meaning puzzles, well-designed items, interesting mechanics, etc.

like 50 years from now at this rate

I got to meet the creator of Dropsy once, he's a cool, very humble guy. I've been meaning to buy the game just to support him, but I'm just not into the genre and I know I'd never get around to playing it even if I got it for free.

Did you check out his new game Hypnospace Outlaw? It's like a 90s Internet simulator

Windmonk was alright

I played the Deponia series.
What is the original bed sheet joke that was lost in translation

It seems to be having a resurgence.

That's nice to know!
Count me buying it and playing it as if you did, user. I really loved it.

This was a great genre in my opinion. At the risk of sounding like a mainstream reddit pleb I really enjoyed the old Monkey Island games. Also liked Beneath a Steel Sky and 5 Days a Stranger to name a few.

Well how about you just git gud faglord. Solving puzzles is a skill like any other.

Name a SINGLE point and click game with good gameplay.
protip: you can't

what bed sheet?

because that's not the point. Unless we count puzzles as gameplay, in which case there's many good ones

Name them.

point and click is zoomer shit
back in my day we had to type all the commands

Why would you care about sounding like a reddit pleb? This place has been just as casual as reddit for a long time.

Puzzle Agent 1-2, sam and max hit the road, leisure suit larry (especially 7), Hollywood Monsters, Deponia, Monkey Island, and even some of the sherlock holmes series are neat.
I'd add grim fandango, but despite being one of my favorites, I'm annoyed at its tanky controls

Runescape

Telltale games barely resemble a point and click adventure, they're way too linear. Sam and Max is their best series and it's just repeating the same actions over and over

The genre got revived in Germany back in 2008 I think with Edna&Harvey The Breakout. Daedalic Entertainment, the publisher, did release lots of Point&Click Adventures since then. They do cover a fair range of genres, so everyone should find something they like.

Telltale trash doesnt count as point and click

Maniac Mansion.

Do you not play the game by pointing and clicking? You're like the FGCucks that whine that everything that isn't a street fighter derivative isn't a Fighting Game

>Game defines a genre
>Another game comes along that actually fits really snuggly into another genre (a competitive beat-em-up)
>Get assblasted that the community rejects this as a fighting game
Are you retarded?

Just remakes of the old ones for the most part, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island etc.

The grim fandango remaster has classic.point and click controls

What's the best way to play Hollywood Monsters?

Machinarium and other games by those devs. But generally, the more out of the box the gameplay is, the less they are like the traditional p&c's

Are you? There were fighting games before Street Fighter. It didn't define anything

The only recent one I enjoyed was Fran Bow
