I used to think like you, but then I thought about it some more and realized it wouldn't really work thematically. I can't think of a way they could implement this option without it going against the fight-the-power narrative or feeling inconsequential (because they have to railroad you into the intended experience one way or the other).

I played 1 many years ago several times and I finished Human Revolution about a year ago and now I'm starting to think I liked HR more. I'm not sure, it was a great fucking game and far surpassed my expectations. Mankind Divided however was garbage.

HR and MD are both awful.

They're alright if you pretend they're their own thing, which isn't hard to do because Deus Ex is a self-contained experience.

It took me a second try to get into HR, the first time I stopped just before Hong Kong. But I really got into it on the second attempt. It's everything you'd want in a new Deus Ex game. MD just reeks of modern gaming.

You can tell they really gave a shit and put all their effort into HR. It's just like the first one except new. Like a sequel to a game. Whether or not I like it more than the first game, they have 100% of my respect for giving it their all.

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 kinda suck, not gonna lie, boring and ugly games, both of them.
